I have 2 degrees and as I am typing this I am learning solar installation as an apprentice.
I have realised that we need to learn something from the Igbo apprenticeship scheme, those guys have produced real entrepreneurs making good money.

I spent 10 years working for a company and have little to show for it, while people without shops at big markets are building houses just from directing you to buy from a particular shop and they get commission.
I quit my job seeing the trajectory of where the company was heading to become an apprentice whilst applying my knowledge from school and company to make a fast learner.

Because of how I humbled myself to learn from them my colleagues and senior apprentices they were shocked when I told them I was going for Alumni meeting one day of the prestigious university I attended

Competition brings down price of commodities but sir in this case there is a big factor that needs to be checked very well and thats whether the investors will will be buying the crude from the government and allowed to refine. If it is so then there is no way competition can bring down the price of fuel here.

My brother married from Umuoji and believe me their bride price is not much. My bro did both the traditional and wedding same day and the budget wasn't that huge. It depends on how you want it to be. Cut your coat according to your material.

What exactly do you want us to endure? Just this morning I have been to over 8 banks in Yenagoa but there is no cash to withdraw. They claim they don't have cash at all. No POS shop has cash either.
The only pos that had little cash is charging 40% for every 1k. So if you are withdrawing 10k you have to pay 4k.

How can somebody eat. There is nothing to endure here. You expect them to endure till after 8 days whithout food when they have money in their accounts but due to the policy they can't withdraw even ordinary 2k in a day.

So, why are we importing refined fuel instead of refining it locally and exporting both crude and refined fuel to other countries

If any of you must remove subsidy, you must first remove the monopoly in refine fuel importation

Nigerians and business owners who are interested in importing fuel must be allowed to do as long as they can import products that meets minimum standard and also have the facility to store them before distribution

Take the case of GSM handsets, when it was first introduced, ordinary Nokia touch light cost over 40k but when many Nigerians dived into the importation of handsets, prices of phone crashes

Same thing will happen to fuel if government will for once consider Nigerians plight, remove the monopoly of NNPC, allow more players to import fuel into the market, price will fall below 100 naira

I find it really complicated but my friend's character is likely going to be stained, I'm also concerned about his emotional stability afterwards if there's no proof of his innocence as at this point no one would believe him.

It was an old school group where we both belonged, I didn't know him much back in school to vouch for his character but the incidence has thrown everyone in complex puzzle.

Yesterday, a hospital document surfaced in our old school WhatsApp soliciting for funds, stating that he has apendix and needs it removed, while some of our course mates sent money, some were skeptical and made further inquiries by calling the hospital, the hospital didn't have any such person under admission, a call was placed to the sister who recieved same message of hospital documents and fund demand.


Later on, there was several intriguing aspect to the story but today our course mate resurfaced, at first we made conjectures that he was the one behind the heist but he said he was held against his will by some gang who did the hospital documents, forced him on a video call and used his phone to message his contacts and group with the fund soliciting broadcast.

I called him few minutes ago, he is stating that he is a victim and feeling disappointed that people believed he would do a thing like that and that it is his first time in Lagos.

I don't really know what to believe but I wish to know if anyone ever had this sort of scam approach in Lagos. Could my course mate be innocent or a culprit?

I understand how you feel about this. What if he was really held against his will and forced to do all these things. It is possible. Don't forget these messages were also sent to his family, would he go as far as breaking the trust of his own family?

These things are happening ooo. Some are even raped but they can't say it out. These are formats fraudsters use in Lagos and they are cashing out with it.

One happened in a Hotel where I once worked. The victim was an online marketer. He sells wears. These guys made order for clothes online and the seller was to deliver the clothes that Sunday morning. They directed him to bring the clothes to the room they are in. To cut the story short he was robbed of all his belongings. Even the clothes he wore that day and the they actually wanted to rape him. It was at this point he couldn't take it anymore so he forced himself through the door that led to the balcony not minding how many story it is. Fortunately for him the room was in the second floor so he only sustained minor injuries. For me only the look in his eyes showed he was terrified. Before the security officials could get to the room they already left.
These things happen in Lagos very well.

I think you should reach out to your friend so he wouldn't go into depression cos it would still hurt him greatly if his own family actually didnt believ him. Also advice him to report the case to the appropriate authorities if he was really innocent.

I saw a thread here about how criminals lure their victims with this job offer and once their victim arrives they are being held captive and are used to lure their family member against their will. Please be careful.
When you see offers please try to do your own research about the said company before making any commitment

I am a graduate and currently working as a real estate broker in Abuja.

Recently a friend of mine who happened to be my brother in-law told me of a job offer in portharcourt at a company( an international company persay) who were ready to pay him in dollars every week.

The problem was that he has to pay N650k for international working documents, dollar account and other stuffs to commence training.

I don't know what happened next, I later heard he's there already and he wants to create opportunity for me too.

So he requested for my details which I sent to him. Lately yesterday he called telling me I was confirmed for the job replacement and I also have to pay N650k to get the job.

I didn't say anything to him yet aside telling him I'll get back to him.

I'm having a double feeling about this seeing the fact that this is someone I know in person, that's why I brought it here.
