I just confirmed from her, she answered "Yes" to the Question of being "physically present in Nigeria" after contacting the guy in the video who told her he also answered Yes when the question prompt came up. That's actually misrepresentation, so I'm starting to see the illegitimacy of this whole process.

That youtube video should be taken down to avoid misleading others. I'll tell her to reach out to the youtuber who posted the video.
Honestly this craze to put stuff on YouTube is damning

So you put evidence on the Internet with your face on how you that you sent your passport across state lines and lied on a visa application that you were IN country.

For everyone else, please DO NOT CARRY anyone's passport across countries if the owner is not traveling with you.

It's illegal o

It doesn't. She sent her passport alongn with her new I-20 and other required documentation, to Nigeria through a friend that was going for vacation.
Ha! That's actually illegal. You're not supposed to carry passports across country borders if you're not the owner
Filling the DS 160 actually requires you to be in the country of the embassy.

She needs to come to Nigeria

I have a close relative who’s scheduled for interview in a few weeks from now on the B1/B2 visa application.
Here’s the question:
1. Person inviting him is a citizen (served the USA govt and retired) hence the paychecks is wats submitted as POF.
But does this relative here still need to submit bank statement as POF? He runs a family business and is a co-signatory to the account(not a salary job)
2. Wat stronger ties can he go along with aside from Land document to show that he’s not gonna overstay?
3. Does he need to go wit medical fitness result? Police character ?
4. Is it expedient to book a round trip flight ahead of the interview date to show you have no plans to overstay?

I’ll like to read responses pls
NB: person goin is a young man
3 and 4 are not required for visit visa
2. None will look at land documents
The interview would be barely 5mins.

Hello house
Please can I collect a letter from my office as a reason to come back after my visit to the US or it doesn't matter
Also, how many months pof is needed to be seen by the consular.
US consular does not require you to submit documents

If you take documents to your interview and they collect it and it's fake or falsified then you're looking at a ban.

I am F4. The email that was sent to me cannot be replied. They just asked that I follow a link and the link wasn’t helpful.
When were you DQd.. documentarily qualified?

You should have contacted the embassy since then.

Can you check the US embassy website for information on immigrant visa.
It may be the same link you were sent. On the site there should an email contact for the embassy.

Just put your case number in the subject line

Then explain in the email.

Honestly though I don't think you can add derivatives after you get interview.
Unless it is a child that unborn as at the time of submitting docs.

Hello gurus in the house. I got an interview date but my situation have changed. I got married and had a baby. How do I add them to my application? It is urgent please!!!!

I have contacted the embassy, was asked to send an email to one address and it was not helpful.

I called usvisapt, was told they don’t have the data of immigrant visas on their platform yet.
Why didn't you reply to the email that sent the interview letter.

Which visa category?

When were you DQ?
Did you get married and have a baby after you submitted docs on the ceac site.

I do not believe you can add derivatives after you're DQd , I honestly doubt it. You can file for them once you get your green card though.
I hope you're not F1 category...

I am currently in the UK working and earning roughly 1800 pounds per month after tax. I am considering doing a PHD in the USA but my greatest fear is how do I cope with a $1500 per month stipend? Can you do additional jobs legally? Here in the UK, one struggles to live comfortably on 1800 pounds due to the current inflation crisis (which is global by the way). Please brethren, help a brother out.

PS: Married with a 13 months old child.
You can also check for any PhD students in the USA student visa thread

Guy no be say I get any info on what he's requesting.
Just look at his post "struggling to live a comfortable live"
Yes he's struggling for his situation.
.his rent is likely 750-1000 . Then you'll pay gas, electricity and council tax separately.Depending on season that can be up to 300 . Then food + household 200-300.
Transport maybe another 100 and more.
Phone bill 30-50 per month. Then they have a baby who will chop plenty money.
With a 1yr old his wife may not be able to work because childcare will take almost all their salary

PS: Married with a 13 months old child.
Surviving on 1500 depends on the rental costs in the state you're going to.
Since your PhD is fully funded then you would likely have restrictions on working and how many hours. To get funding you might have teaching or research requirements on campus.

Pls find out how many hours you can work as a PhD and the restrictions.

Then if you move with your wife and kids you need to know your wife can not legally work on F2 visa so unless she changes status and becomes an F1 student as well then at least that can be added in come.

$1500 is small however if your rent is $600 per month for 1bed flat then, other expenses are typically not to high.
Remember your wife can change status from F2 to F1 in the US. And in looking for schools she can pick part time and community colleges whose fees are way cheaper and flexible. With this she can get part time work to help the family.

You'll be fine

Take note pks
Just to be clear

The reasons highlighted are NOT refusals, the applicants will need to provide those documents to the embassy then their case will be decided on.

I had to provide documents as well at the time of my interview, It took me about one month plus to get the documents and submit to embassy through DHL

The main reason for refusal is if they doubt the relationship and you dont have valid documents to prove it or if you provided false information.

Is someone really choosing an ESUT state government sponsored scholarship over a US PhD full funded scholarship if I were to get one?

Can you elaborate more why so I'll be on same stage as you?
But you have not gotten any fully funded Phd.
You already said youve applied to at least 7 and no positive result.
You're complaining about 500k for US application? Just your flight to and fro Abuja or Lagos is 300k, visa 300k, you'll still pay foe evaluation and SEVIS fee plus flight ticket.

So go for your MSc that is funded. And as you said enter the EE pool and wait it out . MSc is max 2 years. Get part time work and save some cash towards your goal.
Pace yourself. Phd is not running away.

Thank you so much for your response. I did drop box and when I got my passport back from OIS that’s when I saw the letter telling me to come in for fingerprinting. So I really didn’t know what that meant and what the outcomes will be.
They want to be certain you're actually in the country and they probably have a few questions.

You might also want to thunk about your last visit in case questions about that cone up.

Morning all, could someone please suggest a cure for eczema and itchy skin for a 3-year-old girl based on past experience, please?

She's had eczema since she was 1 year old, initially appearing only on both knees. We've been using Aveeno cream since then, but it got worse this year when it started appearing all over her body. We took her to the GP, and she prescribed a steroid. It clears it away temporarily, but it comes back even more after withdrawing the steroids.

She keeps waking up during the night due to itching and can sometimes take 1 to 2 hours before she falls back asleep. As a result of the scratching, we also can't sleep until she sleeps.

She's not always in a good mood during the day as she spends lots of time scratching all over her body.

She's been sent back home a couple of times from nursery due to that.

List of stuff we've used: Aveeno, Zerobase, Hydromol, Epimax, Dermol lotion for bathing, steroid cream, Piriton for itching (this makes her too sleepy).
People have given good suggestions
Hard water is a trigger
Vit D is good too

Then mix Vaseline with the Body cream
Vegetable glycerin with body cream as well

She needs this daily.

Id not continue with the steroids for now

Good morning guys,

Do I have to go to Nigeria to marry my English boyfriend or we can just do a court marriage here and plan our trip to Nigeria for my traditional marriage? I’m on student visa and my visa finishes December this year and I will be applying for my postgraduate visa sometime in December too

One more thing he said if I have worked with any company for a year and I get pregnant they will give me maternity leave and will be paying me while on leave. I want to confirm from you people if this is true I thought this works only if one is working with NHS

Please I need answers as I want to put all my energy in getting a job (not agency) and work with them for a year before considering getting pregnant so I can benefit from the maternity leave

Thank you guys
You can do court marriage in the Uk, the trad in Nigeria.

About rhe maternity, in most places you are entitled to maternity leave. The length and how many months are paid maternity leave will depend on the organisation

Hi guys.
I’m a single guy of 31yrs old and getting married December. I want to plan a honeymoon trip to the uk with my partner but she has never been anywhere before.
She started working in a company 3 months ago earning 1m and has a registered fashion business on the side. Does she stand a chance applying with me ? Since we are not married yet.
I have traveled extensively. I have been to uk, Dubai , 3 Schengen countries, USA , and I also have Canada visa too. I have a business with 30-40m monthly inflow. Just trying to figure out our relationship when we apply together.
You are not married.

Single

Add invites and provide details of your
wedding, plans for honeymoon vacation.like an itinerary of what you both intend to do

There is a portion at the end of the application that lets you add additional information. So write out your wedding and honeymoon plans

How far?
You might need to check your spam. Did you get an email from the embassy.

You might need to sign up on the new us visa appointment website and raise a ticket snd sttach the document to show you were to pick up your passports.
Since DHL no longer does pickups then your passport maybe back at the embassy.

How's your mum

Canada 8 years and US 5 years.
I am only applying for my wife to follow me on vacation.

Is there anywhere in the application that you can indicate that you are both going on vacation and that you already have your visa.

Hello good evening all,

Pls I crave your indulgence with this lengthy read, God bless you as help proffer any solutions that may be of help as I don’t know how to navigate this situation.

My sister and I are currently studying at a uni here on the same course. In our first year, unknown to us, we didn’t know that the uni had a 10% family discount available to people who have an immediate family member currently studying at the uni or who are alumni of the uni.

This discount is available for each year of your study at the uni. That means 10% on every year tuition you have to pay.

In our first year, the financial challenges were so tough, that we and our mum wrote to school pleading for any assistance or concessions that can be made to help our situation as it’s just our mum singlehandedly seeing both of us through school. The school only responded to us in those days with deadlines and threats of withdrawal. Eventually, my sister got withdrawn.

However, We were able to tender proof of our extenuating circumstance and how past payments were yet to be acknowledged in emails about my sister’s outstanding balance. Thankfully, she was reinstated and we were able to clear all outstanding balance.

Now, in our second year, a classmate randomly asked if we know about a family discount and she’s sure my sister and I are eligible for. I checked it and lo and behold, it was true! I read the discount policy to ensure there wasn’t any deadline to claiming discounts and for other details. Then I sent an email to school asking if they can kindly apply the discount in our first year to our second year fees or do us a refund of excesses paid in our first year.

However they have just responded saying they can’t give refunds or a retrospective discount. They also even further said they can’t give us the 10% in our second year and will instead split it into 5% between us.

This goes against the discount policy which was outlined in the Fees policy of their website. Here, it clearly states that students who have family members currently studying in the uni or who are alumni of the uni get a 10% discount on each year of their study. It also doesn’t mention any deadline to claim this discount.

Please what can I do in this situation?
You might be reading the discount wrong.
It would be 10% for the sibling not per head.

However I do think you might have a case for retroactive discounts because I'm surprised they didn't mention the discount when you were both enrolled in first year.
Especially if the university knew you were siblings.

But if they are will to apply retroactive discount on you 3rd yr then take it.

Depends on the grounds for asylum.

Good Evening Everyone

I was denied visitor Visa to Canada
I used an Agent to apply
When he wanted to apply for me he asked for only the front data page of my passport
He was delaying, I did my biometrics Feb 24th 2024 so I requested for GCMS note through a family friend in Canada. Saw that I was denied July 21st. The Agent used all wrong information for me, my mother name and age was wrong, my daddy name and age was wrong, the university I attended was wrong. All personal details was wrong. And now I am processing US university and fortunately I have secured PI in USA university. I know Canada and USA share information. So the question is what do you advise I can do?? Thank you
You'll be fine.. apply for your student visa

Most of these details that he put that were wrong won't be required in your application for student visa.

However do not lie and fill yes to have you been denied Canada visa
