youghs: There's something going on in the COIN of borno that calls for concern. In recent time ISWAP attacks have reduced significantly and even when they attack these days it doesn't seem to carry much weight. My best guess is either they are conserving their ammo and resources for dry season offensive or JF17 have been carrying out precision strike to wipe out their guntrucks. I feel those people are leaving that theatre in droves, to other part of the country. They are arriving in the North West, in large numbers. We need to counter this mass exodus of terrorists. It will be very bad if we can't contain them to one region. P.S Jos still tensed with uneasy quietness. Thanks to everyone who enquired about me. War is not funny. The vulnerable and weak pay the price for dirty politics. |

Arrived home, saw plenty broken molotov cocktails everywhere. Still tensed. Learnt they are coming for us. They have advantage. They are on higher ground. |

I once stated here that I'm at jtown. We currently hearing gunshots right now . The town is tensed. Helicopters are in the air. Seems security is in the area. When people state the truth, others will come to deny. Over 30 people were killed last night less than 8km from my location. God help us all. |

Salatavor: You are a wise fellow... I like you. Do you happen to like beer?
Fighting your own war is different from fighting another man's war. Most people will not bleed a drop for another country but will raise hell for their own. The US case in Afghanistan can never be compared to how we replaced Boko Haram in our border town with a more inoculated kind of threat that will prove almost impossible to manage... I don't drink. Absolutely. I concur. |

If you ever feel depressed, remember that the "Giant of Africa" elected a retired General as its president, spent billions of dollars on its military, bought squadron of super tucanos and a handful of 4th generation aircrafts, bought 3rd generation MBT, became first sub saharan country to employ the use of UCAV in combat. Just to replace Bokoharam with banditry and allow an attack on its foremost military institution. |

Coolliot: This is what happens when you fighting technique is based on airpower alone, the moment you can't always call air power, the fighting becomes bloody, and it's something training doesn't prepare you for. I bet you, remove air power and let the USA face the Taliban squarely they would flee too. Absolutely. I still don't get it. I don't get how regular troops can't fight asymmetric warfare without air support. In Afghanistan case, i think the terrain is one of the odds against foreign troops |

Faithful007: They weren't meant for the entire city. Everyone expected the Afghan military to hold back Taliban from Kabul. The personnel were for embassy and airport protection. More personnel have been deployed currently. This is the sole fault of Afghanistan. I don't think the Afghans ever wanted to hold out alittle. Immediately the United States started evacuating, the Afghans lost hope and interest. They just lost interest in the war. |
