Since the inception of this nation's democracy there has been a northerner occupy either the presidency of vice presidency, it is disgusting, repulsive, ghastly,outrageous and totally unacceptable,the north does'nt own this country we all do!! I have never considered the APC but if they field a president and running mate from other parts of the country they'll have my vote!!

cardinal peter turkson of ghana cannot be elected, he was a frontrunner but he just disgraced himself when he told the associated press that he is eyeing the job. That is shamefull and just emphasised how power hungry "some" africans are whereever they find themselves.

mikeansy: If you know anything about politics you will know that there is more to the electoral process than merely voting and counting the vote. Just before you go on about malfunctioning machines, did the electoral voting machine in Nigeria not also malfunction in the last election in Nigeria?

The reason I am impressed with the Kenyan election is openness of the process and the conduct of the candidates. Did you see the Kenyan Presidential debate? Did Jonathan participate in one of those?

And then talking about the ICC, we all know the ICC is turning into a charade. because anyone who know their onion in politics will question whether this same ICC will charge Tony Blair or George Bush should a complaint be made at the ICC about the Iraq war? I am not accusing Bush or Blair of anything but there is a pattern emerging where the ICC only attempt to prosecute political figures from certain less powerful Nations. As we speak will Benjamin Netanyahu ever be the guest of ICC? Will Israel as a result ever face sanctions for lack of coperation with International Bodies or International law?

I think the Kenyan people should take pride in what they achieved. We can not know at this time whether Uhuru Kenyatta will turn out to be a good President but the man has all the qualities to succeed. You listen to him and you are convinced you just listened to a man who know what he is talking about. I am afraid the same can not be said about the current occupant of Aso Rock!

The decision on who governs Kenya is and should exclusively be the democratic choice of the people of the Sovereign Republic of Kenya. In time I think the international community and the ICC will realise what a waste of time the trial of Kenyatta is at the ICC. The Kenyan people have chosen to move on, let the rest of the world also move on. There is no clear evidence linking Kenyatta to any violence!

i'm not trying to undermine the intergrity and resiliance of the kenyan people and i'm glad you are branishing their success but you can make that point with dumping on your own country, the last nigerian election was open! We sat in front of the t.v screen and watched how returning officers came to the inec HQ with their documents, some where recieved by jega abd some where even refused because of irregularuties in them. African countries have'nt perfected the art of politics and it's good to commend countries like kenya who make strides but you can do it without putting your boot in the troat of your country.

stop talking rubbish! You never miss a chance to bash your country, what was impressive about this kenyan election? The results were put together in choas. The electronic counting system broke down and they had to scramble paper from all around the country to get the result. Odinga is already alerging rigging, and even the winner, uhuru, is being investigated by the international criminal court for the part he played in the massive death that followed the last election. How was he allowed to participate in the first place and today he is president and might soon be wanted by the ICJ, is this your definition of "impressive"?

Wow!! Look at the level of ammunition with these folks! In as mush as i respect and admire what the JTF are doing, i think they should focus more on how these weapons make their way into the country and shut those loopholes. If rats are entering your house from a hole, you don't just keep killing them as they come, you've got to find that hole and close it then kill the existing once thereby stamping out the menace!!!

This is a problem facing most west african countries. Funding and mainting local agencies is dismal talk less of embassies miles away.that is why i sugest ecowas embassies. Just like commonwealth embassies being planned which will be embassy mergers between canada,u.k,australia and new zealand. Ecowas embassies will cut cost, increase productivity and stamp out the incompetence and corruption associated with local ministries of foreign affairs.

dude, as sure as one is about something she cannot just keep screaming without anything or anyone to back her up, i don't know why the government is sparing her a public debate because on that day the government will send okonjo iweala(former obj and current finance minister),ninadi usman(obj finance minister),sanusi lamido(current cbn gov.),charles soludo(obj cbn gov.) with stacks of documents they are privy to. While ezekwesili will be on one side alone with no supporter or documented proof. How will that paly out? Who do you think will exit the stage face down?

For all what she is saying she has no documented proof or credible official to back her up but the government can produce documents and produce backup thereby disgracing her and making her less credible in the eyes of everyone. And that is ho wthe case will end with her reputation to tatters while the truth is still hidden. Now what is the ultimate achievement? She hould put together a very strong case with powerfull evidence before challenging a sitting government, it's common sense!

what are you vomiting? You mean countries who run deficit budgets don't have foreign reserves? In the last 4 years the u.s has ran deficit budgets yet they still have their foreign reserve for a raining day! It's simple economics!! Every country own debt. Debt is an essential part of big economies, the largest economies on earth own the largest debt ranging from the u.s to the e.u and even china but that does'nt mean they evicerate their savings for a rainy day.

This is the beautifull part! We're all happy now seeing all the figures and allocations clearly but when this money starts doing down the wire to all the ministries and agencies, the thiefs spring up and start stuffing their pockets. And when we don't see progress we blame jonathan. This is the problem facing nigeria we need to solve!!!
