Does anyone know how to reach UPS to check for passport delivery? VFS sent a mail since 2 June that passport has been picked up by courier and up till now, no message or call from UPS to update on delivery.
If you have any experience sending your passport through Lagos, kindly share. If you have PPR here, I will say just send to Abuja, Lagos is practically too dull and slow over 2 wks since my friend sent his passport now. |

I will say wait for your husband to finish and get his PGWP, then you can apply for SOWP. Your husband study will will expire 3 months after his study completion date, and the SOWP is always tired to the principal's expiration date. So wait, and get maximum stay after he gets his PGWP. My opinion, others could have better information. sainaF: Hello all, Thank you for all you do here. My husband will be done with his school in canada by August and then he will apply for PGWP. So should we apply for SOWP now or wait till he gets the PGWP.
Seeing as the whole process takes atleast 5 months. |

Men, there is no secret I know of. But, I will say book that flight before summer rush hits you hard. Whatever you see now is childs play, until you see the summer prices. People have claimed that if you clear your cache and search for flight using incognito mode in chrome, you get cheaper flights, i have tried it and nothing changes. You can also ask some travel agents, and compare their offers to what you are getting from your own research. Best Wishes. What is the secret of getting the cheapest flights (with exceptions of Ethiopian Airline).
Planning to book flight for family asap.
A guide will be well appreciated. |

Spouse PPR will show up eventually, send the kids passports for stamping as you have 30 days to do this, then raise webform about your spouse application and keep sending them until you get response. OkukuOne: @Makano, Skull4eva, lizzygirl, estake, survivex, DrAFOguns, jimogh111, Shommyface, SweetJJ, drokiri, HEAVYWORLD, et al,
I sincerely do not know what to do now. I know the passport request for me would come shortly but when?
Just a recap of our situation. My 4 kids passport requests have arrive, but the spouse own is yet to drop. Children passport dropped on April 5 and today is April 11, still nothing has happened yet.
1. How long should spouse wait?
2. What can spouse do to facilitate the passport request?
3. Have any here experienced this long day after kids SP havew dropped?
4. Should i send emails to all IRCC offices, if yes, can you share the email addresses?
The waiting and suspend is killing.
Someone should please assist me the best line of action now.
Thanks in anticipation. |

If the consultant is a registered IRCC consultant, they will not give you the login details as explained. Since you have gotten you visa, your spouse should create his own GIC KEY login details and apply from there for himself and the kids. You will provide a copy of the your visa, study permit, LOE for the semester, tuition receipts and all necesaary legal documents you have in Canada, unless you are still in Nigeria while they apply. Read some pages back say from page 250-till date, people shared list of documents they used in applying for SOWP as well. Best wishes. mizz2posh: Hello @Makano and other gurus in the house, please kindly advice us, we used a consultant based in Canada for my study visa, which I have gotten, now my consultant says they cant give me my login details cos they use their portal for all their clients applications. Now, we want to apply ourselves for my husbands SOWP and student visa for our kids, please how do we link my application to theirs since they can't apply under my account, your advice will be highly appreciated....thanks. |

1. This is question has a lot of scenarios; however, the valid question will be: If you apply today, how long will your application take? The longer it takes the closer your passport is to expiration. So this depends on many variable. 2. Start a renewal and apply with the current. If the new one comes out before you get PPR, upload it as a webform and inform IRCC. Otherwise, follow the suggestion of others. 3. This is a general rule, passport must have at least 6 months and above validity when applying for any visa. Cheers OkukuOne: @Makano, Skull4eva, lizzygirl, estake, survivex, technix, DrAFOguns, jimogh111, Shommyface, SweetJJ, drokiri, et al,
I have a question w.r.t. passport validity.
1. If a passport is to expire in November this year, and you applied this month, what are the pros and cons of the status of the passport?
2. Is it better to start the renewal of the passport that will expire in November or allow the visa to come out before the renewal of the passport?
3. Must a passport have more than six-month validity before a visa is issued on the passport?
please, if you have an idea, kindly give flesh to the above concerns.
Thanks, in anticipation. |

Congrats Toceen2022, Please I sent you a message. So I can connect with you. Please check and respond. Thanks Toceen2022: PPR don drop o
SOWP and VV for my 1 year old daughter.
Application submitted - Dec 23, 2022 Upfront medical - Oct 1, 2022 Biometric - Jan 3, 2023 Medical updated for spouse - Jan 23, 2023 Medical updated for daughter - Feb 8, 2023 BVL and PPR - March 1, 2023
I left Nigeria August 18, 2022, but I didn't apply for my family because my daughter's passport was not out yet, so I decided to finish 1st semester because submitting their application. On February 14, 2023 - the day my daughter turned 1, I sent a very emotional mail to all IRCC emails I know and also raised a webform Nairobi, Lagos and Abuja. Some responded with normal generic mail. 3 days ago I got a personalized email from IRCC saying that my application is still within the processing time and encouraged me to keep checking the processing time - which is 52 weeks, so I thought they are not working on the application and booked a ticket to Naija for next week. Seeing PPR this morning is still a surprise.
I thank Jehovah God everything worked out well.
Please guys, I don't know how to send family passport to VFS, any help or reference to previous post about it would be greatly appreciated. |

In addition to previously provided comments, see my response in Blue text! OkukuOne: @Makano, Skull4eva, aestake, and all respected leaders here, I have come to enquire how best to present our case.
Spouse is a student and she left in early Jan 2023 for a one-year Program with Co-op being inclusive. Her SP and WP are to expire Jan 2024.
We are planning to apply for OWP for hubby and SP for 3 kids of age (14, 11, and 9).
Hubby is the sponsor and has good travel history. Hubby works outside the shore of Nigeria
She also used home ties as detailed below in her SP application:
1. Ability and efficiency in supplying services to her community on her return to Nigeria. 2. it will increase career prospects 3. enable her to compete both locally and internationally. 4. mother-in-law and her 17-year-old cousin living with them. 5. promise to return to where she volunteered before she traveled; so that she can share knowledge 6. Set up a similar outfit (of study) in the future because her community has a shortfall in the area of skill acquired. 7. Together with hubby, they have landed properties in Nigeria.
what is the shortfall on this SOP since we (hubby and kids) are planning to apply for OWP and SP ??
Can we now use spouse's parents, hubby's mother, and land properties as home ties? Yes, you can. Makes sure to include evidence as applicable.
Is medical a must for hubby? if yes: Yes, this is a must unless he has done one with IRCC and it's under a year old.
Is Upfront medical okay since hubby travels a lot and IRCC can send them for medicals while hubby must have returned to work? Yes, upfront medical is ok.
Do children need medical? if yes: Yes irrespective of age. Even a day old will need one.
Is Upfront medical okay since hubby needs to take them there as well? Yes.
Do children of age (14, 11, and 9) need biometrics? Children age 1-14 do not need biometric. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/identity-management/biometrics/exemptions.html#toc2
GCKey for student or GCKey for hubby, which is preferable? Create one for hubby it is always better.
The big question here is when to apply? Though I have read people apply asap, some after 3 months, while others a year later: This is a 1 year Study visa, I will say the sooner the better, as long you have all the documents. Or you can gather all the documents and get ready, once you land in CND, get enrolled, collect your study permit and WP, scan them to hubby and apply within the week.
I will appreciate scrutiny and the best approach to the entire process.
Thanks, for your anticipated assistance team. |

Pyale: SOWP PPR is here!....
Hello house, please rejoice with me as my wife's PPR just dropped. We applied on June 16 2022, review started first week in August and medical was updated to pass on August 8 (did upfront medical). Bvl letter sent on August 17th, and ever since then, no update!
Although we were worried why BVL was sent without PPR, we were calm as the application has been processed faster than we expected (65 wks processing time as at the time we submitted in June)
But on seeing the message that @Kam3 posted this morning that her/his PPR already dropped, I was motivated to contact IRCC since Kam3 submitted his/her application in July while we submitted June.
I immediately wrote an email to IRCC, explaining that we were yet to hear back from them since BVL was sent. I immediately received a confirmation email that I will be responded to in 5 working days. Since it's late here Canada, I was just about going to bed when my wife called that I should check her gmail for an email from IRCC.
Lo and behold, PPR message has dropped! That was just like 28 mins after I sent the email to IRCC.
I am happy to provide details of necessary docs that were submitted if anyone is interested in that. I am also happy to provide guidance for any future SOWP applicants. Meanwhile, my wife and I got married in December 2021, and I returned to Canada in January 2022. She just finished her undergraduate studies last month, so this good news is coming at the right time!
I want to use this medium to return all thanks and praises to Almighty God who facilitated my wife's SOWP. I also want to thank everyone on this platform who has been so helpful in responding to messages, and providing necessary guidance on the SOWP application. Without your help and testimonies here, we wouldn't have been able to put forward a very strong application.
And for those of us still waiting for a decision, yours is next! Regularly pray about your application and don't lose hope.
And just an advice, when sending message to IRCC, be humble, praise them first, acknowledge that you understand they are dealing with lots of applications before making your request.
Thank you, Master JESUS!!! Congratulations. Please I am gathering documents to apply for SOWP for my wife aand daughter arounf November this year. I am already in Canada on study permit. My question is, am I the one to apply for them using my GCkey details, or my wife will open her own account and apply for for the SOWP? I was trying to check if I can apply for them using my account, but I am not seeing that option on my portal. Please let me know. You can provide a link as well. Thanks |

geekly44: good morning all,
Please i have an issue. My name on my passport is missing my middle name and a letter from my first name due to an error from my dad when j was younger. however the names on nin, pvc, driver licencse, certificates are correct
I swore an affidavit for my passport and also plan to add these documents to it so further prove its my name. will that suffice ??
Thank you I will suggest that you go and update your passport to align with other documents. Doing an affidavit will not suffice is this case. The correction on your passport can only be done in Abj and you will have to go with your NIN, WAEC so they can confirm same and attach it to your information update request. After that a new passport will be issued to you after capture. You can wait for gurus in the house to offer their opinions. |

Well in my case, the admission was confirmed around Dec 2021. I was waitlisted and LOA arrived around early April of 2022. I sent Notarized transcript and WAEC card details. |
