Faithful007: I read your posts and sincerely don't see a reason why you should be apologizing to anyone. I said it sometime earlier that most folks here are too polarized and respond harshly to differing opinions. They can boldly make their own sides known and always feel they are the good guys while others are pessimistic or negative. The same trait can be seen in Nigerian leaders. Their misguided optimism and detachment from the common Nigerian, leads them into further administrative errors. If you make a contribution and someone who responds cannot objectively disagree, you shouldn't be guilt tripped into believing you made a mistake. The person who can't argue properly should go f*ck himself. Look at my past criticisms of South Africa and note the way they respond here. Then compare it with Nigerians. You'll see how you were not wrong to point out some level of immaturity.
Now coming to what you said about Nigeria, it is both sided. Actually Nigeria was once "great". In a similar fashion to Saudi Arabia, she controlled a huge part of the global oil market and bankrolled peacekeeping efforts in Africa as a "big brother". She spent heavily and attracted international interest. She was way less populated, so less suffering and less competition. Tribalism was low before the civil war, skyrocketed shortly before the war and slowly died down again after the war. Corruption was astronomically high in those "great" days. Human rights were piss poor.
In the current Nigeria, governance has improved, the government is less brutal and way more transparent. Human rights and press freedom have improved to a level. However, Nigeria is now caught up in some serious socio-economic issues that currently threaten to severely weaken or even collapse the government. These issues are more complex and deep-rooted than even the previous issues that led to the first war. I don't think a sudden violent disintegration is looming, however, there would likely be prolonged insurgencies on different fronts. Think of what is happening around West and Central Africa. Something similar to Nigeria has started cropping up in Ghana as well. Generally it is a sub-Saharan issue. Nothing is peculiar to Nigeria except the golden opportunity she had to build a country in the last century with vast amounts of oil revenue.
Issues facing Nigeria can be attributed to the failure of the "great" Nigeria to invest in the future Nigeria, which is the current Nigeria. Fantastic take |

Stormtrooper11: Okay, I'm not replying anymore. Yall won, let's all act like there is no issues because Americans act like they ain't have issues too. I know how much I love the Federal Republic of Nigeria and dedicated my time for it since I was born even though I'm not even an old guy or something but if criticising the deployment of troops to Guinea and handling of the situation in Nigeria is offensive to yall? Then so be it. I'm not loyal to the Nigerian government, I'm not the one that will act like nothing happens and sweep everything under the carpet in the act of "marketing" Nigeria because my loyalty is to the Nigerian people and its constitution.
Since here is a military thread which we've been on since 2013, I saw it fit to criticize the lax attitude of the federal government and its attitude to the Nigerian economy. Every country have their problems for sure, but I won't watch and see Nigeria to be like "other countries". We're Nigeria the supposed giant of Africa but we've been shiit lately and not a good "big brother", I won't keep grinning at shinny technicals, glorified crop dusters and 1985 vintage jets. I'll talk, commend our troops and criticize their failures, but it doesn't change the fact that I fully support the Armed forces because after all I'm a patriot not a blind bandwagon. But bru, why you come de vex like this? |

Friction In Cross River APC Over Consensus On Running Mate To Prince OtuThe ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State is embroiled in disagreement over who should be the running mate to the governorship candidate, Prince Bassey Otu who is from the Southern District of the State. Before now, the Majority Leader in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Odey, representing the Ogoja State Constituency in the northern part of the State, was seen as the best choice for the party’s Deputy Governor. But critical stakeholders of the party in the State, including a former governorship candidate, have disagreed, calling for consensus as to who becomes the authentic deputy governorship candidate for the 2023 election. They have expressed worry that the governorship candidate himself has not been given the freedom to choose who he wants as running mate in keeping with the country’s constitution in Section 187. In a letter dated 26 July 2022 to the State Governor, they said, “We are constrained to note that the constitutional provision in the case of our party the APC in Cross River State has not been followed. “Our Governorship candidate; Senator Bassey Otu, has not been given the constitutional right bestowed on him to nominate another candidate.” The stakeholders mentioned that the constitution does not permit the sitting Governor to appoint or foist a candidate on the governorship candidate as is the case in Cross River State APC. They stressed that the non-involvement of critical party stakeholders in the deputy governorship candidate selection process has been not only curious but very unacceptable to a majority of the stakeholders. “This alienation of the critical stakeholders, if not urgently addressed, could adversely affect their utmost commitment and zeal to contribute assiduously to efforts aimed at ensuring a total and resounding victory for the party at all levels in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.” They informed the Governor that the matter is disturbing. They called for the review of the selection or nomination of Odey whose emergence was allegedly done without consultations with critical stakeholders of the party. “The process should be subjected to wider consultations for the purpose of arriving at a consensus before the expiration of the window for substitution of candidates as set out by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.” They stressed that “whoever will emerge as the consensus deputy governorship candidate should be one with electoral value, competence, and general acceptability to effectively complement our governorship candidate in our march to making history by returning to the Peregrino House in 2023.” Source : https://crossriverwatch.com/2022/08/friction-in-cross-river-apc-over-consensus-on-running-mate-to-prince-otu/ |

Calabar Carnival rolls off after two years lull as 7 bands compete in the 2022 fiestaThe Cross River State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Eric Anderson, has disclosed that second bands would be competing in the 2022 Calabar Carnival fiesta after two years of lull. In a media briefing held in Calabar on Tuesday to herald the annual festival, Anderson said as usual the event would be loaded with activities to entertain the people and tourists. He said the Calabar Carnival could not hold in 2020 and 2021 due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Omicron variant of COVID-19, adding that it was important to save humanity from these creeping scorch. He said: “We have learned lessons on the contributions and vacuum the Carnival Calabar and festival have on the state tourism and local economy. Thus, the determination to host the 2022 fiesta. We have expanded the brand with innovations for increased participation and patronage while ensuring the socio-economic benefits trickle down. “In expanding the brand and development, the competing Carnival bands have been increased to seven, with the constituting of two new bands being Calasvegas and Diamond Carnival bands to add to Seagull, Bayside. Passion 4, Freedom, and Masta Blasta Bands. “As we gear up for the 2022 experience, we are starting with full engagement of the public and private sector with participatory innovation. We, therefore, call for entries for a suggestible carnival theme for 2022 and the person with the selected theme will be carting home a cash reward of N1m. Entries open on August 2 and close ten days from today,” The Commissioner acknowledged the contributions of the creative industry and called on the sponsors to embrace the event, adding that the first Carnival Dry Run would kick off in October, the second one in November and the third one in December with the final Calabar Carnival on December 28. He listed other activities slated for the fiesta to include performances by local artists, stage plays, essay competition, movie awards night, and a children's party. Others are Atom Obong and Ejagam festivals, gospel experience with Ekwueme band, Calabar food festival, Cultural carnival, African Beauty pageant parade, African Nigth festival, Bickers parade, Calapiano night featuring brass and Jass bands, and Marian Street party. In his welcome address, the Chairman of Carnival Commission, Mr. Gab Ona, said: “Africa is the new frontier for tourism and entertainment. So we have to tap into it as we are still at the destination point. “Those coming to savor our Carnival Calabar would not regret it as it remains the biggest street party in Africa. “We have had it for 16 years and it has become a research point for scholars across Africa and Europe. Until we celebrate ourselves nobody would celebrate us and that is what Calabar Carnival has done. “Our thematic and choreographic contents have remained our unique selling points. It is our oil well and we shall explore it to the fullest.” On her part, the Commissioner for local government Affairs, Dr. Stella Odey, said the ministry would collaborate with the Carnival Commission to promote the local government cultures and cuisines. Culture › Re: Some Igbo Words That Are Same Meaning With Hebrew by Subsaharan: 6:24pm On Jul 17, 2022 |
bigfrancis21: Pazienza is well-versed in history. I get what he was trying to say. Ancient Hebrews were not light-skinned as you have them today. They were black people, being related to/brothers to the ancient Egyptians who were also dark-skinned. One clue to this is when Herod sought to kill all little and newly-born hebrew males and Joseph and his wife were asked to go to Egypt and hide. Now as of the time of Herod, the Egyptians were known to still be black. Why would Joseph and his entire family be asked to go hide in a predominantly black country if they weren't black themselves? How does that make sense if they were white as the modern day jews? Would a white man escaping being caught hide in a black country where his skin color makes him stand out? No. Instead, a white man runs to a predominantly white country to hide. Same for a black man who would escape to a black country where he blends in easily. A white man doesn't hide in a country where it is full of blacks where he stands out and will be obviously detected easily. Joseph wasn't asked to run to nearby Jordan, nor modern-day Iraq nor Iran etc but to far-away Egypt in Africa. Egypt, being mostly black as of the time of herod, and Joseph escaping to the country to hide for many years and remain undetected all those years is an indication that the ancient Egyptians and Hebrews looked the same skinwise/racially. That should tell you something. Another example is when Joseph, the Hebrew, was raised in Egypt and grew up to be a governor in Egypt and the Egyptians could not tell he was Hebrew/Non-Egyptian, the reason most likely being that both groups must have been the same racially for Joseph to grow up in the house of Pharoah as an Egyptian while still being Hebrew ancestrally. Nigerian Christians need to begin to reason certain things. I get you, and him. you're both on the right track, only with different perspectives. Hebrews were and are black, if anything Africans are more rad |

VulgarVulvas: Every single Pentagon and NATO war games against Russia be it in open field display or computer models have always had Russia winning any direct conflict.
America sucks ass at war because American officers are by and large the most stupid mongrels to ever attempt the noble arts of warfare.
The US military tactic still remains the same from WW2 - zero planning and deliberate orchestrated chaos.
A German officer in WW2 even complained about this bizarre pointlessness of American strategy that is not only very dangerous to their own men but also resource drain.
In response an American General was quoted as saying: "If we don't know what we are doing, then how the hell is the enemy going to figure us out".
At the end , the Germans lost not because they were outsmarted by the Americans but because they just got outgunned by both Russia and US who had unlimited stream of supplies and men to throw into the meat grinder called the Battle for Europe.
American military strategy has not changed and will never change from that point on.
But such brazen madness will not work with a Nuclear armed Russia that has all the resources and energy to equip, replenish and support their armed forces in a major war.
How the hell will Europe even fight Russia when they don't even have the resources like oil and gas? Will their tanks run on solar panels?
As for America, their industries are all rusting away and depend on Chinkwares from the tiniest screw to state of the art chips to maintain and operate their MIC inflated and overrated F35 stealth jets. you are welcome to join our telegram group Sir. https:///battlefieldgroup01 |
