It doesn't matter who pays the affidavit of support. Only your wife's drivers license or voter ID is required. In my case, elder brother A paid my AOS but elder brother B was my petitioner and all we needed was brother B's drivers license. |

Becky36: She said they didn't ask her any questions about the kids, only asked if she was married, of which she answered no and that is where the problem lies. This is where the problem is. You don't lie on your application. She'll have to consult with a legal rep for this one. |

Becky36: The thing is that she didn't go to the interview with her family because she was afraid they might ask why she didn't inform them earlier, now she's looking for a way to bring them. Please did you inform the embassy about your marriage status and did your family attend the interview with you. Yes, I attended the interview with my family. She should apply for her family with her green card. |

Becky36: Happy new year everyone. Please I have a friend that her sister filled for when she was single but in the process of it she got married and had two kids but never updated USCIS about her marriage or kids due to lack of information. Now she's in the US while her family is in Nigeria, what's the best way to bring her family to US since she already got her green card. Will appreciate the advice cause her kids are still very young. Thank you It's funny that she'll travel without her family, unless you're not telling the story right. My brother applied for me and my sis. We're both married with kids. The application got approved last year and we both moved to the US with our families. You'll have a problem moving with family only if that restriction is stated in your visa category but sibling application is F4 and the principal applicant can relocate with wife and kids below 18. |

Wilsub: Hello, got to the US on christmas day, point of entry was smooth at Atlanta, we were asked to sit down and our passport was collected, after waiting for about 1hr, we were called and asked for the address of where we r staying and my sisters phone no. My grandma travelled with us and we requested for a wheel chair assistance which made us all go through the fast track ,we almost missed our connecting flight.we had plenty luggage and had to pay for 2 extra bags. we went to the social security office today to apply for our number but was told to wait for 2 weeks, cos most times they send the number to the house and if they process one it becomes double and if we dont get it after 2 WEEKS we can come back. The weather here isnt too cold. You're welcome to Georgia. Wish you and your family the best. |

mamatwiny: Wow. I just came across this thread today.
My mum's elder brother( same mum but different dads ) is a USA citizen. Can he file family immigrant visa for me? Or must it be immediate family? I think he has enough funds to proof support .
What is the average processing time for this visa?
My grandma died a USA PR. My grandma also has a younger bros in USA who is a citizen and is richer than mums bro. Can he file for me? I need to escape this country by any legal means. I don't have funds to escape via studies so I am on the look out for other means.
I need to know if any of them can file for me so that I can know how to direct my prayer for 2020.
Editted- must a petitioner have co sponsor? Who is a cosponsor? Bro, your uncle can't file for you, I'm sorry. The only way is for him to adopt you legally which means your mom and dad have to give you away(just on paper though). Then you'll be his son or legal guardian. |

Oluwajosef: Our cspa was approved today 25/11/2019 after 5months and interview date given. Do we need to print statement of account for immigrant visa(f4)?
Please need your response Congrats. You don't need the statement. What you need are pictures of your family with petitioner in some, as many as you can get. Then current tax papers of your petitioner. And make sure to say the truth about any and everything. |

After I lost my job (naija wahala), I applied for B1/B2 visa with wife and kids because I still had about 3 years before PD would become current and also because "uncle depression" came visiting due to my joblessness and feeling of hopelessness. I made a mistake of lying about my immigrant application (due to bad advice from an agent) and we received a sweet bouncing that day. After that, I kept receiving individual "bouncings" left and right from subsequent applications, even Canada gave me the boot. So I tell you solemnly, DON'T LIE for any reason whatsoever. Na truth sure pass o. By the way, for those of you yet to travel, enjoy the heat now o. When you come here you won't feel your fingers again. Don't say I didn't warn you. |

olamie: Hi everyone,
Interview is in few days. I submitted 2017 IRS transcript and it was approved. Do I need to go with 2018 IRS transcript if available?
What is the implication if I don't? Don't make the same mistake I made. Go with 2018 tax papers, 2019 if possible. |

olamie: Good day everyone. I will like to find out something. My father filed for my 3 siblings and I was the only one who received the Immigrant Visa Interview Appointment email. Since the petition was filed together, I understand we will attend the interview together. What I don't understand is the fact that the interview letter was addressed to me alone. How do I print for my siblings because I heard we must take the letter for medicals.
Kindly help a sister. I hope your siblings names are in the email. If they are, one letter will be fine. But if their names are not there, then the interview is for you alone. |

Hello guys. Just went for my visa interview and I was told to bring more evidence. They need current (2018) tax papers. I went with 2017 and it was rejected. I'm married with kids and I forgot to also have more of my immediate family's pictures. I was told to drop all these things, along with my passport at the DHL office. Good luck to you all. |
