That verse started from verse 22 and was talking about marriage and 24 clearly was talking about conducting marriage. Subtracting married women from that equation is telling you that married women are forbidden however for captives, their married status no longer holds. Now they have joined categories of people you can marry.

You have another verse of the Qur'an that says

Marry those of you that are single, (whether men or women), and those of your male and female slaves that are righteous. 24:32

You know another interesting fact: Bukhari collected over 600 000 hadiths, only 7000+ were graded!!! So no, don't come at me with hadiths ever unless you understand the complexity, the differences amongst Muslims or the Qur'an .
