It's definitely possible, but one thing you need to realize is that you will never really know other person before you meet up. Therefore, don't get any false expectations. Anyone can be anyone on the internet. |
@Endowed Harry Good one. If you want to study, start by stating what you want to study or what exactly you need help with (lil-dave). If you want to work, start by stating what kind of work you might be interested in and qualifications. You're not going to get a job out of nowhere. So feel free to ask again whenever you want to provide that information. |
A great man and a great inspiration. Sun re o |
theimmortals: Its not only emi nado, limpopo, azonto, skelewu, alingo, etcSkelewu is a made up word (have a good time), I think limpopo is a made up word too (let's have fun), alingo is another made up word (some sort of dance moves), azonto is a Ghanian dance etc. |
amblessede: no for postgrad admissionI don't know actually. I think it should be okay, but I advice you to send the school a mail. They usually reply very fast. |
amblessede: hi starlux, pls i hv an account statement i want to use for application. the closing balance of the statement is less than 2.5m but the transactions contained in it in a period of 3 months is way more than 2.5m. will the statement b accepted?)Is this for visa? |
It's dead skin cells. That's why people use bath/body scrubs, face scrubs etc. to exfoliate the skin. It's a good habit if you wish to maintain youthful skin. |
Vivly: Op, your point is?Not true from my experience. In fact, this is the most common excuse that I see being thrown around for ditching guys of the same age. Hilarious how none of these relationships lasts though (because it's based on a lie). Stop deceiving yourself by telling your head that you're too mature. They're so fixated on this particular thing that all other rationality disappears. Guys are simply more playful, that's not the same as being immature. if u wan chase these older guys sef, no one is stopping you. |
Get a USB-stick (you can even use a phone, basically any digital storage media) - download the driver onto it (maybe you can borrow a friend's PC - connect and install it on your PC. |
My number 1 grudge is poor sound quality (sometimes it's too low to be heard, sometimes it's too loud so it makes an unpleasant noise). Just use microphones, it can't be that hard. Filming technique could also be improved, especially cameras being kept on stands so the picture won't shake. |
No, just move on and don't look back. Easier said than done, but you don't want to be stuck with someone who can cheat again at any point. |
I don't really have an opinion on the matter, but I think a lot of the comments you see on NL are not too serious. |
endowed harry: @starflux thanks for ur reply pls dis are my available document....ssce result NECO precisely,my universities 100L result transcript..i just want 2 knw if the statement of account is important when applying for the language cos in january...pls don't be angry just list d required document in details nd name pls i beg its urgent for i want 2 prepare myself b4 hand which is janYou will be informed as to what kind of documentation you should provide. Though, NTNU's language programme, they don't want any documentation for the preliminary form. If this is the case where you're applying, then you shouldn't provide any documentation Anyway, excluding what I just said, it usually goes like this: (It is not a requirement to submit any documentation for the preliminary application, but it simplifies the application process later on). 1.ID/passport: submit a copy of the page that has your name, picture, date of birth and nationality on it. 2.Diploma OR documentation of graduation. 3.Complete transcript of record. chidi odini: please i want to come to Norway. can you tell me more about their. What do you want to do, work, study, visit? |
endowed harry: Pls I'm waiting patiently for jan when their portal for undergraduate program will be open, dats their language course.pls i need every information or ducument i will need 2 get ready A-Z pls all that is require nd if u are here u got admission to an undergraduate program pls tell me d steps u took i will be grateful thanks@allIt's not that complicated. You follow the application procedures given by your university (internet form). Depending on the university, you should have computer uploads of your documentation (the educational background you are using to apply) and ID, as it might ease the application process later on (some might ask for physical photocopies). |
I was shocked when I woke up and read the news. Very tragic. Rest in peace ![]() |
macof: isn't standard Yoruba and bini of the same tonal vocals?Yes, but Yoruba has a standard version, Edo does not (as far as I'm aware), and tonal qualities can vary between dialects. I guess there are no tones to avoid confusion. It's a shame though, because if I want to test my language skills, I'd end up looking like a fool trying to pronunce these words when there's no tonal indications (from a learner's perspective). In Yoruba, I've learned the tones by heart (how to write them), I'm unsure if I could actually write the tonal markings with only listening to the pronuncation, but I assume it's possible. |
I find it very interesting how all these three languages are non-tonal. I wonder how it came about. Nice thread! |
fame12k: Thanks alot, have downloaded it, my lesson starts right away, will be updating you about my progress in this new journey. You're very welcome. I don't know how good the book is, so just give the word if you want to try another one, and I'll try to find an alternative. |
fame12k: ok, thank u sir.http://www.readersstuffz.com/downloads/ebooks/Language%20Books/Norwegian%20-%20Colloquial.pdf |
aodis: Hello StarFlux:What grade scale is your school using? I assume 5.0 scale in this case. Norway uses a 6-point scale. C = 4/6 4/6 ≈ 0,66 (66%) 0,66 * 5 = 3.3 But in reality, C minus, C, and C plus are in use (not on official stuff though) so probably C average would include C minus (don't take my word for this) which means you can get in with lower than 3.3, though I can't confirm that. It's really easy to get these things confused, so I'm not entirely sure what grading scales people's been giving me, but generally, this is the model you want to follow. I apologize for any mistakes. fame12k: Thanks for d link, just had d opportunity to view it on pc, as i cant view it properly on my fone. That's a shame. I'll try to dig up some more. |
chunaph: Please starflux, amongst UIO, NTNU, UIB, And UIS which is they best to study Petroleum Geosciences? Thanks a lot for insight!UiS and NTNU are about the same (shared first). UiB and UiO are about the same (shared second). |
No. |
fame12k: Thanks for your prompt response, i will definately need your help sir, during d learning process. You can give this online course a try: http://www.ntnu.edu/now/intro It comes with recordings and everything. Should give you a nice introduction. Unfortunately, I don't know any free ebooks. |
fame12k: @ starflux, your info on dis thread has being very useful, thanks alot.Hey, glad you asked! Grammatically, Norwegian is similar to English. It won't pose too many problems. It's definitely one of the more overcomable languages when you already know English. The hardest part is pronunciation, but that comes with time. A rough estimate for learning the basics is 3+ months with hard work. If there will be need, I can assist you in the learning process. |
HTC One silver version. It's quite the looker. Really like the new Xperia Z1 though. |
Fulaman198: If you combine Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger, Chad it is about that number. Remember in the far west of west Africa, the language is called Pular or Puular. That makes sense. Nice one! |
I believe the amount of Fulfulde speakers is fairly accurate (13,6 million) if you look at other sources than Wikipedia. As seen here as well: http://www.ethnologue.com/language/fub I'm not sure where they get the 25 million figure from though. I don't understand what point you are trying to make ZACHIE. |
macof: @op nice threadThank you! |
No. Pidgin is not a complete language, and it is more or less a direct translation (without proper grammar) from indigenous languages to English. In essence, it's a simplified and incomplete version of English. Why do Nigerian keep insisting on speaking a foreign man's tongue? The french wouldn't throw away their language in a million years, neither would the chinese, and China is a country with hundreds of languages just like Nigeria. |
Fulaman198: One thing I'm proud of the Hausa people for is their tenacity. I'm Fulani (Pullo) and Hausa is spoken even by a lot of non-Hausa groups like mine as a second language. Hausa people don't have much interest in English (Northerners in general could care less about English even though we can speak and write it). We are far too proud of our traditional cultures to give it up for a foreign language like English. Some cultures need to stop the inferiority complex that thinking being westernised is the way to go.Very true! |
