Romance / Re: Your Boyfriend Is Not Your Husband! by StudentsNG: 10:50am On Oct 23, 2019
A PLEASANT DIGRESSION: FOR THE GIRLS THAT CALL THEIR BOYFRIENDS STINGY!

His mother trained him in school selling soyamilk. She had to sell her Hollandaise cloth and gold jewelry's to raise his school fees.
His father was a farmer! He spends most of his time in the bush battling with sand and wild animals just to keep some money for his son who would be coming back home next weekend from school.
His siblings joined the parents to work hard so as to train at least one person in school to speak for the family in future.
His elderly sister got married to a rich man too early and didn't go to school. Their reason was to give way for their only son to go to school and if possible so that their rich in-law can support them.
Their last born went to learn trade so as to allow the first born have his way and finish from the medical school.
The entire family invested all their resources on one person. Instead of trying to train everyone and end up training nobody, they chose to invest on one person because of lack of resources.
Now he is out of school. Got a job and he is paid 120k monthly. He wants to wipe her mother's tears at last. He wants to reward his tireless father for a his struggle. He wants to let his siblings know that he appreciates their sacrifices.
There are still some friends who lent him some money at times when his family could not come up with something. They were close and good friends. He also wants to be nice to them.
Then he meets you, a young lady with fine face, full-breasted and round buttocks and he tells you "I love you" Yes, he has all those responsibilities but he still has feelings and still falls in love and would still want to get married too.
Now you have found out his salary is 120k and you are like "Yea! At least I'll be getting like 30k - 40k from him monthly." As far as you are concerned, having a boyfriend is a lucrative business. You want him to carry all your responsibility on his shoulder and when he doesn't meet up with your greedy expectations you brand him stingy and loveless.
Sister, let me be very honest with you: you are NOT his responsibility at all until he marries you. For now, the only thing he gives you is CASUAL GIFTS. Yes, supporting your school fees is NOT his responsibility even if he has proposed. Feeding you or paying your house rent is NOT his responsibility either. Just in case you want to hear the truth from me: buying you Christmas cloth or shoes is not his responsibility at all.
Anything he gives you now is simply a WILLING GIFT.
You should actually be very ashamed of your very self to boldly come out on social media to complain that a man who is not married to you is not giving you enough money for hair bla bla bla. Legally married women are complaining, even you that do not know his family is also complaining. What a shame!
What happened to your hands?
Don't you have a family?
Are you insinuating that all your family - from father to the last born - are all poverty stricken and wretched? How would a guy who just expressed his feelings for you suddenly become the source of your living?
It is absolutely shameful for a woman to depend on a man who simply professed his love for you. No marriage yet and you are already bringing your family problem to him because he works at Shell. Please, cover your family shame small.
It is also an act of absolute wickedness for you to get worried and jealous when he takes care of his parents and siblings.
They were there for him. If you had met him when they stood for him, you probably wouldn't have accepted him. He is already a doctor before you met him. Would you have been there for him if you met him when he was a nobody?
Guess what? His parents stood with him. They believed in him. They gave all their resources for him. His siblings were there for him.
Now all of a sudden you want him to abandon them because you have some kpomo inbetween your legs? Sister, you are wicked!
If I say may someone do the same to your mother, how will you feel?
You're not the only person in his life please.
Stop being a parasite and work for your own money. Wait until he marries you but as for now, you are not his responsibility at all!
One of the most disgusting and shameful thing I have ever heard about relationship is when a lady says "He has to give me money or no sex, let him go and sleep with his sisters if he thinks about them more than me"
Sister, you are foolish!
Even foolish people are calling you foolish!
The sex was between the two of you, right?
I am sure you were not in hell during the sex. You were also enjoying it. So why should he pay you? Yes, because if sex is your reason for demanding money, then we know he is paying for the sex and you are automatically a harlot because they are the people who collect money for sex.
In as much as some don't support sex outside marriage but...
You would have told him from onset that you ain't here for love but for "sex business"
Define your mission properly so he would know he is supposed to pay you on agreement but if you are here for love, then keep money aside.
He can only give you GIFTS willingly, not as if he has any financial responsibility in you.
Get that clear and stop disgracing us!
Be a woman of substance and make your money and then keep your respect.

pocohantas:
OP, you have been through a lot and that has made you connect with the empathetic side of you. Humans like your type, they take advantage of your type, they emotionally blackmail your type...

Somehow they don't know you give just because it is who you are. They think you are "mugu" or one with few responsibilities. Been there, done that...not anymore.

You need to learn to say NO and mean it. Before they tell you their problems, start telling them yours. Buhari is still the President abi?

Look around and you might identify a need that can enable you diversify. There is real estate and if you are looking for how to invest your "cash"- look beyond (Tier 1) commercial banks. They don't encourage such. Other financial houses, including MFBs are your best bet.

Also be careful of the kind of woman you let into your life. All these new-generation slaykwins that live for the moment are very bad for a struggling young man.

A very good advise, more or less summarized all I was going to say.

To add:
OP, if you have some tangible sums, invest into fixed interest rate security assets: T-Bills or FGN Bonds. Don't worry the government will always pay you no matter how stupid the leaders are. I ventured into this early this year at considerably fair interest rates (slightly above 14%). So far its been good, having gotten paid for first half of 2019. Leave some idle monies there and continue your work/business as if you had nothing.

I was like you between 2015-2018 but not until I got hit with a loss in a huge investment. That was for me, a turning point. I ran a financial check through my bank statement and could see how many tens of millions I had 'wrongly' spent in 3 years; 'fiaam' my eyes opened.

These days I am strict, for the sake of myself, my wife and kids. What we have decided is to 'give' to charity at the end of each year, depending on how fruitful the year went. Don't be compelled to give what you do not have. Do not let "church givings" bankrupt you and minimize lending money to friends (stop it is possible), it spoils friendships - unless of course those who got your back in your times of need. If such friends are smart enough, let them work their work or approach lending institutions.

All the best.

Who gives a fck about name the company is called? It is the product that matter. Whatever name the company chooses should be less of an issue. What does Toyota, Mercedes, etc mean in the first place if not for identity sake?

For God's sake they can call the vehicle "Innoson" alone its still cool. Volkswagen (VW) is someone's name if I recall.

If you are idle at the moment, take the job it will help your resume as you hunt for better opportunity. See this as an Internship opportunity to assemble your experience in a practical corporate environment. It's going to take you higher on the long run. All the best.

Nairaland / General / Why Nigeria Remained At Ungrateful Child At 59 - Solution by StudentsNG: 2:03pm On Oct 01, 2019
At 59: Nigeria is still a child, an ungrateful kid.

The way humans T-hink, U-nderstand and S-peak are fundamental to how we tell maturity and childishness apart. Those 3 and others are part of what determine how people (government inclusive) respond to issues, care for or work with others; respond to or take care of situations.

Hint:

The pack is made of different compositions of its many parts. The group is a whole of each individual components. If we ain’t moving, the most of us are in effect motionless. Public interest is realized when more units of the whole body of leaders and public managers put the public first. Whether or not they do so depend on their #TUS approach.

Ever wonder why some Nigerians have outgrown #Nigeria in a space of 59 years and others didn’t? Ever wondered how many smaller countries with by far less resources and endowment as Nigeria, have progressed over the years? It is simple. Those who realized what self independence meant didn’t have to yield to individual selfishness, laziness, hatred, cultural, tribal and religious sentiments hold them back. They went their way getting ahead of themselves, and others. Their approach depending on, of course their ‘TUS’ system.

Since Nigeria have refused to grow, I am going to share a secret with you; to help you become independent of your thought, your circumstances, your government and hopefully be in charge of YOU. This, I called the TUS approach. Thinking differently - of yourself, Understanding - occurrences, relationships, and things differently, and Speaking to people, about issues differently. These will redefine your maturity and help you see value where there’s one. How can you pursue correctly if you don’t think; or overtake what you didn’t notice existed (understand); and recover all?

In your adult life, do not let the little child we all once were, manage your affairs. Choose an area, get busy, grow, progress and become independent. Don’t wait for the government, they are not ‘coming’!

Re-examine your TUS system, that is the real #innerlife. Happy #independence!

1 Corr. 13:11

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Gal 4:1-2
Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, although he be lord of all.

Prov 4:7
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Note: I mean no offence for none-Christians. I have used bible verses for the sake of illustration and to draw inspiration only.

Business / Stanbicibtc Implements New CBN Policy On Cash Deposits & Withdrawals by StudentsNG: 9:10pm On Sep 18, 2019
I receive an email from StanbicIBTC bank this evening announcing the surprising partial implementation of the APC-Government's CBN Policy on cash deposits and cash withdrawals in Nigeria. According to the newsletter, the policy is effective (today) 18 September 2019 only in Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Abia, Anambra, Rivers states and the FCT. Read below:

Dear Valued Customer,

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in its recently released circular on the implementation of the cashless policy has stated that in addition to already existing charges on cash withdrawal, charges will now apply on Naira cash deposits in Lagos, Ogun, Kano, Abia, Anambra, Rivers states and the FCT. This directive from the CBN is effective 18 September 2019. The CBN also confirmed that Nationwide implementation will take effect from 31 March 2020. Please see below the applicable charges; (image attached).

This got me wondering, 2 states in the west (Lagos & Ogun), 2 states in South East (Abia & Anambra), 1 to the South-South (Rivers) and only 1 from the North? FCT is a common ground I suppose. Does anyone know why the North is almost overtly exempt?

When does equity, Federal Character and all those other gimmicks apply??

Crime / FBI Wanted List Of “yahoo Boys” : Facts From Fiction by StudentsNG: 5:52pm On Aug 26, 2019
So you must have seen the FBI list distracting me from the proper entertainment I was receiving from The tales of The New Nigerian yam and old German beating.

Now that I am thinking of it, this would surely be a befitting title for anyone with the time and willingness to stretch the humor.

But that is not the story, our people say “anaghi eri ji na Germany, gi rie ji na Germany, I ga agba nwa nwe nwe oso nwa okuko” .Translation: you don’t eat yam in Germany, if you do , you will run the race of a chicken An old Igbo proverb, but that’s not the story.

Not long after the news of FBI’s capture of Obinwanne Invictus Obi broke out, a list of Nigerians wanted by FBI for fraud surfaced online. Tales upon tales followed it, including the age long profiling of a tribe and clinging to a dry straw Defence. Now let us look as some sensitive narratives causing some stir.

1. They are not Igbos , they are Nigerians.

Let us be serious. If you are Igbo and you feel offended when someone says most of the alleged yahoo boys on the list are Igbo, please don’t or if you must, don’t direct your angst at the observer. In fact, the proper way to put it is, “all of them are Igbos, save for...........”

So if you feel embarrassed, channel your ineffective frustration to the right people and not those who feel embarrassed too but just that the list managed to excuse their tribe. It might seem a divisive rhetoric when other tribes begin to see them as Igbos first before Nigerians.

However, it is the same way we celebrate the avalanche of Igbos who make Nigeria proud as Igbos first. It’s a package brothers, it’s called life, sometimes you are the bird while sometimes you are the bloody statue receiving all the shit!

2. Igbos are the “Kings” of internet Fraud in Nigeria.

The above statement cannot even pass for a beer Palour assumption for it can easily be proven to be outright bullshit. I think my Igbo brothers have carved out a hideous niche for themselves in that business, yet, for now they are still second best to my Yoruba brothers. If we are being honest, through some poverty induced psychological conditioning, internet fraud gradually moved from a taboo category to a category where criticizing a man of God seems a graver offense. So it is not a difficult affair to get the particulars of a flourishing industry in Nigeria, almost everyone can relate.

If you are above 40, stay out of this argument unless you have research figures to show or you are a yahoo man yourself. It is not a secret that “updates” come from the west, Lagos in particular but other states are way ahead in this inglorious business of the internet. Aside Yoruba Land, you would count Edo/Benin and Warri before you can any core Igbo State can get any mention. Imo and Enugu to be precise.

Your inner mind : The list is over 95 percent Igbo names so what in God’s name is this guy blabbing about?

Well, you see that list, it is not a full list of Nigerian internet fraudsters on FBI list or will be. That list is most definitely from one cartel. If a cartel led by an Adekunle Adeyemi is bursted , the names that will emanate form any investigation will probably look like Bayo, Jide, Ade etc. If a Cartel man with name Abdul is busted for a crime, most names who will pop up as confederates will look like Musa, Yusuf, Bello etc. So when a certain Ebuka is busted and he sings, his song will look like Emeka, Chinedu , Udoka etc. You get the drift?

That is why the list of Nigerians on death row in a certain Asian country is filled with humans of a certain tribe in Nigeria. You reading this , if you happen to commit a felony of your own, your allies are most likely going to be 98 percent your tribesmen.

3. Invictus Obi Snitched

Did he? It is a given that FBI are in the habit of cutting offenders a deal to reduce sentence. Give names and do little time . Which of course seemed no coincidence that the list popped up now. But that list didn’t come from Invictus Obi. FBI have quietly been on his case since 2016 and just finally had enough evidence to nail him. So if he mentioned names, FBI would in their usual manner trail the guys, get dirt and nab as many as possible before leaking. Catch more, cut some more deals , let them sing more names.

Who are those on that list?

This very list you are seeing now seems a distraction from an underground investigation of Invictus’s cartel. This list, if facts are anything to consider is a consequence of previous investigations of another group. They did their job, nabbed those in US, published the list to place those outside US on arrest by local authorities.

Do you want to hear something funny?

90 percent of those on that list are from one state. Scratch that, same city , Owerri! So if you are still thinking it’s from Invictus , you don’t know whaizgoingon. When they are done with Invictus, this table will be broken beyond repair. Your brothers, kids, boyfriends, fiancés , husbands are on it sadly.

This list is an Owerri Cartel.

A. It’s not Invictus.
B. Invictus is coming, winter is coming.
C. It’s not an Igbo thing, this is a cartel stuff . You tribe’s Cartel is safe for now, so you are free to gloat while we hide our face in shame. Winter is coming

4. Invictus should have kept a low profile.

Nonsense! Invictus was not investigated because he was on Forbes, a lot of fraudulent people without proof are there. An FBI investigation started in 2016 led to him, whether he was as quiet and humble like a dove and it leads to him, they will still pick him. His wealth and show off didn’t lead FBI to the case, the case led FBI to his wealth.

This shit has gotten very long and unattractive I am not done. We shall talk about deeper stuffs when I return. This barely scratched the surface, I will be back, we die here!

Politics / Ekweremadu's Return: Is Politics The Only Vibrant Sector In Enugu State? by StudentsNG: 2:49pm On Aug 24, 2019
"The only vibrant sector in Enugu state is the political sector"...

Those were the words of my uncle Ben Ezeabia some years ago.

During a round table chat, Ben had asked us to do a checklist of all tertiary institutions in Enugu state. I recall, we recorded more than ten and less than fifteen schools located in Enugu.

Again, he asked us to estimate the number of graduates per year, a little check and small arithmetic, the result was over 15,000 graduates per year.

Then, he asked us to do a checklist of all medium-large scale functional productive firm/s or plants in Enugu state including government companies, we could not mention up to five.

Where would the yearly 15,000 youths work? At this, silence swallowed the room.

In one of my notes, I mentioned that there are no jobs in Enugu state. Thus, there is massive youth flight in the state and I need not emphasize the negative impacts.

In plain language, if you are not working in a government ministry in Enugu, then you are strutting the four cardinal points on your party rag, tuning chants, and drumming for a politician.

In an era of tales of wanton incursion, rape and serial kidnap by criminal elements in Enugu state, Sen. Ike is prioritising image making, merry making and triumphant entry.

Youths in their thousands on a working day flooded the Airport which is awaiting a shut down to apologize to one of their oppressors for a beating they did not commit.

Is this love? I don't know. Is this joblessness? Yes. This is not what we learnt from Peter Obi. This is not what we learnt from Sullivan Chime. If you don't find these photos disturbing, let it sink, I found them worrisome.

Sen. Ike and his beggarly armies are offering us a fresh perspective to the definition of numb. But, what is shame to a hungry man?

Education / Choose One: SNIPER Or A Golden Sausage? End Suicide On Campus! by StudentsNG: 12:46pm On Jun 22, 2019
Given A & B, which would you choose?

Some hints
—————
- You’d need B if your life is full of crap, and rightly so B would help you ward off insects that bug the hell outta you.

- You’d need A if life is sweet, for God’s sake who would refuse a ‘golden’ sausage? Me neither. I Dey mad?!

According to the news, another student of University of Nigeria Nsukka just committed suicide and it got me wondering. When has killing one’s self become a trendy choice? Not again!

The problem with Nigeria is Nigerians. Starting from the mad man on the street to the wisest man on the pulpit. We are only after ourselves. We only cry when it hits us personally, we hate ourselves and discourage our young and cover the rest of dirty shit in our lives with pride. #Sniper is not the problem!

We have erudite professors of claimed ‘repute’ and titles littered in our poorly funded institutions many of whom have conducted researches in ‘heaven knows what’ yet non could conduct a simple study within campuses to find why some promising young men are opting for B where A should be everyone’s dream? Leaders, civil society groups, churches on campus, student bodies, and ... ? The list goes on. I won’t dare mention NGOs, those are for political rallies only!

The leading class instead of instructing for an inquiry is banning a product that is otherwise useful for cleaning ants infested homes? Listen y’all carefully people: no one drinks sniper by accident. It is neither Fanta nor does it taste like coke. It is not Dr Iguedo either!

Someone should tell the VC at UNN to go fucking conduct a study on his students. Someone somewhere inside an office is frustrating the hell outta these kids pushing them to kill themselves. Sniper is just a means to an end!

Nigeria banned importation of rice, cars, etc. But we still have more than enough of those hitting our ports. Senseless is he who thinks banning a product is the only visible solution to solve a societal and behavioural problem!

For God’s sake I have a masters degree in Public Policy. Banning doesn’t work and have never worked anywhere let alone in a country with porous borders!
