Eruditor: Lakers were projected 2nd in the west by most analysts last season as well. In fact, ESPN rated them higher than the Raptors. LOL.
Stop quoting "analysts". Open your eyes and shut your heart. Analysts said Bucks will win it all. Even said Bucks will beat GSW with KD. LOOOL. They could not beat the Raptors.
Hope you know that the Rockets just moved up all the rankings because of the Westbrook trade, whereas, me who was talking up their chances, retracted my claims. So being contrarian and subjecting myself to independent yet critical and fact-based thinking should not come to you as a surprise. I usually do this. Lol, analysts projected Lakers to finish above Rockets and OKC? You don't have to formulate lies just to prove your point. But I'm very sure you wrongly projected the Warriors to win it all too, so you're no better than them I'm afraid. And if you ask me whose opinion I should take more seriously, I'm sure you know the answer to that. |

Eruditor: You should know who you are talking to. When I am being emotional with my opinion, you would know. I don't like Rockets enough to big them up. That fact is well-known. I was calling it as I saw it. Colin Cowherd is as big a Lebron fan as any journalist. But even he is not sold on the team. You need to know the difference between someone saying a team won't win and that they don't have good players. If you had 11 Lionel Messi's on one team, they won't win as well. The Lakers team don't have balance and Lebron does not have enough to play heroics to cover those lapses anymore. Even in Cavs, the decline was getting palpable. They eked out a game 7 win against the Celts. And could not take the Lakers from 35 wins to 48 which the Clippers did. So if you are seeing a 20 game swing on the LAL because of your roster. Great for you. I don't see it. I see it with the Clippers. They had 48 before Kawhi and can very well get 12 more with him and PG. Their defence is solid and they have good interior and some perimeter shooting.
Think critically about your LAL and convince yourself that they are as good. You won't convince me. All the major analysts and bookmakers are putting the Lakers in the top 2, or at most top 3, and one of the favorites to win it all. Even the more passionate LeBron haters on this platform are doing the same. But of course, you're an unrepentant LeBron hater and nothing he does pleases you. But also, your opinion in the sport of basketball doesn't count, so who cares what you think?

Larry Bird can't call Jordan the greatest player ever. Same thing with Karl Malone. They rather say KAJ or Bill Russell. And these current players grew up watching Jordan. A grown man like you should say he doesn't understand rather than make up words or put words in someone's mouth when you can't think and grasp simple explanations. If anyone's averaging 24ppg from an achilles injury, it's KD and I gave explanations and he's not on John Wall level when he returns. Simple.
If you want to act brash and ignorant, that's your problem. Lol. What does this even mean? You keep surprising me. And P.S, I have roughly two semesters of anatomy tutelage under my belt, so if you think I have no clue about Achilles then you played yourself. |

You couldn't comprehend so you think I said weight and athleticism is the same thing and opted for a more stupid comparison.
Imagine thinking Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant have the same playing style. Basic thinking eluded you on this one. I'm not bothered. I said it it's now playing style. From athleticism to body weight, and now playing style. You're running out of options. SmooshCHN: Did you see DeMarcus before his injury? Does his game not rely on his strength and weight? Does he have the same body type as Kevin Durant? I would've asked if you understood the body system and what load does to the Achilles but unfortunately you will not understand and you're clearly not willing to. KD and Cousins are same height but different weight. And all that weight is loaded on the knees and achilles. That's why the world is begging Embiid to stop acting like a fool to lose some weight and stop eating burgers before games. If you think KD is going be be like Cousins upon return, I'm here to tell you that you'll be wrong. No to sound annoying but I know what I'm saying here.
Take a look at Paul George's injury.. If that happened to DeMarcus, Embiid, Shaq and people of that mass who are overweight and rely on strength to get buckets, they are as good as reserves not even bench players unlike centers like Gobert, Jokic who don't do as much with their body to be effective. The former rely on their weight, strength to do most of their work and I'm not talking catching lobs.
KD and John Wall are not mates in playing style. They don't play the same way. KD would get buckets in a 3X3 feet cos that's all he needs. John Wall would need 10m . You cannot compare him before or after injury with John Wall who just had a major knee and achilles surgery.
Here's one more if you'll be open minded, anything that takes away LeBron's explosiveness will only be a problem for him bullying his way to the rim but and would only reduce his buckets but he can compensate with his passing abilities. So with or without injury he's still a top 10 player and you cannot compare him to Giannis if they both have the an achilles injury. There's levels to this. LeBron post groin injury last season was still a top 5 player. The argument people will make is that he's declining due to age which could will always be nothing more than an argument no one will win. Lol. It's now weight, no more athleticism. You guys are just ridiculous. If I bring another similarity between them now I'm sure you'll come up with another parameter, probably skin colour or something. Well, lemme give you a reasonable comparison. Before his own achilles injury, Kobe was still a dominant force, averaging 27.3 points on 46 percent shooting that season. After the injury: Kobe played 6, 35, and 66 games in the next three seasons before retiring. He averaged 19 points on just 37 percent shooting from the field. |

Khanben: Boogie was always overweight before his injury. One of the things doctors have pointed to as it regards KD's return is that his body type allows for persons to come back at nearly the same level when they left off. Dominique Wilkins came back even better from an Achilles injury and his body type was all lean muscle nearly like KD. Let's not speculate here, we are going to wait until he returns. For now, let the sleeping dog lie |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:48am On Jul 11, 2019 |
Khanben: The list said in no order bro. Boogie was a top 25 player before injury not a top 10 or even top 15, so it is very visible then after an Achilles injury the drop off in ability will push him out of the top 25 players category. KD on the other hand is a top 2 or top 3 player depending on your listing. Even if he comes back at 80-85% he will still be a top 25 player. Let's lengthen the list. Is boogie a top 50 player now? And make no mistake about it, Boogie was top 15 before his injury. Is Boogie back to 85% of his best, or is it only KD that has the ability to return to 85%? Boogie got his injury at the age of 27 and look how he is. KD got injured at the age of 30, so I'm not out of place to think that KD's trajectory will follow that of Boogie, or even worse. |

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:04pm On Jul 10, 2019 |
Khanben: KD and Wall are not in the same universe at all especially with the injuries they both suffered. Wall is an undersized guard who can't shoot and whose game is predicated on athleticism. KD's game on the other hand even if he slows down upon his return will still be able to shoot over any opposition. No pundit will bet money on there being 25 NBA players who will be better than KD when he comes back, but almost all take that same bet if the player is John Wall. Y'all should just stop with this athleticism nonsense. Every players game, bar the big men probably, is based on athleticism. Abi is it another sport they are playing? Like I said, we'd have to wait until KD comes back and prove himself before we say he's still a top player. |

With all the usage, lack of efficiency and stat-padding. Do you pray for a brain during your spare time? Why do you think nobody talked about Russell's triple double but instead praised PG 13 on the same team or why did Harden not win MVP in spite of his historic numbers? Three syllables: Stat- Pad- ding. That is the answer.
Ok. Father time is not slowing him down. Make we dey watch. I am eager to hear the excuses you would make. I already know Vogel will be blamed for it. Which reminds me, last season, Lakers were ranked higher than the Raptors before the season began. Then they did not even make the playoffs whilst the Raptors won the chip.
I almost wanted to ignore the rubbish about CP3 but may be just may be there is still an aspect of your brain that is not maggot infested. CP3's game was never based on the things age steals from players which is why the Rockets had no fear in giving him a huge contract. If your analysis of the Rockets chances are based on CP3 you are just typing for the sake of it.
I remember when they said the young Lakers core won 35 games without Lebron and so with him they will win 50 games. EL-O-EL I stopped reading the moment I saw stat-padding. Now I know you're just trolling. |

Finding it hard to decide on some names though. But in no order. Lebron, KD, AD, Steph, Kawhi, PG13, Klay, Harden, Giannis, Embiid, Jokic, Lillard, Kyrie, Westbrook, KAT, Jimmy Butler, Aldridge, Deroazan, Bradley Beal, Ben Simmons, Luca Doncic, Donovan Mitchell, Kemba Walker, Kyle Lowry, and finally Kevin love. Those are the very things that father time exposes the fastest. I ignored your daft post about a groin injury because you are the same idiot who did not listen to GSWs own injury so save that for the marines.

You are not retarded. You and the other schizo dumbo are sharing the same brain which is majorly air and nothing else. You keep making your points like a dumb analyst to be honest. You're Rob Parker 2.0. You say LeBron cant shoot? Lol. And how much did father time expose his barrelling into players and getting to the rim last season? He had better numbers than the season before, so unless you can come up with evidence that father time is slowing him down, don't come up here giving me rhetoric analysis. And Chris Paul is the second best player on that Rockets team so it's not out of place to zero in on him. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:12am On Jul 10, 2019 |
Eruditor: What changed about the Rockets? Apart from losing to GSW (who have their button) and perhaps the seeming discord between the star players they were 65 wins in 2017, 50+ wins in 2018 with all their injuries and tied 2-2 with GSW (With KD still on the team). The fact of the matter is, between 2017-18 only GSW would have beat the Rockets. They play this Raptors without injuries and they would have won. Now people have kept them aside. I don't see anything to shout about Denver. They are the ones who look like regular season hipsters. They had no reason to lose a game 7 against the Blazers without Nurkic last season. Perhaps, maybe that is why I don't respect them as such. Philly definitely improved with Al Horford joining. But they look top heavy as well so I know they are good but that is their asterisk. There is absolutely nothing the Lakers will add that will significantly change their fortunes. Nothing. The better players in the trade block have found franchises. Don't let this fake analysts create a narrative that won't see the light of day. Ask yourself one question, if Kawhi had stayed back in Toronto and the Clippers got some of the players that now went to the Lakers will anyone start telling us that the Clippers improved? So what changed?
And please don't tell us about AD and Bron improving people around them. We know that to be almost completely false. See George Hill and Rodney Hood for example. We also saw AD in Pelicans with a coach they claimed was the brain behind GSWs 2014/15 title. So what changed? What will he do differently? It's funny how you keep saying LeBron is getting old and at the same time asking what changed about the Rockets. Is that not flat out ignorance/hatred for LeBron? Like he's the only one that gets old. Lol. For you one more year for LeBron probably makes him more useless(which isn't the case if you look at the rising stats in the past few years), but one more year for CP3 and he remains the same, or even better. |

All the "I won't underestimate Lebron" expired in 2017. Be real with yourself. If you were so sure about this team, why did you want Kawhi? Lol, LeBron had a season changing groin injury, don't act like you don't know. But it's OK, he's Superman in your eyes so I get it. Us trying to get Kawhi was us trying to be 99.9% sure of winning the title. We've been grossly irrelevant for way too long and I can understand the desperation. The thing is, a lot of people get swayed by the media and in a way they direct the fear factor teams command. See how everyone feared the Bucks last season or the Lakers before the season began.
Nobody said that Lakers squad was not good. Shows ran themes asking if the Lakers team could take GSW to game 7. A useless team that did not even make the playoffs. You're changing the narrative. Before last season began the media was talking about how our team had so many strong-headed players like Lance, Rondo, Beasley and Bron, and they all felt the team won't be coachable. The best team in the NBA currently is the Clippers. The next best team, as things stand, between Philly and the Rockets. The third best team is most likely the Bucks.
