Everybody is bashing jonathan so i want to ask one question. This president is now spending almost half of the national budget on security, so the military cannot say they lack funding. He has done everything in his power to stop this bloodshed including the amnesty you're all attacking him for, so what next do you expect of him? To arm himself and lead troops to find boko haram? It's very easy to launch critisim but harder to provide solution. Whatelse do you want? A genocide in the north? What else? |
Ghanians belive international trade is a favour. So in essence, the world trade organisation is a charity ball where countries do favours for each other. |

you just keep saying rubbish and it's funny! You still classify international trade as a "favour" i'll let that be the conerstone of this discussion. Because it's just phenominal. "ghanians belive international trade is a favour". |

you see your life? You see how dim you are? I taught you had a brain, did'nt know it was rumore. You now rate international trade as a favour? Wow!! I taught they said ghana has a good educational system, you my dear are a testament to the contrary! |

apparently your idiocy will not allow any common sense prevail from you so i'll give you this parting words, never, ever compare ghana with nigeria, it is an irritating aberation that has been growing that must stop. There is no basis for comparism. If you're so convinced about your arguement. Tell me one thing ghana has done for nigeria! Don't spin this, just answer is plain and simple, "ONE" thing ghana has done for the federal republic of nigeria. |
ndu_chucks: If you read the article carefully, you would have noted that the Reps recommended autonomy for local and state governments and these Reps should be commended for that. The question is would state governors, who were not comfortable with any form of autonomy for the local governments and their Houses of Assembly, allow the matter to scale through when it is reverted for voting in their respected states. I suspect they will rig the votes as usual so that they can keep their powers. Lets hope two-thirds of the states will vote in support of this particular amendment.of course, no governour would want to loose that power, that is were federal pressure comes in. The federal government can withhold some benefits from the state governours like security votes and even their allocation because this is a aberation with infringes on the consitution and must be straigthen out. Once again, do you think governours will endure such a treatment from the president? |
They look like politicians taking oath of office or people swearing a court oath before taking the stand, not couples getting married. |

are you so slow? Or quantum stupidty is just something you cherish? I keep talking with facts why you articulate vague infinitesimalities. I told you he's begging for gas, not only the gas but the funding to build the pipeline, now that's just the one made public, who knows how much nigeria has doled out to you lot. If not why will a head of state visit another country as if his life depends on it? These visits are now so common that aso rock does not even bother putting together a guard of honour! Get to the back of the dole que ghana. Benin and liberia were there before you. |

of course!! "honour the terms" is just a sorphisticated way of "begging" so no matter how you want to white wash it, the truth is that you lot are parasites, sucking on this country and safly the nigerian govt. Is too committed to ecowas to cut you loose, if not, what has nigeria ever asked you for? How many time has our commander in chief visited accra? But just on tuesday, your president spent the night at aso rock. Your president and boni yaye are competing for who will get more handouts from nigeria. Doles!! |
iamswizz: can we see the melonswhat is fashola's buisness with a federal agency like the NDLEA? Or is this another case of fashola derangment syndrom? |
What i really think the national assembly should focus on is granting full independence to local governments from state governours. State governours who involve themselves in local governments should be up for impeachment. The kind of humiliation local government chairmen recieve from governours, is something the governours will never tolerate from the president...once the rivers state governour suspended the mayor of port harcourt and a few others because they came late for a meeting with him, it's stupid and a constitutional mockery that a publically elected official embarrase another publically elected official in such a way. |
ministergh: I think i know the cause of the Ghana/Nigeria rivaries. Ghana feels her economic standing and and a host of things has placed her far and above nigeria in the committee of nations and as such wants to tell nigeria that maybe shut up cos we are bigger than you. Nigeria on the other hand want to tell ghana they are populous and inspite of its recent economic woes deserve to be respected per her past and prospect. but ghana may be right cos a lot of things that seem almost impossible to happen in nigeria happens there. this is a country where government is under serious watch and the opposition has almost the power to bring government business to a halt so that the rifgt thing is done. the legal system seem perfect and government officials are sued by the ordinary people always foand they win lot of the times unlike nigeria. university students sue universities all the time too. maybe nigeria has to fix her stuff so she be strongeryou're either joking or ignorant. What economic standing does ghana have? Nigeria is the second largest economy in africa, having trumped egypt and is billed to trump south africa as soon as 2017. Nigeria is the backbone and number one contributor to ecowas. This is just a small part of what this country is made of. This debate might be rampant among ordinary folks like u. But it is not in aso rock where government officials are now openely disgusted at the regular visits of the ghanian and benin president, always seeking one favour or the other. |
glen87: which Rivers peoplewho knew jonathan before he became vice president and then president? I'm sure he's still in awe at how he skyrocketed to the top, that's nigerian politics for you. A circus!! And like it or not, rotimi has mastered the art of politics, that is why jonathan is being forced though i does'nt like him to pacify ameachi and keep him within the PDP fold. |
K4: don't mind d modafaka sh1theads! nigeria is a SH1THOLE,DUSTBINa shithole that was the place the new ghanian president first visited after his inuargration to plead with pres. Jonathan for more funding from nigerian on the west african gas pipeline as ghana urgently need more nigerian gas for power. |
henryskywalker2003: But 1Cedi is equivalent to 81naira. Lets face facts. We might be the bigger country but they are superior to us in more ways than we are to them.the british pounds stearling is far higher than the u.s dollar. But the u.s economy is number one in the world while the british economy is 7th. A word of advice, stop judging economic might with currency exchange. It's amatuerish. |
A coup can still happen in nigeria o! This is very disturbing |
causewahala: He got power back to the South and got Northerners thinking perhaps they don't really own the country. . . u gon' call him out on that as well?so in essence you just admitted that obasanjo purposely put a terminally sick man as president so he'll die soon and his hand picked deputy from the south will assume the presidency? No whow has that worked out for the country? |
I belive their is a disgusting double standard in this country, this man has'nt been called out enough for the prominent role he played in the distruction of country...it's weird. |
This woman is just demeaning herself, very soon she's be a national joke, the woman you're attacking is busy as minister of finance and co-ordinating minister for the economy, while you're busy sending "torrents of tweets". |
"Somebody give jesus a big hand" |
Gerardcole: What is the world turning into?marraige for some celebrities now, is old school. They belive marraige will lead to their loosing their brand and female followership. Plus it is fun knowing due to your status you can get down with any girl and don't feel any guilt or commitment to a wife. |
Gerardcole: What is the world turning into? |
Buhari is now a better flipflopper than willard mitt romney!! |
Rossikk: What amazes me is the way people simply accept whatever these fly-by-night, mom and pop foreign organizations announce in their 'newsletters'.you don't need anybody telling you something that is obvious! Nigeria is lagging behind scientifically. How many science fair have you withnessed in nigeria? Or what major scientific breakthrough has been achieved here? That does'nt mean we don't have the potential, we do, i've met a ot of kids and adults who have great ideas and potential but don't have the resources to carry it out, that is why the government and private organisations have to put money into science research, build reserch institutes, so the great brains this country has can put their genius into work, and who knows, nigeria can produce the next great vaccine or technology not china, india or the u.s! |
North korea is a massive joke!! All these threats and goose stepping with outdated soviet era tanks is just a sign that they are hungry and need food plus a little cash from the u.s! It's like a begger telling you if you don't find him something, they'll be a fight. |
Blaming the couple only is missing the point. This is a case of an overzealous camera man trying to pull of one of those fancy posses in modern wedding, but it was a shambolic idea and they played along! |
This man combines wickedness with stupidity!! He wants to go to greece? Where people are dying of hunger and unemployment. He would have gone and encountered hell on earth. And the taught of "i sold my son for this?" will purnish and kill him faster than whatever sentencing he recieves from a court. |
Afam4eva: Some people from Bonny/Opobo are historically Igbos. Even a huge number of those that are not Igbos speak Igbo as a second language. Are you from Bonny/Opobo?don't say what you don't know. There is nothing linking the bonny people with igbos. The bonny people are ijaw people of the riverine and the opobo people are direct immigrants from bonny island. The igbo bonny people speak was introduced by some igbo immigrants from asa, abia state. And that igno is called "bonny igbo" it's slightly different from real igbo and is only spoken in bonny maintown, the historic and natural language of the bonny people which is predominately spoken is "ibani" and the bonny people are "ibani"!!! |
