It seems only UBA account holders have received their UCAP dividend. Please anyone from another bank?
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Standardguy(m): 8:52am On Feb 20, 2021
PharmAlfred:
UCAP is paying 70kobo dividend while Afripud will pay 50kobo. That's some reverse.
Hmm. With the way UCAP is going and with current happenings in the company this stock will be selling at double digits in not too distant year(s). From 30K to 50k to 70k and with the level of investments the company is into it could sustain this trend. Let's keep watching!

THIS IS MY VIEW PLEASE.AND NOT A BUY RECOMMENDATION. DO YOUR RESEARCH PLEASE.

Just wanted us to be more guided here so we can at least have the timing idea.

Agba is very good when it gets to predictions but I always have issues with his predictions, he'll just state it in one simple sentence and throw people into confusion (maybe na only me sha). grin

For instance, before the arrival of the Sept/Oct bull he made one 4 or 5 letter words prediction, I didn't understand until market started going up........I actually misinterpreted it but just kept silent cos of what I saw and observed too.......which was incoming of funds and possible price appreciation then.

So........that's it sha. grin
I perfectly understand you. You are right.

Oga, that post was made on Nov 16.
You could have done well to tell us how many weeks we are now..........or better still when to when.
Just saying....... tongue
Madam, Please don't get me wrong and I mean no harm. I was just assessing the statement to see how the market has performed on average since agba posted that statement and I discovered that it's been bearish a kind of. This does not mean that the market will not move or will remain bearish. Infact, it could even be fully bullish afterwards.

Also, I have discovered that most statement he make in November on the future of the market in Nov/Dec and Jan are somehow true.

Many thanks Madam

I greet the Great Men and women of this forum.

Please what could likely be the effect on prices of stocks as the recession announcement looms next month? Will it tank, range or still move up afterwards between Jan-Feb in view of excellent results published by some companies? Your advice is highly sorted and appreciated

Guy u can write long literature ooo. I doff my hat for you.

Am an Engineer and we don't believe in long turenchi.
A couple of equations and graphs ... end of story
Please we need to respect each other's opinion and stop attacking whether or not it favours us. Most people here suffered and are suffering the effect of the bears because they rejected the message and ridiculed the messenger.

If we had asked onifa (Rabbidoracle) what he saw and why he told us to sell he would have explained what he wrote yesterday to us and probable we would not have been this beaten by the market. Rather we attacked him and he went to guest mode and here we are. Also, Mesship said GT will crash to N19 and we attacked him and chased him away. Today, how far is GT from N19? We should have rather pressurised him to explain further. Who knows, he might be an onifa with a shrine somewhere or part of the team that pushed out corona virus. Some will attack and go back to discuss privately with the messenger thus depriving others of vital information only to benefit later from the message.

Please let us be patient with ourselves, the stock market has a mind of its own and highly unpredictable so those who are analytical, observant and experienced should be encouraged. If we want to hear what we want to hear then there is no reason to be here.

Thanks.

Really stick to banks now that CBN has crash their cash cow which is Treasury bills and as well slashed all online transaction and ATM charges huh

Banks revenue will take a hit this year.

INVESTORS BEWARE!
Forget it. Banks have perfected their ways of making profit and growing it. Banks still continued to soar after TSA when many felt their profit will crash. Also, don't forget that they are fully and better seated in Open Market Operations (OMO) after many others have been excluded. With the crash of PMA rate, so many will prefer to leave their money in savings account thus more deposit for the banks to play with. Nigerian banks will surpass your expectation.

...and I also disagree with that part in bold !! Pls stop running the name of the IGBO race 'down to the eight'
Clearly not all IGBO men, 'cause I know many who don't !!
Those who do, are a complete shame to behold.
A showy display of ones means of life(which sometimes can even be a total fluke) is clearly NOT part of the VIRTUES of a credible and reputable opulent personality.

Pls do well to be guided accordingly.
OGG please there is no need for all these. Your contributions here have been greatly applauded. I am not claiming to sell my fcmb on Monday o.
I will only sacrifice to give bears 8% from the 32% paper profit as at today.

When is what I don't know........
You could rush to sell then regret later. The bank did not make a loss and will still rally when the bulls come fully. The EPS and other ratios are not bad at all and good enough to even pay good dividend.

Also, the stock market has a mind of its own. Sterling Bank and some other stocks rally with a result not as good as FCMB. There could be a pull back but it will still rally and rise above current price. Just watch the crocodile smile and be confident.

Just a piece of advice. Your decision is inviolable.

The koko is that who bought around August and bought more as it was falling will be making so much.
Yes big bros. This market is NOT for the impatient. I am a one stock man (a stock that can pay me dividend in the worst case scenario). I buy from September to November and cash out in January. Even if the bulls or the bears are on rampage I don't sell until January . It has worked for me for some years now with unimaginable profits.

It is advisable to enter the market, buy a good stock or stocks with good financials and forget it till January. Moving from one stock to another this period only reduces profit, increases regrets as well as discouragement when others are profiting. I just buy, leave it and pray as only God knows the stock that will rally the most during the xmas rally/January effect. It might even be Zenith though I don't have it.

Yes. All of us. What has centre got to do with invitation? Pray for God to bless what you have and give you yours while you rejoice and pray for those who are successful in this instance and see what God will do for you. Stop asking competitive questions at this time. Our unbiblical cords are not tied to each other so is our success rate different. I have heard of very successful people who were not taken even after interview where they presumably did well and today they so sucessful that they are not ready to join NNPC even if an appointment letter is given to them freely without test or interview. Those stocks once they land in your portfolio, just print and laminate the paper showing the units and keep for your grandkids.
lol...You are right. Where you can you port. Normally some will port. That is where timely information becomes important. The market is an information/news driven market. When a stock is going down continiuosly in a normal or bullish market know that something is amis. Some people look not knowing what is happening until they are left behind. Even big coy with sound financials can go down. Its just information and acting fast....Smart investor. In this age some investors still send mail or call their brokers to buy or sell shares when they can trade online. Taking advantage of any good news to position for profit or bad news to bail out may be difficult for such. Not withstanding, the market is still sound.

Good guy. You got my point completely. But note that the herd effect will also affect moribund companies with bad corporate governance and all other negative factors. So it's important to invest in companies that will not packup when the bears come in future. And don't forget that the market moves in crest and troughs. So it may take 7years of plenty but famine will still show up one day.
Big Bro, Corporate governance related issues in moribund companies shouldn't' cause a discredit of the stock market generally. Everyone has his/her investment objective which can be achieved in the market. Discrediting the entire market means none is achievable. Normally, an investor should be very close to happenings in the coy he has invested in or about to. One can invest in a moribond coy where there is info that certain changes that will positively affect the furtunes of the coy are in the pipeline. For instance, Dangflour went down under Tigerbrands and today it is hot cake in the market. Those who positioned early when it was down are celebrating today while some are still down and may come up later. Wrong investors invest and go to sleep only to wake and discover that they have become security men. I guess this forum has helped solve info issues to a large extent. Also, NSE mandated all coy to have a dedicated contact phone no posted on their website for investors query. We can still make use of that. Where a stock is not viable or you sense danger, you port and still make your money. That is the beauty of the market. Even among the diciples there was a Judas and he did not make all the diciples useless.

In conclusion, what is your opinion about the stock market in the period under review?
It is obvious. Even the bears have been unable to water down stock prices as EXPECTED with many still waiting for far lower prices and ending up entering at higher prices. Institutional investors as well as fund administrators are mopping up as we can see huge volumes exchanging hands. No doubt the stock market still have very high potentials enough for everyone to tap from. Next year will be super with the signals on ground and events unfolding.

Cadillac15:
I normally don't like posting in bullish periods because of the popular knowledge that everyone becomes an expert in such periods.

But I feel obliged to give some thoughts to newbies as they pay their NSE fees.

What is suddenly moving the market? Why are prices going up generally? The answer is simple. No more 18%+ interest in Treasury Bill. No more 16%+ interest in Bonds. All the monies that left the market as a result of the sudden increase of interest rates at the peak of our recession is returning back to the stock market. This is good for the market but has a very big disadvantage to inexperienced traders. Why? Because all the stocks will appreciate in price cool Will they remain so? No huh Why? Because investors will soon discern the good stocks from the bad and hence offload the bad to unfortunate hands who will then hold them through the bearish period or sell at a loss lipsrsealed

In all this, it is important to know everything about the company you are buying their shares, what is in it for you, what is moving their price and most importantly, your exit plan when poo hits the fan. I give you an example, what's special about Fidelity Bank? Is their numbers the best in the banking index? No cheesy then why is everyone looking their way right now? huh Simply because they declare good dividend historically. Now, you follow the band wagon, buy Fidelity because of this fact, not planning your trade. After the dividend play and ex-dividend date, the players will exit and this will pull back the price. Why? It will no longer be fruitful to hold Fidelity until the next dividend period chikena.

Another of such company is Afriprud. These are even companies with good financials o. So what happens to you if you had gone ahead to buy caverton because the price is rising with the general bull? Or CI Leasing? Or even Skyehuh

Anyway, I'm in my house. If my opinion annoyed you, come and beat me grin
With the expected further crash in interest rate next year and FGN decision to settle completely a percentage of maturing Treasury bills, the dividend payout by coys yearly may be higher than the interest received that year on the amount invested. Looking carefully, future investors will be asking where they were when prices where as low as they are today and when DMO starts settling treasury bills rate may go down to low or mid single digit.
Also, most of the coys you see today with some struggling to survive will become more profitable as they will have more cheaper funds turn their businesses around (which is the reason FGN is deciding tobcrash rates) hence more dividend resulting from lower interest.
