jesmond3945: Hi Fam, what is the fastest and easiest way of getting part time jobs? I think online application is very slow. Search for the company recruiting near you or any care homes either advertising or not , give them a phone call, choose the option to speak with the manager, introduce yourself and go straight to the points, tell them you are living not too far from where they are located and inform them that you would like to come and collect their application form in person, fill the form and return it back same day, they will check and ask you to come next 2-3 days for the interview, if you pass, they can give you your employment letter next day and close the online job advertisement.. |

lightest: Hello my people, I need ur advice and sincere see one like u always do.
If I want to learn a car mechanic, do u thing it advicable considering my age at over 40 and considering that where I live(Norwich City) is white dominated will they patronise me if I eventually learn the work because of racism.
Also, do car mechanics make more money compare to their counter parts like plumber and electrician?
Note, am not thinking of moving midland because its easier to train kids here
Thanks Yes, Apprenticeship route is the best bet for you. |

I am graduate of Bsc(Ed). chemistry, would like to relocate to the UK, what course do you think I can go for to enter UK I want to study , was planing on going for pgce until I read on one of your thread that TRCN can be used there but then is the pgce course still valid, I would also want to come with my spouse MSc Inclusive Education is a better alternative . You can apply to Scotland instead of England so that your TRCN can be accepted for GTCS registration. |

For those that are already qualified with GTCS or those currently doing PGDE. Please apply for the ongoing NTP recruitment. Your Location does not matter as long as you are a good Teacher. I am in Scotland and just got an offer for the England NTP via remote Teaching. https://nationaltutoring.org.uk/

olaness: Please I'd like to know, how can one who has an OND in electrical engineering, a City and Guilds certificate and has worked for more than 7 years as an electrical technician with NNPC qualify to work in the UK as one?
Any info will be greatly appreciated. This is a very good and lucrative job. I think the best option is to just start afresh. Most of the electical equipment are very different from Naija style and UK is more of SMART technology. Apply to companies as an apprentice where you can earn salary while also training as an electrician, most of these companies can do visa sponsorship for you and bring you over as a student. I am not sure you can even apply as SPARK with all your Naija experience |

Time to let RAF know that Plane is not bus or car which anyone can just hold the steering and drive without PROPER training or license . Let these pilots be properly trained and don't let them bribe their ways through school. RIP to all of them.
When I say PROPER training, going to school is not part of the training I am talking about the real Professional work training , how about continuing development courses? How about workshops? |

Magdagascariens: MSc, Agric Economics.
Been doing personal business since I left school.
You can still advice pls.
Thanks for the reply. I am not sure you can use work experience to get a skilled job sponsorship visa if you don't have the right certificate. All those courses you are doing are part of CPD for health discipline and it can never count as a proper certificate in Learning Disability. You can consider doing some diploma course in that field to stand a better chance |

1beat: My passport issue with immigration officer I met through a Nairaland please advise me and others should learn as well.
On the 15th of November 2020, I message a guy I met on nairaland that he should please connect me with Immigration officer who assisted him on DOB correction on his passport(date of birth). He said no problem he forward his number to me on Whatsapp. I called the immigration officer who work at Immigration office Abuja I explain my situation to him and he said is not an issue for him to handle but my payment is 150k I beg him to 130k which is the same amount the guy that connected me to him paid. I told him I can only afford 130k and I will still need to transport myself to Abuja and due to insecurity in Nigeria i will have to come by Air He said no problem I demand for his Facebook name to confirm his identity. Initially, he felt reluctant but later gave it to me. I went through his facebook , sent him friend request and copy his picture. I called a friend who base in Abuja I sent him the phone number, transport money and picture of the immigration officer so that he can help me to go the the head office in Abuja and confirm his identity my friend did and he called me back that he works in Abuja is even two star officer that he stylishly discuss with him and he should be able to do it. Following week I called the immigration officer request for his account number in which I sent him 100k Immidiately he received alert. He called me and acknowledge the payment and ask me again our many years is the gap I told him 4 years he said he can't collect 130k that is 150k I beg him that he should have told me before I send the money after long discussion in which he remind me that am collecting my passport within one to two weeks time after capturing and is 64page of 10 validity so for the work to be fast you have to pay 140k I agree and said to him no problem. ( Dated 22/11/2020)
We agree to meet on 11th of December 2020 for capturing and to balance him and he said no problem. I book a flight from Lagos to Abuja landed in Abuja went straight to the immigration office I didn't met him in he told me that he went out that junior officer will attend to me. However, The Immigration officer called me and directed me to glass house building to meet him. We exchange greets I handover all my documents to him include my expired passport and did the capturing waited for him to come back and I told him I will balance him 40k when my passport is ready he told me that it means I don't want to collect my passport within two weeks again he's the one handling Senator Omo Ogege daughter passport and he intend to do it with my own and to make it easier for me because his coming to Lagos for Christmas before 24 / 12 / 2020 he will help me to bring it along I need to pay the money fast his going to shillow that day his a worker in Winners Church he can't afford to miss afternoon program I became confuse because he look serious but I fail to detect him that is a big lier, he's glorifying himself for me to take him serious I paid him and I remind him his promises. 64 page, and he should bring it along to Lagos I quickly left to airport in order not to miss my flight back to Lagos. Since that day the man character as change toward me anytime I call him I will start hearing stuff like am driving, I lose my sister, am just going to office call me back, I just intend to call you that you will collect your passport next week. around February that I need the passport I was pressurising him he kept ensuring me that there is know problem that am getting it soon today tomorrow till I lose the opportunity since then I will call him he will refuse to pick my call I become tired up till now I'm yet to collect my passport. recently I met another guy on nairaland who also had encounter with him refer the officer as evil and explain how he almost reuin is life. I see the red flag but I failed to withdraw please advise on what to do I will need it in 2month time Share his picture, name and phone number here. Also share his Facebook page here. By tomorrow , they will start blaming Buhari for all the problems in Nigeria, everyone is contributing towards the problem in Nigeria. |

twizzie: Some things are easier said than done.. Living in Nigeria is different from going to visit. If you live in Nigeria, some things will have to give. My kid sister after months of pre-degree was given admission @ Uni Ilorin.. I mean she saw her name on the admission list. Fast forward to going back to pay acceptance fee and register, name don disappear. Someone probably swapped her name with another person's name. My dad angrily enrolled her in a private Uni. He could afford it, otherwise, that would mean another one year at home. For those who cannot afford it, will you keep on waiting when you know your child is well qualified? I was robbed some years back, I still had to pay Police to get police report after losing so much.. It is easy to sit behind a screen and say let us stop giving excuses, if you are in some situations, you simply do not have a choice. This is the best I have ever read here |

LagosismyHome: I think he said she started but had to leave at 2nd year....so if its pictures she can have the ones for those two years . I never saw my graduation booklet or attended for my first degree .. although I have NYSC pictures
So maybe I could have lied . I think its possible especially if the girl supposedly finished long time before she married so you don't have a certificate or statement of result or any school file at all ? How sure are we that this is just the only mistake she has done ? I guess so many hidden truth if the man can go deeper than this. |

justwise: Are you for real? How do you even begin to blame the husband here? Nah! You got this wrong Even as a friend, you can't fake it for me that you are a graduate. Common! so many things are involved in 4-7 years of studying at the University. How about your pictures when you're in school? No transcripts or graduation booklet ? How about certificate? No course mate or lecturer? So the Parents too are not informed that their daughter didn't graduate from university? Hahahaha... this must be a PlayStation 5 |
