OmoBendel24:Just peeping and learning new stuff on here |
folamee:Frequent hiccups is common and normal in babies and contrary to what you think, it doesn't hurt your baby at all. But if you feel uncomfortable seeing her hiccup so much, you can offer her breast to suck....It helps |
olamitie:Yes. |
MamaOO:Tchai!! Those guys have the world's softest pilows ![]() |
olamitie:No warmer dear. Milk has to be stored at either room temperature or cooled. You can get an insulated cooler bag and ice pack to store the milk for creche. So you pump and put in the fridge and when he is going to school you put the ice pack and the milk in the bag. It can keep the milk good for 24hrs. Jumia has it for about 1500 |
feddy27:Mine is somewhat different but it was the only sane route I could go. I did my exclusive for 6months but the circumstances for returning to work after my maternity leave ended wasn't favourable for both me and my baby. So I discussed with my HR department and I was informed I could request for a leave of absence (without pay) and I opted for that option. I took unpaid leave and sorted out all the issues pending -Change of nanny, health issues for me etc and by the time I was ready for work I had started my baby on solids. I am sane , and my baby is healthy. |
Weldone mamaOO. I recognize the background of pix 2. Is it RI? Kizzez to Mr cutie That your supply was just awesome mehn! |
Yesitsme:It depends on your stress level.. For example, the last one week I was stressed about not making enough milk, so I was thinking about it all day cos I was home from work and when it gets to pumping time I'd get just 4oz total from both breasts after 1hr. Yesterday I was at work all day and did not think about milk until I started feeling pains cos my breast was full. Got home and pumped 5oz from each breast in less than 30mins. .....So in essence, the pumping would signal your brain and breast to produce milk in as early as 2 days but when you are stressed about it might take longer. For the job part, I pump and keep in the fridge and my nanny feeds him. Breastmilk can last 6days in the fridge (stored at the back of the fridge where it is coldest) and in the deep freezer for 6months |
voucher:You can wear a postpartum belt when you feel you have healed so it doesn't make your stitch reopen. However, my doctor gave me go ahead to wear mine the next day after delivery cos I did not have any issue and no chance of my stitch coming open. Although my stomach isn't flat yet, but it's not too big. |
Yesitsme:Just keep pumping, keep taking lots of fluids and don'tstress yourself over it cos that affects supply too and you would be fine. |
Fattamyfattamy:Also in addition, check your blood levels. Hope you are still taking your ferrous tabs. |
Congratulations dharyor1234. God bless your LO. |
peggygee:Thanks dear, he's great! |
Hmmm! Page 3002 This thread can run Sha!Hailing to all mamas o! New preggo, pushing, waddling and vigilante mamas. September 2016 set, any returnees yet? |
peggygee:Oh wow peggygee, congratulations! Affliction shall not rise a second time. On the Milo ish, I don't know o. I'd just advise you eat healthy, cut out empty calories, take lots of fruits and vegetables and if Milo and milk is your fav drink then by no means indulge in it. I don't think it affects the weight of the baby (other Sabi mamas go shook mouth). |
Hunniesuzie do you give your LO water? |
MamaOO:We can only try our best my dear. I leave for work at 5:50am and sometimes I'm not back till 7pm.... I thank God for my Godsent nanny, she makes things easier for me. |
Noted alphahandmaiden. I guess the only downside to the bottled meal is the cost then. Cos one small bottle of Gerber is 500 naira... Sweet potatoes of 500 would last a week. ![]() I guess that would be an ideal option for when traveling...Cos iv been thinking of how difficult it would be to carry homemade meals on long haul flights. |
Akorkor thanks o, your breast pain might be mastitis. Massaging with warm towel, offering that breast first and pumping all the milk out would help ease it. You are probably not emptying the breast out when you feed |
wholesomegrace:Redemption camp too dey naija na ![]() There are some coded places in naija with constant power supply Im actually currently at work and staying in company accommodation so light na 24/7. But even my house get constant power with a combo of NEPA/Inverter/generatorGood suggestion for storage without proper power supply. I'm not quite aware of fruits that shouldn't be frozen, any examples of them? It's definitely better to prepare each food fresh before feeding but not really practical for working moms. And I would not want my nanny spending too much time in the kitchen cooking my son a meal or even carrying him into the kitchen while cooking for fear of burns etc. But frozen is still better than the shop bought foods in bottles packed with preservatives. |
jazzyjazz:I'm not sure o. If it's bothering you you might want to see his doctor to allay your fears. My son either pulls his hair or rubs his eyes when he's sleepy but he doesn't cry too much. |
jesufifunmi:I don't know about warranty period. Just call them and see |
jesufifunmi:The power pack got burnt, I called thier customer care from Naija and they sent a brand new pump to the US address I provided. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get through to my friend whose address I used so the pump is still stuck in the US. They would most likely replace the whole pump. |
We are doing great dear, thanks. |
MamaOO:Justwise go to page 205 and do the needful.........Just in case you did not see it. |
Hotmomma how are you doing dear? I'd try and answer as much as I can ![]() I prep my foods for the week and store in the freezer. (Pix attached) If you have good power supply you can do same..Then just put the frozen foods in a plate and cover it to take to creche..It should have melted and ready for consumption by the time he needs to eat it. They can just mix in the milk and feed. I started feeding my LO from 6months. Initially I was making it the way Feddy described (as a porridge) but I switched to making it into swallow and feeding him with soup. The Gerber oatmeal is a cereal that you just mix with milk. Don't limit him to just cereals, give him more of homemade nutritious foods. No don't start with the combos. You need to gradually introduce each food to him to watch for allergy. E.g you give pureed potatoes mixed milk then you repeat again cos he might not accept the foods outrightly as he is only used to breastmilk. Then when he accepts and there's no allergic reaction, you add carrots or egg yolk. Then eventually increase the combo. Hope you are already putting soup in his mouth with your fingers while you eat, it helps prepare thier taste buds I think. He was already struggling with me for my foods cos I make sure I carried him while eating swallow, I guess that's why it's his favorite meal. ![]() A favorite and easy first meal is Amala and okro soup/ewedu with plenty crayfish. Cos he only knows how to suck now so swallowing Amala and a slimy soup might be easier than cereal. For the milk, as long as he doesn't react to it I guess it's fine. And Feddy says it's good.
|
olamitie:I'd say go for it. |
iomoge2:Soft things like avocado, banana, egg yolk you can mash using a fork. Although there's a plate/masher set I bought that I use. Pix attached Pureed foods I use a dedicated hand blender but I guess you can use your regular house blender as long as it's washed and free from pepper or buy a new one strictly for her foods. I don't use dates yet so I'm not quite sure.

olamitie:Are there any reviews on the site you saw it on? |

I got a chinco pump too (kinyo) and it's been serving me fine since my Medela packed up. But mine sef was quite expensive (33k or so), this is too cheap so it looks too good to be true. That's just my thoughts sha, you might be lucky |

Omo mehn, your radar sharp die. Lol
.,.Will try again after an hour. Tanks

Not all of them are laced with preservatives. I give my son Earth's Best Cereal and bottled purees and they're organic and with no genetically engineered ingredients. I try to give him home-made food (he eats pretty much all the Nigerian food we eat in the house) while I am home, but as I leave home by 6:30am and don't get back until 6pm, my hands are tied..wetin man go do?
