mamacajah: but passion is esential here right? because this field requires much commitment. My parents are retired teachers and now that I am teaching my children during this lockdown.. I really appreciate the patience teachers use to do their work. Men, e no easy oh! Yes very true. You must have passion for it, but everyone is potentially born a Teacher. My parents are retired teachers too and I so much love the field, I developed the passion for teaching at early age even though they scared me to go for medicine and surgery. Academically, I am fit for medicine, but I don't have any passion for it at all. It was a war at first, but they later accepted the fate. Home schooling is not a small job o, you need a lot of patience and commitment. Most especially teaching your kids by yourself, kudos to you for the good work |

mamacajah: what of someone with statistics (pure and applied) as 1 st degree with no teaching experience? asking for a friend... nice discussion by the way, we are following.. Yes, it is possible. Maths is subdivided into different part. So Numeracy should be under statistics. Some OFSTED highly rated schools employed teachers that are well trained in this particular field to handle this part for their students. |

omopapa: Not as easy as it sounds Cus the behaviour of these kids can’t be compared with those in Nigeria Yes oh. Children have full confidence and boldness here. They will always tell you their right and any small thing is abuse. You don't touch or beat or even raise your voice against them. Their play is always scary , Best is just to overlook most things, go to class, teach them and leave the school at the closing time. |

Sugarkay: Its B.sc(ed) n I have my trcn Okay..it would have been a good option if you are married and have a wife who can apply for the tier 4 student Visa, while you apply for dependant and work out your UK teaching licence here. Another option is ONLY if you are still interested in Education discpline, Please try and look for any aspect of economics for your MSc to get the tier 4 student visa, come over here and start any available job. Then apply to get the UK teaching licence, and start applying to high schools, let them know your 20 hours work limit, and tell them you can work full time during your holiday. After few months of working with them, if you are satisfied with the working environment, request that the school should help change your tier 4 to tier 2 work Visa so as to stay longer with them. If you are good, Your principal or school head will be happy to take your matter up to the local council for tier 2 consideration because your salary is already above the threshold and that's all. |

LagosismyHome: True each person know what they can carry. I am not advising anybody to work or not work.......
Just highlighted the rules or update on the home office official website. These are unprecedented times so periodically the homeoffice will be updating (adding or removing) as they watch conditions in the UK . Yes, true. Working and writing my dissertation was so stressful for me that I was scared at first, but was happy due to the lockdown at my work and I finished before the deadline. But some students are applying for ECS now due to the nature of their work and inability to finish their dissertation |

If there is no clear guidelines from UK, I won't advice anyone to resume for online classes. The network is poor in Nigeria, seeing is believing when you come over here, the peaceful environment will even accelerate your brain to learn and study fast, while gathering your UK work experience at the same time.
But Once you start with online classes, it may be difficult to convert online class to real life class at the end of the day, and they may just ask you to come over for your graduation in UK at the end of your study.
Keep your money and learn a skill while waiting for the goodnews. Car wash, Electrician job, hair dresser, Barbing, etc |

LagosismyHome: Yes...
The first Home Office annoucement on their website removed restriction for tier 4, it black and white there on March 24.
the only extra caution is that they put out an additional guidance on April 20 qualifying it to essentially state that if your studies have been suspended, you are treated for work purposes as if you are on vacation, so may work full time and then removing 20 for some medical worker .... Also, this is very good but risky. Working full time and writing dissertation same time ( for September entry) . It's a very risky juicy offer and if not careful, someone may end up with Diploma instead of MSc certificate |

England is a complicated one to start with. I am just waiting for this lockdown to be over, before getting the Teaching license in England too. It is better to start with scotland and later apply from scotland to England for Teaching license than to start with England route. |

Deltayankeeboi: Yeah thanks MA am.
I am already a student of uniben. Presently 200level. I'm studying Environmental biology.
I would have loved to travel out and start again. Initially I had Canada in mind but the financial commitments involved is something I really can't afford.
So I just wanted to try if scholarship could help me achieve this dream.
I'm just seeking for an undergraduate scholarship to apply for. Germany, UK. Or any scholarship for any country you are more conversant with.
What are the possibilities of one really getting a fully funded international scholarship coming from this part of the world.
Is it purely, a try your luck game?
I am very much interested. I spent a whole day going through this topic and I have visited all the links but most of them, the deadline has passed for 2020.
While some, I couldn't fully comprehend the write up.
I just want to understand the basis of actually applying for an international scholarship as I understand it is not an easy process and I personally do not know anyone who has gotten it. Actually I don't know anyone schooling abroad on scholarship.
I'm very much interested.
Thanks. I appreciate your reply. check this please ... https://www.afterschoolafrica.com/20986/nottingham-trent-university-scholarship-undergraduate/amp/ |
