If you have done your medicals, were you given an envelope? If yes, was there a CD in it? If No, have you reached the Point of Entry without your CD in the envelope?
The CD is for you, they wont ask for it at POE. But either way don't lose it though. The copy is for you.
I think Qlife will also give you x-ray too.

Thank you. Car packing nko?
Consulate does not control the car park either.
Lagos - the car park by the road of Ahmadu Bello is the land owned by the Army, it leads to the embassy you just walk like 2mins. They charge for car park there. Just bare in mind plenty visa agents will be there trying to confuse you with , "photocopy, do you have your form, come and print form, do you have this or that." Just walk to Walter Carrington and got to consulate entrance you'll see security ppl in uniform who will tell you what to do once you show them your interview letter

What happens if you go there with your phone?
Are there lockers where you can keep phones
You might want to get a clear file with all your documents inside ( you can keep cards or cash in there too) to take into the interview.

But anything metallic or in can or bottle wont be allowed. No phones or keys or coins etc.

If you decide to stay in a hotel near the embassy you can keep those items in your room. Or someone comes with you to the embassy and holds it for you whilst they wait for you outside.

There are people that charge for storage outside the embassy in the car park, you can pay but that is at your own risk

Guys, is this true? I heard you don't pay in Abuja.
The US consulate does not store your belongings.

It is private people near the embassy premises that provide storage and charge.
You can leave your belongings at home or in your car if you wish

Make sure application num is what you type in the application id n ref num for ref id.
He will need to capture on or after the apptmt day not before.
He should go with hs docs and expired passport for sighting.
So they will still do photo capturing for a renewal? Okay I will let him know.

I did renewal online for elderly relative, I was still asked to book appointment, so I did.
Payment made, I have acknowledgement slip and payment receipt

But when I went back to site to Track status, I got the message that Application ID and Reference ID not found

I am confused, should I wait a few more days
Should I tell him to go on the day of the appointment? I am not sure what the appointment is for since we upload a photograph, and this is a renewal

Thank you ma’am
Someone said I should say I did traditional marriage only not court marriage

And I should say my bride price have been returned back to the man

Since I didn’t do court marriage, a legal divorce is not needed

They told me to explain all this in a cover letter and also attach a certificate of spinsterhood to back up the claim that I am now single

If USCIS tries to verify if I’m legally married, no record will be found because I am not legally married
Pls don't do this. A traditional marriage is a legal marriage in Nigeria biko even if you did not do court .All those ppl suggesting this is unnecessary lie upon another lie.

You were not married so simply say you lied because you thought it would get you the visa. and add the certificate of spinsterhood as the person suggested .

Proof of her citizenship
Proof of her accommodation and type
Letter of invitation stating she will house and feed you

Yes in the form she is part sponsoring your trip because she is covering accommodation and feeding.

Your own costs are the ones you alone will pay for. Flight and any other thing you want to spend money on.

Lastly pls read back and spend the time to read even if it takes ypur 5hours. You will find advice that people have already given to others that relates to your own case

For someone who previously overstayed his visa about 13yrs ago, what's his chances of getting visa if he apply now?
May not be an issue.
Where you deported?

Typically the form asks you to put in visis to the uk in the last 10 years I think . Same for previous visas I think it should be within last 10yrs

If any where in the application form states have you been removed or deported and if that is true. Then fill it accurately

Uk would have records yes. However if you left on your own 13yrs ago circumstances may have changed for you so no issue applying. Go ahead.

Hopefully you didn't do anything criminal or that took you to court, Even with that you declare it .

Congrats to those getting IL

Please book your medicals, try to get afate before your interview date if possible.
If you can only get a date after ypur interview date its fine. Attend your interview. they will just return your passport once they get results of your medicals from Qlife.

Ensure the documents you submitted to NVC are still valid. Eg tax transcripts ( ensure its the recent tax year) and police certificates withing 2yrs.

If you need to get B
NPC Birth certificate (I'm jot sure of the term they call it but it's the US embassy site) please get that ready.

For those who are F1 its helpful to have any pictures of you and the petitioner handy. Especially pictures over the years

Interview is typically straight forward, they just confirm relationship between you and petitioner and that your documents are valid. Anything they don't have and they need they just ask you to come back and submit.

What else do I recall?
Yes the visa they will stamp on your passport gives you 6months from the date of your MEDICALS to enter the US.
Once you enter the US that same visa is valid for 1yr. Before that time you should have paid for your green card and received it from USCIS. They will post it to the address they have on file for you( which is the address your petitioner used when they filed)
If you want to change that address ypu can update at the Port of Entry

He should have done his renewal before now.

I do think he needs passport details for booking medicals at Qlife

Thank you for your response, I appreciate you, but which category are you because mine is F1 category and don't think it will take the same time frame as yours.

Priority date: August 2015
DQed Feb 2023
Cat: F1
Time frame depends on where the Lagos embassy is with your category and many other circumstances that have nothing to so.with your category.

Someone who also mentioned her DQ date and is F1 just shared her IL letter date . Belle77 and her DQ date is Oct 2020 and IL is August 2024.

So Sir you still have a bit to wait. might not be up to 3yrs but it won't be a few weeks.

Thanks for your response, but I may lose the GA and the tuition waiver if I defer to spring. Also I have defer 2 times now which is the maximum deferal for my school. This means I will even have to reapply for admission. Has anyone been in my shoes please..this is sooo frustrating
Try your chances with an EA. Go ahead

hi everyone,
my mum has a valid uk visa that expires early august
she is going to canada in July with a stop over in UK
however, by the time of the return of her trip
her uk visa would be expired, would this be an issue at immigration ?
can she do her biometrics in canada whilst on a visit visa ?
or the biometrics and capturing has to be done in naija ?
would appreciate response, suggestions and advice
Is her return flight through the UK? Or she wants to stay for a bit.
It seems like she only needs this for a transit.

Might want to consider if she needs a UK visa if her flight back is going through the UK. Because if she's just going to be at the airport then it not a problem.

I think it's a little late now to start applying for a UK visa if she travelling in July.
Id take my chances with applying in Canada for a transit visa fory return flight.

What if, in your marriage in Nigeria, you didn’t go through any court..but rather, you approached her family and paid the bride price and that’s all? If anything happen in such a marriage, do you still need to discuss it?
Exchange of bride price is a bonafide marriage recognized in Nigeria even if you didn't go to court so return bride price and get documentation from relevant customary court that marriage is dissolved.
If you applied for US visa as married then they assume you are married. If your wife also applied for US visa with your name as spouse then you are married .

Hey guys. Can I get married in the USA if I’m currently married in Nigeria?

My wife and I are separated though, due to some cheating, which I can’t talk about here

I’m currently in the states on a b2 tourist visa and I’ve found another woman who I’m deeply in love with. I proposed and she said yes.
You can not remarry unless you are unmarried .

Please ensure your first marriage is ended properly with your wife's consent/knowledge either through court or customary court whichever marriage you did.

If you go and package any supposed divorce documents it will affect your petition I t he US, . The USCIS will just hang it there in pending status.
They already triple scrutinize green card applications from Nigerian men based in the US whose application is through marriage.
GC through marriage is a long road na where e start you know..where e go end we never sure

That's my advice.

What do you suggest i do please?
You can look or ask around for local charities that help mothers with hospital bills. You might find some
Or as another person suggested you work out a payment plan with the hospital, explain you can't afford it you might get some of it discounted
TravelRe: Divorce / VISA Dilemma - Please Advise by Taal17: 12:44pm On Jun 23, 2024
There's nothing to back up here.

In 2 previous US refusals she was single, then the third application she's married. So she fake a marriage document plus divorce for a non existent person .

These lamba documents would be submitted in the US when her husband files for her. That's when she'll see wehn. Providing false documents to USCIS? Dem go dey there refusal upon refusal.

OP, just wait till you need to renew and put single At the interview tell them the truth that you thought you'd have better chance saying you were married. It's either they refuse you or grant it.
Either way you have cleared your married status in their records.

Your bf can then get married to you whether in the US or in Nigeria. If your renewal is refused after you tell the truth then he comes to nigeria

If it is granted. you can get married in the US on a B1/B2 however the reason for your traveling is to VISIT pls. When you enter the country wait like 90 days then go court house go marry.

Hey guys, please I need advise on an existing issue disturbing me

The story:

After 2 previous US visa denials, the agent that helped me arrange my 3rd visa application indicated that I am married on my DS-160 form.

NB: I’m not married at all, I’m a single lady

He said that’s the best way to get the visa as the consular officer will see me as a “family woman” who won’t abscond but will return to her husband and kids

The agent filled in made up names of my so called husband

I went for the interview at Us embassy VI and I got my tourist visa (I was going for a conference)

I traveled and spent 3 months in New York and came back. I met a loving and caring dude there and he said he loves me and wants to marry me and file for me.

I’m currently in Nigeria, but my US bae has been asking me to come back over to the states so we can proceed with our marriage plans etc

I have a feeling that the “married” the agent filled in my DS-160 will affect any future plans of my future US based husband to file for me.

Please what can I do
How do I divorce a husband that don’t even exist cry
Yes. It will affect you.
You can't remarry until you are single again.

You can wait till you need to renew your visa and put single. At your interview tell them you put married because someone advised you to do so.

After that you can get your bf to file for your as wife when he comes to nigeria to marry you.
Let him find what it takes to file immigrant visa for a wife.

Hey 🤠

@Singlefile

1. Dont worry yourself about finding an employment in the USA while you are presently residing In Nigeria. Date-back from 2023, anyone who enters the United States with B1-B2 VISA can now look for jobs upon arrival in the USA and upon your successful employment your employer can definitely do the required change of status paper work for you.

2. In this respect , apply for any B1-B2 VISA routes eg Conference, Seminar, Holiday vacation, Short Training program or Business Visit and upon arrival you can look for any job you like .

3. You may as well apply for F1-VISA in the form of Msc , Phd or MBA or others according to your present academic qualifications. Focus on finding yourself in America first.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the engagement on this thread, its quite educative.

I have a question regarding HMO, my company have us on an international health insurance that covers me and family worldwide and the cost of childbearing and baby is covered 100%.

My question is, if we go for visa interview, will the VO accept the fact the cost of delivery and baby care is covered by HMO or must they want me to provide proof that I can foot the bills?
Provide proof that your insurance covers birth in the US. Provide proof that your employed with that org

Make sure the hospital you select accepts the insurance you have
