Hi mate,

From my experience, passports dispatched without medical request (unless medical was done upfront) usually mean refusal. This doesn't mean you should lose hope, I just inferred based on what I know.

You would have been able to know the exact situation should you have linked your application on cic website, which is not late yet.

In any case, I suggest you check VFS anytime this week, it may have arrived. All the best.

Aaaziz:
Hello house
Please need your help/opinion i applied on 25 May paper route via tracking it was stated passport has been dispached on 23 August but notification message was sent on 28 August that passport has been dispached but uptill this moment no notification message for pick up of passport when I contacted vfs via charting i was told my passport was in transit.
1, Is it advisable to go to vfs and check?
2, What's the possibility of medical request while passport has been dispached without request of medical?
Please i nees your experience info to calm my nave thanks

I don't makeup( though I love lipsticks like crazy!), I don't go out. Expenses are just for body lotions and clothes and I'm good to go .

My marriage day chaiii, people will only see pictures. I only want my engagement party to be big, gonna invite our friends and family, then he pays my bride price which is 120 in my town. grin

After then I would loved to organize a small party at home. Maybe give them money to cook food or buy a full goat and share among themselves so dem no go worry me for night. grin

Hi friends!

Just to report that I landed safely yesterday. I also want to share list of documents required at POE to help our new thread followers. I landed at Toronto, passed through security/custom checks, filled an asset declaration form (showing that I do not have up to 10,000CDN or more with me handy and then went direct to the Boarder Services to get my Study Permit.

First, the officer will ask (Where you are coming from and Why have you come into canada - what did you come to do). Tell them your country and that you are here for studies.

Documents:
1. Acceptance Letter from School (showing that you met conditions of admission. Come along with any document satisfying any listed conditions if any).
2. Introduction Letter from CIC (the visa approval letter).
3. If you have paid any fees, show evidence.
4. If there were vital communication between you and your school (maybe via emails), do print them out. You may need them.
5. And of course your Int'l Passport!

Once done they will ask you to sit down and then call you in few mins to hand over your permit to you. Next thing after that is your Insurance (Health Card). If your next connecting flight is almost ready, they will tell you to go and complete that later when you arrive at school. If not, you will do it there and fast.

With your study permit in your hands, you are welcome!

I stayed back in the Airport to open bank account and paid in my cash (USDs) into my Canadian Account, got ATM card, Online Banking Logiins, etc within 30 mins. Very fast!

I'm writing from Regina, and I'm all fine here. Aside the UNFRIENDLY COLD AND SNOWY WEATHER.

I wish all travel & trv hopefuls success. I will always help with anything I can. Cheers guys and thanks for the gurus who provided help and guide during my application and travel.

Wilfred.

It will take close to 7 days....and pray u aren't given conditional admission cz u will hv to fulfil the conditions before u will den be issued unconditional admission. Regina don't waste time with admission process. For visa application, it seems the paper route is the fastest way to get ur trv. Let the gurus in the house enlighten u on that.

In my case, University of Regina took about 5 months to process my admission! I strongly doubt that they will respond to an admission request in 7 days. U of R is one of the most sought after school in that region due to their high standard and comparably low fees for Masters Degree Programmes. I confirmed this while curious as to why my admission/rejection took time, U of R is one of the schools in Canada that take time to process admissions.

I applied June 09, and got conditional admission October 5th. My conditions were reference letters to be sent by post (instead of e-mail) and my original certificate to be presented. The first one has been fulfiled, and I am set to travel with the certificate as I have only one copy and cannot afford to risk sending it by courier. Kindly note that I used the same conditional admission letter to apply for TRV and still got it in 1 month and 4 days, so conditional and no conditional is not an issue (provided those conditions are easily met).

In my opinion, I would suggest that you also apply for another school while you wait (just in case). In my time I applied for Carleton and got admitted in 2 weeks while still waiting for U of R. However I have chosen to go to U of R for some reasons. I'll be here to help anytime you need help regarding U of R. I should be in Regina by December 20th. Cheers guys!

Congrats.....pls on your letter of approval is there a deadline in which u must leave nigeria? .....that's to say if one decides not to go this December. ...can u still travel with same visa like July?

Thanks @Vickyehi,

A correspondence from my faculty stated that I can resume either Jan, May or Sept. However, I was told to arrive somewhere around a month to resumption for any of the semesters I wish to join classes. The admission letter also stated same. So I think you can get clue from there. Cheers. Were you admitted into U of R as well?

Proof of funds does not mean you have to have the amount with you. The only thing is to convince them at the POE that you have sufficient funds to support your stay. I am sure that they do not need any SOA at the POE, but if you are taking more than $10,000 with you remember to declare it. Your online banking can also come in handy to show them that you have funds to support you.
On a lighter note, visa application has turned us into thinking that even $10000 is small money, but infact it is not even to them. So believe me someone who can present at $10000 at POE is well capable of taking care of him/herself anywhere in the world (IMHO). All the best.

Smiles, you are right. Your reply just reconfirmed what @Nony1 told me on whatsapp. Great, I guess am ready now. I already booked a flight for 18th and have gotten in touch with U Regina International Student Support and they gave instructions to follow at the airport. God blesssmiley

I NEED HELP PLEASE.

My TRV was approved on Dec. 6th, University of Regina, Msc. I had a balance of $32,543USD in my statement when I applied (100% self sponsored). I have paid advance tuition of $4000CDN to the school before visa application. So I later used some money after my application for some personal and company business so I have only about $14,000USDs left in my account as at this moment.

I read from my approval letter that I need to show PROOF OF FUNDS AT POINT OF ENTRY IN CANADA. I am worried, which proof of funds do I need to show? Is it the same statement of account i used to applied for visa or do I need to PRINT A NEW ONE? Money will come to my account by December 23rd, but I must have gone by then. And can only access the cash via online banking transfer from Nigeria.

I am worried that if I print a new one the amount inside will not be enough to show the officers at the point of entry. Do they bother on this so much or do I need to just carry the old statement I used to apply for TRV. I am traveling on December 18th.

Please I seek guide and advise from all of us and the BOSSES on the FORUM. Thanks guys!

Thank God with me brethren, my TRV was approved today. This dream started when I discovered this travel section in my 300l, then my cumulative was 3.42(second class lower) I found out that I can't get admission into most Msc programs in Canada with a 2.2. In my last two years in school, I worked very hard and finally graduated with 3.58 ( second class upper).....

Congrats bro, mine was approved today as well. U Regina, Msc., Statistics. When do you intend going and please any flight arrangement yet?
