Shut up and go to hell!
Anybody can post whatever they like on a public forum .
You have never contributed anything sensible to the thread and you’re here ranting . Always posting religious shitt on the thread up and down . Is this the religion section? Or is this a religion thread?
Oloriburuku people full Nairaland sha.
Cry me a river bro. Cry!
It's people like you acting all childish that make serious minded people leave the forum. Veecovee made an important point, scroll back the pages of this forum and count how many meaningful discussions have been made towards investment.

Well what am still saying is let's make the forum more educative for everyone. Anyone that participated in SMN bear me witness that people learnt a lot.

Sir/Ma, while I understand your angle, I think it's just better to take some comments lightly and also find a way to pick important points from it. Money woman mentioned not listening to market noise; if you are sure of the strategy you are using, I think there should not be any cause for alarm.
However, I observed that you are overly optimistic, which to me still falls within the 'too much of everything' you mentioned. Understand that some people rely on info here sometimes and may be misguided by those comments of yours too, thereby losing money should the stock you hyped shed price instead, especially this bearish period.
I see no harm in warning people about buying at higher prices cos any investor's aim is to make profit.
Just my humble opinion sha.
Maybe I should clarify myself. I bought Diamond bank at an average price of N1.22 while doing this I wanted to also buy Zenith at a comfortable price so I can hold long term. When I saw Zenith below N20 i felt it was time to buy which I did without looking back. I have been in the Nigerian stockmarket for too long, so I paid my dues. What I'm saying is that it would be wrong of me to put others in pressure by quoting too many prices like Zenith would hit 18, 15, 10, or 8 Naira.

I just waited for price to approach my range and I entered. Fxuser and some others would just tell you what the chat says and that is it. He could tell you price could break lower so wait to buy and you see the chart . But posting all sorts of prices without even a chart to back it up is gambling. Forex traders would know better. When you say a currency would fall to a certain price, you either have your chart to back it or remain silent, cos you are just gambling. So if you say a stock would hit N5 show me chart or proof else....

It may be harsh but I need to state the obvious. I think there is a thin line between advise and mocking people. Some bought stocks at higher prices, others bought recently and some other's would buy lower. But in all I think one thing I have seen over the weeks is the silent mockery at others that bought at presumed higher prices.

Funny thing is that is not a Nairaland thing, Its a Nigerian mentality. Under the guise of my neighbor's keeper, you rejoice in their grief. People invested their hard earned money to invest in some of this stocks, the best you can do is wait and time the market so you can buy at a lower price which is good for you. But coming on the forum and quoting too many unimaginable prices would drive away people from here.

Too much of everything is bad. Stock market Nigeria days, bear period is usually time to analyse numbers and argue based on results, not what I see here today.

Make una leave all this loss calculation, we are in a bear period and prices are bound to fall. But likewise when the bulls get in, all this calculations will be forgotten. Just buy at a price you deem fit for your investment objective or time the market as most people here are doing. Good luck.

I appreciate bro, my marriage to Zenith here is for better for worse. Either I exit with profit (sept-mar) or I make do with the yearly dividend (N2.45k-2017) which ever comes first, am ok buying below N20 today.

@N20 & N2.45 dividend...12.25% dividend yield is fine.

...depending on what you mean by crash. My definition of crash market is a loss > 50%. NSE ASI has crashed since it has lost more than 50% of its value that was made through Jan 2018. What we are looking at technically are likely points where it can make reversal.

The index is testing critical level now, but a break below 32057 will point to further downward price movement to another important level at about 28000.

GTB most likely to fall further to a critical level which stands around 26 - 27 now. Someone mentioned about buying GTB at 28. Well, my advise is to ensure you find good buy signal first before risking your money. Average down is not advisable. Talk to your financial adviser for direction.

Good luck everyone!
grin grin grin grin grin
On a serious note the index broke a critical support on monthly and only major support is within the 28,000 - 30,000 region. Although we may witness some retrace/range before retest support.
I think some stocks have come a bit lower within my budget, so make I cherry pick one or two today. grin

How does this affect Diamond bank?
How it affects Diamond bank...MTN is 50% owned by diamond bank, all the profit MTN has made over the years accrued to diamond bank. That is how it would affect diamond bank.

Asking anyhow question.... undecided

It is clear FG want to drive MTN out of Nigeria. Another $2billion. Hmmm Na this one worse pass.
My annoyance in all this, is that when MTN pack up and sell the company to Nigerians. They can do no good but kill the company and strip its assets. Useless bunch.

I just looked into the AIICO H1 2018 and realized that the shenanigans continues. First, about N10 billions of the AFS negative reserve have been charged against the Retained Earnings leaving only N2 billion, making the undervaluation of FGN Bond holdings less transparent. Secondly, there is a jump of N6.7 billions in Insurance Contract Liabilities. There are two issues I see with this. First, has interest rates of gone down so much within 6 months to warrant such a significant mark up in liabilities? Secondly, when you see this markup on this line, it is usually against the Gross Premium Written creating a negative gap between the Gross Premium Written and Gross Premium Income. However, the negative gap between the Gross Premium Written and Gross Premium Income in this statement is only N2.3 billions. I do see an increase of N4.9 billion in claims expenses btw half years 2017 and 2018

I firmly believe that this statement is cooked to the negative with the sole purpose of suppressing the market price of the shares so that these guys can buy the company on the cheap through the Private Placement.
I don't doubt your discovery so far...Nigerian corporate leaders are a bunch of crooks. When they foresee a brighter future they take advantage of minority investors to increase their holdings while declaring consecutive negative results. Was it not here, the result of UBA was on a nosedive, at the same time TONY was accumulating and increasing his holdings until when he was ready the bank took a new turn, how about F0, Oando (If not God that made it backfire) etc. I still regret not buying UBA at below N2.00 anyways I dont have time for insurance coy. Diamond with what I know, na untill death do us part, any free cash I would keep loading. No be person buy over 100million units on friday market close @1.23
Diamond bank loss is man-made...QED grin grin grin

If you are a shareholder in AIICO, everyone needs to join this brother to verify this discovery and fight for our rights.

@Agba,

Considering that Diamond's Loss After Tax has been adjusted by additional ₦250M loass, are you still going to load at 50k?

Welcome back.
una funny no be small...Diamond bank @50k. that means GTB would be selling below N20. Well I have always said it, Diamond cant go below 1.09. My accumulation zone still stands at 1.09-1.50 until good news enter the market. If Diamond bank is put up for sale today in the market, na them go rush us! grin question you should ask is what price would Diamond bank be sold, considering its share of Nigeria retail market market?

Diamond stays above 1.09
GTB stays above N30-35
Zenith stays above N20....unless we are going back to 2008 financial crises. Election or not, banks will make profit. Shikena!

“This is incredibly frustrating. There is no way that MTN would have been able to repatriate such a large amount of money without the central bank facilitating it all."

"This smells like a central bank that is not independent of a government that has big fiscal issues."

"It is very strange that the regulator is ordering the dividends be paid to the central bank and not the company that paid them in the first place,” Chief Executive Officer Rob Shuter said, according to a Bloomberg report."

My people this are very heavy matters arising....a lot of our leaders need to be jailed 4 life. The corruption in Corporate Nigeria especially Govt. owned is higher than even what politicians are stealing. The day NNPC/DPR gets a proper AUDIT they would be revolution in Nigeria.

Etisalat left with nothing. Na nigerian guys chop the loan.
If MTN wants to leave today, there would be a long list of interested buyers even if they accummulate loans. Do you know how much it takes to capture the market size they have in nigeria? Even dangote will rush it.
So you think its only Nigerians that sucked Etisalat dry...no worry black man get mind and can wage any war for a foreigner for just $1 million. Even the one MTN took out somebody gave them the go ahead and said nothing will happen, just settle me. grin

But like Oliver Twist, Nigerians would always ask for more.
