PoliticsHas Anyone Taken Note On The Rounded Number Of Boko Haram Killed By Hunters??? by Stoical(op): 8:19pm On Nov 13, 2014
Hello, maybe I am the only person that have noticed the number of BH being killed from time to time by HUNTERS, and our soldiers have been portrayed as not being able to do that. Please, do these hunters always achieve these successes without casualties or, do they always round-up these BH guys in 40s, 60s, 75s, 80s, etc...

I really would wanna know, so that I could inform the military boys to always round them up first and shoot their sorry asses. Maybe, people will hear that they worked by then...

Just being curious!!!

Hello, if you actually did understood my message...I was condemning your act of browsing and typing from inside church rather than concentrate...pls, I would never prick your conscience against you voting for Buhari or whoever you chooses to for that matter...rather, I would say, do what your conscience tells you but do not create opportunity for peeps like d writer to abuse Christians...note, not "acclaimed christians"

Bros, I am a christian, but the actions and attitude of many christian leaders and followers sickens me these days.

GEJ has no justification to use divisive religious sentiments to campaign for office again. Many of us fell for that gimmick once. The consequence speaks for itself.
Make no mistake about this: Corruption is the single most virulent malaise afflicting our nation today. All other problems are a direct consequence of this, be it infrastructure deficit, political violence , religious hypocrisy etc.

Sadly, GEJ HAS PRESIDED OVER A GOVERNMENT THAT IS SO CORRUPT THAT SANI ABACHI IS GRADUALLY LOOKING LIKE A SAINT!
Bro, I haven't heard or seen him does what you said, as regards using divisive religious sentiments to campaign...rather its people like I and you who most often refer to this act as a basis for an elective officer to be elected...

I wouldn't bet against you on the Capitalized statement but, I would rather say...that facts must always be used for comparison of our leaders...I stand firm to say that GEJ aint doing what he should be doing to fight corruption...but, really, who is out there with good antecedent for me to vote forhuh

@oga Bombay, all you just wrote are epistles for the gods, even as I'm in a church typing this, I dnt care if Buhari is a religious fvcktard, cos I can't imagine a Nigeria without a president for another 4yrs.
It is peeps like u that makes the writer to refer to "christians" as (wishy-washy). I bet you only go to church because u r forced to or as a ritual. But, my dear, u r in a group of wishy-washy "christians", so, I don't blame the writer on that front.

I would rather sympathize wit him, as he aggressively tries to re-write the wrongs said against Buhari by the mentioned columnist... But, he has shot himself on the foot by doing to Jonathan exactly what his colleague did againt Buhari.

So, the obvious thing to do here is IGNORE political stooges, as this is a clear sign that the writer is one.

Oga your head dey there, whenever I see Jona play his ''class captain'' politics I can't help but wonder how in the world this man became the number one citizen of this country.

Hello! He became number one citizen because some of us voted for him with great hopes, even though, he has failed to tackle the main problem of Nigeria (corruption).
Aminu Tambuwal's defection is just one of the many things that will happen before 2015 election. That PDP is the old NPN is no longer news, most northerners in PDP presently will eventually toe the line of Tambuwal before the election.
YES sir, you may not be far from the truth, because there has been such move earlier in the Senate, before the fear of the "unknown" stopped them from going on with such plans.
I just hope Jona is ready to do the worst to remain in the office, Abokis for now are enjoying watching Jona chase after every imaginary political enemies.
He may or will, depending on what legacy he is willing to leave behind. But, my brother; when you say Abokis, don't forget that some of them are also sympathetic to His cause and as such, those few will still vote him. Really, they will! Note, I call u brother, because I believe in Nigeria...not in N or S Nigeria.
Somewhere laughing and singing, drinking fura de nunu, Abokis will be like ''banza kawai'' we shall teach you how not to cheat in any game.
Well! GEJ of now is not the GEJ of when UMY of late memory was smuggled into the country without his knowledge, neither is he the GEJ of 2011...so, do what you feel you can to unseat him, as u r at liberty to, but know that Northerners will equally vote in GEJ again come 2015, except APC can bring out a dependable-never-in-the-scene-before politician to fight GEJ for 2015 Presidency. I personally don't think Buhari(with all due respect to him), will unseat Jona...
NOTE: before you start pouring vituperations or spit fire, just know that I will ignore but laugh at your low-life stature!!!
PoliticsGov Akpabio Tells Tambuwal To Resign And Wish Him Well In APC by Stoical(op): 1:05am On Oct 30, 2014
We have always suspected Tambuwal, says Akpabio

October 28, 2014 by Olusola Fabiyi, Abuja

Governor Godswill Akpabio  of Akwa Ibom State has said the PDP has always suspected the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr.  Aminu Tambuwal.

He said his defection to the APC did not come to him and the party as a surprise, but said that even with the defection, the ruling party still has majority in the House.

Akpabio, who spoke with journalists when he visited the national secretariat of the party in Abuja on Tuesday, said as an honourable, he would expect the speaker to resign.

He said, “We have always known the Speaker as a PDP man in name but APC in action and he has proved it to the world. I will only ask him to be honourable and resign especially as the PDP is not in crisis.

“I wished the Speaker well in his new party.”

PoliticsLott’s Daughter: President Jonathan’s Second Wife ??? by Stoical(op): 10:24pm On Oct 16, 2014
Sunday, May 29th 2011 Style, a publication of This Day Newspapers carried a story ‘Meet the Jonathans, Nigeria’s First Family. On the cover of the magazine was a picture of the President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience flanked by two of their children, a girl and a boy. It should have been the magazine’s finest moment except that the portrait being painted by This Day was incomplete. A search through the internet for President Jonathan’s children also brought up the picture of the two lovely children who appeared on the inaugural This Day Style cover of May 29th. Perhaps, This Day was unaware of all the facts when it published these details. This information which most Nigerians outside Bayelsa and Rivers have come to accept about the size of the first family is erroneous. President Goodluck Jonathan has four children and not two. He has two boys who do not appear in the picture. They are known to be living abroad with their mother, a daughter of Chief F.D Lott who is a former attorney general of Bayelsa State. Perhaps, the Nigerian public had been largely unaware of the existence of this part of the president’s family because of the failure of Niger Delta based newspapers and journals in capturing national attention due to their restricted area of circulation. National politics takes a back seat to state concerns in the region. Most people coming into Abuja from Port Harcourt however become aware soon enough that not much is known about the president except what the Lagos media have succeeded in capturing. Perhaps, the same might apply to the Vice President Namadi Sambo. A visit to Kaduna will obviously reveal much more than is known in Abuja. There is the need for Nigerians to know as much as possible of those who they put in power. It would be impossible in the United States or even in Europe for citizens of those countries to be unaware of the number of children belonging to their president. It is wrong to leave Nigerians in such ignorance.
The marriage of Goodluck Jonathan and Patience Ibifaka (nee Oba) Jonathan did not produce any biological children. The children who appeared in the Style cover picture are adopted children. As a deputy governor Goodluck Jonathan had made the alliance of a young lady, a law graduate of Rivers State University of Science and Technology, one of the daughters of Chief Lott. The liaison between them eventually resulted in the birth of two sons. These are the only biological sons of President Goodluck Jonathan. The two boys did not appear in the family portrait painted by This day Style on the day of the inauguration of President Jonathan. Investigations show that the boys had lived with their mother in Yenagoa for a while before they moved abroad for security reasons.

I don't seem to understand what this author was getting to, but is this true...?

Good day Friends,

I really need to understand this. Maybe, your advice will encourage some people or help others re-channeled their energies towards achieving a brighter future.

There was a news that one Mr Usuah, a taxi driver returned about #18M to the owner, which was forgotten in his cab; so many reactions, both positive and scaringly-negative ones were made, all through FB, NL and other media. Does this mean that most of us who accused the man of being a full by returning the money wouldn't have done the same? Is this the corruption within us, OR is it the fault of Govt that we think this way?

The other day, a friend said that someone reported a huge amount of money lodged into his account. He even went on to say that the guy was "foolish", that if he were the one, he would've withdrew the money and "burn" it.

Really, there are several of such cases. Is this the fault of Govt, home-bringing, peer influence, or were we born with this habithuh

It doesn't in any way exonerate the FG from stupidity. Instead, it ridicules the FGNs proclivity to making dumb cross border financial transactions.

If the government wanted so badly to 'illegally' buy weapons without the global watchdogs catching them, they should have been sensible enough to use someone without diplomatic immunity that will not be searched e.g the SA ambassador.

In fact, our ambassadors to some countries such as SA should be professionally trained spies not ordinary politicians

I concur with you...
Also, Whatever Diplomatic means have been used to settle this diplomatic brouhaha...I must commend it. I also wish to state that it's unwise to jump into unnecessary conclusion esp when one is not privy with the full facts(even though its sometimes hard to get this from govt agencies). Thirdly, govt should do much to have the confidence of Nigerian in terms of tackling CORRUPTION as it is rather than always label it something else.

Lastly, we shouldn't always dabble into foreign or diplomatic politics, when we don't know what's involved. With all due respect to the US and their citizens; American govt and others do flout international law/other sovereign laws and DIPLOMACY is always the solution...and their citizens do back them;from tapping of citizen's and foreign official phone lines by the US to destabilizing of another country's structures by russia. See, they are uncountable.

I know our govt aint doing enough to garner our support in these circumstances and also, ethnicity/religious divides also attributing to lack of support to the govt in power. But, the fact is, they still need our prayers and supports. Anyway, its an individual decisions!

Sorry to say this bro...but you talk ignorantly. This aint civilian that we are talking about. Civilian tolerates a lot of what you are talking about, but this is different in the military. Just like one person said here; military is like a cult and there are set down rules and disciplinary actions that follow suit. There are different means to air your grievianves in the military...including, usind the press, your relatives, the masses and so on...but please, you dare not go against your CO not to talk of GOC-i beg to say, no matter what they do to you (if you recall the popular saying, that in military, it is OBEY BEFORE COMPLAIN). Even those that have saved in NYSC can atleast attest to some of these sayings.

Having said the above...revolt is not even in the book for them. But, I only wish the C-in-C could step in and reduces their punishment (this is the emotional me talking though). But, truth be told, in as much as we wish things can be done properly in this country and investigation carried out to either avoid future reoccurence by purnishing the officers involved...you DARE NOT act in such manner, as a military personnel.

Yes, its emotional to lost peeps, especially when they where somehow reacting out of frustration, but that's military for you Bro and they all knew before they went in.

I also bet you that even the current recruitment going on, a lot of peeps are still going into it. Whether you go in because of lack of employment or not. An adage says, "When you are in Room, behave as the Romans".

1-BH may be using propaganda to fight their cause-Media outlets would be doing their best to report factually or to make their money-Govt agents would be doing their bid to quell the seeming tensions(which is proper)-I and U will be spending our money to either support or oppose BH actions, Give kudos/hatred to media outlets, Curse or Be Sympathetic to Govt, and lastly Call ourselves names on social media.
2-I and U may be right or wrong in our stands, wrt govt inactions/slow actions towards doing the right thing at the right time...and as such feel, if BH succeeds, a government maybe toppled and then peace might return later(brotherly and sisterly - ask those that experienced the Civil War how it was OR watchout the actions of ISIS or on a lighter note;fight in eastern Ukraine)

Please friends, let's not support BH in anyway, in as much as we continue to demand that the right actions should be taken by our "Leaders", let's rather pray for PEACE in NIGERIA and NOT to be sympathetic to the causes of BH.

If the west wanted to get rid of Africa two nuclear war heads would have done the magic!
Mr Shepherd, I hope not to sound too embittered with your comment but to state these for a fact: USA is a great power in the world - Yes, they can use nuclear war heads (only if other countries with such might would approve such). Remember, this is not beyond the capability of African nations, but for their selfish and blind leaders who prefers to sell their birthrights, just like Esau, for few riches to their family and immediate friends, thereby signing. MOUs that doesn't benefit them in the long term, rather their pockets. Or maybe, people like you who believe somethings can't be done in Africa, as such resort to licking their toes.
With all due respect to America, they give grants to Africa (because of what they feel they stand to gain with such magnanimity), not FEEDING Africa. So, if you think Africa will fall because America doesn't "feed" us, then this must be the joke of centuries.
Please, in a lighter note, you must not sound this way to prove your loyalty to USA, I trip for them too, but would never be as "you" to make that obvious. Peace!

HealthEbola Test Drug, Nano-silver, As Approved By Who(some Will Be So Tired To Read) by Stoical(op): 4:35pm On Aug 16, 2014
Before you start talking about a drug that hasn't been approved or is a pesticide, just because the condemnation is from USA, known that WHO approves the usage of these drugs and also know that the government ain't that stupid to deliberately wants to kill his people. After all, ZMAPP was refused us, but used on US citizen even when it hasn't been approved to be an Ebola drug. READ CAREFULLY and always research before you talk.
A drug, called “Nanosilver” an experimental drug for treatment of Ebola, will arrive the country today, health minister Onyebuchi Chukwu, has said.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that Dr (Mrs) Rima E. Laibow, the medical doctor behind 'Nano Silver' has written an open letter to President Goodluck Jonathan over the availability of the 'cure'.
The drug, called “Nanosilver”, can now be used following the approval by the World Health Organisation (WHO) that experimental treatments are ethical in the case of the Ebola pandemic.
Another experimental drug, ZMapp had been sent to Liberia on Wednesday, while Canada has decided to donate 1,000 vaccines to the affected countries.

According to Chukwu, the experimental drug is a donation from a Nigerian scientist who was concerned about threat of Ebola in his home country. “The drug will reach Nigeria today,” he said. Chukwu disclosed that the 169 secondary contacts were still under surveillance, while in all Ebola 11 cases had been recorded, including the index case, Patrick Sawyer, and the two Nigerians who died of the disease. “

According to the founder of Nanosilver “through the use of small doses (½ teaspoonful three times per day) of 10 PPM Nano silver administered to Ebola victims, contacts and potential contacts, Ebola and other contagious diseases can be eliminated as the deadly scourges that they currently are. This potentially beneficial nutrient therapy is highly cost-effective. Nano Silver is inexpensive”.

Below is the full text of Laibows letter to Jonathan

Your Excellencies, Honorable Ministers and Esteemed Directors,

I am writing urgently to propose to you that there is good reason to believe that there already is a natural solution for, and prevention against, the terrifying novel Ebola virus for which, at this point, no effective treatment or counter measures are thought to exist. When I addressed 47 African Ministers of Health in Mombasa in 2007 I was deeply concerned about pathogens such as Avian Influenza, HIV and Ebola. At the request of the newly elected President of the organization of Ministers of Health I delivered a similar statement of hope at that time to the one that follows. There is, in fact, a well-established, non-toxic anti-microbial, without any known side effects, available at remarkably low cost which – • Requires no refrigeration • Is self-sterilizing. • Is readily available • Has a very long shelf life • Is not subject to degradation under temperature and humidity extremes. That nutrient substance is Nano Silver. The anti-viral effects of Nano Silver are well known and well established by numerous studies. The risks of Nano Silver to the environment are slim-to-none since it is comprised not of colloidal or ionic silver particles (which can show some minor toxicity) but very small metallic silver particles. Its efficacy as a non-toxic, novel anti-viral therapy which leaves normal biota intact is extremely promising: “Silver nanoparticles have mainly been studied for their antimicrobial potential against bacteria, but have also proven to be active against several types of viruses including human imuno-deficiency virus, hepatitis B virus, herpes simplex virus, respiratory syncytial virus, and monkey pox virus. The use of metal nanoparticles provides an interesting opportunity for novel antiviral therapies.” Nano silver particles interfere with binding and replication in ways which cannot lead to the development of resistant organisms: And “…silver nanoparticles exert anti-HIV activity at an early stage of viral replication, most likely as a virucidal agent or as an inhibitor of viral entry. Silver nanoparticles bind to gp120 in a manner that prevents CD4-dependent virion binding, fusion, and infectivity, acting as an effective virucidal agent against cell-free virus (laboratory strains, clinical isolates, T and M tropic strains, and resistant strains) and cell-associated virus. Besides, silver nanoparticles inhibit post-entry stages of the HIV-1 life cycle. Conclusions These properties make them a broad-spectrum agent not prone to inducing resistance that could be used preventively against a wide variety of circulating HIV-1 strains.” Silver does not induce resistance in microorganisms and this ability in Nano-size is stronger. These results have been replicated often against many organisms. In fact, no reports were found in a literature search for Nano Silver failures as a virucide. Nano Silver as a natural virucide offers the following advantages: • All evidence suggests that Nano Silver will work where vaccines do not exist or fail and are effective even when the immune system is impaired, such as in AIDS. • While there are some suggestions of mild risks to the environment, our research shows that they are unfounded and often associated with conflicts of interest since the widespread use and acceptance of Nano Silver directly threatens both the powerful vaccine and antibiotic industries. • Nano Silver is widely used around the world for its anti-microbial characteristics and is, in fact, approved by the United States FDA as a surface cleaner for hospitals, food service and other health-sensitive areas because of its notable efficacy and non-toxic profile. • Sufficient short term protection for an individual outbreak cluster is provided by the use of Nano Silver that an epidemic can be effectively prevented even after infection clusters have been established. • Therapy can be started after infection, and normal immune function, including GI flora, is left intact to assist in recovery and prevent opportunistic co-infection. • There is no longer any need to vaccinate whole world populations for control of a viral epidemic.16 • Nano Silver is stable at room temperature. • Nano Silver offers a potentially beneficial therapy against virtually all types of viruses, bacteria and other pathogens (including malaria and dengue), is self-sterilizing, reducing its cost and increasing its usefulness in challenging circumstances. • Nano Silver is a pro-immunity nutrient. Even nature uses Nano Silver, which is produced as a natural virucide by some organisms. The organism making it showed that “the viral inactivation process was increased with increasing the concentration”. The entire world grieves with you and watches in fear and hope as the terrible Ebola virus takes an increasing number of lives in your countries while your valiant people try to stem the tide. But without effective, inexpensive countermeasures, containment will, as we all know, be impossible. The recent kidnapping of an afflicted woman from a hospital in Freetown, her subsequent death, and the arrival of an Ebola victim at the airport in Lagos makes that all too apparent. Every nation on this planet is just one airplane away from a pandemic. But through the use of small doses (½ teaspoonful three times per day) of 10 PPM Nano silver administered to Ebola victims, contacts and potential contacts, Ebola and other contagious diseases can be eliminated as the deadly scourges that they currently are. This potentially beneficial nutrient therapy is highly cost-effective. Nano Silver is inexpensive. One final note: even if Nano Silver did have the minor toxic profile incorrectly imputed to it, the risks are so small compared to the dangers of a viral epidemic with a 90% mortality rate that they would be irrelevant in this context. Vaccine adverse effects are well characterized and are deemed irrelevant in public health schemes. Their dangers are vastly greater than that of Nano silver, if any such risks do exist for this nano-virucide. Happily, the toxic profile is virtually non-existent, as the millennia-long record of its safety in its uses foods and other sensitive areas shows. “Small particles of silver have a long history as general antiseptic and disinfectant.” The Natural Solutions Foundation, an international NGO with a history of projects in Benin, Panama, Chile and the United States, stands ready to assist you in your efforts in any way possible. Our Nano Silver Pro-Immunity Protocol is available upon request. I await your response.

Yours in health and freedom, Rima E. Laibow, MD Medical Director, Natural Solutions Foundation

The problem with Ebola is that we medics do not have the facilities to deal with Ebola. Add the fact that it takes people long to get to hospital, zero good isolation facilities, and the fact that water does not flow regularly...and you get the picture.

At least....the health workers in Nigeria....not just docs...are doing a good job containing the virus so far. And Uganda...which has a good record combating ebola (and who has a High Grade Lab for Ebola testing too...at Gulu)....has sent health workers to give advice and care.

The story of EBola in West Africa is too complicated to just blame doctors.

That is why NMA and JOHESU should work together to fight for increased health care funding.
I love getting myself amused with comments on issues relating to nma strike, without having to quote or respond. Atleast, I am privy to why we are where we are now. First, it is unfortunate that the NMA strike due to 24 "commandments" has lingered to this day. And even as I dare say that some of their demands are meet-able, some are still unlikely, as such the question, How long was or is nma willing to go on this strike so has to have all their demands met? Then again, I paused to look at the trend of things, as it involves medical practices. We have MDCAN and ARD. While MDCAN might be the real employees of its employer "FG", ARD are the trainees, under MDCAN. But, then again, we all know that most of the attention we receive in the hospital is from the ARD, probably because they have the number, as against MDCAN or because they need the experience more, as such, works towards achieving that...
So, I ask from according to hear-says and reliable source (a MBBS friend), "Who stands to lose more in this struggle?" If the meeting as it is to take place by the nma isn't fruitful as usual, and government seems to have its way. Doesn't this tell of something; that either the MDCAN is failing to protect their junior ones ARD or that they are more sensible to the plight of Nigerians or ARD as I am aware of, is taking their usual firm stand...right or wrong, refusal for negotiations, etc (how do I know this, still experience/collective info from ARD political bigwigs' discussions around me).
Well, I pray a resolution is in sight soon, as my friends would be seriously affected;learning, morally and financial wise.

Please, this is no longer an issue of I am better than this fellow, or this fellow didn't pass through 7 years in school. It ain't an issue of this fellow mustn't be a director or consultant, rather I feel its time, all hands were on deck to sort out issues as related to proper healthcare in Nigeria.

I am rest assured that I would both be vilified and vindicated on this piece, depending on how and what kind of biased you sense about it.

I submit by saying, Federal government is wrong or not, NMA from time imemorial don't often cater well for their ARD wing. Best of Negotiations is my expectations. Thanks

MrMcJay: OP, from the quality of the nonsense you put up there, it is obvious your brain is cooked.

Well, I don't blame you. A dunce campaigning for a retard.

May God handle your your life the way GEJ has handled Nigeria.

dalhat14: Now that there is a clear risk of being infected with the
Ebola virus in Nigeria, why have the JOHESU warlords
suddenly gone mute? Shouldn't they rise up to the occasion
and take the lead in this fight against the dreaded disease,
why is everyone calling on doctors to call off the strike and
return to save patients...... How ironic. So doctors do take
the lead afterall, they also are evidently the most vulnerable
as has been shown, yet the most vilified for asking for the
implementation of already signed agreements. May God
save our country from this Ebola virus...
Sorry, I had to quote you...Grow up and stop allowing ego eat you up. Who knows, you may not be so vilified. Really, you're important, so are others. Capiche!
