I'm waiting to hear what the NLC has to say about this because no doubth if this was the federal government, a nationwise strike will be on the horizon.

Their is a commonsense way of handling this, rather than streaching the workers all week round can't they employ part time workers to cover for the other workers. So in essense we're gonna have weekday and weekend workers. In the end you've solved a problem, increased productivity and created more jobs in your state. Simple!!!

Godman_n: I wonder what you want the Supreme court to do. The Legislature is the supreme head in a democratic system. It is up to the Executive to free up the electoral process and educate the people so that we can elect sane legislatures. But the court have no power over the legislature.

The Executive can however prosecute individual members of the Legislature on proven cases of corruption. But the Legislature as a body is the lord over both the executive and the judiciary.

it is the job of the judiciary to interpret the constitution and ensure their is no infringement on the seperation of power. It is the job of the supreme court to declare any attempt by the legislature to abolish or side step a presidential assent unnconstitutional!!! And their is nothing like supremacy in a democaracy. That is why it is called a democracy, it is crafted specially so no arm of government will have more power over the other.

Does it not bother anybody how dictatorial the national assembly is getting? I've lost count of how many times they have threatened to overturn a presidential veto to bills that suit their personal interest. Their are even bills on the house floor seeking to scrap the presidential assent to bill, the supreme courtt had better do something because those honorable fools be accumulating their salaries, pumping more money into a non-existent constituency project scheme, and no one will do anything rather when things go wrong it's GEJ!!

Constituency projects should be abolished!! How has that money been put to good use? How many nigerians even know who their senator or representative is? Do they hold town hall meeting, do they have offices in their districts or constituencies?...the national assembly is a disgrace, that money should rather be allocated to local governments who are closer, more farmilia and accountable to their people.

Those men are free agents and those weapons they were carrying are illegal cause they have no permission to sell it in nigeria and they were never given permission to even stray into nigerian waters. This just reminds me of when the EFCC came into rivers state to investigate how governour ameachi was spending the states money since some inconsistencies where turning up. Massive protest were organised with youth demanding the EFCC leaves the state. Now today they are the same one asking what ameachi has done with rivers peoples money to the point he says the state is broke. Nigeria's problem is not the leaders alone. GO BUY A MIRROR!!!!
