Does he read what Paul recommend shld qualify an Elder and a bishop. Unless he is not serving God, to whom much is given much is expected.

Poster, I would have loved to know the extent of your knowledge wrt PERSONALITY DISORDERS. I ask you this because I am presently in a similar realationship. My wife is disrepectful and abusive, infact it was by God's grace that I am not physically abusive on her. infact she wanted to physically abuse me and I know it will be too bad for her because I will out beat her but I decided long ago not to beat any woman.

personality disorders are curable but you will need a psychotherapist or a pastor that understand how your wife mind functions.
in the interim you need to protect yourself and your children.
on my part I created some limits and my nature of work helps too. ordinary Discussing with my wife is a case, next she is treathening to get angry with me. everything is my fualt, her pastor even told me to love and show her care. but with information from book I am reading I am learning to protect myself from her toxic mind and attitude.

You will need to assert yourself, protect yourself and your children from an abusive wife.
Establish limits of what you can take both for yourself and your children. She will abuse them also and it will continue the vicious circle making their adult life worst than her own.

Try give your children happy times and encourage they associate with friends.

there 2 sides to every coin and the earlier posters recognize these the better balanced thier views will be.
in every marriage there are 50% - 50% contribution by both partners. for marriage to work, each must check his/ her action with respect to the welfare of the union.
Concerning couples that expect too much from the other partner not minding their own deficencies, the will always blame their partner for any problem in the union.

Love in Marriage is like coals of fire that require fanning to keep aglow, when both partners have one excuse or the other for not faning the coals. Then one is pointing to the other as the cause, what self deceit.

Partners should be one with themselves and respect the other. they should show some empathy to each other.

I feel you Op. I am currently reading two books to help me deal with my discovery. My wife has been acting weird and abusive then I found she has borderline personality disorder. She was not diagnosed by professionals but her character fits it from my research. I have a son and I don't want him affected or infected by it.
One book " stop walking on egg shells" is teaching how I can own my life while living with a wife suffering BPD. Living with BPD patient is a high task. The other book "I hate you - don't leave me", explains what BPD is all about.
My prayer now is how to get my wife to acknowledge that something is wrong and to seek professional help.
Another issue, is there ready professional help. You hardly hear one is a therapist or a psychoanalyst. I think visiting psychiatric hospital will help.

wife disrespect to husband is multifaceted.

disrespect from the wife is then ABUSIVE and if its abusive then it could be physically or verbally.

wife abusing the husband is mostly verbal and ladies caught up in such act are suffering from personality disorder.

I am current a victim of an abusive relationship. When I was holding a job, she will loose her mind and wash me down, accuse for things I am not even guilty of, and calls me names. Then I lost my job and hell broke loose. I even started thinking I most have done stuff for her to be abusing me this way, i even consider beating her up whenever she abuses me but then I will be doing what I swore never to do!
I have to research abusive relationship and what constitute it, then I discovered that I am in one already. women that abuse their husband do it because it is in their make-up to abuse the very person closest to them.
these women are victims of childhood abuse from their caregivers and these had injured their psychological make-up.

these abusers are suffering from one form of personality disorder or the other, but mostly borderline personality disorder plus any other.

We can all write and post devise opinions online but the truth about God, church and bible is directly proportional to our understanding and interpretation of scriptures and our readiness to obey.
is church attendance compulsory? YES and No! Yes to a Christian that knows and understand the thought of God as written in scriptures. No to the christian that deceives himself.
To understand church then go to the ist principle of God's dealing with people! Understand why temple worship was instituted? Understand Jesus when he spoke with the samaritan woman! Understand the principle of the shepard and sheep fold!
Understand the day of pentecost? Understand the letter to the churches as in revelation!
When you understand Gods' ways, you will not have problem with church attendance. One particular church may not appeal to you does not mean that you cannot find another that does.
The concept of church is a spiritual entity and each physical representation of church today is a function of interpretation of the head person and it differs fron one person to another.
Somewhere by the corner is a church that fits your bigotry.
Go to church and trust God to perfect you as he promise when he gave gift to men as written in scriptures but to stay away for whatever reason is playing into the devils hands.

Salvation is by accepting Jesus as your Lord. Attending a gathering of believers is very important for your spiritual development. Why? Whatever you feel or understand it to be, take a lesson from Jesus at his baptism by john. John said Jesus shouldn't come to him but Jesus in a simple manner told him its to fulfil righteousness because Jesus knew the purpose of what he was about to do. Do you know the purpose why every believer should gather under a place called church have someone speak to you as a pastor? Look tro scripture, when God started dealing with man, at Abraham time, it was Alters then at exudos,it was for them to gather at a tent, then temple. When Jesus came, he respected temple going. After his resurrection he mandates to wait for the holy spirit. Believers over the centuries were gathering in the name of church and today you are objecting to it, my friend its either you are gathering with Jesus or scattering with the devil. Understand what is in the mind of God about church, the physical gathering of believer and all argument about going to church ends. somebody who is married to women with borderline personality defects and narcissistic personality defects will sign a whole different story/ song about happiness in marriage. such women are impossible to please and they will critic the man to madness. such husbands cannot place a finger to what their wife really wants. they are most times in a bad mood and they will do anything to drag their husband dowm. putting their husband down always to make themselves feel better. worst of it all, they cannot accept there is something wrong with them. they dont know anything and dont want to know.
they they threaten husband with divorce, death and most time get violence with no just cause. then blame husband for it and for all things wrong with them.

PHCN are thieving crowd, In fact I paid my bill last in December 2011. I wwait for them to cut my light. imagine, I spend like 2 months away working and sometimes a week at home on time-off. the period I am away, PHCN gives me bill of 15000 naira/month. I wrote to complain, no response, I called the marketer, that worsen it.I went to customer care they posted me with meaningless story.
