Suspected Fulani herdsmen abduct Catholic priest, demands N10 million ransom Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Saturday, March 2, abducted one Rev Fr Aniako Celestine in charge of St Joseph Catholic Church, Ukana, Udi local government area of Enugu state. Daily Post reports that Ebere Amaraizu, the Enugu state police public relations officer who confirmed the abduction added that the command was on their trail.

Source said the cleric was kidnapped on his way from his home town in Ezeagu adding that the herdsmen have demanded a ransom of N10 million. Meanwhile, suspected herdsmen invaded the community in Ogba/Egbema/ Ndoni local government area of Rivers state, killing 12 people on Wednesday, March 30. The attack was first suspected to be the work of cultist but investigation revealed that it was carried out by herdsmen following the disappearance of their cows.
