I dont agree GMB will sweep SW....cos SW is mostly Xtians, so they are more likely to vote GEJ instead...the North central is more likely to vote GMB cos they are mostly muslims..but you're right that the NORTH is united against Jonathan....
There are many christians from Southwest that I know who are not bothered about Buhari's religion but would rather have Jonathan leave. The Southwest does not base their politics on whether you are a muslim or christian but on who is capable and competent, then sometimes on tribal lines but more on the former. APC is still very strong in the southwest. Jonathan might get 2 states in the southwest but the remaining 4 will go to APC.

You know Nigerians are very funny & unpredictable ppl...dont wanna take any chances oh...cos if ds guy enters...he will fulfill his promise of unleashing terror on his foes.
You are very right. I'm a southerner and I'm afraid of what looms. The north will come for revenge. They will never forget the casualty they suffered under Jonathan regime. This is what I see. PDP has put the whole country in a state of panic. There was an agreement within the party that power will shift though not a Nigerian accord but this agreement was revoked by Obasanjo who convinced the North that Jonathan will go for only one term. Now Jonathan wants more than one term. North says it is their turn. When will power not return to the North. What will happen when Jonathan leaves. Jonathan is even more scared of leaving power. He will rather die than leave office for Northerners to flair him. Easterners do not want the north to come back because they perceive them as threat to their exisence. Westerners are playing safe because they do not want to be victims of Northern revenge on the South. As for the coming election, Jonathan needs to rig to come back. The North is now united against him. You can confirm this from their elders and royal fathers. They want to come back and jonathan's only joker is to rig because as it is he can not win in a free and fair election. APC is likely going to sweep the southwest and The three zones in the North except for North central where it will be 50:50. PDP will sweep South South and South East and get little vote from the west. But because Lagos and Kano are two largest states and North has more states PDP needs to rig. So for Jonathan to win he needs to rig some states.

Tribalism is our first problem in this country and I want you to know the hidden truth that Hausas are the most tribalistic ppl in this country...a hausa muslim will still favour a hausa Christian over a yoruba or Igbo muslim once the hausa christian just shouts "rankadede!" Hausas will pretend not to be tribalistic but I tell you, dey are the most dangerous ppl in nigeria, very deceptive set of ppl, holier than thou attitude, they are perfect description of the biblical pharisees, I work with them hence I know what I'm saying, green snakes under the green grass putting up a pitiable face but stabbing, destroying and laughing you @yur back...allow Buhari to rule @your peril southerners...

After tribalism den is religion with muslims being the contentious ones here....dey believe every other religion are infidels and deserve the slaughter slab...its difficult for them to coexist with other religion peacefully especially if dey now know you were once a muslim, dat is an offence punishable by death to them.

Hausas & Muslims? Deadly combination!

If fashola is such a performer, then let's have him contest for the presidency and let's see if the notherners will view that with the same level of objectivity. The last time I check, you don't count on a vice president to turn a country around. It all rest on the president. Put forward your best man for the highest job.

We all know the limit of a vice president as enshrined in our constitution. Fashola did well as a governor of Lagos state, not its deputy. I am yet to hear of a performing vice president or deputy governor in this Nigeria.
In Buhari's case it is his Vice that acts just like Tunde Idiagbon did during his tenure in office. He believes in Tides and FasHola will just be another brain for him. This, I believe is his permutation but let him allow Fashola and Rochas and relax as elder stateman. This will earn him more respect.

SamIkenna:
Its a shame some folks would rather pretend they were from the moon.

Less divisive people like Chime, Fashola, Duke, Fayemi, Mimiko, Ribadu, Ata, Utomi, Akume, etc - these are people I'll vote for any time. Even Ogbeni, I'm willing to vote for him. Obi recently messed up by joining PDP but still, I'm willing to forgive overlook that. The people I mentioned above - I will vote for before considering Buhari and my reasons are simple:

Buhari is an ethnic champion, a Fulani supremacist, and a sharia monger. Ogbeni, in my consideration, is openly religious but you never hear him talk religion, and for that reason I'm comfortable with him knowing that he considers my interest. But Buhari....what you see is what you get. He may arguably be the most virtuous contestant but in the world we currently live, in this current climate of extreme political Islam, all non-muslims and serious secular minded individuals should be wary of folks who overtly or covertly tilt towards Islamofacism, Islamic domination, or sharia implementation. Its a pity that people who, either because of their peculiar history, have a much favorable disposition to Islam and all its variants have decided to cast aspersions on others who're wary of Buhari, sharia, or Islam in its entirety.

In some of my posts I stated how much I feel for the general. Buhari as a person is perhaps a great individual. However, in Nigeria's political sphere being great or just a nice person or whatever is not enough because our country is a mosaic of diverse and, oftentimes, mortal enemies. For the above reason, any individual seeking for a position at the center must never be seen as belonging to any of the extreme poles. Buhari is seen that way and this is what many of his supporters are not willing to accept. Hating on non-supporters of Buhari or insinuating that non-supporters of the general are thieves who're afraid of him is absurd. Yea, maybe some are - I don't know. But at the same time there're many of us whose parents were receiving birth certificates when Buhari was taking over as military head of state, now tell me -what is it did I steal to be scared of the general?

My candid give-away for Buhari's supporters is the following:
(1) Buhari is highly polarizing (that's a fact not assumption) and as such will be almost impossible to return for the second time as Nigeria's president irrespective of who he picks as VP.
(2) Paring him with another muslim will not only make his chances exponentially impossible, it will quickly disintegrate Nigeria if such combo wins, which I think could win.

Let me expatiate a bit on the following statements - "exponentially impossible," and its seeming contradiction, "which I think could win."

Let's try to be objective for a minute. We know that GEJ's support is strong in SE & SS. Middle Belt and SW have some support for GEJ but it still could go either way especially in SW. So, for that reason let's give GEJ a chunk of Middle Belt and let SW muslims go to Buhari. Now that leaves SW Christians in play. Given this scenario, if Buhari pairs with a South West Muslim its obvious that all of SW, NE, NW, and a good chunk of NC is going his way and this is enough to beat GEJ. But then another headache sets in: will SE & SS, the two predominantly Christian enclaves, watch idly while 'their dark' day unfolds? Folks, your answers are as good as mine - its game over.

Now, this is the "exponential impossibility" I was talking about: you win and lose - simultaneously! This is not USA or Europe. No strong enclave is going to play dead in this century. We see what happened in CAR and many more so its imperative we ponder on the outcome of some choices before thinking we can easily force it down the throat of others.

Buhari is a pill most of us will never in a million years accept. And accompanying the general down our throat paired with another muslim as VP, especially now that we're much more wary and apprehensive of extreme Islam (and for good reasons)? Wow! you've got to be kidding - that's practically saying good-bye to Nigeria as a union.
When people reason logically lIke you just did with lots of objectives to back up their facts, I tend to flow with such people. I had wanted Buhari in my previous posts because of the impunity we see in the present PDP. For no reason will I vote PDP if I were to vote but after serious consideration and this your post, I will prefer Buhari to step down and let Fashola and Rochas do the magic against GEJ. If APC can put these two down GEJ will be floored. This combo will appeal to those who believe in performance, younger generation of leaders, bigots, religious fanatics, and all kinds of individuals you'll find in Nigeria

You better go and buy Garri now because looters and corrupt people will soon be invited into his cabinet and many will feed from the crumbs. A president that claims he's not corrupt but keeps surrounding himself with corrupt individuals is what some Nigerians think they need. Let the suffering and smiling continue.

shut your idiocy-laden mouth......Omo odun melo ni e? You children of nowadays just lump everything and everyone together just to butress your wrong but silly analogy

If you were born or matured in 83-85,you will not be using generalised statements that Buhari overthrew a democratically elected government which we all know not to be true. He was called to lead and he accepted owing to the monumental corruption of that time

Shagari could not be bothered despite all the noise of people and the fact that the economy was going to ruins then, his ministers and everyone that had anything to do with Government were patently corrupt and living in wanton opulence

Even Chief Obafemi Awolowo wrote a lengthty letter to warn Shagari of the dire consequence of his see-no-evil and do-no-evil approach but they called him a frustrated old man and ridiculed his offer of help

Fast forward to this day,Corruption has taken a life of its own.......even with the clueless President saying ordinary stealing is not corruption!

We know those who destroyed Nigeria,Buhari is not among by any shred of imagination....
Thank you for reminding these kids born 16 years ago about what happened between 1983 and 1985. The government before Buhari was so corrupt just like we have today and he came to rescue us from their hands and instill discipline in the heart of Nigerians. That was the regime secretaries and civil servants would report you to the police for trying to bribe them. The regime where both the giver and the receiver were guilty of the offence. But kids today never tasted that they were born during the corrupt babangida or Abacha's regime. So they think it is normal to be corrupt and that Nigeria had always been like this. They also feel because old people like Obasanjo failed Buhari will also fail.

Buhari is different. He identifies himself with ordinary men. He introduced Price control just for the ordinary man to afford bread and sugar because the government before him was almost wiping out the common man. He brought in different measures that stabilized the country.

Man UTD thought the young David Moyes would be able to lead them to the promise Land but alas the had to run back to the experience of the old Van Gaal to rescue their declining fortunes under David Moyes.

Chelsea thought the young Adrea Vilas Boas will be the one to take them to the promise land but alas they had to run back to the experience of Mourinho to make them formidable again.

Arsenal fans complain about Wenger but I will encourage them to beware of haste generalization. Arsenal would have won the league if other teams didn't keep spending heavily to improve their squads.

This is not to say that young coaches are not doing well but experience shows that young folks are often better are building on a well laid structure. The current political and economic climate in Nigeria cannot and will never bring out the best in any young politician. They may get choked with the Mirad of problems.

I put it to all that perhaps a Fashola wouldn't have been able to perform when all hell was let loose on Lagos in OBJ's bid to secure Lagos for the PDP. Fashola thrived because a built on what Tinubu left.

Unfortuantely even Jonathan came into a mess and has not been able to fix the country not necessarily because he is bad, but the problems of the nation are perhaps beyond what he has the capacity to handle. He might just be suffering from the Adrea Vilas Boas syndrome, skillful but immature and surrounded by the old guard who wouldn't co-operate

A Buhari has experience, is old and definitely couldn't be much interested in looting now. Furthermore, experience has also shown that most men become wiser as they age, they look back and see all their past mistakes or inactions and long for an opportunity to correct them and make an impact. Many who have held or occupied positions will understand this principle.

My take Let Buhari correct the ills in a single 4 year term till 2019 and then let Jonathan continue from 2019 to 2023 (the four years in the wilderness would have opened his eyes to all the areas he could have fully met the expectations of the people).

Let us debate as honourable men and women.

God Bless Nigeria
This lovely. Permit me to quote you on another forum. You just created a nice analogy. It is not by the age but who can do it. The General is still strong. Some where wondering why he flew to Rivers the other day in a private jet and I asked myself why these people are so wicked. He was almost killed the last time by Assassins just because he was going about in his humble SUV. They wanted him dead but there he is still alive.

The eyes of Nigerians have opened although not everyone will choose to see. Atiku should just go and collect his money back because Buhari will floor him in the primaries. Nigeria too can use Lamborghini as taxis like UAE, we can build state of the art hospitals like US with professionals from all over the world. We should not be rubbing shoulders with South Africa. I know deep in the hearts of many Southerners, it is not that the current government has not failed them but they are afraid that Buhari, being a Northerner might enthrone the dreaded Sharia. This is difficult in a secular state like Nigeria, not with a country that has lots of US interest. United States will not allow it. Their investment is here and they will protect it jealously. Buhari knows better not to trail that path. This is why US invited him for a meeting. The truth be said, US is no longer intersted in having GEJ as president of this country same with EU. Even Russia that GEJ is running to are not reliable.

There was once a regime where there was hardly Armed robber in Nigeria. There was no Godogodo, Shina Rambo or Anini but down the years corruption has turned the youths to deer-devil armed robbers because there is so much impunity in the leadership and corruption is constantly seen as a fast way to make it in my dear country. It is not difficult for a government to provide all that US and United Arab Emirates are providing their citizens, unfortunately the citizens will rather sell their future and the future of their children to greedy politicians at no cost.

Ofcourse we are not in a sane society grin Wonder why a man "dash" a woman oil bloc and no one called for deeper investigations... Your society is clueless. An actress cheats on her man, and everyone is asking for my head for stating the obvious. This society is NOT sane.
What do you think our society will be like if we all start raising all kinds of allegations. If I said you were the one that murdered Dele Giwa whereas you were not even there. The fact that these things happen does not mean we should now start generalizing. So if any woman rises in Nigeria, she must have slept with all the men. Then going by your assumptions Dora must have walked her way up there by sleeping with all Tom Dick and Harry, same with Okonjo Iweala. Well I have met ladies with principle who have become so successful without compromising their belief and principles. To you it may be difficult to believe. I also share the fact that you've lost hope in the present Nigeria of today. From within you, I know you are not very sure she obtained the oil block by sleeping around. Just that it appears so weird. Let us consider this analogy. Lets assume I am the President and I become so ill having tried orthodox medicine and a lady working for me found solution to this ailment. I can give her more than oil block. What will people think, ofcourse that she slept with me. There are many instances why people act in various ways that we both don't know. You could be right about your allegation and you could be wrong but I'm sure you are not 100 percent sure for that reason, you can not accuse her on a public forum.

But for those wey get sense, they employ female marketers to keep up with the corporate bedmatics

Alakija is a case study. That woman has been linked with some Nigerian politicians - bed wise. When a politician decide to give out an oil bloc to a woman, you should know "how well the man has dug the bloc" grin grin

Even Linda Ikeji is not innocent. In her own case, I believe she has bedmatic marketers warning the bed of her paymasters. Wonder why her blog was suspended? Reason is not far fetched, oyinbo nor dey take nonsense, most do not mix pu**** with business.

Assuming the owner of google is a Nigerian, trust me, 3 fresh punnanies will restore that blog in 30 minutes. grin grin
The rumours people spread about affect lots of women in their marriages. How can you come here and accuse a married woman of getting oil blocs by sleeping with top shots in the society. Did you confirm it. What is your evidence? Did the husband come out to tell you her wife engaged in such act. If we were in a sane society you would have been sued. Your fourth generation will still be paying her back for damages. If you had simply generalized that some women indulge in such acts without mentioning names, wouldn't that have saved you the embarrassment you've subjected yourself to. Please let us consider and confirm what we accuse others of so that we don't incur God's wrath.
