Svlla: So what happened to the over 4,000 Soviet era tanks Ukraine had before the war or their own T80s or the donated T-72s(over 200) from Slovakia and the rest last year?
So it's a few, slightly over 100 western tanks that will come in batches with the earliest coming in 4months time that will turn the tide of the war?
Some of you are too lazy to read but too quick to talk
Lets not forget it took around 20 Himars to stall the Russian advance last summer. Where are the Russian tanks by the way? Now instead of armored breakthroughs they switched to desperate WW2 human wave tactics. And while having 3000 T80 in storage the Russian Army is now reactivating T62 without thermal imagers. Russia has always maintained a paper tiger army. Not to talk about about their Air Force and Navy.
Some takes on Wagner Group's 'human wave' tactics
1/ The Wagner Group's 'human wave' attacks, which have left the area around Bakhmut and Soledar strewn with the bodies of dead Wagner fighters, have been described in detail by a Russian source. It explains the brutal calculations behind Wagner's seemingly suicidal tactics.
2/ The 'Russian Criminal' website, which is linked to the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel, reports what a source – likely within Wagner – has told it about the mercenary group's approach to using recruited convicts to attack Soledar, sustaining huge casualties along the way.
3/ "The most experienced and well-prepared group of stormtroopers comes first, with excellent equipment. It's comprised of eight men, each with a 'Bumblebee' [possibly meaning an RPO-A Shmel thermobaric rocket launcher, effective against fortified positions].
4/ "Whatever happens, the group must reach the firing line. "Whatever happens" is not a turn of phrase, but a task, the failure to complete which will end in execution [by Wagner], regardless of any [mitigating] factors.
5/ "Once fire contact has been made [with the enemy], the group digs into positions. Digging in is taught as meticulously as combat operations, so by military standards, digging in is almost instantaneous and very effective.
6/ "The area the group has reached is marked (a rag on a tree or something similar). Even if the group is demolished to zero, the next one already realises where the previous one has reached. The main task is to make contact, dig in and transfer positional data to the artillery.
7/ "Artillery can fire from an hour to several hours. And here is the first cause of conflict with the [Russian] army: if there are not enough shells, instead of a successful attack you get hopeless meat from the stormtroopers.
8/ "The first group is followed by the second, also eight men, but with much lighter equipment. Their task is to jump into the positions as soon as the artillery shells finish their work.
9/ "Sometimes there is an order not to wait for the shelling to end – the 'Musicians' are so disciplined that they will go anyway, because they stand a fighting chance of surviving.
10/ "Nowadays there are not enough shells and because of that the first groups hardly survive – the main blow is coming at them and even training does not solve all the problems there.
11/ "Even before, losses in the first group were inevitable, but now the survivability of groups as a whole has fallen to critical values. And to replace them with just anyone increases costs even more, and the influx of people has now collapsed.
12/ "Groups of 8 people go in waves - usually 4 waves are prepared for the attack. But there have been cases in Soledar where it took 14 waves to take one area. Of course there were survivors, but the casualties were a hundred or more. That's for one section.
13/ "Groups have drone operators to lead the whole group into position to clear the area. At the same time, the lightly wounded do not slouch and do not lie down – for that, they could shoot you in the legs and leave behind.
14/ "This tactic is the only possible way to achieve results and advance in such conditions. The line of defense in Soledar has been cleverly constructed for years, the army command has neither the possibility nor the desire to advance there.
15/ "That's basically why the task was handed to Wagner. From the outside, it may look unreasonable to take such a high casualty rate deliberately, but try to look at it in a different way: even 4 waves of 8 men – that is 32 men killed at the worst.
16/ "Throw in even a regiment – they will lose much more and even they will fail to cope with the task. In percentage terms they will lose less, but in absolute numbers, more. Therefore losses of over 50% for an attack are not bad, if there is a result.
17/ "There is much less manpower for assault groups now, shells are also in short supply. And if the artillery is suppressed, then no one will call the stormtroopers back anyway, they just mop up without cover.
18/ "If there are more groups in reserve, you can send in 5, and 6, and 7 waves, just to finish the result. This is not an army, here it is better to have more initiative than to underdo it.
19/ "The 'Musicians' have their own training – with a crazy intensity, if you are without experience – but they teach a very narrow range of tasks.
20/ "And the newcomers from the penal colonies are very well disciplined: first they are shown video executions, then very soon they encounter their first real examples, and then they get used to such discipline completely.
21/ "Another plus from this [in contrast to the Russian army] is that it is not the practice in Wagner to reassign those [qualified as] artillery gunners to the stormtroopers, unless as punishment. Good gunners are also worth their weight in gold.
22/ "The army will not be able to replace Wagner in hot areas, this is not even considered. In modern warfare, the number of soldiers is not an indicator at all. But, again, the question remains open – what to do about the shortage of shells (120 and 80 mm)?
23/ "There is a concept of "efficiency relative to the situation", and so this efficiency can be high, but if the situation is deadlocked, then the main issue is still not resolved.
24/ "Exchanging people for territory is beneficial when the territory is small and people in reserve are plentiful. If, on the other hand, you have to chop for every metre and people have become scarce, problems begin to arise.
25/ "As a result, losses are growing and progress slows down. The recruitment of convicts at first gave a full-flowing river of people, now they are gone. At the beginning of the war there was talk of Syrian mercenaries, some even came. But they are not fit for this war.
26/ "Among the 'Musicians' they say aloud that "we're about to put the squeeze on and take everything here." But among themselves, everyone expects that we will be removed from the assault on a number of directions.
27/ "And even if a large mobilisation begins right tomorrow, it will not be possible to immediately recruit refuseniks in the required numbers, but they still need to be run in, brought to the desired condition, …
28/ "because otherwise it will not even be possible to spend them effectively. It takes time, it takes a lot of shells. And we have neither one nor the other."
GreenandGold: No I don't.... I never got into it, when it came out I was already into the World of Tanks, I simply ignored it until years later when I realised that people were into it. I just don't have much interest in grinding up the WarThunder ladder, that takes plenty of sugar.
Started playing WARNO lately and i start to like it day by day.
War for Ukraine - First Conclusions from 2022 and New Challenges 2023
Austrian Army Colonel Markus Reisner on the War for Ukraine. He takes a look at the first lessons identified and the challenges we might see in the weeks and months to come. Caution: Heavy German accent.
davefurn: Check out twitter news feed today, seems they want to go stanlingrad style and fight back; since western weapons aren't working. Fight fire with fire but you're fighting that fire with someone that have been fighting with fire since and it's their doctrine. Let's see how it goes, now those on Soviets doctrine, what did I say before; when advanced weapons fails, numbers is the best option. That's good thinking from the Ukrainian side, since they are getting losses, let's overload them with canon fodders; since we outnumber them before 20:1....let's increase the number exponentially; but remember since they played this tactic, they haven't won any city back, even Kiev wasn't taken nor kharkiv taken and only a fool won't notice that China is funding/backing russia economically for a battle of attriction especially BRICS role(As far as Russia has BRICS full support, they have nothing to bother on economically ; that's my assumption though, I can be very wrong). The long term foresight is that, if ww3 happens with Britain/Europe population; they will find it very hard. Why? Remember ww2, most of Europe army were their colonies ; unless they recolonize Africa and Asia again... They will find it very hard, numbers still play a very big role in very large warfare; Afghanistan proved it, Vietnam proved it apart from Persian gulf war
ariesbull: The dispute and ambiguity over the meaning of "China" and which "China" stemmed from the division of Republic of China into two Chinas at the "end" of the Chinese Civil War in 1955. (Fighting between the two merely eased off after 1949 and no signing of a peace treaty or armistice ever occurred; the PRC still threatens attack on ROC/Taiwan when it deems necessary.) The term "China" historically meant the various regimes and imperial dynasties which controlled territories in mainland Asia prior to 1911, when the imperial system was overthrown and the Republic of China (ROC) was established as the first republic in Asia. In 1927, the Chinese Civil War started between the Kuomintang (KMT, founding party of the ROC) and the Chinese Communist Party, a socialist party. The Communist Party eventually won control of most of ROC's original territory (mainland China) in 1949, when they proclaimed the "People's Republic of China" (PRC) on that territory.
davefurn: Did I say it wasn't confirmed or it's false, I just said something simple: they're biased in their information; they only post the ones that suite their narrative.
Can you show me an example where Oryx or the maps of uawardata show bias towards the one or the other side? So i can understand u better.
davefurn: No news is trustworthy now, propaganda left and right...... How I wish information can be decentralised like crypto etc
So easy to fish out Putin-Trolls in these days. The idea behind (Russian) propaganda is the following: Fill the social media zone with shit until no one can be sure what to believe or not - even to the point where visually confirmed equipment losses are labeled biased.
The ideal candidate (He/She) should look like this:
> must be educated in the field of economics > younger than 55 years > non tribalistic technocrat personality > a mover and shaker with aspirations who is more interested in the work ahead than useless party politics > must be able to lay out a realistic step by step program to fight poverty (micro-small business) > must be able to articulate a realistic vision how to create an investor friendly environment for medium-large business
ecomog1990: ... Aircraft will park when fuel finish but vehicles will stay on ground 24/7 always ready for operation. This is a land war not air or sea. Airpower is just a good force multiplier.
Vehicles do need fuel too, otherwise they are complete useless. You always fight in multiple domains named Land, Sea, Air, Space, and Cyberspace and you want to dominate these 24/7.
While we can exclude the sea domain in the landlocked north east the battlespace still presents 4 domains:
> Land (Ground forces operations) > Air (Air-Ground Operations, Intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance) > Space (ISR, Command & Control) > Cyberspace (Information warfare)
TabletMan: The first two pictures is Russia reservists from Tver region who can't afford proper military footwear.
The two last are from DNR troops who can't afford a sizeable military cloth and they're with their war loots.
How can you be seriously advising your fellow African man to go there and make money when people doing recruitment can't even afford a proper military wears for their available soldiers
Russian army contracts end traditionally in April and many Russian contract soldiers deployed to Ukraine will not renew their contracts and drop out. Since there is no mobilization announced the RU MOD can not fill (officially) those gabs with conscript soldiers. This is the reason they have to take in a growing number of retried soldiers from very poor regions from the far-east as cannon-fudder and Wagner PMCs like this two guys from Central African Republic killed in Donbas.
This is from a pro-ukrianian channel though. Does Nigeria have all those strategic missile system, does Nigeria have an air defense system?... What kind of air defense system do we have?... Just asking even though we don't really need them.
There were/are some 16 Roland SAM on mounted on tracked vehicles and it is said some “36D6” TIN SHIELD Radars were acquired from Ukraine for air surveillance - but i have never seen evidence of those said radar systems in Nigeria.
EDIT: I think i read somewhere that the NAF operates some Chinese PL-9C SHORAD Short range ground-to-air missile systems for base defence.
Ukraine themselves just received a new S300 Battery and they reduced Russian Air-Ground Operations successfully in the east by using short range shoulder launched SAMs.
kikuyu1: Ohh damn! A French African guy with a small yt gun channel emailed B&T requesting to tour their Swiss factory and got a meeting with the MD Carl Brugger himself! [url][/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvjD83ncIus]
I know B&T does PDWs for Police and Government Agencies but do they also offer products or the civilian market?
Lurker4Long: Funny way to respond to an innocent fire aboard a cruiser: first you pull all your ships away from the shoreline, out of range of nep...eh innocent fires. Then you send cruise missiles to manufacturing sites of Neptune anti-ship missiles.
..and weather data shows clearly that there was no storm in the Black Sea area.
davefurn: Well, Russia just lost a cruiser; this is a L for them. Even the mod just confirmed it
The crew has a abandoned the ship and the Moskva probably sinking now. Ukrainians say anti ship missile took it out. Russia says it was a fire detonating ammunition. Both statements may be true.
MAN1960ii: So there are still men like you who supports the US despite what the US has done. Now you said Russia has carried out cruelest war crime in Ukraine but some times I wonder where were men like you when the US invaded irag even when the UN past a resolution not to. I still ask myself where were men like you when the Palestinian people were being bombed in their own country and their land being occupied for more than sixty years
Many countries has seen the ugly face of NATO, how I wish you go to Libya today and mention the name NATO I promise you your live will change for good after that moment.
Syria, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Irag, Palestine, Afghanistan, etc. when war crimes were being committed in the Middle East were you not in existence?
Don't tell me anything about the west( the empire of lies ) I THINK The Only PROBLEM YOU Have IS THAT You WATCH TOO MUCH CNN
You ask me where i was, when those people suffered?
I tell you where i was, on right side of history: I was on the side of the Syrians, Libyians, Sudanese, Yemenites, Iraqi, Palestines, Afghan people and consequently i am on the side of the Ukrainian people today - for the very same reason because I oppose all forms of imperialism. Again: I do not believe that US imperialism is better then Russian imperialism or vis-a-vis that Russian imperialism is an alternative to US imperialism. ___
Isn t it interesting that some people here repeat Russian propaganda takes from even Russian people know that are lies as factual? Think deeper: You are played off once again.
If there are no nuks deployed in NATO Eastern states today tell me what will Russia do if NATO starts deploying nuks in Eastern Europe tommorow, there are no laws stopping NATO from deploying nuks in its Eastern member States. The only way out for Russia is to prevent or stop such military organization from coming to it's doorstep, if the US finds it self in the same situation as Russia the US would have taken more drastic measures.
NOW I Will PROVE THAT THE US WOULD HAVE DONE WORST.
So you think Russia can prevent NATO from deploying nuclear weapons at its border by invading Ukraine? While US/UK/France can simply fire a ICBM from anywhere else?
Russia demanded security guarantees, these included:
> Ukraine should never join NATO, > the withdrawal of all NATO troops from the Eastern European NATO accession states > an end to all military NATO activities there, > a contractual renunciation of any further NATO membership and an end “nuclear sharing” > (the stationing of US short- and medium-range nuclear missiles in Western Europe)
Russia offered:
> nothing
The demands were non-negotiable and were therefore not negotiated. A few weeks later, Russia invaded Ukraine. Since then, Moscow has been covering the neighboring country with the cruelest war crimes in the name of "demilitarization" and putting into practice a genocidal rhetoric of extermination preached in the name of "denazification". The only reason that Putin didn't want Ukraine in NATO is because he wanted to invade Ukraine. It has nothing to do with Russia's security interests.
For Putin countries like Ukraine or Poland are either non-existent or just puppets of the United States. The Ukrainian territory would be only the first step in his long term strategy to establish a greater Russia. It is no coincidence that Putin has demanded complete withdrawal of NATO troops from the countries of the former Warsaw Pact. Putin also believes that right now he has a certain military advantage over the US in hypersonic weapons. He has repeatedly said that this advantage will not last too long, for Americans would soon catch up. It means he has to capitalise on it now.
Russia propaganda is pushing the narrative that the West to be fundamentally weak, corrupt, and cowardly. And i thnk at some point the Kremlin believed their own propaganda to be true. It looks like a miscalculation because as a result, everything Russia allegedly wanted to stop with its list of demands will be realized now:
> neutral Sweden & Finland to join NATO in June, this is extending the RU - NATO borders by 1,340km > The NATO military presence in Eastern Europe is being expanded > Ukraine army is being supported by the west > an increase in the US nuclear presence is under discussion > EU and Kyiv are talking about EU accession of Ukraine
Still you can argue the Idea was right but execution was poor - but geostrategically, Russia has already lost more than it can gain, however this war turns out.

If you really learned your lessons from history then you realize that Russian or Chinese imperialism is not some sort of alternative imperialism, as some might naively think, it is the same.
Sizzorkay: Imagine Russia, China, Belarus, Mexico etc, have something like NATO, then Russia and China station their troops in Mexico, in what reality do you think America will ever allow that. No fvking way.
In reality NATO was never a geo-political threat to Russia. East European countries maintain small armies and do not have/host nuclear weapons. NATO only started to deploy troops to its eastern border after Russia invaded Crimea 2014. Russia always wanted to invade Ukraine to maintain their ideology of a greater Russia, this is sadly a proven fact now. That is the very reason why Russia never wanted that UKR to join NATO.
kabe1: The Americans are prepared to fight the Russians to the last Ukrainian.
The Ukrainians have the will to fight, no one is forcing them - this is why get the support from the US and EU. Someone like you who literally wrote here that he would agree to surrender Lake Chad to ISWAP to gain peace will never understand that it is worth to defend democracy to last man. Please never call yourself a patriot again. Spinless cowards like you are a shame to this nation.
