bankyh1905: It's IRCC's opinion that you must provide a letter (among others) which lists "outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans". Now, either you took loans or not, the bank needs to make that clear. See here for more details.
PS: GTBank has been known not to give such a letter (as was my experience). That's still okay as its reference letter (with its wordings) sufficed. GTB would not give you a letter of non indebtedness if you didn't obtain a loan or have a salary account with them, because the letter basically says you are not owing them. Why would they issue the letter if you did not have a prior loan or credit card that has been paid up? The IRCC clause would apply to those having loans especially salary account holders and credit card users. |

ayandee: it's part of cic requirements, I was told Really? A letter of non-indebtedness is a letter issued to a customer that has paid off all the debts previously owed to a bank. The letter tells whoever it may concern that the customer has done well to clear all the debts previously recorded that he/she was owing. In my experience, it is not necessary except you took a loan or had a credit card you had paid up. We didn't provide such in our application. We only provided six months bank reference letters and TB certificates for all our investments. You can request sha. The process is this, The bank confirms if you're owing from credit bureau and also bank wide before the letter is issued. It needs to be approved and signed by key officers so timeline for different banks might differ. Some banks have to send to their head office, hence the delay |

ultrazone: @all, please I'd be glad if anyone can provide suggestions on this bank issue. Thanks. Which bank are you using currently? No bank should deny you statement of account because they generate revenue from the issuance. For letter of non indebtedness, why do you need it. Is it a requirement for PR journey? I'm here wondering why a bank would issue you letter of non indebtedness if you didn't obtain any loan from them, neither is your salary account domiciled with them. |

ayandee: Please avoid UBA like a plague on this express entry journey. They've been tossing me around for the past 2days from branch to branch over my request for letter of non-indebtedness. My patience wore off and I had to shout. Dont put your POF in UBA. Be warned! Why do you need a letter of non indebtedness? Did you take a loan from them and have paid up? IMO, a reference letter detailing your account activities and POF should suffice for this journey. |

passionate2019: Thanks guys, So I don't have to wait for the traditional wedding_White wedding. Uploading the marriage certificate from Registry is good to go.
For POF, I already have a dollars saving account that has more than enough for tow person. But was thinking if that could be issue. As I only have three deposit from when I had the account open last year in November. Marriage certificate from the registry is acceptable. Can you explain the source of funds? If yes, attach an LOE. |

passionate2019: Families!! Not I in a dilemma. I just had my registry today and have the tradition wedding set in 3months time.
For those that know my story, my case was close , but God helping it was open again. I just spoke with a friend now saying if I add my spouse that my case file will definitely go to Accra. And that is no body dream, I don't wait forever.
Should I still go ahead to add my spouse to the application using web-form, and if yes. what should I not do or what should I do.
I am pretty sure, I might refer to the first page, but I just wanted to get a more recent similar case of my situation. I think you should add your spouse. Don't be scared of the AVO wait. We are meant to understand that they work better during the first few months in the year, dishing out PPRs. Me sef dey wait for the PPR at about 10 months post AOR. It will end in praise |

NEROSKY: Really happy for your testimonies, but you guys should give us an estimate on how much is on your account, must it be above the required amount or little or anything that can help others like us prepare our DOC/POF when is time, because we all know finance is very much pivotal part of this whole process.. Please. Someone posted some pages back a grid showing the amount required depending on single applicants or families. This is also available on the IRCC website. Amount is in CAD, just convert to naira using the day's rate. Note that this does not include IELTS, credentials evaluation, medicals, PCC, RPRF, PR and biometrics fees |

stevesegkay: Hello SunshineD1
Below update is not good at all. Especially the part in bold print since it affect most immigrants travelling from Nigeria. I have checked Pearson Airport's website but saw no mention of this. Please can you share the source of this info and how one can track if there is any update/changes.
100% foods will be banned from March 1st onwards for all flights.( carry on or in luggage by bags as well.)
Thank you. I got it from one of the intending immigrants who shared his concern about the food aspect so I told him I'll post here. If there is any truth in it, someone will corroborate the story. We'll wait and see if the Canadian immigration site will be updated with the information. If not, then people that travel then will update us on their experiences. |

bekayy: I am with you o. Stuck btw Ethiopian and Egypt. The diff is about N100,000, that's enough to help me prepare. I have heard abt bad reviews for Egypt. I really don't know. A day's journey shouldn't be spent in an eventful airline. I have used Ethiopian before and loved it, like any intl airline but last March dey make me fear. I used Egypt air to US in 2017 and I had a good experience. The lay overs on both legs of the journey was spent in a 5 star hotel with a buffet. I even got a day's visa to tour the city and the pyramids (I paid for that ) The last March experience you talked about, Egypt air had experienced it also in the past. No fear, just pray for protection and all will be well. |

It's only worth it for those that don't have doubts. If you know you're having doubts don't bother at all. The stress here is too much, life is hard etc. Even the air we're breathing is taxed. Please just stay in naija and be managing the small small stress there, it's nothing compared to canada stress. Savage |

alphaNomega: This is one reason gay marriages should be illegal in Nigeria, since they are not ready to legalise polygamy.
The only logical reason for them permitting same sex marriage is Population control. Gay families are more likely to have fewer to zero offspring than the normal marriages. Gay marriages were never legal in Nigeria to begin with. |

I refer to the case of a landed immigrant that had issues with the law because of the USD transferred into his account. I read it here on NL. Aboki can always pay cash into your domiciliary account if you are not sure of the origin of the fcy. |
