Some of us do feel like contributing our little quota in politics and if also hoping to let our voice count in the political sphere. TAN presents us with that opportunity to impact our ideas and co-ordinate our friends and families (those with politics inclination though) with respect to such future impact. Who knows what your capacity can be transformed into in our future generation. Well, it's a choice we all have to make, as regards politics. Directly or indirectly, we are involved or rather it affects us. Anyway, these are my personal views as it regards my support for President Goodluck Jonathan. He may not be the best of presidents, but I have seen signs enough to believe he has the best interest of Nigeria and Nigerians...with or without all these monstrous violence facing his government. (My personal opinion though). So, I wanna use this medium to invite some of the people who thinks in line with my thoughts to join this growing trend of young and elderly professionals, who wishes to become Ambassadors of Transformation. You can do that by going through the link below. http://tan.org.ng/onestar/register.php?id=160519 God Bless Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria God Bless Nigeria (Be responsible, if you must comment) - Cheers |

At the end of a very exciting and eventful tournament. A deserved winner emerged and that was Germany. Even as the 113 minutes goal from a 22 year old lad, Gotze, made that possible. Lionel Messi, just as he narrowedly lost the Ballon d'Or to Christiano Ronaldo, also did lose out to the German machines but he was found worthy of being crowned Golden Ball winner. Taking into account contributions of excellent performance from Schweinstiger, Neuer, Robben, Di Maria, and even Mascherano, I ask; did Messi deserve to win the golden ball ![]() |

July 7 Troops have cleared and taken over Balmo forest in a military operation that lasted throughout the weekend. Prior to the operation, Balmo forest, stretching from Bauchi through Jigawa states with links to the fringes of Sambisa forest, was used by the terrorists as bases and hideouts for launching attacks. A statement by the Director, Defence Information, Maj.Gen. Chris Olukolade, in Abuja on Monday, said terrorists and armed gangs, operating in the forests, were completely rooted out while some were captured during the operation. It however did not specify the number of those arrested during the operation, but said two foreigners, suspected to be mercenaries, were among those captured. Also recovered were several weapons and equipment including power generating sets, communication equipment, vehicles, motorcycles, foodstuff and kitchen utensils. In another development, over 44 terrorists have died in Kerenoa and adjoining communities, following an encounter with troops who repelled an attack on the communities. Armed with Improvised Explosive Devices and other high caliber weapons, a large number of terrorists had carried out a predawn attack on the communities but met with stiff resistance from the troops. During the operation, several of them were captured as well as weapons and ammunition of various calibre, according to the Defence headquarters. “Meanwhile, troops on routine patrol around Banki and Miyanti in Borno State during the weekend fought through an ambush laid by terrorists resulting in casualties on both sides. “Altogether, a total of six soldiers were lost in the various encounters with terrorists while those wounded are receiving treatment,” the statement added. |
Debuchy completes Arsenal medical ahead of €10m move The Gunners are expected to complete the signing of the France international, as talks with Barcelona over the acquisition of Alexis Sanchez progress By Wayne Veysey Jul 7, 2014 7:21:00 PM Mathieu Debuchy has undertaken a medical at Arsenal and looks set to complete a switch from Newcastle United worth at least €10 million. The Gunners agreed a fee with the Magpies and are set to make Debuchy their first signing of the summer as they look to replace Bacary Sagna. The 28-year-old revealed he was in talks to join the north London club in the wake of France’s exit from the World Cup last Friday. The terms of the deal were finalised over the weekend, allowing Debuchy to then complete a medical on Monday evening and the deal is expected to be confirmed in the coming days after formalities are completed. Arsenal will pay €10m up front, but the fee will rise due to appearance-related add-ons. The club's spending on transfer fees could reach the €50m mark in the next week as they are also on the verge of capturing Alexis Sanchez after agreeing a €40m fee for the Chile star with Barcelona. Arsene Wenger moved for Debuchy after deciding to buy a proven right-back rather than a more inexperienced player in the mould of the 21-year-old Toulouse defender Serge Aurier, who had been closely pursued by the Premier League giants after it became clear that Sagna was joining Manchester City. Having watched Juanfran, another target, sign a contract extension with Atletico Madrid, Wenger sanctioned a swoop for Debuchy. The Frenchman has been the regular right-back at Newcastle since joining from Lille in January 2013 and started four of France’s five World Cup matches ahead of Sagna |
Akadile: It's obvious the writer is biased. STRIKE IS THE ONLY LANGUAGE THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT UNDERSTANDS. At least, the writer accepts that Government is notorious for not honoring agreements. So, how will one get them to listen? People always quote the Hippocratic oath against Doctors but I tell you that if when that oath was written, that Drs knew that their wages will be owed, that the privileges accorded to only Dr then will later be accorded to other non -Drsby a visionless govt like ours, then there must have been a provisor or an escape clause. ASUU was on strike for 6 months in order to get the govt to listen & no one is talking about it. Drs go on strike after ultimatums, warning strike etc & people are blaming Drs. Maybe the writer should tell us how to get the govt to listen; maybe by witchcraft. I pity the public bc they don't understand the gravity of the situation, bc if they do, they should rise up against the govt. This act of govt is making merit pave way for mediocrity & remember that they don't seek healthcare inside Nigeria. So if the health sector is filled with titled mediocres, I wonder who suffers. Most commenters on this strike Though not all HATE Drs & that is why you will see many insensitive comments against Drs. Remember Drs have families, have responsibilities like every other Nigerian living in this harsh environment.I smiled @titled mediocres .... Was rather hoping you will be more unbiased viewing that you began your comment with calling the OP biased... Well, it explains your personality! #stillsmiling |
nnewa: itz a pity our health system has degenerated to this. i must hold our health system planners, managers & policy makers responsible. itz either of d following:Really!!! How I wish these your points of reasoning...atleast some of them are being utilized by the major players in health sector to iron out their differences/set a stable foundation for medical practices; STRIKE for some of the points raised would've been a forgotten story. Well, I still maintain that only when the proper training (both learning and character wise) is given to our students, we will continue to face these impasse. Diaris God oo |
johnbosco97: [for]I smiled and grin at your sentimentality. I cannot count most times when I had to engage medical doctors when it has to do with my field of specialty in reasoning and I do that with a sense of respect. Not because he is a doctor but because as a human being, we all take corrections differently. Really, I wish I didn't have to say that but my bro/sis, people approach things differently and not all people are intelligent. A saying goes "empty can makes loudest noise". Real intelligent chaps don't brag of how good they are. They don't need to, as you will see it when they act. So, using words like "MOST" for a few encountered cases is most unfortunate. You wouldn't tell me that dmed Docs are all knowing. Even yourself, you can atleast tell yourself the truth about your failings in certain areas. The pharmacist that ran to make those claims against your prescriptions is wrong at first to have done that publicly and secondly, may have a complex, just like some docs who tries to know more than the specialist. Well, I chose to write this much, hoping you will understand where I stand and if you think necessary reason differently when you refer to your co-health workers. Bless you and cheers! |
Mod, ope I am in the right section ooo? |
...As I closed the door...I head a sound which made me startle. Behold, the department cleaner, who normally sleep over was just waking up. Oops! How did I forget. I almost forgot what took me into the room and to be truthful, the result she was looking for wasn't there in the first place. I just scanned the room and left, telling her that it is not going to be there. I took her to the MRI suite...what concerns her result with the suit. But, when I entered, I refused to on the bright light and the room was AC-chilled. It took me abt 30 seconds before I could on the light. When I looked at her face, she was smiling seductively. This time, she looked intently into my eyes. I was confused and speechless, because my eyes wondered immediately on her half exposed breast (just the nipples that was hidden). She snapped me back to reality by asking "is this room always cool, that she is feeling cold". Really, I adjusted myself because I was already getting hard. She picked a nearby stool, rather than a chair which was closer to the ground and sat. With her laps rubbing each other as she pretends to be questioning me about the function of the MRI machine. My people, I grabbed a sit too and as I attempted to respond to her questions, she continued to move her laps and occasionally exposing her yellow-flowered pant. I was praying inside me "oh lord! Let this cup pass over me", but couldn't help staring. This made me say a lot of rubbish and I told myself "thank God, she aint in medical profession". When I finished, I was surprise when she corrected one of my foolishness. When I asked how did you know, she just smiled and said "I like you...you are calm and caring, unlike other doctors". See me see gbeke! When did I show care ![]() She then stood up and move across me, at a very tight space, rubbing that "tempted-to-touch" on me as she passed. Mehn! My boy, didn't respect itself again but stood at attention for about a minute. With all my attempt to calm him becoming fruitless. She moved towards the controlling table/console and bent to view the inner magnet room...I was now completely uncontrollable, so ... (I de come make I sneeze) |
phantomm: Comment from Punch newspaper Anthony Okpunwa • 4 hours agoPhantomm! Is that what they said @truth must be told... I think you suffer the same fate as I. Is it completely wrong for other health professions(remember, I mean professions, co-noting professional) to which to reach a Director level in his field?(Hospital or not). Or, is it wrong for some of them who has reached a certain consulting level in their specialties to be tagged "CONSULTANT"? Really, I think the relativity you are talking about is being followed, xcept maybe some general or fed hospital where things are abnormal just like my own...and these places are headed by the Doc. I never say that doctors can't head the hospital well...but, I think that poor managements over the years. I believe this is why others lay claim for a right to manage the hospital. I personally feel that fear of insecurity or the unknown is what is causing all these issues. And as such, it warrants a round table discussion to sort out most grey areas (I mean with openness and willingness for all sides to see each other's views. That way, we will be looking forward to a favourable working envt and better healthcare(with trust amongst the players) delivery to the peeps in whom are our reason to be practicing medicine in the first place. @this response is only for phantom to react and other reasonable peeps. Thanks |
phantomm: the pharmacists in the teaching hospitals ONLY dispense drugs.quote me anywhere. let them not hood wink you.thats all they do.in the pharmaceutical companies like emzor, may&baker, beecham etc, there are industrial pharmacists.those places are actually the natural habitat for the pharmacists NOT the hospitals!!! the job of the pharmacist in the hospital is to advice the doctor on prescriptions NOT to replace the doctors prescription. nigerians please note! our pharmacists in the hospitals only dispense!!! many of you here will bear me witness. let the truth be told. You seem to be a bit exposed, so I chose to respond just this one time. The advice you talk about, how often do they accept in good faith or reason with the pharmacist. Instead, the argument of I know better, rather than reasoning (all in the name of superiority) is always the case. I am a living witness (infact it happened just this week monday). Well, I repeat...whenever ego is always in the forefront, the least is always achieved. I believe Medical/Health sector would have achieved much in moving forward when it involves their packages, if not for antagonism of each other's cravings for better service allowances. Hmmm.... #iwenttoschoolforsixyears ... Now a good album hit!!! Tu face, d'banj, p minus square, cue on... It shall be well someday |
Very funny, I'm enjoying ur story, pls continue
Ok ooo. I thought I was running a radio presentation . Lol |
@Jimbaldy; na only u waka come. Anyway! Update is coming soon |
seyih2: Dude, everything in life is not about money, why not read about their requirements before condemning them?Hellooo! To those who care to read. All these are only practical in Nigeria (very soon, BH will go on strike). Well, TALK IS CHEAP. ALUTA CONTINUA. Patients, I pity. The end will either justify the means or No more Health Sector but Medical Sector... By the way, what is the full meaning of MBBCH ![]() |
Na movie, una de watch? No comments, no continuation ![]() |
...Sorry, I was still praying! Like I said, she made that thing move and I couldn't tell my big boy to calm down, rather I excused her, to go and search for her result. She insisted on accompanying me, thereby, worsening my condition. I refused to look at her, but she somehow, overstepped me and was in front...my people, my boxer couldn't do it's job any longer and unlucky for me, I wore pant trouser, so...u know what happened. But, I was so determined to overcome the temptation that I increased my pace in order to pass her. But she just turned and brush my something with the back of her palm. I was so embarrassed, especially when she said sorry. But, in a matter of seconds, I was the one who took over the lead. Where this statement "I must also touch your own" came from, I truelly don't know. Instead of frown, she smiled and said, you can't. See me, see show oooo. When we approached the result room, we entered and close the door. Before, I could say another word...(Wait ooo, make I remove my food for fire) |
It amuses me when I read comments on any nairaland topic. @schooldropouts, @spendingsixyearsormoreinschool... It all goes to explain, why we can never progress. Really, Dir. of Admin in the hospital spent 6 yrs in school, or maybe, a Consultant in Architectural Designs is just a title. Who knows, maybe we will keep telling ourselves lies and play with human lives because of paying so much attention to pecuniary things... What do we all swear to do, when we leave school SMHseriously and yet I smile at some people's myopic view of life. |
I pity patients and all who sits and expects their health needs to be catered for in Govt hospitals. I also see more private center springing forth as these incessant strikes is also a way of enriching themselves privately. These unfolding events are the reasons why, we have patients die of cases they shouldn't die in normal circumstances or if proper care was given them. Politics is now the real issue. Well, I am crossing my legs and waiting for when I would hear that all health personnels are joining hands amicably for the patient's sake, rather than, their percuniary purposes' sake. |
At the pronouncement "Your Grand Dad Is To Be Admitted". She was perplexed, as she didn't know what her life will be like...during the few days/weeks she is to spend there, taking care of him. Did she commit any offense in being pretty? NO. Was it her fault that there are billions of vampires(mosquitoes) in the hospital...biting, sucking her blood and giving her "artificial chicken pox"? NO. Was it her fault that she had to move around the Hospital,(as a wanderer) conducting one test to another? NO. Yet, she yearns for better treatments, from co PR, Doctors and Other Health workers...Some having to harass her, or she willingly allow such, because she liked it, or she had no choice. Well, I took a cue...don't ask me what my part was. But, there's no way this beauty will pass by and your "jangolover" will not react (hehehehehe). But, I came to believe that for 3 consecutive days, this beauty was out to kill every person around that couldn't control himself... She came once to my unit to collect test result, and I was alone...she noticed nobody was there with me and I had to lock the gate, as it is a security measures(don't ask what kind). She showed a lot of Shakira/Beyonce combined moves...and smiles innocently at every questions I asked...(To be continued) make I go church!!! |
