Vaughanlanrewaj: That result can't get you an admission into UNILAG so it's good you chose UI.
I am not sure UI will take that result for some of their top courses like Medicine & Pharmacy .
Admission is historically more competitive in UNILAG so UNILAG literally push those candidates with combined results or mediocre O'level results to other schools including UI and I think it makes sense to UNILAG considering the huge interest by most candidates to come to UNILAG .
University of Lagos is the only institution with the highest bar for undergraduates admission and it has been so for decades.
The concern expressed by the OP can never be on the list of concerns by a UNILAG student because he would have had only one sitting with minimum of 6 O'level credits . My advice to anyone yet to take WAEC is to face their studies, quit nairaland for now and get a single sitting with minimum of 6 O'level credits in the subjects required for your admission so it won't later give you serious concern.
Getting a single sitting result legitimately takes hardwork, discipline and focus. Practice all the past questions and go extra mile to know how to answer questions with great speed and accuracy. it is achievable especially if you cut away all the distraction like time wasted on Nairaland when you have exams.Quit Nairaland for now.visit www.freestuffsng.com for latest freestuffs in Nigeria. UNILAG doesn't have a course in Agricultural Engr, hence I never applied to UNILAG due to lack of Agriculture discipline as well as the distraction in Lagos and its proximity to my home. UI was my first choice, with IFE and UNN listed as my second and 3rd Choice. The OP didn't state the name of his university degree and academic discipline hence the suggestion that he must have a single sitting result isn't a listed requirement. Getting a single sitting result legitimately requires a good school and dedicated teachers as well as hard work by the student. BTW, I don't rate Nigeria public university systems they all have very low academic standards, lack research capability and constantly shutdown drupting the flow of academic training to their students. Advicing someone to quit Nairaland and to visit your website doesn't seem like the best advice for someone that has an online addiction. |

Vaughanlanrewaj: It actually matters for very competitive positions. Why not try do another WAEC again. In some organisations, it says a lot on why you ended up in your current university and forms a basis to reject you. Top Universities don't take such results . In fact, they will never take such results. A school like UNILAG takes only one sitting with 6 credit passes and Further Maths is compulsory for Engineering, Maths & Computer Science .
Employers know these things so know when they hire a 2.1 Or First Class from UNILAG, they know such person must have a track record right from high school. I had two O' Level sittings 7 WAEC and my Maths and Physic was with my GEC and was admitted to study Agriculture Engr at UI. |

Auxtan: Ever since I entered the university and now in my 400L currently doing my 6 months I.T in preparation for my final year (500L) I haven't gone through my qualifications intently until this morning.
Here is a problem I discovered, I made my way to the university with a 2 sittings 2014 O'level certificates in WAEC and NECO because I made a D7 in English in WAEC which is a compulsory credit subject required for admission I had to use my NECO result where I made C5 in English to back it up for a 2 sittings result though I recall they ended up using only my NECO for the O'level certificate screening that time.
Now I am concerned if this might be a problem when I graduate and decide applying for a top job. My CGPA currently is quite impressive but right now I am afraid my O'level might not be good enough due to the D7 I made in English in WAEC.
Please I need good words of advice from the experienced ones amongst us here. Thank you You should not put your O'Level on your CV if you have a degree ....period and if for whatever reason you have to include your O'Level on your application form or CV then you list your credits from WEAC and NECO as one list of results, just don't include the date. CV is designed to project your best qualities and not your deficiencies |

LikeAking: The manufacturing enviroment is not that bad, reason Dangote and co wan kill demselves on top manufacturing in Nigeria.
The reason why Nigeria cant produce is becos majority of the people have been programmed to see nothing good in the country.
Secondly we have not developed a manufacturing culture becos we have lots of alternatives and we are also naturally timid about technological adventure.
Thirdly we dont understand how manuacturing works.
Its very easy and simple to manufacture anything in Nigeria.
One thing majority of us dont know is, "Nigerian govt na maga" - Ask Dangote and co.
Naija govt will help you, but you have to start some thing first. E no go easy oh.
But many men are cashing out steady from govt.
Even Nollywood people once cashed out big.
Make we think diff.
BUA chairman said Nigeria has one of the lowest manufacturing cost of cement.
Naija get very, very huge potentials. Nigerians have a manufacturing and productive culture, they are usually called artisan, welders, electrician, roadside mechanic, masonries, village farmers etc, what is lacking is access to capital, electricity, management and logistics. This is where the government has failed but the Nigerian in the diaspora can play an important role. |

Dat Boy is a Fraud!! A ridiculous waste of 72million pounds!! Even Iheanacho n Samuel Chukwueze re way Better dan him!!
Again, dat 12 goals, is it in EPL?? Cos Zaha's 10 re EPL goals.. In 2019 Zaha was on the market for £80 million pounds for a winger that rarely scores goals or has limited assists. Pepe is a far better player than Zaha, Pepe unfortunately is in a team led by a novice manager called Arteta. It's very hard to deceive me because unlike you I base my analysis on facts, it Bielsa that headhunted Pepe to join Lille, in Pepe first season at Lille he scored 13 goals and in his second season, he scored 22 goals. When a coach of the calibre of Bielsa spend 1 year studying a player you know he rarely makes a mistake, the mistake is Pepe joining a club like Arsenal for a fraudulently inflated fee of £72 million. Pepe at best is a £30-40 million player but the rot and corruption is so deep, imagine hiring a coach that has zero experience. Arteta managed to turn Willian from a winger that scores 10 goals a season with 10 assists into a bit-part player, the same can be said about Aubu. Read Tuchel's comments about Auba's weakness with Timekeeping and how BVB managed it ... https://www.espn.com/soccer/chelsea-eng ... lls-tuchel Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has said he used to lie to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang about when meetings were held at Borussia Dortmund to help with his timekeeping, and questioned how the Arsenal striker kept his driving licence during their time together in Germany.
Tuchel joined Dortmund in 2015 where he managed Aubameyang for two years and together they won the DFB-Pokal in 2017 with the forward also topping the Bundesliga goal-scoring charts.
Aubameyang has largely continued that prolific form since moving to the Gunners in January 2018, although his form has dipped during the current campaign, which has been complicated by off-field problems including being dropped for March's north London derby win over Tottenham Hotspur having reported late to the training ground before the match.
Ahead of their reunion on Wednesday when Arsenal visit Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, Tuchel was full of praise for Aubameyang but suggested this was far from the first time the 31-year-old had issues with punctuality.
"That's not his strength, to be absolutely on time," Tuchel said. "He was pretty much the only one so when we wanted him to be on time, we just told him the meeting was 10.45 a.m. [when] the meeting was 11:00 a.m.. Then we had a good chance he is there with everybody else!
"And you could hear him, you could hear the car from far. In the last kilometre, you could always hear [the car's engine], we could prepare everything and start the video because he will soon arrive!
"I don't know and I still don't know how he managed to keep his driving licence throughout the two years in his pocket because from the sound of the car I don't know if he was always on the speed limit and he was always on the last minute!
"That's him. It is hard to be really mad at the guy because he comes with a big smile, he opens his heart, he gives his excuse to everybody and OK, we could accept to have one or two guys like this in a team.
"It is not the biggest problem. At the same time, don't forget he was a top, top professional. I don't think he missed any training session, he never sneaked off the training pitch one minute too early. The opposite. When he was dressed, he was ready. It was nice to have him."
Tuchel attitude is markedly different to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's reaction to Aubameyang's poor timekeeping, dropping him from Arsenal's starting line-up for what was determined a "breach of pre-match protocols."
Aubameyang's relationship with Arteta has appeared strained during a difficult season in which his mother fell ill and he has battled malaria but by contrast, Tuchel claims he still feels a strong bond with the Gabon international. |

Can't the government do something of that nature to curb environmental issues like these? The 1980s now seem like the golden years of Nigeria politics, the UPN building low-cost housing projects across the SW and the NPN government developing Abuja and building their own low-cost housing projects. At that time there was corruption, but all three political parties debated valuable political policies. Unlike the APC/PDP today. What major policies have the opposition PDP debated as to their new strategies to fix the housing shortage across the country, the steel industry is non-existent and the cement industry has been cornered by monopolists like BUA group and Dangote, hence how can Nigerians build a sustainable housing programme for the poorest. Housing construction is the easiest solution to reducing unemployment and creating shelters if the materials are cheap and sustainable It was this same Buhari government that ended the 2nd Republic that led to IBB, Abacha and finally the 1999 constitution that has been a complete disaster.
