Only Fashola had more projects than Aregbesola did of all the SW governors when just their 1st terms are compared. This ogbeni is so determined to develop the state of Osun as he did when he was the Commissioner of Works in Lagos state under the Tinubu administration.

He has not allowed the need to pay the minority population civil service salaries stop the need to also invest in infrastructure that benefits all.

Posterity will judge which was more important.

I go with infrastructure because I am not employed by the Osun civil service, so I do not know where the shoe pinches.
PoliticsRe: Go And Bring Federal Presence To Bayelsa, Dickson Tells APC by StOla: 11:36pm On Aug 02, 2016
Governor Dickson has just indirectly called Jonathan an Ineffectual Buffoon who ruled like a clueless kindergarten pupil for 5yrs.

As for Dickson himself, Jonathan campaigned for his re-election and urged the Ijaw only citizens of Bayelsa to vote for the PDP Dickson who is Ijaw over the APC Sylva who is also Ijaw and had ruled the Ijaw state before. Jonathan summarised his reason for campaigning for Dickson's re-election not because of 1st term performance, but a need to vote in PDP again because it is an Ijaw party.

Like Dumb and Dumber, like Lucky and a Dick.

Caroline Kennedy never lost the election to the US senate for the NewYork seat that was vacated by Hillary Clinton and once held by her uncle Sen Robert Kennedy, seeing that she never contested at all.

She only indicated interest but remained a weak aspirant and eventually withdrew from the race long before the democratic party primary campaign for that seat even began.

I fail to see a glass house here, just a common name and no identity.

I believe the 2012 news here concerns Nasarawa state which is not in any way adjacent to Kano state that Jibrin the honourable comes from.

As for the Jibrin mentioned in this 2012 news, it would be nice if those who have revived this old news actually tell us the current status of the trial of former governor Akwe Doma and all the co-accused, including this Jibrin associated with this particular case.

It seems nowadays, everyone in the world bears a unique name never borne before and never to be borne by anyone else.

If so, then Jibrin was charged before. That he is a free man without a conviction record, only means he has been found not guilty.

I believe the WHO and UN need to research into the Igbo ability to nurture hate and bequeath/inherit hate.

Once the hate can be eradicate as a disease from the Igbo patient, the world would have managed to eradicate hate as a cause of conflict world wide.

An Igbo man is ready to separate himself from himself just to enable him hate himself as reaction to an enemy doing him any good.

The wise Tinubu saw the snake in this man and use all the tricks in the textbook to ensure he did not become an APC chairman in their convention. That made him leave APC angrily and joined PDP where he was quickly rewarded by GEJ with permission to use the airport in his state that was closed to even the state governor.
Wike and Fayose in an attempt to seized the PDP party structure away from the founding fathers and from GEJ (mostly GEJ's men though as the man seem uninterested in what goes on in the party) went to dig out Sherrif from sleep. Now they have not only lost the party structure, they have a very cunny, rich man with guts to deal with. The man knows the game in and out and also knows how to use the law to his favour.
He joined the party just a few years ago, but I think the guy knows PDP's constitution more than those who wrote it themselves and he is using it very well against them.

Now Fayose is saying he made a mistake. This is just the beginning.
Haven't you heard about the glutton that also swallowed the fish bone? That is the case of PDP's greed and the fish bone called Sheriff.

All what u are saying makes no sense my friend. You are just relying on fallacious appeal to pity, which wont work. GEJ won an election based on popular support. I remember campaigning vigorously for him in 2011. He lost the election simply because he failed nigerians. Wen it came to corruption, jonathan actively campaigned for people to loot the nation dry, blocked every attempt to bring thieves to justice with his numerous kangaroo "ppresidential committees" and actually punished those who dared to raise alarm against looters. You may have a short memory, but most of us dont!
Even at the re-election campaigns, Jonathan left no one in doubt that he has no intention to fight corruption.

He dared to chastise Buhari regime for jailing a thief called Nwobodo. He claimed the money ($5.1m) was not enough to buy a Peugeot.

He kept on encouraging the youth to vote for him so that they won't go to jail. Is Metuh or Dasuki or Badeh or Amosu the youth he was trying to protect in his 2nd term.

Jonathan redefined theft, embezzlement, and institutionalised corruption. Even Babangida had to remark that even his own regime that was accused of widespread corruption cannot compare to the rot of the Jonathan regime.

Typical Nigeria anti Igbo mentality....how do we destroy this overly qualified Igbo woman? The only way is to find something that all of us can not recite with full competence...that is the National Anthem. I wish I was her aid behind her when the wicked anti Igbo beast posed her that question...I'd have to her in her ears, don't recite nothing instead ask him to recite it first to embarrass the i$diot. This is how qualified people are bypassed in this country for envy, instead you have uneducated, dummies running our country into ditches.
Typical Igbo hypocrisy. When a Northerner could not recite the anthem earlier at this same screening, he was found unqualified by the Igbos who made a mockery of the North. When an Igbo could not, the anthem requirement became irrelevant to the same Igbos.

Only the Igbo is qualified by merit to hold every position available, any other tribe gets it by quota?

The 1st Republic comes to mind. Only Igbos everywhere using their position in the ruling government to help themselves to federal offices, even wailing about the Northern region not allowing them to dominate, when their own Eastern region gave nothing to anyone that wasn't from the region.

You have been condemned by the very standard you set. I'm sure many Igbos are embarrassed that this woman put their arrogant tribe to shame by failing to attain the standard for which they had already crucified the Northern nominee with much pleasure.

Egg on your face.

I didn't know that Osun state gets 13% derivation for crude produced in Delta state?

The loss of Delta state has always been the gain of Rivers state. A once bustling Warri in the 80s 90s is now a ghost town no better than Abakaliki or Yenagoa. All the oil producers and service firms are totally relocated to Port Harcourt. Soon Warri and Delta state would compete with Mars in the search for human existence after the self destruction is over.

Are the Yorubas looking for any friendship with Ijaw terrorists to begin with?

If the so called real militants show up any where in the SW, the military will come in again and do what they do best - kill and ask questions later.

Why are you concerned about what OPC does in its own region?

They were well equipped and paid by an Ijaw president who was looking to sponsor any regional militia to win re-election in those regions. Now the same weapons and funds would be used to terminate the Ijaw criminals straying too far from home.

PoliticsRe: Who Would Be Yoruba Future Leader?from A Concern Omoluabi by StOla: 7:30pm On Jul 31, 2016
Fashola is an administrator not a politician. Same with Fayemi.

Of all that you've mentioned, Amosun might be the only one who qualifies with the way he disposed of Osoba in the APC Ogun State chapter power tussle.

In all, to operate at the level of OBJ and Tinubu, you need to be able to create foot soldiers. Only Amosun comes close by seeing off the challenge from Tinubu to have Edun as minister from Ogun state. Amosun ensured his own pick, Kemi Adeosun, became not just the nominee from Ogun, but the Finance minister.

Amosun is already having a foot soldiers in a top position. The rest only have foot soldiers as special assistants to themselves.

Did I also mention the need to have international connections? Tinubu and OBJ and Atiku are the only 3 politicians alive in Nigeria that have this far reach.
That was the extra package that Tinubu and OBJ gave the Buhari candidacy in his 4th attempt at the presidency.

As for Fayose, he is just a governor who controls his own state like any typical Nigerian governor. He has no political reach outside of his state and has no administrative skill beyond cutting Kpomo or eating Iyan beside the village gutter. He could have boasted that he helped made Sherrif the PDP chairman, but that is now an action he regrets and has cut ties with the man who now happens to be the legitimate chairman if his party.

No serious leader would even take that statement as a go ahead to go to war. One may even consider it as a threat to the Nigerian government that if ibos are allowed to go that Yorubas will follow suit.
I don't understand how a trained colonel, a product of Sandhurst and Oxford would interpret this as a green light to declare. By the way, Awo was not a soldier and he didn't have any army.
The statement was very clear that if they are ALLOWED.

At no point was any promise made to fight any war or team up with the Eastern region to fight against the North.
When it became evident that the East was not going to be allowed to leave, Awolowo appealed to Ojukwu to retrace his steps and find a middle ground with the Nigerian Government. Awolowo likewise demanded that all Northern army officers that populated Lagos and the Western region, be relocated to their region of origin, to allow the different regions still in Nigeria to negotiate the continued existence of the country from a position of safety.

Ojukwu chose to be impatient and went ahead with his own secession plans and then decided to venture past the neutral MidWest while committing atrocities there, and headed to the Western Region and Lagos, so that the civil war will be fought outside of his own Eastern region.

It was after all these that Awolowo joined the Gowon cabinet and pledge allegiance to a united Nigeria.

shukuokukobambi:
Don't mind the OSU yeeboe running mad on nairaland. See what Prof Okey Ndibe, an Igbo with a pedigree said about his own biafran experience. see some excerpts

Some unscrupulous officers of the beleaguered Biafra diverted food to their homes. Bags of rice, beans and other foods, marked with a donor agency’s insignia, were not uncommon in markets. The betrayal pained my father. He railed by signing and distributing a petition against the Biafran officials who hoarded relief food or sold it for profit.

The petition drew the ire of the censured officials; the signatories were categorized as saboteurs. To be tagged a saboteur in Biafra was to be branded with a capital crime. A roundup was ordered. One afternoon, some grave-looking men arrived at our home. They snooped all over the house. They turned things over. They pulled out papers and pored over them, brows crinkled half in consternation, half in concentration. As they ransacked the house, they kept my father closely in view. Then they took him away.

Father was detained for several weeks. I don’t remember that our mother ever explained his absence. It was as if my father had died. And yet, since his disappearance was unspoken, it was as if he hadn’t.

https://www.guernicamag.com/features/my_biafran_eyes_1/

Imagine the idiots who led unfortunate civilians into a senseless war were also preventing the civilians from getting the donated food!!! Yet they keep screaming about Awo as if na Awo born the useless and wicked leaders they had then angry
They even boasted then that they rather have weapons than food, only for them to be wailing after the war on how they suffered without food.

It is a case of a man who felt he was fasting for religion sake, only to realise in the future that the Pastors family was always well fed, he begins to rue the days of his fasting and realises he was suffering then. So that they did not get Biafra saddens them that they wasted lives that ought to have been saved had they given up after the blockade - the main goal of a blockade itself.

Imagine a rebel state that is already totally blockaded still making demands on how food by charity organisations must be supplied on its own terms without Nigerian inspection. That many Biafran veterans have come out to confess that most of the night air flight supply of food and other relief by the charity organisations contained weapons, shows that the fears of the Nigerian Government was well founded.
PoliticsRe: Sheriff's Chairmanship In PDP Is A Mistake - Fayose by StOla: 6:45pm On Jul 31, 2016
The leaders of the Biafrans have always been known for making mistakes.

From Ojukwu who realised life is important after sacrificing 20million Igbo souls, and ran with his own 1 life to Abidjan, enjoying the comfort and company of different women while there. Then we had Uwazurike of MASSOB, who after numerous arrests decided he was too old not to enjoy the little life he has left. Then we had the Director of propaganda, that one they call Kanu, who thought because he had watched all the seasons of Spartacus, he can also lead an insurrection of trader gladiators.

Finally, Fayose the one who they love because they have a mutual enemy in the President. Who campaigned vigorously to install a fish bone in the throat of the gluttonous PDP.

Now the bone is stuck. The only way out is to behead the party to remove a stubborn bone that was on its own way to the dustbin of politics, but the greedy wouldn't let a fish bone be.
