PoliticsRe: What Is Wrong With Igbo's? by Sweetlemon(f): 10:19pm On Aug 01, 2015
bilms:
If Igbo's cannot feed themselves when Nigeria blocked food from going to Biafra during the war, how can they feed themselves now that they are calling for another Biafra?

My point is that, before ever dreaming of Biafra, Igbo should think of how to provide food for themselves.

Don't be blinded by hate and sentiments.
This your point is a killer! Ndigbo, una don hear?

I pity her sha. See as fine babe turn herself to accessory.

This should be a lesson to every young girl out there as well as every young boy.

Study and work hard or you will be like Iara.

Study and work hard and you will enjoy like ugly toad Oshiomole.

I didn't read this. All I skimmed through was "blah, blah, blah". Abuja is miles ahead of Lagos. Trust me, I've lived in both.
Abj is not a place for struggling people.

@ post everything is correct expect the transportation. Abuja is way cheaper. Taxis go for less than N500 in abj. But in Lagos the same journey will cost you tripple or more.

funny enough, the Yorubas are not wailing about the removal of their native son or asking that his replacement should be Yoruba. The difference in ethnic idealogies are different and clear for all to see.
sukkot:
do you see my response to this thread ? this is how a yoruba man responds to news like this. this how we roll. we dont consider every yoruba to be our family. just cuz you are yoruba dont mean i count you as family. thats how we yorubas get down, and as such this type of thing does not affect anyone of us. the man who got removed when he was getting his salary did not share it with every yoruba person. we are individuals first, then yoruba next. a little lesson for you SE folks
I hope some people can now see why I praise the political sagacity of the Yorubas despite being an Oron girl?

Why was this thread brought to the front page all of a sudden?
With all the good news springing from APC recently, I smell desperation in some quarters......... Someone paid for this thread to hit fp. I'm so sure of this!

Are there no Igbo's in the Army, why replace with another Northerner. The marginalization of the SE is quite annoying.
I condemn it, I condemn it and I call on PMB to request the reversal immediately or face our wrath.
This is why I say you Igbos are not very smart politically.
You want Buhari to risk giving you guys key/sensitive military posts with all your recent shouts of biafra and hatred towards his govt?
You must be smoking something!

You know what, even if Nigerian divide into Arewa, Yoruba and Igbo. The only set that will remain united are the Hausas.

Selfish interest everywhere.
Not even the north will stay united because there are Northern Muslims and Christians. The middlebelt will eventually break away too. In fact there will be chaos everywhere. The only state that will most likely stay united is Sokoto because of the over 95% Muslim population and large fulani population.

The problem is nationwide my dear. When Nigerians are ready for serious business we will move forward.

kokoA:
I've said it before that anybody who is asking for the division of Nigeria has no sense at all. The hatred between ethnic groups in thesame region is even worse than that outside the region. Give the igbos Biafra today and I bet they will use a good number of years bombing each other; Enugu igbo vs Anambra igbo, Ebonyi igbo vs Abia igbo, Imo igbo vs Ikwerre, etc. Our problem in Nigeria is that we hate ourselves for nothing irrespective of tribe, religion and what have you. I've heard older uncles of mine refer my tribal people who speak different dialect from ours as devils.. grin We speak thesame language, just some little variations but a man from my side will prefer to do business, marry, interact with someone even from space than have anything to do with those people who speak same language as us.. We black people have a long way to go.
Biafra ke? With Anambra Igbos that feel they are superior to other Igbos? The worst mistake they will make is to drag SS along with crazy Ijaws, Itsekiris, and the Orons and Ibibios in Akwa-Ibom. Una go siddon dey watch film show ni o. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy grin grin grin grin cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
I just laugh. Nigerians are just NOT serious people. That's all. Whenever we get serious, we will move forward, but for now......... I can only pray for God to grant baba divine wisdom because..............

It's not about being pro or anti Jonathan. It's about the law. All presidents since OBJ have breached the 2004 Armed Forces Act.

I agree that the confirmation hearings will be more of a rubber-stamp of Buhari's choice. I'll be surprised happy if the Senate (and the House) reject the Acting service chiefs.
PoliticsRe: Senate Screens Service Chiefs Thursday – Saraki by Sweetlemon(f): 3:16pm On Jul 29, 2015

A Federal High Court ruling in 2013 held that substantive service chiefs cannot be deemed to be properly appointed without NASS confirmation.
Seems you're happy about that. You're one of those closet Jonathanians with anti-Yoruba/Hausa sentiments.
Well, sorry o. Senate confirmation is just for formality. Saraki will be digging a big grave for his political career if he dares try anything funny. The service chiefs are as good as confirmed. Trust me.

It is obvious the house is not going to indict the governor no matter how, the members are in his pocket. Meanwhile, he is not going to escape hammer if he is truly culpable except PMB derail from his anticorruption stance which I don't see happening. Note, Aregbesola, Fayose and co are going to leave office before Buhari first time expires. So, there is going to be an ample time to kick the ass of any corrupt politician.

NOTE, APC is my beloved party and I abhored PDP with venom of a python. If Aregesola and co from APC are found wanting they must be dealt with according to law. Era of impunity and nepotism is over for best.
I agree with you. Aregbe fall my hand......

They voted because Buhari apologised to them over the killings of their men and promise that he'll end the insecurity in these regions and address herdsmen clashes and Alas! none of these promises have been fulfilled!
Apart from BH, I can't remember the last time there was a communal clash.
There will still be a few of course. But if Buhari does his homework well, it will be greatly reduced.

Slow but steady wins the race. Slowly slowly, small small, little by little, we are getting there. Businesses are picking up these days because power has greatly improved. I used to think it was because of the rainy season before but now I realize that the rains haven't even been much unlike previous years.

My prayer is for Buhari to remain resolute and focused and not get intimidated by the cries of wailers and their insults. Let him appoint his ministers when he deems fit and appoint who he likes even if people call him the worst names. What matters to most sensible people is performance of his team and not their regions/state of origin.

We will get there.

Every tribe goes for business in other lands, but you never said that, all you said was they fight over there how can a few people that stay in another man's land for business start fights. ? . It's like me going to ebonyi and start fighting the locals.

I would like to know how you can identify a kanuri man or woman from their clothing only, that would be interesting..

I just hope you are not talking about or mistaking bororo fulani or niger Hausa's with kanuri people o
You be Kanuri man abi? Na so your body come hot.

I'm talking about kanuris living in the MB and in other parts for whatever purposes. Your first defense made it sound like there are no kanuris at all outside Yobe and Borno.
I know how Kanuris dress. Trust me. The ones I'm talking about usually move in groups (women). They are obviously kanuris. and I also know a Kanuri that has stayed in Lagos for ages (there would be more of them for sure). Come to think of it, do you live in Yobe or Bornohuh
As for visitors who fight the locals, like seriously! You've never seen such caseshuh Anyway if it would make you feel better, not only kanuris fight their hosts. It happens everywhere in the the country and the world in fact. Now will you drop this argument now?

There are no kanuris in the middle belt lady.. only yobe and borno, kanuris do not like leaving their zones. They always prefer their area, even with the bh wah ala they have not left their states enmasse
You cannot tell me that there is no single kanuri in the MB. That will be claiming oversabi. Even if there are no group of settlers there, there will be people doing business, trade, or schooling there. I know a Kanuri man that has spent almost all his life in Lagos that is in faraway SW not to talk of MB that is nearer. I see a lot of Kanuris in Lagos. I can spot them by their dressing. I'm not saying there will be much, I'm saying that there will be a few of them. Few.

How did kanuri end up in middle belt, shows you really don't know what you are talking about.
And fulanis have always been in middle belt, they have kings there also, only problem is they are minority.

Lastly I hate when people always label the fulani man as the constant agitator, sometimes they get attacked first, and no one cries foul, yet when they retaliate the media then labels them the agitators, just Cuz they don't own the media,

... back to the topic, the voting pattern from the last election was influenced by the general disaffection with the president and the insults his wife made against the north , , also the realisation by the middlebeltans that the average south east earner or ss man does not differentiate between them and a hausa man ( be they Muslim or Christian ) made them fall in line and vote for Buhari
I know. I know.

There are few kauris in the middlebelt. To my understanding, The kanuris are actually the most violent northerners although everyone calls all of them Hausas.

The votes gotten from other states put together (minus Imo) is not up to Edo alone. I'm sure simpleseyi deliberately left Edo and Imo out.
