You are definitely right. People in this case women shouldnt make promises they dont intend to keep. Who knows if the poor guy was hoping to marry her?? He also has emotions and i bet his heart was broken, cause he must have given her undiluted love to have stayed away from sex with her for 3yrs. His emotions drove him to the crime.
But that doesnt excuse the rapist's action.

Sometimes u realize she isnt what u thought. Especially as lot of ladies pretend, by the time their real nature shows, the guy would get fed up.

If i had a sister and my friend wants to date her, i wouldnt stop it. I would help her to ensure her heart isnt broken, i wouldnt marry her now.
I had very good friend, i dated his sis, he was very furious, threatened to shooooot me if i broke her heart. Well i wanted to marry her. It all fell apart later cause she started asking for more, wanting to see what she shouldnt see. She finally asked to end the relationship. I tried to make it work but she was insistent cause she felt she found a better guy.
I finally let go. But after her new found love failed, she started coming back, telling my friend (used to be) that i dumped her. Am loss of words cause now the whole family is beefing me.
But i dont care, have moved on and they should move on too.

i will just like to contribute a little to wat everyone has said. i blv every guy should be a lil' jealous over his babe. (it simply shows the depth of his love.) but it becomes a thing of concern when he's overly jealous. With all u hav said, u made us blv he loves u so much and i will advise u stcik to him.

i hav a conviction that the jealousy will go down a bit when u finally settle down cos most of us (guys & babes now) feel insecure while dating most especially if u hav a good partner (which is hard to come by these days) but the insecurity fades away with time once they are married.

Moreover, one is expected to be jealous over wat he or she loves dearly. So, discussing it over wit him is the best option and if he loves u as much as u say, he will understand and re-adjust himself.

My little contribution is that i was once like your guy, i loved this girl so dearly that i was very jealous. Though i didnt go to the extent your man went but i had her email password even up till now. One day what i was scared of happened, we broke up cause she insisted on seeing some other guy. After 2-3months she started making cunny moves to get back together with me, like sending the siblings to visit me etc. But am so scared of taking her back cause the love i had for her is now gone. And frankly speaking i dont think i can love like that again i dont give a damn now what a gf does who she calls or who talks to her, i just dont care anymore.

Olusegun Obasanjo needs to share part of the blame concerning the present state of Nigeria. OBJ has proved that he is a bad leader. Good leaders are respected with the candidates they push into power. It is obvious that OBJ does not want his little achievements to be surpassed by a much younger purposeful President. That was why he brought in Yar'Adua as his replacement. Very shallow thinking from the Owu man I know Nigeria would not be in this same position if Donald Duke, Peter Odili or any of the other guys had been nominated to occupy Aso Rock.

Why recycle the minister? Yaradua has no reason to govern anybody much less a troubled nation like nigeria. But the problem with nigeria is that if and when he goes, what comes next? UMYA succeeded OBj, and we know many nigerians hated that regime. But there are a lot of worse people out there who have the money and influence to become president. And there's just nothing in place to weed them out or prevent them from wrecking more harm onm our national psyche.

I am not totally convinced that Jomo Gbomo and co will not loot the Niger Delta worse than than the current crop of leaders. But thats totally beside the point. What is needed now is to identify people who are capable and have proven themselves. No matter what they are doing. The press could help Nigeria a lot in this regard. Rather than regaling us with stories of Mark's dirty underwear and Obj's latest fart to sell their dirty newsprint, they should instead focus on achievers and builders, people that we can look up to and be proud of.

But I forget myself, why will the press do that when they can make "something" by selling us corrupt politicians as builders? Nigeria is endemically corrupt. It happens on every road, in every office. Until the nigerian people mend their ways, they will always be ruled by leaders like these. As someone said, A PEOPLE WILL ONLY GET THE LEADERS THEY DESERVE. Certainly not by wishes or asking.

Its so sad to read your post about my beloved country but am so sick to admitt you are so true in ur conclusion, i have thought about that myself too. There are too few good ppl in Nigeria.
