It’s not an easy task, but it’s clear to see that if you let your defeats get you down you only make it harder to get that next success under your belt. Make an effort to get enthusiastic about your current endeavor, regardless of how many times you’ve fallen short in the past. This is sure to result in a success or two, which builds momentum and makes it easier to get excited about what you’ll do next.

Should it be called modern privileges or civil crazy and foolishness? Give it any name that's not my concern but its effects on our children tomorrow. It is bad that what was good in years back does not seem to suit our modern thinkers. Few years back, girls cover their unclothedness, their breasts would be jealously secured under the normal size of bra (brassiere) with gown or other clothes that would serve in the absence of gown. Buttocks would be kept away from the external eyes (males), if there's any way by mistake their pant is exposed her fellow girl or woman would rush to cover it. Today, such common decency has been set ablaze. Girls appear Unclad on the street, in the school and in the church exposing that which needs to be covered while madly covering places that need not to be covered. Modern foolishness and civilization of lunatic behaviour.

Politics / Is This A Final Farewell To Our Glorious beginning by stansaintly(m): 1:19pm On Feb 08, 2016
At first, it was full of help, everybody was happy and we all welcomed their gospel. They preached to us and we were convinced without much delay, we packed our baggage and followed them. Yes, they clothed us and we fed them, that's on a mutual benefit but being that they were wiser, we denied our god and kicked away our "Chi".

Africans don't do without gods, we so much reverence them, and that was exactly the reason why the missionaries' purpose found fertile lands in Africa. They came and they saw and they planted their own "god" in our midst which they decorated with irresistible aroma of benefits, truly, the whole thing was too tempting to be ignored. At least, their god is a bit more kindhearted than our "ogun", "ogundele", "ogbunigwe" or "amadioha".

Sure, the knowledge of our newly found god was quite amazing but something was wrong somewhere. We needed a reference point through which the new god would be reached. I'm sure you can't blame us for that because we were used to that pattern.

They gave us Bible but high rate of illiteracy posed a big threat, then they gave us Western Education as the only weapon to combat it (illiteracy). Everything was FREE OF CHARGE.

The Missionaries really tried to force the Western Education into our hollow skull, yes, they succeeded but not without pains, African mosquitoes dealt with them severely "maybe, as a revenge for helping us to discard our gods". They conquered and their god honoured their faith and their project came to fruition.

At that point, they gave us a staff of authority to carry on with our newly found faith. Remember, everything was free of charge, that included Western education before they left us.

Too bad that they hadn't even reached their hometown the free western education they left under our custody became polluted and ever since then it has been under a serious bastardization. The education which was offered to us on a free platform has been remoulded into "money-sucking" device.

Where are the old missionary schools? Where is the faith and where is the dignity? As the missionary schools have been turned into "pocket-drainers" leaving many people that swallowed their bait (in the name of Christian school) "koboless". This is absolutely preposterous because its negative effect is no more imperceptible. Our State and Federal Universities are now copying their nerve-wracking tuition fee as a source of extra revenue to enhance their selfish interest.
Religion / At Last, Here Come A Peace Of Mind! by stansaintly(m): 12:55pm On Feb 08, 2016
We listen to the newscasts that come daily to our ears, we read alarming headlines that intensify our fears. We grow more and more dissatisfied and feel less and less secure as our days become more anxious and the future more unsure.

For with violence and dissension and chaos all around, we no longer feel with certainty that we stand on solid ground. But in place of reading headlines that disturb our peace of mind we should once more read our BIBLE and on its pages we would find that this age is no different from the millions gone before and that in every hour of crisis God has opened up a door to all who seek His guidance and trust His all-wise plan, for God provides protection beyond that devised by man, while God's almighty power is not ours to understand.

We know Who holds the future and we know Who holds our hand, and to have steadfast knowledge that we never walk alone and to rest in the assurance that our every need is known will help dispel our worries. In trusting HIM (GOD) we will find right in the midst of chaos HE can give us peace of mind.

Save your soul by trusting God only, not our "sycophant" politicians

Politics / The Deadliest Seed We Ate by stansaintly(m): 4:04am On Feb 07, 2016
It is never a mistake that I am a Nigerian. Truly, God didn't punish me through her. Nigeria was lovely, peaceful, caring (forgive me, I don't know if it has ever been) until the birth of our parents, our grand-parents or even our great grand-parents. Seriously, my country wouldn't have been wrecked, deserted and poisonous if not them, if not the political gladiators who always exhibit insatiable apatite for power and recognition.

They told us how other tribes sabotaged us, they fed and still feeding us poison. They have never seen any good thing from another man. They told us that other tribes are diabolical, saboteurs, lazy and a jealous set of people who notoriously crippled their youth to make themselves (the affluent) demigod.

My fellow, are we sure that the environment we are polluting today will not take its revenge on our children tomorrow? Are we sure that the poison our political elites and elders fed us with has not eaten deep into our bone marrow? Can't you see what I am seeing? Hatred has taken hold of us in the school, mosque, church and even on the nairaland.

We can only coexist when our mindset has been worked on, when we are ready to recognize the beauty that lies in a fellow’s life. Please, let us be wise. We shouldn't be racial or religious prejudice, on earth, there is only one race i.e "the human race" and only one religion "the knowledge of God", any other ideology is superstition.

I sat down under one of the mango trees in my compound. Guess what? I realised that many of us really don't know what to do, what to say particularly on the situation at hand.

Many are here to rant, while many have thought that here is the best avenue to pour out their pain.

saraki
ipob
niger delta
buhari
nnamdi kanu
Jonathan
david mark.

Who or which issue haven't you commented on? remember, those people have made their names and ur little voice is never heard. Come on, point at one of the solutions ur tiny voice has ever proffered. Ranting and shouting can only give you a sharp cut inside your heart.

Think deep, everybody is in the flag of defeat. who elected him (saraki)? was the crime committed before or after he was elected? Don't you think think that the FG is as guilty as saraki

South Africans are notoriously lazy. They are just digging their graves because if foreigners leave their land, trust me, they won't be in any way fatter than AJEGUNLE DOGS and can never be in any way cleaner than ISIOKPO PIGS.

emiye:

You have comprehension issues, let me also inform you that only two regions contributes more to the federal purse than it receives from it, these two regions are the SOUTH SOUTH & SOUTH WEST. your south east is a negative contributor, you can choke on that

I can't stop laughing! Here is a man who is selective in his sense of judgment just for the cause to over glorify his vast but unproductive region who take pride in the effort of others (other regions) dotted all over his region

South East dey do attaché, when it comes to regional contribution of resources to federal purse, south east comes a DISTANT third to south west. it is an insult for some group of idiiots making claim to an imaginary master/ slave relationship.
So, I ask these idiotss, is it that anytime an Hausa/Fulani becomes a president , then a master/ slave relationship is formed?

Wisdom without education is far cherished than education without wisdom. How on earth could your brain allow your mouth to say that SE contribution of resources to federal purse is nothing. It's better to shut your mouth and be presumed to be a fool than to open it and utter all doubt. SE contributes heavily

Has it ever occurred to anybody to know how the name nigeria came to be?

Lemme give you a surprise package if you care to know.

The name, nigeria, was excavated from the pit of hell by a harlot who found solace in the bosom of lugard.

Who neither know culture nor ever been cultured.

You wanna read more? Check the history of nigeria and whose mouth it was first heard.

Bravo Mademoiselle! The beginning of the story really whetted my apetite to read it to the last letter. As I was going through it I sank in the memory lane, where we fought and cursed like enemies just for the purpose of academic recognition. I can't forget Miss Ogochukwu Buben Nwagu, she was my sweet pain during our own time.

Sometimes people talk as if they are under the influence of alcohol. That they (Ibos) voted for a person of their choice now makes them less Nigerians, and deviod of value. You guys should always sound a bit educated for God sake and banish hatred from your blood. They are Nigerians and have equal right to make their needs known to the federal government as democracy demands.

The Ibos and most part of Niger Deltans are Biafrans. The hatred some of the Niger Deltan are pouring on their Ibo brother is the handwriting of Yoruba and Hausa which is championed by your colonial master. They planted an iroko of enmity between Niger Deltans and Ibos so that their mission won't be possible. How can people that bear same name, have same culture claim that they aren't from same source? Something is not right. Seriously, I'm a Historian, I had my university education here in Nigeria, I can vividly tell most of you what you are afraid to say.

The problem is the oil,
The problem is Nigeria.
Ibos are not the problem
The problem is that evil seed called hatred that other two major ethic groups planted in Niger Delta

This is the best avenue the Biafran haters should use to support The Sovereign State of Biafra. For a few people claiming to be Niger Deltan, who are expressly voicing their hatred against the actualization of the Sovereign State should not bother. I promise, you won't be forced to join. I know where you guys are perching, don't allow oil to give you heartache because some Biafran States have oil too and many others have mineral resources which can be gainfully exploited
