Sanguine: Imagine them asking the FG to pay them their salary arrears for the past four months. They want to eat their cake and have it. Utter Nanzenzical absurdity!!lol. Here's my opinion on the matter. Getting a first degree isn't easy. Everyone knows that. Now think of the journey to becoming a professor. first degree, then masters, the 3 to 4 years spent getting a phD. Now during that time u must be reading oh.....and publishing sensible journals (those of us who have experienced project in final year should understand this) now u will think that after phD work don finish but this isn't true. To remain relevant, u must continue to write and publish.....if u don't you cannot become a professor. If you notice i've not even added the fact that while all this is happening, the lecturer has to supervise both bsc and msc students, lecture students, take care of a family, prepare lecture notes, mark scripts etc So while this strike was on many lecturers finally had time to finish their research, some finally published something new (contributing to knowledge is work so don't let FG deceive u), some read up their project students work...etc the bottom line is lecturers look lazy to us because we don't see them in class during strike but they are always working.....always. So not paying them for four months is just being unfair. Can u imagine not receiving pocket money for 4months? Omo i can't oh |
Lamuel7: The thread is alive again... Una do well oooooo!!!we are here oh ![]() and we miss you too..........u can see we've started debating here thanks to this strike. Lol. How are u? |
Sanguine: If the underlined happens, I go just park my bags and baggage go kuwait.hahahaha ofcourse na! Who will pay that type money here? How many ppl get am sef? Abegi joo lol. okay @All, i'm off to bed now. @ sanguine...ur company is fun oh. U and planetuzor resemble ![]() oya goodnight *big hugs* |
Sanguine: The Very undoing of this great country called Nigeria, is corruption. Once that is totally nipped in the bud, then I bet you, Nigeria would be very good to achieve even much more than other so called world powers have achieved. That's it na. Nigeria can sentence somebody to death for armed robbery, but politicians rob us daily and are free. See the death of Professor Iyayi....has anybody been arrested for negligence? Where is Wada now? That's Nigeria for u. Immediately we curb corruption we will move forward and we as a nation must curb corruption from the top....from the top oh as in aso rock. yes....emmmm....i still want class to start soon sha....so ASUU and FG abeg do quick. |
odizeey: country wen demons dey control,d winsh for here na lack winsh, wen no like betA tyn at allhahahahaha.....odizeey abeg lemme oh |
planetuzor: Tama University Tokyo, established in 1989.- "wikipedia"that's just the fact. ASUU went on strike in 2009 over this same issue. This is 2013....almost 2014 they have not done one thing they promised. Not one. Instead they spent these 5 months "re-negotiating" Abeg lemme forget about this matter. The best thing is for all schools to be private owned. Then school fees will be like 600k per student that's when FG will wake. |
odizeey: Planet u suppose knw d age of dose schools na,see....nigerians always use this excuse. We don't need to be a hundred years b4 we do the correct thing. We have been spared the need to make the mistakes other countries made. We should learn from the older nations. See Dubai na..... we dey use armoured car and Samsung tech but we can't refurbish our libraries? Abeg lets tell the truth. other nations put as much as 28% of the nations money into education....guess what Nigeria the giant of Africa spares for education......less than 9%. Its shameful na. 9% of the nations wealth? Just reason am na |
charleymed: @storm2, Congrats on your admission. Where is everyone?Thank you very much ![]() no mind others here oh they just by-passed my good news ![]() i guess people are busy with stuff. Kai....i really want to start my lectures abeg. Lemme experience this almighty gross anatomy for myself. ASUU and FG oh!!!! KVN1: Hello guys,by GOD's grace,I got admission to study vet med in unn,but I'm plannin' 2 change to medicine through the change of course programme.Guys pls what are the courses that I'll need 2 borrow in order 2 enhance this process?congratulations sir......welcome to den ![]() |

U have an MSc? In biochem? Whoa! |
odizeey: Storm we hear o. So u mean govt no dey gv dem five kobo, wat of school fees, whr e dey go,naija is genraly corrupt in all waysI cannot argue with with that. Naija is corrupt no question. God dey sha. Nigerians are starting to wake up now.... |
planetuzor: Nwa Teacher is On PointHahahaha...if it were up to me nursery, primary, secondary and university/poly teachers would be given all the need cos in a society education should be most important. But trust africa na...so sad. Toprank: Pls my people when i printed my admission letter the name of my town is addressed twice as in ikeja ikeja lagos state after my names... do u people also have it likeHmmm....dearie..is this a big problem? Cos if that's the only error I don't think u should worry abt it....I never saw my own admission letter in my time so I can't help..sorry..lol. |
odizeey: u ppl hv failed to realise dat materials n equipments r not d problem of our education system. Its corruption, molesting by lecturers, abi ghana gt equipment pass us,i doubt o. Na equipment dem dey tk deprive ppl wen suppose gt admission deir ryt? Abi a d equipment n building capacity dey mk lecturers fail students wen suppose pass? Or naim dey mk dem fail gals wen no gree for dem? Abeg forget struggle e. After 3 yrs u guys will come here n say ASUU is a disappointment just watchU have brought up totally different issues....equally important oh but different nontheless. See, there are 2main problems....the first and most annoying is under funding by FG. That's why students have no seats, no public address system, no functional toilets...no equipments in labs... That's why lecturers have no offices, no internet connection in some cases...haba its enough to annoy anybody na. The politicians make it look as if lecturing isn't a worthy profession...they have done it such that even mumu's are allowed to lecture. That has to stop. The second is abuse of power by some lecturers...it is up to students to refuse to be abused...40 uniben staff were sacked recently na...Dr Ophori in my department (microbiology) was sacked because he was caught extorting money from a girl. She refused to go down and instead set him up. What I'm trying to say is let us address one issue at a time. And let us all do our part. No lecturer could or can ever abuse me. I know my rights...but for now...let the FG do their part. FUND OUR SCHOOLS so that lecturers can be happy and have all they need to do their work...then with time the bad eggs can be picked out. Haven't u heard unical demoted some profs? Forget oh...things are looking up......the abuse u are talking about pains me a lot...even in hospitals u'll see doctors/nurses talking to patients as if they're cows...if we enter that topic we won't finish...let's just face one thing at a time abeg. |
Favour815: @Storm. Is the combination of WAEC and NECO SSCE allowed in UNIBEN?Emm...I think so....I'm not sure though but I believe so...it sometimes depends on the department. Goodluck. |
Ken excel: storm dear i didnt insult him and am nt fond of dat..so dnt get it twisted......was just a candid advice which in implied meanin i told him to think well....the only fin u will say is dat i said it in an infernal manner dat was base on my mood @ den....nt an insult!!I understand....lol.....just didn't want it to escalate...u know how it is na...heated discussion and all... ![]() |
Ken excel: supposin it was truly a nice struggle y on earth will ebsu break out frm ASUU and resume?Frankly everyone is pissed. Even I'm pissed. But I know that FG has been lying all along. Naija is a selfish nation...both ASUU and FG don't give a crap about the youth. But as for the struggle concerning universities...I support ASUU. Immediately the government pumps the appropriate amount of funds in to our public schools u'll see the difference. That is what this struggle is really about. Not salary |
Ken excel: Bro use ur sense and talk sense ......wif all wat av been hapenin so far which kind struggle are u talkin abt?..fg has been playin deir rule very well bt ASUU is tryin to outsmart dem..dem fink say dem wise.!!rubbishCome! We don't insult each other here. Express urself w/o the insults please. Thanks |

lomaxx: ***Your job as a smart student is to know information that you need, as you will be guided by your lecturers.Hmmm....yeah I'd rather do things the smart way ![]() Cos I was wondering how a person will settle down and read a textbook with so many pages #matter settled# thanks... |

rationalmind: So we heard AAUA pulled off only for the schools ASUU chapter to debunk the news and refuse the managements mandate to resume.whoa!!! And i was dancing makosa just now. Sha.....maybe we will soon hear some news concerning the issue. Kai private schools will be laughing at us now. 5months and FG is claiming they give a crap about us......i laugh in Hindu. |
