The truth is most Southern African countries and those who got their independence late are more developed than West African countries but that is another topic for another day.

You really need to travel. Zimbabwe used to be one of the best if not the best country in Africa back in the day(Rhodesia). They also have the best literacy rate in Africa.

Retail businesses are mostly meant for locals because no special capacity which can't be found in the country is needed for those. Most countries in the world have such laws.
