Just saw this page, I am 25, well I am a Corp member,m too, I have like 6m in my account, wondering if I could get four Toyota carmy 05 and give out for rental, I mean Uber. I have few questions to ask.
Who owns those cars at the end? Uber or me
Hope I will get sincere, ethical, virtuous, honest drivers easily?
Who will pay for maintenance, fuel etc?
I am a very quiet and I hate being cheated, hope I will get 20k per week for each car with no stories , I don't ask for much, I am considerate.
Hope no stories about car theft at the end because some people are weird etc
Bro go back and read from page 350. Don't just jump into a business you don't know the in and out just because you have the cash.

You are all getting wrong. When a police knows you are uber/taxify driver that's when he is quick to let you go as long as you have not committed any traffic offence;because he knows your papers are complete. He can only beg you for money.
So true. I claim uber driver even when I'm not working. It has even saved me from the dreaded SARS numerous times.

Open your oil cover, check for sludge inside the oil cover. That sludge will eventually kill that engine. It is a gradual but sure process.

Besides, the synthetic lasts longer in the car and gives you better fuel economy.
Chairman I kuku know these things. Will try and do the right thing henceforth before I run out of luck grin

what oil and oil grade was used.
Recommended engine oil is 5w30 full synthetic to cover maximum mileage of 5,000miles.

Get involved in your vehicle repairs.
Boss we all know the full synthetic is the recommended oil but its not cheap at all. I use the normal 4500 Mobil on all my cars. I have never had any engine issues and I hope and pray it remains that way. My Camry muscle is going to two years now.

So far my drivers are delivering 40k a week on a 2.0 liter engine. When the drivers were making money during Xmas period. Did partners ask them to increase their rental?. Cars that are 2003 till maybe 2005 rental should be 35k . That I agree on. But as many cars coming into the platform . Many are living too. Uber / taxify are blocking a lot of drivers. Due to bad cars . Has more cars flood the market, riders will ultimately decide which cars will stay via rating process . More cars flooding the market equals picky riders . One of my drivers was blocked by taxify. The reason the A/c was not working. And also the car had shock issue. The car still looks very good appearance wise . Time will tell on these platform . Only cars from 07 will have a better advantage to stay.
It will eventually be quality over quanity in due time
Bro I am not saying partners should start giving out their cars for 35k. I was only replying to that partner that was getting worried about the sharp increase in number of cars being registered on the platform.

My point is that if push comes to shove, we will only have to reduce remittance from 40k to 35k and doing that doesn't mean we still won't break even and make profit.

In other words, more cars are welcomed. It won't affect the profitability of the business.

I would like to see how your Civic fare, might consider it when its time to buy another car.

How much have you spent on maintenance?
Zero Naira. It was bought Tokunbo. The driver did the change of oil from his pocket last month out of appreciation.

Good arguement.

With the uber platform on an inefficient engine over 2.0liter, driver will be working for uber and fuel stations.

It is not easy to make a decent profit on a weekday unless you target surge areas and work late.
On Friday sat and sunday, it's usually back to back trips, driver can get his weekly rental and saveup something decent for him self.

With strategic positioning, and a good attitude, you get lots of offline trips, and tips. Also you need luck on your side.

repairs are inevitable if you buy a brand new car or a used car, the difference is in maintenance. The brand new car will have less repairs, but still susceptible to tyre blow outs due to bad roads, damaged caused by obstructions on the road that could damage condenser,
radiator and oil pan. Both cars are also not immune to unforseen accidents that cause down time.

Keeping drivers happy is key. drivers on an achievable rental will go home when tired, while those on unrealistic 40-50k rentals will continue driving fighting sleep. From experience such drivers make poor decisions and car gets totaled.

There are drivers on this platform on only uber, and achieve their weekly reasonable rentals.

about breaking even. It is possible if every one stops looking @ E-hailing like if it is MMM. I am thinking of lowering my rental rates to keep drivers happy @ same time get them more involved with maintenance.

From my view if each vehicle made 100k per month consistently car would have paid for its self in 1year and I still have my Principal.

I maintain my vehicles personally so my views will differ from yours.

But making a profit is very possible when down time is reduced significantly.

finally I don't see any one shouting bring ur cars to me I will pay 50k per week........

Talking about lowering prices, I think its inevitable. With more cars coming on the platform at an aggressive rate as is being experienced now, we can only make space for each other by lowering remittance to 35k for 1.8ltr engine and below. We will all still break even in no time.
I already reduced remittance to 35k since January, and I believe it will take about 400-500 new cars to affect my and my drivers' earnings.
A corolla I bought for 1.5m in January is already at almost 250k in just 7weeks. 35k is not bad after all.

Good evening house. I must sincerely commend every member of this group most especially, those who have
honestly shared their experiences & opinions here.
Please I'll need your honest advice. I just registered with uber & the car I'll be driving is Camry 08(muzzle) with weekly payment of 40k. Please is this OK? And if not, how much can U advise me to take it that I'll still be making my own money as a driver? Thanks.
Waiting for your prompt & honest advice.
Muscle for 40k? Don't you dare. Take it for 35k while you look for another 1.8ltr engine car.

If someone is unfortunate to listen to someone like you, they end up achieving nothing.
You are very stupid for this senseless comment. I am entitled to my opinion, if you don't agree you can simply crawl back to the cave you came from.

I started the business with the same Camry 2007 and from driving it myself I have bought two other corollas(Tokunbo) in one year that I now give out on rental and HP. "Unfortunate" and my name can't appear in the same sentence.

I know from experience that Camry 07 and above is not the kind of car you give someone on rental. You get less (35k) compared to a corolla (40k) and you spend more maintaining a Camry.

NB: If you don't want you and your generation to be truly unfortunate, don't quote me again.

Collect it on trial for two weeks and see if it pays. No harm in trying. Someone picked me up with a 2008 Lexus RX350 on uber last month. I'm sure he's not stupid.

Safe place as defined by the driver or the passenger?
Why didn't he take her back to the pick up location?
Would he have done the same thing to a passenger whom he's sure could overpower him in a fight?

He is suing after breaching contract, taking to an unknown location (his house) against her will - after which she removed key from ignition, touching her without her consent - after which she used the pepper spray on him.
As much as I pity the guy, he took too many wrong moves.
According to you, you have no right to wrestle your property from someone because she is a lady? He touched her in the course of getting his keys from her.

Sometimes, court decisions are not logical.
I don't care about what transpired between those two, the focus is on the rape/kidnap allegation. Touching her to retrieve his key is not prove enough to label him rapist.
If they don't settle out of court and the guy has a good lawyer, the guy will win this case.

Why the emphasis on her speaking Yoruba?
If he doesn't understand the language, how did he know she was relating their location to the person on the other end of the line?
Why assume she was calling people to harm him when he was the one who disagreed to continue with the trip under the guise of not knowing her destination while the lady claims he requested to have the trip in cash or offline?
His big mistake was taking the girl to his house. Who does that?
His argument that he drove to a safe place which was not even far from the lady's pick up location is tenable in court. If his house is where he feels safe, fine!. Remember he is the plaintiff and he is suing the lady for defamation. Its the lady that needs to prove beyond reasonable doubt the plaintiff is truly a rapist and kidnapper he alleged him to be.

Remember she didn't only accuse him in the heat of the moment when they had the misunderstanding, she published the Guy's picture and called him a rapist/kidnapper on social media hours after the whole saga. If there is anything like "premeditated defamation of character" then she should be guilty of that as well.

Its either the guy goes to jail for raping and kidnapping or he gets discharged, acquitted and of course compensated. Your guess is as good as mine.

Let me start by saying thank you all for your support so far.
However, my name is Henry Nnaemeka and I’m neither a Rapist nor a Kidnapper. This is my Story.
I’m a taxify driver/ partner, on Thursday the 25th of January 2018 between the hours of 12midnight and 1am I was on my way home from work when I received a taxify rider request from a Ibarhim Eletu Way Which was coincidentally where I was at that time and also same estate I stay, I decided to take that last trip before I go home to rest.
On getting to the pick-up location To pick up the rider (Miss Shola Fapson) she got In my vehicle and just as I started the trip I noticed there wasn’t a destination for the trip so I politely asked her for the destination to know where I’m going to and if it will be convenient for me at that time of the night but she refused to tell me and instead asked me to drive out that she will tell me later, I politely refused and asked severally for the destination but she wouldn’t tell me rather she ordered me in a harsh tone to “Move this car”! On hearing this, I was surprised why she would hold back her destination from me and also ordered me to move the car. It was at this point I told her I wasn’t going anymore, I ended the trip immediately and asked her to come down from the car since we were still at the pick-up location but to my Greatest surprise she refused to come down and then started making some phone calls in Yoruba Language to some people whom I didn’t know disclosing our location to them. At this point, I got scared and was trying to be on the safe side so I drove the car to the front where the estate had a security light which was a few seconds from the pickup location. On getting to the safe place, I came down from the car and politely opened the door and gently asked her to come down from the car. She blatantly refused again and started with her phone calls again.
It was at this point I overheard her conversation on the phone saying she has my car keys and gave out location again to the unknown person at the other end of the phone, I felt really threatened at this point because I couldn’t understand why she would take my car keys and then disclose our location to people I didn’t know. I had to struggle with her to get my car keys from her hands. It was in the process of struggling with her, she sprayed a chemical substance (pepper spray) in my eyes.
I succeeded in getting my keys from her but before I could struggle with my sight and call for help she took off and was nowhere to be found. Some concerned residents and my sisters who heard me shout and call for help came to my rescue. It took me about 45 mins to regain my sight clearly and was taken to my apartment to get some rest only for me to wake up this morning and receive loads of phone calls from friends and family saying I’ve been labelled a KIDNAPPER AND RAPIST. However, the issue has been reported to Taxify and the necessary steps have been taken as shown in their press release. I want to use this medium to thank you family and friends who stood with me in this bad time and also state that I respect women and I am totally against any form of abuse against women.
Thank you all.
#ISTANDFORJUSTICE
This guy is not a rapist or kidnapper but he is in big trouble. He should never have laid his hands on that girl. The girl has video evidence on her Snapchat, the guy got physical with the girl. No matter how crazy a rider is, violence should never be employed.

I've always thought of a dash cam, I think the time is now.

After the first batch of containers where moved to the north from apapa, that train never came back again. As a biz man, never be scared of change, mek do of now...the future is now
Never leave out the FUTURE. The govt didn't get it in the past doesn't mean they will not get it now. They just might. And even if they dont, there is a concept called "equilibrium" in economics. The more cars being registered on uber, the closer we are getting to the point of "equilibrium".
Diversify your portfolio and INVEST WISELY.

Drivers talking about putting their lives on the line. Nigga you have no idea what some partners put on the line to buy that car you wanna drive. No idea the hours of hustle and sleepless nights he went through to buy that car.

I have a soldier friend who puts his car on uber while he is away in Borno, do you know how many years he served in the army before he could put money together to buy the car? Some partners are yahoo boys risking jail time to get the money to buy that car. Mr Dru dey Yankee working his ass off to send cars to naija and you wanna tell him how to run his P?

WTF do y'all think you're bringing to the table when you even make more than the partner weekly and he still gets to fix the car when you drive it aground?
My dad has been in transport business for over 35yrs and old man is strict AF. Drivers can't even look him in the eyes, you default for a day and you're sacked on the spot. Y'all uber drivers have it too easy aswear.

I said this same thing long before he started his fleet mgt coy. From when he started sharing all these tips to make 120k weekly. I know he is being kind to drivers but imagine if like 500-1000 drivers use the same strategy, how possible is it for everyone to make 120k weekly.

I'm not saying all naija used cars are not good but we seem to all agree that you need some luck to get a very good one. If your budget can only buy a naija used for now, please go ahead and pray for luck. Your friend is one person and thank God it worked out for him. This forum gives you a variety of experience not just the good one. I started this business January last year and it was the worst start anyone could have in a business. I bought two naija used cars, corolla and 06 civic. Had to sell both in less than six months and used the money to buy one Tokunbo Corolla. I'm NEVER EVER going near a naija used car again, it really slowed down my progress this year but Alhamdulillah for the new momentum.

One of my drivers was giving me the no fuel story. Since my own car is not available for now, I collected the car from him, queued for fuel yesterday from 4am, finally filled my tank and four 25ltr kegs at normal price without any bribe what so ever at 11am. Started work with the car at 5pm, made 25k by 2am with just half tank.

If the scarcity persists for a few more days, I can only imagine how much I'm gonna make in a week.
Drivers need to know that some of us will drive all our cars ourselves if it's possible. We are that hungry and hardworking at the same time
