You should concentrate on build small app and learning concept of programming rather than the language itself. Why I am saying this is that many times noobies pick languages based on peer pressure or news flash and sweet stories, not necessarily out of necessity(e.g for a specific job, the new language has a better feature you currently need, it is appeal to your inner perception).

At the end of the day, the choice is yours.
