Any body with Info in what is going on with Insurance companies in Australia. My agent have made payment for AHM OSHC cover for almost a month now but nothing has been received. This is delaying my issuance of CoE. The agent said the insurance company has sent it to the school. Is there a way I can confirm this.

They are supposed to send it to you the purchaser, you have to send it to your agent, your agent then send to school.... That's how it's done... meanwhile you are also supposed to receive a mail from the insurance company immediately the insurance is paid for. They don't have to send it to the school.. However, you may need to check with the school or better still mail the insurance company inquiring what is holding your certificate.. I hope this helps.

Hello House,

Please I have an issue, it’s been close to a month now and I am yet to receive my COE from my school (Torrens) after paying fees.
I declined starting online and asked to defer to next year but it’s been too much hassle from Torrens ever since.
I’ve sent emails across multiple times and my agents too has been following up but there’s no positive response yet.

I don’t know if there’s anyone that is experiencing such from Torrens as well.

Should I keep emailing the school concerning my COE? I’m really desperate for answers and feedback.

I would advise you to start applying to some other school now, once u get offer and still yet to hear from Torrens university, ask for refund... The school is really not worth it anymore.. better still, if you can apply to more expensive school and save yourself all this delay..

Hello everyone,
Illd be needing a bit of a guidance.
Submitted application on the 20th of July,
Did biometrics and medical 8/9 August.
Got a refusal on the 21st September on this basis

“I acknowledge that the applicant has family ties to their home country and place some weight on that in favour of the applicant. However, I have concerns that these ties may not be a strong enough incentive for the applicant to depart Australia upon completion of their studies.
I give more weight to consideration of the applicant's potential economic circumstances in their home country compared to Australia and the value of the course to the applicant's future.
While I accept that obtaining qualifications from an Australian educational institution may positively influence employment and remuneration prospects in an applicant's home country, I am not satisfied that the applicant demonstrated how they would achieve this against the background of prevailing economic circumstances in their home country. The applicant implied a career pathway intention in their home country and how this would be an incentive for them to return, but did not provide any convincing evidence to support this. I have considered the applicant's likely earning capacity in Australia and in their home country.
Based on the information before me, I am not satisfied the financial incentives to return home outweigh the financial incentives to remain in Australia. I therefore place little weight on the applicant's implied intention”

I’ve seen like 4 other people with same refusal notes.

My questions are
How long do we have to wait o reapply, what steps do we need to take to reapply
What can we do differently to have a favourable decision?
Thank you all

I'm very convinced that you got this refusal letter from Susan.... That Case Officer is something else in recent time... I think you should start prepping for reapplication immediately..

Good Day Brethren,

I have been given provisional admission at The University of Newcastle. I want to pay the initial deposit. I have the value in my USD account here in Nigeria. How will I go about making the payment online without going through form A wahala. This school is not ready to provide account number for form A processing, they said it takes time. I have been to all my banks, I was directed to Form A.

Any plug to help out in this regard will be highly appreciated at a friendly rate.

I would advise you get someone in US, UK Aussie or Canada and send him/her the money to pay ur tuition on ur behalf.. by so doing, u have avoided form A wahala... Hope this helps.

I’m not sure they request for bank statement or any sort of proof of funds because its a Streamline school ( Assessment level 1 school) which means higher visa success rate without much documentation.

Thanks, I appreciate.

it is either you went ahead to make the payment when the set out time for that transaction had expired... what u would do is open a support ticket and lay ur complaint there with proof of payment... Goodluck.

[quote author=AyaE post=87034655]Hello Guys, my grant just came in today!!!!
Thanks to everyone who has contributed on this thread one way or the other on this thread. It has helped immensely.
My time line:
Submitted application-31st July 2019
Conditional offer- 15th July 2019
CoE- 24th November 2019
Biometrics- 27th December 2019
Submitted Visa Application- 25th January 2020
IELTS Score- 7.0 (I had a minimum band score of 7.0 so my average was 7.0). I got a waiver from the school so I didn't need IELTS for school admission. My agent advised I write one for visa so I did.
School- Flinders University
Sponsor's account: My maternal uncle. Submitted 2 bank statements. One had 18m and the other was a fixed deposit account that matures every 30days. It had 13m.
Course- Social work (masters)
BSc- Microbiology

Submitted my credentials, letter from sponsor, proof of relationship to sponsor (uncle & Mum's NPC) and sponsor's account statement. I didn't submit payslips or my account statement sha.
Challenges faced: I already had an MSc in Microbiology so applying for a second masters was what I had to prove. Plus, with Social Work being a high risk course I had to write a convincing SOP. (I can share that with anyone interested cos mehn this took me like a month to write). My work experience was also a bonus cos I work as a care assistant.
Sometime in December the bank statement I used for the school admission could no longer be used cos he had to move the funds to another bank for investment reasons. He had to submit another letter to this effect. He also had to back it up with the fixed deposit account.
School resumes on Monday so if anyone could help with flight and accommodation links, I'd be most grateful.

Thank God!!!!!!!

please can you help me with your SOP.. my wife is applying for social work and she has been working in a child care home with a degree in mass communication.. Here is my E-Mail oparaochasteven@yahoo.com

Hello Mr Nitric I have carefully read comments concerning your questions..
Honestly I don't find any business interesting aside the Agro business. but then you really need to be carefully truth be told..

Some of them coming here to tell you what business to do are not business men at all. some are associate to people that are into the business they are proposing to you and have been looking for ways on how to start up their own... not really understanding the nitty gritty of the so called business..

MR don't be in a hurry to loss your money or take a risky that is not worth it...
I am into businesses some are very risky some are not..but I wouldn't suggest any to you...

My advance is this, go and bank you money in a domiciliary account while you take your time and find what business to do.. the reason is this, so the current naira devaluation that is about coming won't affect your 16m but rather it will keep it 100% safe and in return increase it depending on when you want to invest it...

Goodluck in your search.

Honestly I can tell you that 80% of MBA investors didn't read their MOU and that has been the reason for useless questions here every now and then... the thing is as an investor you don't do what will trigger panic or coming to such place to promote fear it won't help us all.. not forgetting the fact that we are on a daily basis fighting with people that have chosen to see MBA to collapse in this thread.... please let all investors be guided.. at all times stay calm if you have any issue please go to their office and speak to someone about..... thanks and stay safe...

Well said, in our MOU it's stated ROI will come within 7 days of the due date, we should learn to exercise patience a little bit, also considering the effect this pandemic is causing too

Honestly eh, some advice I see here
In essence are u saying they should go ALL-IN to an investment they haven't tried before just because ur trying to underscore someone?

Who advises anyone to take a huge loan from a bank to start off a business? People should only take such loans for business continuity! That is, it's already established.

If u must invest, do it with what u are willing to lose. It's that simple. Let's stop mis informing others

you mean to say if I have an opportunity to invest hugely in Real Estate I shouldn't going by your advise. when I stand a better chance of making good ROI... bros you see ehh when it comes to investment and becoming successful, nobody has the key... what work for you might not work for me so allow me to find my own key by making mistakes and learning from them... sometimes being too careful is not good.. the take home lesson from every mistake is that you get wiser...

Good day house.. Please I have little concern I would want the experienced ones amongst us to help out with..
My wife ECA just came out and it was stated there that her university(Tansian university) is not recognized by NUC and therefore can't be compared to a Canadian educational credential.
1.Now from the contact we have made to her school, the University is accredited by NUC.
2. Her university is no 54 on NUC accredited private universities.
3. We all know here in Nigeria if your university or course of study is not accredited, you won't be able to go to NYSC.
4. She has her NYSC discharge certificate.
My worries is how did they come to these kind of conclusion ?
What is the best decision to take on such matter?
Please house I need good response.

On this IELTS issue...my two cents.

1. Stick to a FEW practice materials! The number of materials for IELTS that we see on a daily on this thread can be overwhelming. Try out only a few and stick to the one that resonates with you. Don't use ieltsliz, Jay, Cambridge, ieltsadvantage, road2ielts etc at the same time (some of these peope don't agree on the same approach and reading all can get really confusing). If you try one and it sits well with you, ditch others. Focus on that one and be a master of it. I almost got overwhelmed at some point, because l wanted to open every link or try every material l saw here. But l had to give myself brain oh.

2. Practise everyday. No excuses. Create the time. Even at work, you can use your lunch break to practise. Instead of listening to music or radio on your way to work, listen to your downloaded tips on writing, speaking, reading, listening. When walking down the streets, have an earpiece on (l hate this, but we can make sacrifices for one month abi?) and keep LISTENING. At weekends, practice speaking with your wife/husband, friend, son/daughter etc. Write out questions and tell them to ask you (under exam conditions). I finished a WHOLE 30 leaves notebook for listening practice (yeah l work an 8 to 5 and live on the mainland with my office on the island -remember, no excuses!). Always check your wrong answers and replay those portions and find out what you didn't hear properly. I used youtube for listening/speaking/reading.

3. There's this ielts expert too, one Ryan (cannot remember his surname) that l think is underrated. I used his tips for writing. He talks about 15 sentences max for writing. 3 paragraphs with 4 sentences and the closing paragraph should have 3 sentences. This keeps you in check and you already know what to write before the exam, all you will be waiting for on the ielts day is the topic given! I can share his materials if you drop your email address.
For writing, write letter and essays! Don't read what someone else wrote. Write yours too. Some people practise writing by reading another's work -WRONG! write yours too and compare. Minimum letters to write on different topics - 10. Minimum essays - 20. Revise your work and look for better ways to reconstruct your sentences. I suggest you write with pencil on your exam day so you can erase if need be.

4. For reading - use youtube. It also has a timer, so practice using the time and don't stop the timer or pause the video. The easiest comprehension in reading are the first two. Spend less time there. Say 5 mins tops for each. You do not need to UNDERSTAND nada. Just look at the instructions (very important), then the questions, then scroll through the passages for the answers. You need all your time for the last two passages. They are more technical.

5. For speaking - Be confident, relaxed and know your basic english and introduction (see ieltsliz). See this as an interview. We all attend interviews don't we? I got a list of 42 likely cue cards from ieltsliz blog (l think she said they change it every 3 months but she always update the cue card questions) and l practiced the 42 different topics and l always set my two minutes timer with my phone. You can be in the BRT or your car and practice this one, or when walking down the street or whilst doing chores at home, or lying down in your bed doing nothing (l did this. Some days, people will think you are going crazy because you are talking to yourself, but...who no go no know). One of the 42 questions l practiced was my cue card during my speaking test -something on my pet animal (l was wondering "madam why me? Animal kwa?" but because l had practised earlier, the examiner had to cut me off when it was two minutes. I just went on and on.

4. Lastly and certainly not the least...the place of PRAYER. I'm catholic, so when l saw the prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino here, l made a mental note to say it. I started saying it every day from September till i wrote my exam on the 1st of November. I even added a 9 days St. Joseph of Cupertino novena with prayer and fasting which ended on the 31st of October (l'm that extra oh. I left no chances). I asked my family to add me in their prayers too. So, pray, pray and pray. Whatever works for you. Someone dropped one St. prayer here on financial assistance for POF, best believe l'll look for that prayer and do it too!

5. People have done it, you too can. Don't be discouraged if you have tried more than once. We don't give up on this thread oh. Being here has taught me a different level of selflessness and never say never spirit. People you don't even know are quick to help and empathise and l am still in awe of you guys.

6. Please drop your email address so l can send the Ryan materials to you.

This too shall pass!

All the best everyone and my apologies for the long post.

Oparaochasteven@yahoo.com please share with me the materials... Thank you.

Hello house,
Someone cannot leave you people for 2days and come back to meet you guys. Been trying to catch up for the past 2days.
We did about 12 pages yesterday and going at that pace, this part will be closed by early January. Una Weldone

Unto more serious issues, the remark of my IELTS reading from Sept. 29th came back unchanged. I guess I now have the closure I need to rewrite. Registering for Dec. 1st, would try MOD this time.
At the same time, I’m still pursuing my North Cyprus PCC. Submitted Authorisation letter to Turkish Embassy Abuja. I hope to get it by Tuesday. Special thanks to @Temas for showing us the way.

Thanks to every one that dedicates time to helping others on this thread, and to those like me still battling with one thing or the other, lets keep the dream alive, it shall end in praise.

Getting to be hearing about this MOD more often... Please what's it for and the difference to iELTS?
