PoliticsRe: Nigeria Youths Are Not Prepared For Leadership by Sweetguy25: 8:10pm On Oct 07, 2015
Some Nigerian youths do have the zeal and the proper attitude to lead and serve. If you go to our various universities, you'll see various young Nigerian students who are quite good with politics and leadership. However, the Nigerian political environment is structured in a manner that is not favorable to young people.
PoliticsAlimosho LGA Receives The Highest Monthly Allocation from FG. But... by Sweetguy25(op):
As usual, FAAC publishes monthly allocations made to all tiers of government on the dailies of some national newspapers. I was going through the list of the disbursements made to local government and I was quite confused. I couldn’t understand why the model or formula used in allocating funds to local governments was still based on population figures collated 10 years ago.

For example, Alimosho received the highest allocation from the federal government (452 m). Why would Alimosho receive almost five hundred million naira, which is over a hundred percent higher than the standard or mean amounts received by other local governments? Also, why should Alimosho receive a higher allocation than Ikeja? Why should Ikorodu receive over a hundred percent of what a bigger local government like Obio/Akpor receives?

The model currently being used to allocate funds to local governments is totally anachronistic and redundant. The populations of these local governments have changed rapidly over the last 10 years. Maidugri collected 170 million from the government, while Obio/Akpor received 150 million. The population of maidugri is no longer the same as it was 10 years ago due to terrorism and insurgency. Even in Rivers State, PHALGA collected 20 million naira more than Obio/Akpor although Obio/Akpor is currently more populated than PHALGA.

The current revenue allocation method breeds corruption, redundancy and inefficiency. It is totally unacceptable and need to be changed.

I'm starting up a web marketing firm in Abuja. It looks like all these guys are based in Lagos and they don't seem to have more experience in web marketing than I do. For example, for people who claim to provide SEO services, the SEO on their various sites aren't encouraging. I've also seen some of their adwords campaigns and it wasn't encouraging either. angry

PoliticsNigeria At 55 - Do We Have Any Reason To Be Optimistic? by Sweetguy25(op): 8:27pm On Oct 01, 2015
"E go better" "God will see us through" - Those and a few more are phrases Nigerians use to pacify themselves when talking about the horrid state of Nigeria. But the questions to those phrases are when and also how?

Why should anybody who understands how fundamental and foundational our problems are be optimistic that Nigeria, with its current leaders, systems and structures witness reasonable progress in the nearest future?

When are we going to have a GDP per capita of over 10 thousand dollars?
When are we going to generate over 40 thousand megawatts of electricity?
When are going to have an effective educational system?
When are going to have an effective security system?
When are going to have an effective healthcare system?

These and many other questions need proper answers from people in charge of our national affairs.

Till then, happy independence to Nigeria and happy new month to everybody.

Also, happy birthday to me and any other person born today.

He's your brother. You must tell him no matter what.

The problem here isnt that she's a hooker, the problem is that you've slept with her so many times. All the numerous girls and guys here who are defending her wont marry someone their sibling has slept with.

I'm a degenerate myself but I cant marry someone my brother has slept with.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that he's absolutely right. Being blind in your patriotism for Nigeria and hoping that the country will make any meaningful socio-economic and political progress is nothing but a delusion.
Nigeria, with it's history, current problems and sociopolitical setup, will find it extremely difficult to make any meaningful progress even with the most upright personalities at the hems of affairs.
I've given up any little hope I have for this country.

When Nzeogwu and his group attempted to execute the first military coup, they believed the act was for the greater Nigerian good. They initially planned to assassinate political leaders from all regions. However, they assassinated leaders from the west and north but failed to assassinate those from the east. The northerners who were the most aggrieved percieved the coup to be an act of war against them in the north. The northerners retaliated and killed thousands of easterners in the north while the easterners resultantly attempted to secede. The attempt by the easterners to secede met a miltary oppossition which eventually led to one of the most gruesome wars in African history that dragged on for three years.

Now, before the northerners retaliated by killing easterners, they didn't think of the coup as a Nigerian affair. And this false perception was on of the the issues that led to the civil war.

90 percent of Nigerians harbour tribal sentiments. Buhari is a tribal bigot as evidenced below

A former Chief Press Secretary to the late Governor, Chief Kehinde Olaosebikan, yesterday said in Abuja that a conflict between Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani would have thrown the country into another war.

He told our correspondent that a former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, had led a combative delegation of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) to meet Adesina in 2000 in his office.
According to him, “Precisely on the 13th of October, 2000, former military Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, in company with former Military administrator of Lagos State, General Buba Marwa, had led a heavy team of Arewa Consultative Forum in a combative mood to the office of the governor in protest against the alleged killings of over 69 Fulani cattle herders in Saki Area of the state.
“General Buhari whose arrival to the Secretariat complex was preceded by scores of lorry loads of Hausa men and boys said pointedly at the executive council chambers of Oyo State that his team came to meet the governor to seek reasons why the people of Saki should not be dealt with for killing Fulani herdsmen. He did not stop at that, Gen Buhari accused Governor Lam Adesina of complicity in the killings and using his position as governor to pervert justice.
He quoted the former Head of State as accusing the former governor of shielding the culprits. According to the General, they therefore wanted immediate stoppage of the killings, justice and compensation for the mass killings of the Fulanis or vengeance across the country. Olaosebikan added: “As weighty, indicting and provocative as the General’s allegations were against the governor, Alhaji Lam Adesina remained unperturbed as he only fired back with his own well- coordinated arsenals in form of refined strategy, robust explanations and effective engagements.
“Lam Adesina identified all the points raised by the General and simply asked the heads of the organisations directly involved to respond.”
He quoted Lam Adesina as saying: “ Before I thank you for this visit, you have come to tell me something, I also want to tell you something and that something is to make an appeal. General Buhari has been a former Head of State, Brigadier Marwa has governed Lagos for some time and with credibility… so you are national leaders of this country. Even though, by accident of birth, you are from the North, so you can be born anywhere, may be next time when I am coming to the world I will be born in the North or the South South.’
However, we never thought Buhari would carry his tribal biases and nepotism into Aso Rock. That is what Nigerians are currently complaining about.

RomanceRe: Top 10 States In Nigeria With The Most Beautiful Girls by Sweetguy25: 11:25pm On Aug 24, 2015
I'm from Imo state but I honestly think Enugu has more beautiful girls than Imo. In the south east, Enugu comes first, Imo comes second, then Anambra follows. with abia and ebonyi competing for the last spot.
In the south south, Rivers comes first, then Akwa Ibom, Edo, Bayelsa, Cross River and Delta.

In the north central, Benue has the most beautiful girls, Plateau comes second, Nassarawa, Kogi, Kwara and Niger (I didnt include abj)

These are the only places I have extensively and properly visited
