[Congratulations to you and your family,I use this as a point of contact for my own application,Lord pls come through for mequote author=ThekayBature post=111833684]PPR Alert!!!
What God cannot do doesn't exist.
Timeline

I will like to use this medium to encourage us all. I come to Nairaland to read people's stories to get encouragement and so I hope my own story will encourage others too.
It is not easy staying apart from your family. Many times I started wondering if this whole Canada business was even worth it.
When I got to Canada in September last year, I was motivated by a friend who applied early last 2021 and got approval for his wife and two kids within a month, so I thought it was going to easy like that. I did not bother applying immediately. I already had it in mind that I will apply by December and they will join my in January or February, then by October the story started changing. People were now saying 5 months, 6 months. The Indians friends I have were saying 14 months. I just couldn't believe it. I rushed and put things together and applied in November.
When it looked as if the way forward was through VV, i quickly joined the band and applied in December. I put up all the documents i could lay my hands on, so when i was refused, it was a shocker. The first thing that came to my mind was, if they could refuse the VV which i trust was quite strong based on family ties, i did not see how they will grant us the SOWP. The family tie was still the same. I didn't even understand if they wanted the tie to be strong or lose- family tie home and abroad. That same day, i used webform to upload a letter of introduction from my spouse's employer and a letter of Leave of Absence. I did not upload them at first because they were not ready then.
I resolved that i was going to stay a while and then reapply, but few days later, I logged into the old portal and that was when i noticed that my child's VV had been withdrawn. I was so confused. They did not even give any reason. They simply withdrew it. I tried calling but to connect to their line is as hard as getting visa sef. I put up the first webform to complain and ask that they fix things if it was an error. They replied the next day that they was a letter on my portal explaining the reason, and if there wasn't any, I should fill out another webform with a screenshot of the portal showing that I didn't get any letter. I did that and they ignored me for a week. I wrote another letter to them again asking that they fix things or explain why it was withdrawn and they took their time to reply. When I didn't hear from them after four days, I wrote a long letter in the webform, tried to be as emotional as i truly was and waited some days and no reply again. At that time, I just decided to apply afresh for my daughter alone. That was wen they replied the 3rd webform with a one-line sentence saying I had two similar applications and that was why, then a week later, they replied the emotional webform explaining in detail why it was withdrawn and even telling me that they have seen the new application and that it was been processed. It gave me ideas that these guys want someone to be emotional and scream to high heavens about mental health deteriorating because of being separated from ones family before they will react. i could be wrong though.
Same day i reapplied for my child, i ordered GCMS notes for my spouse through getgcms. I wanted to be sure that they had received the letters from my spouse' employers. They told me 40 days, i said no wahala in my mind. All these while, i was already doubting the successful outcome of the SOWP just because of the VV refusal. 30 days later, getgcms writes to me that they needed extension by 30 days. i just laughed that these people wanted to finish me.
On the PPR day, i even wrote to them asking why they hadn't updated my daughter's medicals on the new application. An hour later when i got the "Do not reply" i even readied my mind to see refusal. God i doubted you, i am sorry! But to my astonishment, it was my spouse' PPR. I broke the new to them at home, telling them that my child's own will come soon, not knowing that it was there already, waiting for me to open it too. I just said i should clos my email, when i noticed that the application number on the emails were different. If you see the speed i used to type details for the new portal ehn, even my computer shock. My child's PPR was just there waiting cooling for me to open it.
It has been a journey of 5 months. Very tiring! I know that there are people whose applications have taken longer. Please, don't lose hope. Canada will/shall/must favour us all.
Amen!

Wow,Congratulations to you and yours jonosas: PPR, baby!!!!
Oh, wow. What a ride.
Applied for SOWP for my wife and VV for my 2 kids on Nov 17, 2021.
Then applied for VV on the new portal for all three on Dec 30, 2021.
Received GCMS notes 2 days ago, mentioning home ties. Then today, messages about both applications appeared in wifey's inbox. When I saw them, my heart sank. I felt, this is it. E don finish.
I opened the VV on the new portal first. It said "withdrawn because a visa has been issued for your SOWP". It's still like a dream! In short, PPR for SOWP on the old portal (VV for kids withdrawn) and PPR for kids on the new portal.
I have to mention @Lianna2020 for all her help and support. You're absolutely awesome!!!
To anyone still anticipating, please don't lose hope.
Cheers!!! |

Congratulations to your family on the pregnancy,i am also on this table,my wife was 6weeks pregnant when i got my study permit approval november 2021,i couldn't travel till jan ending cos i had to stay with her go pull through first trimester crisis so i did my fall semester online from Nigeria,i submitted their(wife &son)) application in feb and trusting God for approval soon before she gives birth...so i will advise you submit the application with a strong sop explaining why you really want her to join you and also increase your pof to cover wife, baby and delivery and trust God everything work out well Anntola: Good afternoon guys, I’m so happy to be here. I recently got my study permit approval and I will be traveling by ending of this month. I really need your guidance on how to apply for my wife SOWP coz I intend to submit her application asap once I settle down.
So here is the situation, my wife is 11weeks pregnant now after 2 recent miscarriage and I really want her to join me immediately. What are the docs I need to submit to support her application. All her medical file like previous 2 PT test, Scan(s), series of test results before those Mc and after Mc are intact. Does our GYN/OBS need to write letter to support her application, does our hospital need to write a letter too? Do I need to increase my Proof of fund?
What is her chance of getting SOWP before her EDD?
Please I really need you guys input, so I can get all docs before I travel.
Thanks in advance. |

Wow wow,God be praise, congratulations to you and your family.I tap into this grace as i am about to submit sowp dor my spouse and visit for my child Kenon1: PPR Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOWP and daughter’s study permit application approved in 65 days! It can only be God!!! It has finally ended in praise o! Come and join me sing hallelujah, Jehovah Jireh has done me well. I am super-duper excited to drop my story here because it is a dream come through against so many odds after about 11 years. At some point, I only come to Nairaland to read other people’s testimonies and after reading, I will share with my wife believing that one day we will share ours to the glory of the awesomely awesome great God with whom nothing is impossible. When it appeared that the door of express entry was shut at us due to age consideration and our SINP application came back to us ineligible after about 9 months of waiting, it was as if we had come to the end of the road and it was very painful. We had a choice to throw in the towel and quit (…but we realized that winners never quit). Then we decided to reconsider the study route which we never thought as an option because of its huge cost implications. As God would help us, my wife got an admission into MSVU on 14th December, 2020 and her study permit was approved on 10th September, 2021. She couldn’t travel until 29th December, 2021 because of Omicron with its attendant unexpected “apartheid” travel ban. Now, as the SOWP & study permit application journey started, the burning question was whether we should submit my SOWP & daughter’s study permit application without my wife’s study permit and SIN while she had not started lectures and was still in Nigeria and send them later via webform when she lands in Canada or wait until she lands in Canada and gets her study permit and SIN before my SOWP and daughter’s study permit application will be submitted. There were varied answers to the question above. But we prayerfully submitted our application on 18/11/2021 with wife’s study permit approval letter and without her study permit and SIN. My wife travelled to Canada on 29/12/2021, and her study permit and SIN with Student ID card, school fees receipt and updated enrolment letter showing full time student (because the one we submitted application with had “part time” student) were sent to IRCC via webform & e-mail on 20/01/2022. Thereafter, I sent an enquiry on the status of my medical examination to IRCC via webform & e-mail on 21/01/2022. There was not specific reply from them except the generic auto response emails. To my greatest wonderment and pleasant shock, when I logged in to check my e-mail on Saturday (afternoon), 22/01/2022, I saw three donotreply@cic.gc.ca messages from IRCC (one with my daughter’s application number and two with my application number). I was apprehensive (should I open it or not). Torrent of messages flooded my mind. But when I finally mustered courage to it, lo and behold, God has given us “an earlier than expected miracle” of the beautiful golden PPR emails for my daughter and I. In view of the crazy SOWP current processing time of 61 weeks, my heart “cut” and I was tempted to apply for visitor visa via the new IRCC portal. In fact, I started the visitor visa application and everything was almost ready for submission. But I said to myself, since my wife travelled to Canada on 29/01/2021 that I would wait till 31/01/2022 by then she would have been one month in Canada and if there’s no tangible update on the SOWP application, I would hit the ‘’SUBMIT’’ button for the visitor visa application. But God is bigger than my doubts and worries. Timeline: Submitted my application: 18th November, 2021 Biometrics done: In 2015 for a previous visitor visa application Medicals upfront done: 2nd November, 2021 Medical passed(Daughter): 23rd December, 2021 Medical Passed(Dad): 22nd January, 2022 Eligibility review started: 22nd January, 2022. Did you travel as a vaccinated traveller or unvaccinated pl,cos you didnt mention vaccine certificate as part of the documents blueyuchay: Landing gist!!!!
I used Egyptair. Left by 2:30pm on Friday Jan 7 through Abuja. I was asked to print all my required docs so they can scan it - Covid test results, ArriveCAN, school fees receipt, enrollment letter. My luggage was not searched. Arrived Cairo for 5 hrs layover by 8:40pm. Boarded for Toronto from Cairo by 2am and I was asked for Covid test results and ArriveCAN before boarding.
Arrived Toronto 7am. Joined the queue where I had to self register my travel docs and I got a receipt.
After that, I joined another queue where they asked for my receipt, passport and ArriveCAN. Then I was asked to join another queue to get my study permit.
I was asked for my study permit approval letter (letter you get on your account after your passport has been stamped). Because I didn’t have a physical copy, they asked for my passport and I was asked to wait with others. Then my name was called, I went to meet the lady, she asked my school name, course name and if my classes have started. Then gave me my study permit.
From there I went to pick up my luggage, then I was directed to where I submitted my receipt and exited the airport.
Please I’m available for more info if you have questions. Thank you |

Thank you so much for your response,i appreciate Akannitommy: Hi,
Either option is okay. You can apply from Nigeria - OWP for wife and study visa for your child could be okay too depending on his/her DOB because by the time they land the child could be closer to 4. Put the pregnancy matter in a convincing LOE/SOP - it is a strong point for you. The fact that you stayed home for one semester is also a good point to argue you are not desperate (don't use those exact words).
When you land then you can send your SIN, Study permit and even local bank account statement if you want. Make sure you cover the POF part very strongly and remember that your POF from within Canada is more reliable and easily verifiable than from back home regardless of the millions of Naira.
A second (or even additional) option is to apply for visiting visas for your family through the new portal when you land without withdrawing the SOWP or apply.
It shall end in praises. |

I tell you,it isn't easy at all, being having my classes online since September and I can categorically tell you it's not easy,I was looking forward to travelling this December before the ban,we can only pray to God to make a way for us where there seems to be no way for what he (God) cannot do does not exist, let us keep hope alive Benquip: I think some people don't understand the brain drain that's in attending classes virtually. I have done it and I wouldn't want anyone to go through such stress. The time difference is even more longer now before it was 5hrs for people studying in Ontario, 9hrs for Vancouver, mind you Ontario seems to be the lowest. When class starts over there is when you're getting ready to rest here. So it's not okay. Going through comments from professionals in the sector I feel it would be lifted soon. It is politics induced decision.
May God Make It Easy For Us All |

Thank you Jesus, oh thank you Jesus.
I applied for SOWP for myself and Visitor's visa for my son , submitted when my spouse was still in Nigeria and he left for Canada August. Even though, I read on here to wait till he gets to Canada but i just did not want to take chances and backed it up with prayers, trust me i got tired most of the time because of the wait. Anyhoo... God has done it oooooh.
The week my spouse travelled, he sent me his study permit and i uploaded it for myself and my son via webform and also via email. After submission on the 1st of June, when my spouse got to Canada in August i added the following docs:

IRCC requested for consent letter and birth certificate for my son 19th of November ,sent same day
Eligibility review started for my son and I on the 19th of November
Sent all sorts of emails and enquiries contacted a couple of MPs (Kitchener and London Ontario sent enquiries to IRCC on our behalf too). The MP in London ,Ontario contacted IRCC for us in October and they came back to say they would finalize our application in January 2022 ,I said abi they were joking ni, well instead of getting mad at the messenger sebi na help he kuku do me. I took the response and processing time he mentioned to Jesus.
Before then, i requested for travel exemption for my son and I got an authorisation as per subject of the email in September 2021 for my son only. In the course of this application, i also renewed my Nigerian Passport because the one i applied with was meant to expire January 2022, after the renewal i updated it with a webform.
If your spouse has a Study TRV for now abeg apply ooooooooo ,i did and God did it for me and my son, he will do yours too.Waiting on God to come through was not easy, i was strong and weak at the same, seeing people share their testimonies here i did wonder when mine would land ,finally it has landed and i just want to say thank you to Abba Father.
I am writing this to encourage my peeps that are waiting because our peeps that shared their Sowp journey also encouraged me while I waited for mine. I would not say you should not worry cause arghh mo worry gan ni but try not to worry too much which I know is easier said than done and I prayed, I stopped praying and I continued praying again,God i prayedddddddddd .(KO FUNNY RARA)
It ended in praise and the lord crowned us with his goodness. |

I got the first request Sept 30th and didn't hear anything from them till Nov 3rd...I think you should still give ircc time and if after a while you still did not hear from them then you can start sending mail and webform, but be assured that your ppr is certain in Jesus name Bobomaigida: MP means member of parliament, most people reach out to them to see if they can help get updates on their application if the school they are applying to is under their constituency, If IRCC have requested for updated LOA from you, please go and chill your PPR is coming.
