Why can't Nigerians look for a neutral candidate instead of always producing this professional treasury looters who know nothing about building any nation? Intellectual and political illiterates without iota of principle or ideology. You think someone like Atiku or Saraki will develop Nigeria ?
As a matter of fact, all Nigerian rulers since independence are nothing but a pack of wogs, potbellied empty barrels. We must change our philosophy and direction, otherwise, no hope in the horizon.
I picked Atiku cos he is the best candidate that has offered to run for president at the moment even when others are scared of what PMB and the cabal would do. Atiku would call the shots without fear or favour. I wont support anybody that is in hiding and waiting for a Godfather to approve him before coming out. By their fruits we know them, many are waiting for OBJ to anoint them, and my question is did OBJ not anoint PMB and got us into this mess.

But OBJ gave him good advise, to resign honorably.
And truly if PMB love Nigeria, he should listen to the advice.
Fr. Mbaka also advised him to do the same.
My concern is this letter can send NSE into bear season until results...e be like some people saw the letter earlier. grin

https://www.iol.co.za/business-report/companies/sale-of-lafarge-africas-sa-unit-may-be-on-cards-say-experts-12620000

Dangote is one of the regional cement companies being touted as a front-runner to bag Lafarge South Africa alongside others, such as Twiga and Bamburi, which are said to be more profitable and in a better financial position to turn-around fortunes at the South African cement manufacturer.

“Possible buyers could include Dangote Cement, Bamburi Cement (LafargeHolcim), and Twiga Cement (Heidelberg), as these firms are more profitable, generate stronger cash flow and are able to take on more debt to fund acquisitions,” the cement industry experts at Exotix noted.

They should concentrate on the Nigerian market....this is where the money is.

At N145/litre, Nigerians are already paying premium for petrol talkless of N180. Is current day government interested in suffocating its citizens to death. I see any increase in the petrol price as ECONOMIC SUICIDE on Nigerians.

Some cabal in goverment are the one conniving with petroleum marketers to inflict hardship on the people. The question any sensible person will ask is how come modular refineries that APC government made noise about 2 years ago have never commenced operation. How come they have not engaged labour on privatisation of existing refineries...In order not to derail this thread, I will cease from further commenting on this issue.

DF ooooo, DF.
DF you don win o, DF..
Pata you go win again o, DF...(this is the song i am singing now)... grin
At the highlighted, Truth is the govt. knows what to do to get it right but politics & sentiments won't allow them.

bigass:
Is fuel at N180/litre goo or bad?
I do not think fuel at N180 is bad, I'm of the school of thought that govt. should completely take its hands off importation of fuel.

I know for sure that Nigeria business's are very competitive. If we leave the market open, I can guarantee you that we may only buy fuel at N175-180 reason being that more people would import and flood the market, price is meant to come down.

I remember that while the crude oil price was down some marketers sold fuel at N143 because they was so much product in the market. Now that the price of crude oil is up it is suppose to reflect on the pump price.

What the NNPC is doing is subsidizing fuel price artificially, how do you import large tons of fuel at a landing cost of N170 and sell at N145 taking huge losses. This govt is doing the same thing it preached against just that it is going about it the other way. And they can't hike fuel price cos that would create mass action, since they stood against an open market in the past regime.

We must tell ourselves the truth, this government is still subsidizing, but the difference is that NNPC is taking the losses, hence money that should accrue to the govt for expenditure on other capital projects is wasted.

Conclusion of the matter; a bullish jan is a bullish year
NO

January with reading above 0.4 (preferably above a reading of +1) but so far the month of january just started, also look at bearish months for the years with January reading above +1...
Agbalowomeri:
I do not agree with most of your submission
Which part?

EDITED:

I noticed something in your Bull/Bear historical data: Years with Dec readings having highest bullish data, is mostly sustainable going into the next year. We can say this year is most likely bullish with NSE index at a highest level in Dec for year 2017.

Again timing is key....know your exit and entry. Do your own DD, this is me check & balancing my investment rationale.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by stcool(m): 8:01pm On Jan 04, 2018
Please do not get carried away by the current bull run, if you are in any stock stay put and take profit when due, if you are yet to get into any stock careful not to catch a stock retracing from yearly high....

NSE-All Share increased 489 points or 1.28% to 38676 on Thursday January 4 from 38187 in the previous trading session. Historically, the Nigeria Stock Market NSE reached an all time high of 43031.83 in July of 2014 and a record low of 19785.03 in December of 2011

From the chart 1 below we are yet to break the NSE all high even with last years bullish run, more so with the current January run the NSE is yet to break Dec 2017 yearly high (Dec the NSE failed to break the 40,000 mark....it tells me if we run out of steam in January a major retrace is coming.

January/ February periods are usually peak periods before a break in momentum for upside continuation in some stocks and vise versa trade carefully. As seen from chart 2

My research if you have good entry price within the last year - Time to exit is almost here January/Febrauary

Come back in April/June and fish for bargains while accessing overall market sentiment. May this year bring us all profits.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by stcool(m): 3:14pm On Jan 04, 2018
If you no get WAPCO hide...

One more stock on my mind before the pull the hold button until Year end results. But the stock no wan come down.

The way there are pushing things up this week, until next week before I can say if it is sustainable or the usual pump & dump.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by stcool(m):
From my years of experience in the Nigerian Stock Market...as we draw closer to election next year February, kindly avoid kobo kobo stocks for now unless you have the experience.

In fact you can choose not to trade stocks below certain market capitalization, or best is to trade NSE30 INDEX stocks only. You would always get a bargain, wait patiently buy low and exit to lock profit. For me I prefer stocks that meet certain Market CAP only.

When the electioneering process starts to weigh in, they would tell you market is covered but my dear alas...A word is enough for the wise!

Scenario 1 - its either you are in the market now and take profit before the year end results starts coming out, and pick up bargains after result

Scenarios 2 - You wait for year end result to pick up bargains

Whichever you choose, avoid buying into peaks. Prices must retrace no matter the noise and never rule out the fact that some stocks may hit their year end high with this bullish cycle and trend downwards going into their year end result/ election year. Some others may continue breakout with minor retrace due to profit takers. Ensure to be on the right side and may the year bring us more profits.

Success comes from knowing when to exit irrespective of the noise and wait a bargain entry price for fundamentally sound stocks going into the election year
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by stcool(m): 10:54am On Dec 29, 2017
I would buy diamond bank later in 2018 but not until I see their year end result. Reason is that I expect expenses to go up more due to some significant investment the bank is making that should also weigh in on year end result.
Generally its a good stock, if you have it hold dont sell. I no get too much money so, timing is key.

My eyes is on another stock for January 2018...I need price to come lower.

Today it opened 5% upside @N47:25 and the French guys are secretly mopping the offers.

If you are observant since the close of the right issue their MM has been releasing huge offers to scare the faint hearted away and keep the price down in order to for them to buy more at low price but now it seems the journey to the next level is about to COMMENCE.

No stock in the NSE is currently as underpriced as WAPCO... grin grin grin

we saying it from day one. 2018 is our year. First stop N100 then N180 then N200. Same thing I saw when I called fidelity here.

Pls don't cry to me about how I want to push up price, cos we started saying it long ago when it was on offer. Thank you.

Sentiments here is aligned towards 3 stocks - DF, WAPCO, FM

In 2018....using this weeks closing price, the stock that would bring the highest return on investment imo:

1. WAPCO
2. FM
3. DF

I wont defend it now, but would pull this post up in 2018.

bolded was the same reasons PEter saw and motivated to load at N49 and confidently posted it here. price now is 43.50 i know if price can move to 49 or 50 peter will run comot and come back here to post against this same WAPCO
grin
I entered 43.50...Peter entered at N49 makes no difference in the investing world. Another may even buy lower before year end. The value we see is what matters at the end of the day. He may even make more profit than me if he purchased more units at N49. This investing thing entry price is nothing when you know value and exit. Just make your money. QED.
