Please I want to ask a very simple and straight forward question.
When is the best time to introduce pap to a baby?

NB: We're almost three months old and we intend stoping EBF once we hit three months.

Please kindly advise us on the best time to start. We're ain't in a hurry at all. I wish I don't have to start. Lol grin

If u r lucky, baby might chng n sleep 4 longer hours n if not, u go carry ur canoe like dt ooo but y dont u try backin bany to induce sleep or gt a bouncer to bounce baby to sleep... Dt way u can b hsving ur me time.
Mama long time no be small o. Motherhood is hitting me hard left, right and center with little or no assistance. You mean this sleeping pattern is normal? I thought babies are expected to sleep 15 to 17 hours a day. Mine is sleeping less than 10 hours. Shouldn't I be worried?
Thanks for always responding to my questions. I appreciate it a lot.

Hi mama please help! My 10weeks old baby who used to be a sleep lover like other babies suddenly cannot sleep again for the past two days.

Usually after his morning bath, I breastfeed him and off he goes to sleep. He can sleep for upto 7hrs or more and maybe wakes up in-between to feed. But for the past two days he'll sleep for a maximum of 2 hrs and will not go back to sleep until night. And even at night he struggled with sleep and eventually slept around 1am and woke up by 6am. Meaning he couldn't even get upto 10 hours sleep a day for two days now and he's just 2 months and few weeks old.
Aside the sleep issue, he's temperature is normal, he breastfeed well, he poos well but just cannot sleep and as long as he's awake, he wants to be carried. That's a lot of hardwork. Hope I'm not loosing my mind for doing nothing but carrying him from 12pm to 1am. Please who understands this situation and is anyone experiencing this?
Forgive my tone mbok. I just managed to put him to sleep about an hour ago. Something I started trying since 12pm. Pheeeew!

Good morning mamas!

Kindly help to fill out this questionnaire and share the link with other mothers you may know.

It's a preliminary survey to collate reports on the efficacy or otherwise of coconut water to prevent colic in newborns. If you have tried using coconut water for this purpose at anytime, your response is particularly needed. It's just part of a group of analysis aimed at making our local medicinal plants known.

All responses are anonymous and will only be used for the purpose of the research.

Thanks in advance!

Good evening Mamas. I am 8 days postpartum. Should the blood discharge be more or less now. For the past 5 days it's been just little little drops, I still pad up o. But it's more like waste of convit pad as nothing is really coming out. Just little stains. Is there anything to worry about?

B.S! B.S!
Wow, so it's finally my turn to share a birth story? God is good o.
***clears throat**, *blows air into the microphone*
I got married to the love of my life on 10th April, 2021 although my husband was doing as if he's not interested in babies but me i was abeg. So I guess i was the only one TTCing and since na only me know my fertile window i always journey down to visit hubby with the hope of getting pregnant. I started the TTC journey in June, 2021, kept trying every month until November last year when my mind don commot for the whole thing. I blamed my inability to conceive on the fact that i was living far apart from hubby because of work. So I decided to stop trying till maybe after December, 2021 when i intended resigning from my place of work to re-unite with my husband and then start trying again. But to the glory of God I did not see my Dec period o. I lost it in November but realized it in the first week of Dec. that was how my preggy journey began...
*Sips a cup of juice**
*FIRST TRIMESTER* First trimester got me wondering if I was actually pregnant because I waited earnestly for all the signs and symptoms and morning sickness. But I was disappointed, none showed. No spitting, no vomiting, no too much sleep, no headaches, no sickness, nothing at all except for excessive hunger. I wasn't the eating type before conception but I tripled my food intake and I just couldn't endure hunger for one minute. I eat before leaving the house, I carry plenty food to work and I'll eat dinner twice before sleeping. It was that terrible. I had a threatened miscarriage at 12weeks when I was almost done with the first trimester. To God be the glory my baby chose to stay with me and I decided to register for antenatal immediately.
*SECOND TRIMESTER* This was supposed to be the almighty honeymoon stage but trust me I did not see any honey in the moon as excessive hunger dealt with me continuously. It was very smooth except for the hunger and the weakness that comes with the hunger.
*THIRD TRIMESTER* This stage sincerely for me was a mixture of excitement and fear as I didn't know what to expect but I was hopeful and diligent in obeying the dos and don't of pregnancy. Like taking of routine drugs, consumption of fruits and vegetables etc... Let me also add that the third trimester stage brought some changes in my life like promotion at work place, new and better job for hubby etc. I finally travelled in the last week of July to go meet my husband and to prepare to welcome our baby.
I actually thought my baby would come at 38weeks. (Whatever gave me the assurance) but he didn't. 38wks + to 40wks+ was the hardest time to wait, I was disappointed, angry and anxious coupled with incessant calls from friends and family asking "you don born". Mtcheeew. So annoying

*Fast forward to the delivery*
40wks+5days contraction became more frequent, so I decided to call the hospital to complain. I was asked to come and be checked. I happily dressed up and was hoping I would call hubby from the hospital to bring bag but I was disappointed, they said I was having a false labor. I angrily went home. But the contractions didn't stop. It kept increasing and became more intensed. I sha prepared myself incase of emergency. Hubby got home from work that evening, I told him we might be going to the hospital that night. We already made arrangements with a driver that will carry us to the hospital. The contractions grew stronger and stronger by the minutes and by 2am we left for the hospital. As we got to the hospital, na so one nurse wey no get fear of God wan frustrate us. She no even pity my condition she was busy checking the things I brought and comparing them with the hospital list. "This tissue is small, this cotton wool is not large bla bla bla" after all the blabbing hubby gave her some money she then calm down and I was admitted. I was checked, omo I could swear that I was at least 9cm dilated but noo they said I was only 4cm and I was like "whaaaaaaaaat?"
I was given hot glucose water to be sipping and was told to stand and lean at the pillar at every contraction. I kept awake till 6am. I begged them to check me again, they did and it was just 7cm haaa nawa o. I guess I didn't have a fast labor. The contractions were back to back and didn't stop till 4pm when I started shouting that I wanted to poo lol. All of a sudden I felt my water broke. It poured out once with speed and then my mum in law who later joined me in the hospital rushed and called the nurses and I was hurried into the labor room. They checked and said I was fully dilated and I should let them know whenever it feels like I want to poo. They fixed the drip and other things needed for the project. Lol. I started shouting again "I wantu poo o" the woman asked me to go ahead and poo. I pushed, nothing came out. She said if I want to poo I should hold my ankle and look at my navel (belly button) and then poo. I obeyed. The next push my baby was out crying his lungs out. Sincerely I didn't believe it because I thought we were just starting the labor process so I was expecting to hear "the head is out, push harder etc" but surprisingly two unserious pushes brought out my baby with a little tear. The stitching of that tear happened to be the biggest pain I've ever felt all my life. Afterwards I stood up and was escorted by nurses who were singing my praise and carrying my baby. We went back to the ward, they laid baby beside me, I didn't bother looking at my baby's face. I only laid down on my bed and cried. After much consolation from MIL I then remembered to look at my baby's face and behold the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. He has a very deep dimple like his dad. What more can I say?
To God be the glory. Great things he has done.
Indeed we went, we saw and we have conquered. We are 1 week old today.
Thank you beautiful Mamas and Papas for the show of love and concern during those days that seemed like months. I'm really grateful.
Throwing baby dusts to all TTC mums and swift delivery to all the waddling mamas. The God wey do am for me, go do am for you too.
Thank you everyone.
**Signing out of August, 2022. We'll meet again in 2024. Lol.
