PoliticsRe: Rivers Govt Replies Okonji-iweala On Missing $5B From Excess Crude Account by takedat(m):
lincolnj88: grin Ameachi a$$ must be boiling seeing lamido a$$ on fire... grin

@topic ameachi is becoming dumb....

He confirmed that he received 53billion naira...

The money he said was statutory allocation of the state from the federation account.....

there was shortfall in revenue there by the federation account was funded from the excess crude account ,there go d $5billion and he was a party to it including the remaining govt...

Ok he claimed that the federation account was funded by Oil and tax revenue ... And Oil accounting for 90% ....was he not aware of the crude theft, how come d federation was able to Fund its account with Oil revenue ,when we have 56% of Oil theft.....and d nation loss $89 billion to crude Oil theft..........

So is ameachi telling us dat despite d crude Oil theft nigeria got more than a enough to Fund the federation account.....if so why did ngf chaired by him point to the Eca account, advising fg to Fund the revenue shortfalls......and set up commitee headed by uduaghan to check crude Oil theft.....

I trust noi , she will soon fire ameachi a$$ grin
I thought you read where he said at no time did he attend a meeting where a $5billion deduction from the ECA was discussed? You have to produce your proof that he 'was a party' to it. The ECA belongs to the Federation, and so, the FG cannot unilaterally deduct money from the account to share among the three tiers of Government without all the parties agreeing to it.

You claim we are losing 56% of our daily crude oil production to oil theft? This is contrary to the FG's claim. Moreover, is it not silly for you to refer to Amaechi as dumb when the blame on crude on theft rests solely at the feet of the FG? Are you not ashamed while trying to defend the FG to state that we've lost a whooping $89billion to oil theft in less than a year? Isn't that more than our 2013 National budget? You mean we are losing close to 1.4million barrels(56% of the projected daily production of 2.5million barrels) a day to oil theft? You are quoting fictitious figures to feel intelligent, huh? Dumbo!!!

He said the only time they requested for deduction, the amount involved was $1billion. Is $1billion same as $5billion? The answer to all these problems is resource control, there is so much secrecy in the management of our resources through this feeding bottle federalism.

These are the type of questions every Nigerian must ask and demand answers for, from the managers of our economy.

taharqa: By d way, Punch has since been bought over by d Master Thief himself, Tinubu, and it is no surprise it must now bark to the call of its new masters. The Punch of yteryears, that Newspaper that was my personal NO 1 choice and those of so many persons, cos of its famed Sense of Balance, is long dead and buried. What is left is only a dim shadow of its wonderful past; and even that dims everyday.. Their former Editorial chair must be turning in his graves right now
Keep deceiving yourself. When Punch, Premium Times or Sahara Reporters report news that are unfavorable to the opposition or enemies of GEJ, you folks are always quick to visit those sites and bring such news to Nairaland but you are quick to demonize them when they critic this administration. I am sure to of you, your day is never complete without visiting those sites to read their news. You folks accuse them as SW media when nobody is stoping you from establishing your own media houses. You folks are only interested in what NTA and FRCN reports.

taharqa: @take dat, don't act DUMB cos you are trying hard to push a lame point across, abeg. You are usuali better than this... The quote you just gave only indicated that d Customs Boss was agree over the lost of revenue that it collects, just as NOI said in this rebuttal, not that d Scheme has made 'corruption and fiscal indiscipline to sink to abysmal levels'. That part was the lame addition of d now 'bought' Punch Editorial team, and not those of d Customs Boss. It is deceitful to pass both parts as ideas of d Customs Boss when a part of it came from Punch Board. Very deceitful. Moreova, NOI grust with d Editorial was not d criticism that some Collectible Revenues were been lost (infact, she clearly made d point about perpetual economic 'contest' between choice of Short-term Revenue lost and Long-term Industrial development for a developing country); he grust was with d Editorial team's blanket dismissal of d new Sector-specific Waiver approach as 'corrupt and fiscally indiscipline'... And one has got to wonder: which of d two approaches (Sector-specific Or Individual-specific) reduces or increases the chances of Corruption, Fiscal Indiscipline and Political patronage?? Its common sense; but then again, how common is sense in today's Politically-corrupt Nigeria??
and you expect me to take you seriously above the editorial team of Punch when I know your duty is always to defend all that is good and bad in Government? Isn't this how you folks always try to demonize anyone who critic the Government of GEJ? I am sure you do not have basic comprehension problems, go back to re-read the said editorial. Punch editorial is about dubious waivers and the amount Nigeria is losing to that. Are you telling me that the scheme is 100% corruption-proof? The questions NOI should answer instead of this manufactured hogwash are;

Did Nigeria lose N264billion to waivers on petroleum product imports or not?

Did Nigeria lose N603billion to import duty waivers, concessions and import substitution schemes?

Are you telling us that most of the waivers granted were not patronage driven? Are these allegations not of fiscal profligacy? Nigeria is losing money to some economic terrorists in and outside of government, and she is here picking up a fight with Punch without tackling the main issue. Economic Terrorism!

PoliticsRe: Okonjo-iweala Slams Punch Newspaper Over ‘malicious, Defamatory’ Editorial! by takedat(m):
Hogwash! NOI is incapable of ever accepting her little failings and intolerant of receiving knocks from analysts or criticism from the media. Criticism is the grist of Democracy. Punch's editorial was premised on the submission of the Comptroller General of Customs. I am sure the posters above me did not read the editorial published by Punch before the ethnic solidarity.

"The Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko, had stunned a Senate joint-committee that by September, the nation had lost N603 billion to import duty waivers, exemption of levies, concessions and import substitution schemes. Of this amount, N264 billion was lost to waivers on petroleum products import and N76 billion to manufacturers and assembly plants. Corruption and fiscal indiscipline have obviously sunk to an unacceptable level. Even more stunning was the feeble attempt by Okonjo-Iweala to defend the reckless abuse of waivers and other incentives as policies designed to help certain sectors and generate jobs."

taharqa: Actuali, an Actual Report from d World Bank early this yr indicated that Poverty Rate DECREASED in Nigeria from 48% to 46% bw 2011 and 2012. This woman shld tell simply us how she got to her conclusions....@bold2, EOM
Come to think of it, according to the government own National Bureau of Statistics(NBS), poverty rate stood at 69% in 2010 and 93.9% Nigerians considered themselves to be poor.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/02/93-9-nigerians-considered-themselves-to-be-poor-nbs/

Even if poverty has reduced from 2010 to 2013 it can't be more than 10%(this is an inflated assumption, in fact poverty may have increased during this period rather than decline)
, poverty rate should be between 59% and 60% and if we assume our population is between 165million to 167million, then the 100million poverty claim may be right.

"The National Bureau of Statistics had in February 2012 released figures that showed the nation's poverty level was on the increase. According to the Statistician-General of the Federation, Dr. Yemi Kale, at the time, about '112million Nigerians( or 67.1 percent of the country's total population of 167million) lived below poverty level- that is living below US$1.00-US$1.25 per day."

http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/issues-in-the-new-poverty-report/137011/

"Before we put the systems in place, we must at the same emphatically understand the plight of the 'over 70 million people' living in abject poverty in the country." -CBN Governor

http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/why-nigeria-is-still-poor-by-cbn-gov/162594/

The figures from the office of the Statistician-General of the Federation(NBS) and CBN Governor(CBN) gives credence to World Bank's claim.

Sincere 9gerian: @Take dat..., see above the EXACT words of Prof Jega on the Anambra election.
Umeh said the conduct was 'excellent' while Jega said an INEC staff 'messed up' the conduct of the election. What are the election monitors/observers saying? That the conduct was below expectation!
PoliticsRe: Chief Umeh Expose How APC Sabotage Anambra Elections by takedat(m):
Sincere 9gerian: Stop spreading lies and falsehood. Lets stay with the FACTS.

First the names mentioned by Victor Umeh were not those youth corpers or adhoc staff. These were senior people in INEC who were supposed to oversee that particular local govt. Youth corpers only work at polling units.

Secondly, Prof Jega Never said the Anambra election was below average. He only said the election was messed up in a particular local govt (ie one local govt). Anambra state has 21 local govts.

As for the issue of sharing money at polling boots, all the political parties are guilty of this. Usually, the party big wigs in localities where polling boots are located do what they can to deliver their polling units. Since they cannot snatch ballot box, falsify results, engage in massive thumb printing, etc they resort to vote buying. Lets be sincere for once, is sharing of money or vote buying not a lesser "sin" compared to ballot box snatching, ballot box stuffing, massive thumb printing or falsification of results that we used to see in the past? In the case of sharing money at the polling boots, atleast in end, the voter still has the opportunity to vote his conscience even after the collecting the money. But like I said earlier, all the political parties are guilty of sharing money at polling boots.

Meanwhile, Arthur Eze was only being silly. I dont know why you guys are taking him seriously.
You are a bloody liar, the INEC spokesman confirmed those three to be corp members. You need to remove the wool from your ears. I hope channels TV will put the INEC's spokesman interview on youtube or their website for all to see and hear, and to know you for the liar that you are. Always let 'FACTS' prevail over 'LOYALTY'. Maope specifically asked the INEC spokesman to confirm or denial Umeh's allegation. Umeh lied against some persons children, how pathetic!!!

"In an interview Sunday, Attahiru Jega, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said he was convinced the official purposely hijacked the election in 'some local governments', leading to a reschedule.

http://m.allafrica.com/stories/201311190997.html/

A bungled election in a local election is enough to taint the credibility of the general election. That was why Jega admitted the election was 'messed up'. The invalidated votes did not come from Idemilli alone, even though it has the highest.

Didn't Umeh deny that his party agents distributed cash for vote on TV? Well, I know it is a common practice but you have to admit that he lied.

You need to desist from this grand delusion that Yorubas are particularly interested in what goes on in the East. Nairaland is far distinct from reality.

PoliticsRe: Chief Umeh Expose How APC Sabotage Anambra Elections by takedat(m):
^Bros, if you know you are going to give account to your Creator one day, desist from your mischievous ways.

What facts did Umeh expose? That he mentioned names of 3 SW youth corp members posted to Idemilli for their service year( at least this was confirmed by the INEC spokesman who was the guest after Umeh left)? Umeh never for once during the course of the interview mentioned the name of Mr. Okeke, the Electoral Officer in charge of the local government, whom Jega accused of sabotaging the election, but because those 3 corp members who were mere 'adhoc staff' are Yorubas, Mr Umeh accused them of being behind the sabotage.

I am sure you saw how 'Maope' lashed at him for trying to play ethnic politics and they went through the list brought by Umeh and saw that the list contained names of Nigerians of different ethnic nationalities.

Umeh said those three corp members were specifically placed in Idemilli by APC, while the INEC spokesman denied the accusation.

I have to ask you these questions;

Are all Yoruba's members of APC?

Those 3 Yorubas have neither been found wanting nor arrested by the Police. How would their parents feel watching the TV and hear Mr. Umeh name and accuse their children who have been posted to Serve their father land as electoral offenders? Is it because they are Yorubas?

Mr. Arthur Eze also played this bitter politics of 'Awolowo's people'. Are all Awolowo's people members of APC.

Don't we have some Northern states controlled by APC, why should any allegation be directed at the Yorubas?

Why can't the Police force Mr Okeke to release the names of his collaborators, after all, they never carried out any investigation before parading some accredited civil society members as suspected thugs and APC members just because they are from the South West.

Tony, one of the Channels TV crew said he was present during the election and he saw APGA agents distribute cash for votes. What was Umeh response?

Umeh claimed election materials arrived in all the polling units on time except Idemilli, and the channels TV crew told him that was far from the truth.

Umeh said the conduct of the election was excellent, contrary to Jega's view that the conduct was below expectation("messed up"wink.

Umeh kept on harping on APC this and that even after Channels played him a clip that the other major candidates also expressed the same view as Ngige

I am seething with rage. Got to stop here

This is the third time in the last two years that the PDP has abandoned and orphaned its candidates to support an opposition. It started with Olusola Oke, the PDP flagbearer in the Ondo State election, then, Airhiavbere the Party's candidate in Edo State and now Tony Nwoye. Isn't a party morally obligated to support her candidate, especially as the party's flagbearer was disenfranchised? Why are some members of the party being ostracized(Amaechi and co) for anti-party activities when the National leadership of the party is also guilty of doing the same? Well, Nigeria's political parties(sorry, associations with no democratic norms) are all morally bankrupt.

If you were asked to choose between Soludo and Obiano, who would you have gone for? Obiano was first black chief internal auditor agreed, it is also no mean feat to become a CBN Governor.
