PoliticsRe: Bayelsa Residents Break Into Warehouse, Steal 2022 Flood Palliatives by Stevedison(m): 9:13am On Aug 29, 2023
I was in Bayelsa during the 2022 flood. Some communities in Yenagoa received 2 derica of rice and garri, with 2 Indomie sachets and 5 Maggi cubes. This was what was given to people who were displaced by the 2022 flood which was said to be the highest experienced in the state in the last 20 years.

I am still yet to understand the reason why the government officials derive pleasure in making people who put them in that position to suffer by denying them the palliatives meant for them. Its disheartening

Kobojunkiee:
The man's joblessness is not the reason OP created this thread. I get the sense that she would have continued to support her family as she has for the past 2 years had remained jobless for even the next 5 years. The problem is the violence. The man she has been caring for has turned violent against her and she is confused as to what to do next after the traumatic experience. undecided

Sadly, she would need to take the kids with her because there is no stopping him from taking his anger out on the kids if she isn't there to take the beatings from him. But, yes, she needs to leave or have him leave so he can go tend to his frustrations elsewhere where he does not end up hurting them more than he already has. undecided
You have a point but I think it's rather too early to leave. He too must be feeling remorseful about his actions by now. Don't forget she didn't really say what exactly made the man angry. We haven't heard from the other party although it's not enough reason to hit your wife. But this probably is the only time it's happening so she should take care of her home and watch her back. If he continues like this then she can leave or have him leave.

Kobojunkie:
Persevere in what sense? Stay in the same home with a man who let his frustrations led him to use her as a punching bad? He still doesn't have a job so he is still frustrated. undecided

Are you suggesting the man has no understanding even after 2 whole years that the person who has been housing and feeding him is a human being? undecided

2. Prayer for what exactly? That the man doesn't come back and break her head next time? Do you know how long Osinachi must have prayed only to end up wormfood after it all? Why una dey like prescribe prayer where commonsense supposed be the best option? undecided
Please what do you suggest she do? Being jobless for 2 years doesn't mean he wouldn't eventually ever get a job. Are you saying she should run away and leave the kids with him knowing fully well that he doesn't have the financial capacity to cater for them at the moment? Or are you suggesting that she takes the kids with her away from the husband?
FamilyRe: The Guilt Of Locking My Husband Up For Two Days by Stevedison(m): 6:30pm On Aug 22, 2023
Don't worry yourself too much he would come by. He probably went into drinking and smoking out of frustration. Believe me no man is happy knowing fully well that he can't provide for his family. At this point so many thoughts runs through his head and hence he takes wisdom grass to clear off lol.

I won't say that you did a bad thing by arresting him because he really went too far by spoiling things in the house which will cost money to fix, knowing fully well that he has no source of income at the moment. He even went as far as hitting you in the presence of the children I assume and that's very bad of him.

If this happened in the western world the woman wouldn't waste any time to charge him to court.

I will advice you to persevere a little, take care of your home. It's normal for you to feel bad after the whole thing but don't let it weigh you down. Still try to let him understand that you are a human too and he has no right as to assault you the way he did. You are presently the bread winner of the family so please keep it going and continue to put him in prayers. If you see better job opportunities or connections please link him in it.

I pray for strength in this trying time for you. It's not easy. May God bless your home.

You are painting her black when you are not different from her. Do you know how she feeds? Who are you to judge her?
You said she started sending you her nudes. Can you swear with your life that you are not the one who requested for nudes?
Your actions are bad man. You took advantage of her weakness. Everybody has one. Now you have her nudes in your phone and you claim you can't leak it so what are they still doing in your phone?
You might not have the intention of leaking her nudes but please delete them from your phone if they are still there. Your phone might get stolen or something might happen and those pictures will get out.

Please if you are in the position to help her please do and don't judge her. Advice her like a brother cos it's not easy to survive alone as a lady. You don't know what she is going through.

Ladiesdoctor:
Rubbish.
Eastern Region is one of the most industrious in Africa.
But Sit at home has dealt with the region massively.
For goodness sake what kind of hypnosism is that? Someone will be enjoying every bit of freedom in Finland and will be enforcing such barbaric instructions to his followers in the name of seeking for Independence?
Killing, maiming and destruction is the order of the day when ever sit at home is been declared.
After you finished killing them, who are you going to rule again?
I blame those gullible individuals who are taking orders from someone in a far away landto cause havoc on their homeland.

Before you all Bury OBJ let's not forget that he made a very good point here. Let the wise and those concerned in the present Nigeria learn from the words of the old man. Let's not allow our emotions and how we feel about a particular individual stop us from seeing the truth in the present. In order to move forward as a nation we need to embrace positivity and belief in ourselves.

No thanks to Hausa, Yoruba and Igbos.

The three most useless species God ever created

Take away those 3 species from the history of Nigeria and you'll have something that looks like a country
Because nobody is talking about other tribes in Nigeria apart from Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo, forgetting we have other lovely tribes.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Senate Moves To Scrap Age Limit In Job Advertisements In Nigeria by Stevedison(m): 10:40pm On Jul 20, 2023
Penguin2:
This is a very existential, practical and pragmatic bill.

With the epileptic educational system in Nigeria, most people spend longer years than necessary trying to graduate from school only to be told they are now too old to be employed.

Meanwhile you were frustrated by WAEC. Some people write WAEC up to 4 times before they finally make it.

If WAEC doesn’t frustrate you, JAMB will show you shege. Some twice, others three or 4 times or more.

Then when you finally make it into the University, ASUU will tell you to hold their beer. They will make sure that a course that was originally supposed to run for 4 years stretches into 6 or 7 years; and a 7 years course running into 11 years.

Finally you graduate at 36.

Then you see graduate entry openings in Access, Zenith, GT banks. You try to apply only to find out that it’s not for those older than 27 years or sometimes as low as 25 years.

Every other openings follows same pattern.

You consider the military (armed forces) and they all have age cap of 30 years.

Then you exclaim, “School Na Scam!”

Because you are already seeing Chukwudi who failed WAEC with you and left to Onitsha to do boy boy. He was settled after 5 years while you were still struggling with JAMB.

By the time ASUU was done eating Okpa with your destiny he already built a house in the village and bought a small car.

Let’s not even talk about those who started yahoo after failing JAMB twice.

Those ones are now ballers with fake gold chains. But how would you know the gold chains are fake when you have never priced even a bronze chain before?

And now all you have left is big grammar. Big grammar that you come to Nairaland to type some days when nature allows you to afford data. Your life is rudderless and meaningless.

You question God, you question nature, you question everything. You cry inside and on your bed at night. “This must be village people”, you say. Then you visit prophets, alfas, even Astrologers.

You try to start shooting comedy skit but you weren’t funny.

Maybe you should learn Web Development or Data Analysis, but where you go see laptop.

At 33, 36, and above you still don’t know where your life is going.

But now there’s an Abba Moro to the rescue.

God bless you Abba Moro.

Let the 30s and above breef!
E touch me
