Guy, it keeps some of us entertained
It actually made me to read the history of Nigeria from 1820 till date.

Made me to read virtually all the literatures about war. I careless about it before. Initially, I thought it was just a mere riot.

Made me to read the history of yorubas -- culture, tradition, language and war expedition.

Same for Igbos, Hausa/Fulanis and Benins.

In a way, it makes you to search for more knowledge and to discover your root and really know who you are and who you are in the same geographical expression with.

OP some of us have been here long enough to know who started this rubbish.

Go into NL archives and see the threads of 2008- late 2010 and see how Ibos ran all sorts of hate threads against yorubas, with most of us, in our usual way, unconcerned about it until it really got out of hands and the reaction was unleashed fully back on them.

Most of their e-Generals have calm down and there appears to be little sanity now, unlike then.

For the ones that refused to change, we are here for them until the last standing one of them, has a change of heart.

Till then, I am proudly yoruba.

Mutual respect and decorum are luxury words in some people's lexicon and they should not expect same, if they are not ready to give any.

abdulrazat:
he lied. Awolowo was released from calabar prison by Ojukwu before the war. Both men had an agreement on secession but Awolowo betrayed him all because he was promised a top position in Nigerian government. Reason why till date, no Igbo man in his right senses would trust a Yoruba man. One thing is certain with both tribes, an Igbo man is arrogant and proud but he would not betray you like a Yoruba coward who will always backbite.
Another lie from the pit of hell.

Where is the evidence that Ojukwu released Awolowo from Calabar Prison. A big fat lie. He never did. The federal government did.

Where is the agreement between Ojukwu and Awolowo? We have asked this question severally and not even one of you, just one, can answer that simple logical question. Just show us the evidence.

Our forefathers never had any dealings with you. By extension, we do not have any relationship with you whatsoever. Neither do we owe you any loyalty. Therefore, who cares whether you were back stabbed or betrayed or whatever you may choose to name it, in consolation of your defeated souls.

We do not care and whine about things we expected you to do for us and which you never did. So do same. Get over it and leave your miserable lives.

Politics › Re: Wikileaks Cable On Nigerian Fuel Imports by superstar1(m): 4:48pm On May 27, 2015
Olisa74:
5. (C N/F) Otedola recommended that NNPC stop contracting
with international fuel traders and negotiate purchases
directly from refineries worldwide. According to him, such a
move would have two positive effects. Otedola calculates
that NNPC would save some four billion dollars a year in
expenditures on imported fuel. (Note: Prior to deregulation
in October 2003, NNPC, then the sole importer of fuel, lost
two billion dollars per year because it sold stock to
retailers below purchase price. After October 2003, NNPC
initially stopped subsidizing fuel sales, letting marketers
import fuel to be sold at market prices. However, sources
agree that NNPC is back in the business of subsidizing
gasoline sales while it maintains a facade of deregulation by
encouraging private marketers to import fuel that NNPC
purchases at market price. NNPC then sells the fuel to
marketers and retailers at a reduced price to ensure that
those companies maintain a profit margin while holding
consumer prices to informal caps set by the Department of
Petroleum Resources. End Note.)

6. (C N/F) Otedola added that by cutting out the
international traders, NNPC would also enhance the
environment in which Nigeria's refineries could be restored
and operated. Otedola said he believes international fuel
trade "mafias" are behind the failure to bring Nigeria's
refineries back on-line and to capacity. Otedola is
convinced these traders arrange for the vandalization of
crude oil feeder pipelines, which keep the refineries at Port
Harcourt, Warri and Kaduna closed or under-capacity. He said
the international traders generally receive at least one
million dollars per shipload of fuel to Nigeria and have
grown accustomed to the easy money Nigeria offers as long its
refineries remain down.
Can't believe Otedola said this over 10years ago.

Politics › Regard Asari’s Utterance As Mere Threat —urhobo Youths by superstar1(op):
URHOBO youths under the aegis of Urhobo National Youth Council, UNYC, have urged the incoming administration to regard recent utterances of the leader of Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Front, NDPSF, Alhaji Asari Dokubo, on returning to the creeks as a mere threat. They called on Dokubo to desist from making inciting utterances against the incoming Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Assuring the incoming administration of peace in the region, UNYC National President, Monday Oyeghe, said that contrary to threats by Asari on the resumption of a “Niger Delta struggle,” the people of the region would support Buhari in achieving the needed change in Nigerian.

He explained that Dokubo’s utterances should be discarded as a mere threat, adding: “No youth of the Niger Delta region would resort to arms struggle against the incoming administration, rather, we would work towards the success of the incoming administration especially in ensuring that the administration implements its development plan for the area.”

The Oyo Empire ran into trouble wen the yoruba men where defeated by the women's army fon of dahomey. Igbos have always been segmental rather than hierarchical. We have too many small autonomous groups that have never been unified till this day.

Hierarcical society usually have an Empire outlook. Like the Fulani Emir system all over the North. The Kingdom of Benin is an example of Hierarcical society that will attempt to dominate the whole southsouth and impose one rule under the Oba of Benin.
Revisionist and liar. the Dahomey Amazons NEVER defeated the YORUBA NATION.

Instead, the yoruba nation through the egbas, dealt them eternally blow they never recovered from. That marked the end of their reign in Dahomey.

Can't id10ts like you have a thread, without bringing yorubas into your perennial whining like bush babies. If you want the thread to be derailed, we shall assist you in full measures.

I do laugh when some people call for deregulation.

You will only create a cabal that will even be worse than what we have now. They will from a cartel that will dictate the price. Kerosene and Diesel deregulations are classical examples.

We need refineries in the country ASAP. It is even better for us to be importing crude oil and refining it in Nigeria, rather than importing petroleum products.

Refineries must precede deregulation, if we do not want to create another monster.
