omopapa: This (bolded) is a faster but expensive route because it will take another 6-9months to tidy her finances and to “present” a tie to Nigeria thanks omo papa. Yes, I thought of students route but too expensive to afford at once..I was thinking the few months childcare savings from her visitation would be helpful for paying tuition fees, but the ECO got my code |

EngrSaks: She needs to go back to the drawing board and try to tidy up her financial outflow and inflow...she needs to build a clean and healthy 5-6 month bank statement
She must prove financial stability and also show ties to naija...make it look like she cant wait to come back naija... thank you. Thinking student visa should be better ? |

KOVIC19COVID20: Very high likelihood she will still be denied. She hasn’t shown (by means of evidence) a compelling tie to home. If you do not show her bank statements, how will you proof that she is so comfortable at hone financially that she is able to afford hundreds (May, thousands) of ££ for a ‘Holiday’? ‘Holiday’ from what? Work? Job?
Naah….
PS: if it were that ‘easy’ all of us for don ‘import’ our unmarried younger sisters to come on holidays…. (I mean no harm). Thank you, but she is not paying anything, we are sponsoring her trip. What is the best thing to say she is coming for? |

Thank you all for the advice. We actually invited her to come over for holiday and tourism and we wrote a supporting statement that she is definitely going back to continue her work. The bank statement was the main issue as pointed out. Is it wise to re-apply but without using the bank statement again? |

KOVIC19COVID20: Let me put myself in the shoes of the ECO 1. Single, unmarried young woman. Loose ties to home. Red flag.
2. Earnings per year: Suggests she is not gainfully employed. Red flag.
3. Bank statements: 142 naira closing statement on some days. Suggests she is not financially stable. Red flag.
4. Wanting to visit the UK for holidays. Holidays? When her account statement shows that she can barely live comfortably in Nigeria? Red flag.
5. Has applicant shown proof that she will be motivated strongly enough to go back to Nigeria after 2 months? NO. From evidence provided, does it appear she could hit the UK and get missing? Yes.
Risk Assesment: HIGH RISK.
Visa: Denied. |

tushqueen: I'm interested in this visa refusal. If I may ask, is it compulsory to show the applicant's bank statement when she is fully sponsored? I think that was my mistake. But I was trying to show that I always send her money everymonth just as a sister. |

Goodafternoon. I applied for my younger sister for 6 months visiting visa but she was refused. She is a graduate, worked with a private hospital in Nigeria for 1 year prior to January 2021. She left her job, moved to stay with my Parents as Home Care Assistant because they are old and now wanted to visit for holiday. I and My husband are sponsoring her trip but I was disappointed based on the reason for refusing her visa. Why are they interested in her bank details ??

farous: Can a graduate with over 13 years working experience accept job offer of N85,000 monthly salary simply because the person's company had challenges and is out of job.
The daily transport to and fro to work is atleast N1,500 and such a person will still have to buy and eat morning and afternoon food, dress well and has a family. Above all, because of traffic and distance to workplace, such a person will be leaving house atleast by 5am and coming home can reach 10pm.
Is it worth it?,Kindly advise Save money on transportation cost and time by renting an accommodation next to your workplace. |

Morning guys. First off, I'm sorry for tagging so many people.
Thing is I need some solid advice. Now, I came to the UK for studies in February and I plan to be here for a long time. But my girlfriend of many years lives and work in Naija. She holds a BA in English and teaches in a British Secondary school. Lately, we've been discussing routes she can take to get here but she's declared her wish to continue with the same English teaching profession here. I've told her times without number that it doesn't really make sense for a foreigner, whose first language isn't English, would come here and teach native kids regardless of her qualification.
I've tried to advise her to consider signing up for a master's programme in a degree that would qualify her to work a job on the UK Shortage occupations list.
What do you guys think? Please we need as many viable options as we can get. If you're seeing this post and know someone who's moniker I missed out and might be able to share some knowledge, kindly cc them to call their attention to this post.
Thank you guys. With her BA English plus British teaching experience, I am sure GTCS won't register her. STEM is the only discipline with uniformity in curriculum. I have some people Teaching English in Nigeria, it is completely different from UK curriculum unlike Maths and sciences. This is our assessment period and I saw some of the exams that the students are writing. My advice is for her to apply as your dependant and come here first, then apply for jobs like care assistant to start with. She can later look at Assessment Only route to QTS in England or TQPR route to GTCS in Scotland to be retrained as an English Teacher. https://www.uhi.ac.uk/en/courses/pgdip-teaching-qualification-practitioner-route/https://www.uhi.ac.uk/en/courses/pgdip-teaching-qualification-practitioner-route/ |
