Dj zzyzx: sources confirm that PDP and APGA agents giving money to voters this minute. N1000 and N2000 respectively at Ward 4 PU 4 Nteje.Na highest bidder ![]() |
If the story about his arrest despite being a registered party election observer is true, it is a clear violation of his rights as guaranteed by the constitution. Political parties are allowed to have observers/monitors, they are also allowed to have or operate 'Situation Rooms' to monitor the election. Definitely if he is a registered party observer, he will have to move from his hotel room to wherever the Situation Rooms are sited. We all may not like El-Rufai, but it is important that we must always speak out against Police harassment on any citizen, anyone of us may be the next victim if such impunity is allowed to carry on. |
eGuerrilla: Some drama playing on the ground, it seemsAccording to those in AIT's studio, the security agent erased the audio recording and deleted the video from the phones of their correspondent. There is another AIT report that the Police last night arrested the corp members(electoral officers) sent to Idemilli and another local government, so accreditation was delayed. |
Nigeria’s Gestapo-esque Police, SSS arrests Nasir El-Rufai opposition politician Reports from Nigeria’s South Eastern State of Anambra has it that the State Security Service has held down one of the main opposition leaders Nasir ERufai who is of the All Progressives Congress. El-Rufai has always been critical of the government and has had a history of arrests with the SSS. While elections are currently on-going in the said Anambra, the reason behind this particular arrest are unclear but there are indications the order is from the Nigerian Presidency. The arrest has since been confirmed by the country’s biggest newspaper platform, The Punch. Nasir El-Rufai is a registered observer of the elections on behalf of his party the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is currently held at his hotel. http://omojuwa.com/2013/11/nigerias-gestapo-esque-police-sss-arrests-nasir-el-rufai-opposition-politician/ |
karl max: Lagosians are aware of the fraud called lagos state government and all their media propoganda!!!come 2015 we would boot dem out of power!! They can continue their propoganda on the internet and the pages of newspaper but the electorates are wiser nowHypocrite, you are always quick to condemn Sahara Reporters if the site highlight Jonathan's misdeeds but of course this is cheering news to you. I support the blaming and shaming of politicians, be it Fashola or any one else. We are all victims to their arrogance and mis-governance. A road was abandoned for a long time but hurriedly tarred in order to grandstand. If na Jonathan visit, I am sure Debo Adeniran and his CACOL crew would have done same to him(though I am not in support of blocking the road to prevent constituted authorities passage, but I support heckling them). Didn't you folks declare that these activists are on the pay-roll of LASG? |
Family of thieves Their action bespeaks of an extraordinary, nay a congenital proclivity to steal! Anti-Graft fight must target all, and not just against those who have fallen out with the system. |
Sheeple: The guns belong to fellow Igbos. But can Gbawe/take-dat, ballabriggs, donroxy and all the other APC political jobbers tell us why their stupid APC (more like armoured personnel carrier) is trying to destroy the lives of poor Yoruba folks by using them in an irrelevant election that has no bearing on the scheme of things? And you've conducted investigations and concluded that those folks are Yorubas and that they are APC members Because some corrupt ethnic gangs and tacky sociopaths who are out to make cheap political gain have concluded even before investigation that those arrested are Yorubas and members of APC, you just had to join in their feast of folly. You are just a mindless zombie who is incapable of thinking analytically. An empty shell had to register a new account just to spew a truck-load of garbage without the slightest trace of self-awareness. Mind you Gbawe is not Take Dat! I agree with you are APC, PDP, LP and APGA are all criminal enterprise, any of them could be involved. |
gregg2: OPWhat have we learned from the 'masters of the game'? -Diversionary and Damning campaign instead of an Issue-based campaign. It is devoid of sound ideological underpinning, policies and programmes . -Politicization of ethnic identities. -Shallow Politics. I cannot reconcile how the ownership of 50% of private jets in Nigeria, is in tandem with the aspirations of most Anambrarians. -Hate speech from vile purveyors of falsehood and ethnic rabble-rousers, and ethnic panderers dispensing a heavy dosage of bigotry. |
berem: Some nitwits will soon come on this thread and tell me Buhari lack manners in giving out speech and only incite violence with his speeches. Are the comments made by these PDP buffons not a way of inciting violence on the election day and causing hatred to other ethnic groups?Lady Berem, are you surprised? Welcome to Nigeria, hypocrisy rules around here! |
abagoro: “From what Arthur Eze said, we (him and the gubernatorial candidate) have similar background: attended primary school without wearing slippers,” Mr. Jonathan said.Regaling us with meaningless tales of poor upbringing. How does it translate to Compassion? We still have many children who attend schools with no shoes/slippers because of the pervasive poverty in the land. Children who are shackled and fettered to the bondage of poverty, lack of basic necessities of life, and with no hope of breaking the chains of poverty yet we claim to have a Government in place. "That short man called Ngige, we gave him power and he went and joined Awolowo's people; the people that killed the Igbos." I can't believe the President(who should be a unifying figure) was seated while Mr Eze dispensed this heavy dose of bigotry, and he did not explicitly repudiate the load of garbage spewed by this ethnic panderer and vile purveyor of hate. Jonathan is a divisive President. |
Ayekotoo: He said, “There is no doubt that the Jonathan Presidency is effectively the first Internet-age presidency that Nigerians have had. The Internet didn’t start in his time, you know. This reality could not be further from the truth. I believe him, there are more internet users in his time because of the internet growth(not by any of his making) than his predecessors. Jonathan is 'Effectively' the first internet-age Nigerian president. Wanton criticism or selective criticism is unhealthy. Criticism is part of governance, it may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things. Calling the critics of the President, who is the President to all, including his haters as “Sadists, Psychopaths, mischief-makers and Luciferian characters" is idiocy at its best and a remarkable display of government stupidity. Some of those people are tax-payers and law abiding citizens who are merely exercising and expressing their civic right. Obama gets criticize all the time from different quarters, from the armchair quarterbacks, fervent critics, the opposition, the brownshirts who despise him because of his skin color, members of the US Congress who have dedicated the rest of their lives to oppose any thing Obama support and so on, but you'd never hear or see a government spokesperson paid from the public purse call or refer to them as 'Sadists, Psychopaths or Luciferian characters' or brand them as 'enemies of the State'. Abati is trying to encourage a culture of concordance, feeblemindedness, bootlicking and Yes-Sir-ism. |
theoctopus: You are wasting your precious time on her. It is all about politics for them. Not about Nigeria. They dont care. Takedat does not care. She is just doing everything in her power to make sure Tinubu some how finds his way to aso rock to continue his evil and wicked concessioning of the masses just like you have in Lagos state. They are all evil criminals.@Lastpope, is this you? You are the only deluded dolt I know, who believe I am a 'She'(no offense to the female gender). You can blurt out whatever imbecillic ramblings that pass for thought in your mind since you've taken it upon yourself to make obnoxious public display of idiocy. To hell with Tinubu and mendicants who forage for daily bread by praise singing thieving politicians (Agutan mi o je labe e geesi, ise Oluwa to mi i je ). |
taharqa: Which Agreement? Are you not reading the d comments of d guy you are responding to? @take dat, hv you read that Agreement? Does it makes complete sense to you? How do you fulfill an Agreement that is innately flawed?? That I think, is d main contention of the person you are responding to..And during that period, government couldn't commence a re-negotiation but had to wait until the association embarked on strike? An act of irresponsibility. If government had made them see reasons and tabled this offer of N1.1trillion long ago together with prompt payment of their working allowances, would they have embarked on a strike? I insist that you guys should stop portraying government as the victim! No matter how ridiculous the agreement is, it was government who signed it and government is a continuum. |
Sincere 9gerian: Dont you get it? ASUU uses strike to blackmail and pressure govt into signing ridiculous and un-implementable agreements. Yar Adua signed that agreement in 2009 just to get ASUU off his back, even if momentarily. The same thing is happening again. After 4 months strike, govt has been forced to make new concessions, even if just to make the ASUU call off the strike momentarily. Its been like that since the late 70s. So the cycle of madness continues. Why should government wait for a strike action before fulfilling her obligation? Before ASUU embarked on strike, 54 letters had been sent to the FG, reminding the government on the said agreement and her lackadaisical attitude towards the implementation of the agreement yet the government never bothered to reach out to them. A Strike action to them happened to be the last resort. You can only use crude tactics to pressurize an irresponsible government. |
Sincere 9gerian: I dont care about what Tinubu dogs think about me. I am simply expressing my opinion. If my opinion runs contrary to the wishes of your master, Tinubu, I have no apologies for that.Idiocy has taken over common sense. |
Sincere 9gerian: I should have known you'r one of those lazy, unpatriotic, corrupt bunch, who call themselves ASUU. ASUU has been going on strike since the late 70s but what has changed? Only fools keep doing the same thing while expecting different result. Yeye!Your master was one of them before he joined the looting political class, and stumbled upon sudden and unaccountable wealth. He has expanded his appetite through corruption. If ASUU did not embark on strike, would Government dangle the new offer of N1.1trillion to the universities, 4 years after signing an agreement? Why did government wait for ASUU to embark on strike, before it occurred to them that there is an urgent need to inject more funds into the university system? Would Jonathan and the other ruling class wait for 4 years before receiving their earned allowance(s)? I honestly believe ASUU should soften on her demands, and call off the strike solely because of the plight of the parents and students and not because of some irresponsible crooks in government who went ahead to sign an agreement, only to renege later and started acting like they are the real victim. I see you referencing the UK lecturers! Is the UK government as irresponsible as that of ours? You can only use crude tactics to deal with an irresponsible government. |
Sincere 9gerian: The President in Jan 2012 wanted to cut-off the head of corruption and remove ALL forms of corruption in the fuel subsidy scheme by completely removing the subsidy but what did we see? Children of anger, Tinubu dogs and vultures trooped to the streets in protests. So all those who protested are children of anger, and Tinubu's dogs and vultures? You are gradually becoming a dangerous lunatic! The declaration isn't about fuel subsidy alone, it also include crude oil deals but I am sure you didn't bother to read it before this spectacular display of idiocy! Pin-headed rabble rouser You can as well continue to blame Nigerians for the rapacious plunder and mismanagement of our resources because its your job to defend Jonathan and Friends! Government subsidized petroleum product isn't a bad thing, "if thoroughly planned, well-managed and corruption-proofed, and as a stopgap measure pending when genuine investors are brought in. Dangote recently signed an agreement to build a refinery, even after GEJ made building of government-owned refineries as a campaign promise and reneged on it, and you people said investors won't be coming in because the downstream petroleum sector isn't deregulated. The crude oil and fuel subsidy thieves majestically parade the halls of the Villa without fear of arrest and prosecution, and you are busy blaming the victims of the monumental robbery going on. You are a hapless serf and a dishonest crook! |
Sincere 9gerian: How are we sure that these mostly greedy, selfish, corrupt and wicked ASUU leaders conveyed exactly what the president presented to their members? How are we sure they did not dilute the proposal or build in their own self-serving agenda?Employ new lecturers like, You? A Mere certificate flasher? An inexperience medical doctor turn self-appointed government spokesperson who probably think leeches can cure headache, and chlorofoam is still used as an anasthetic At a time when we are experiencing huge brain drain, we should just discard the few tested hands we've got and employ untested ones? We should discard the few qualified professors that we have and employ those with masters degree or mere certificate flashers as their replacement? Isn't Jonathan also greedy, selfish, corrupt and wicked? You think just because you are innately dishonest, every other person must always exhibit such trait? Why not wait for their final resolution before polluting everywhere with your drivel? |
eGuerrilla: Indeed take dat.The cloud of corruption surrounding the 'share-the-booty, sweetheart oil deals' did not just unfold. There is a cancer of corruption in the country, and the primary malignant tumor is centered in the Villa. |
Duh! Empty Bravado! Is he not a party to the bonanza of corruption in favor of stooges? Comedy and drama in a trivial demonstration of cluelessness and emptiness. |
taharqa: @Sincere9jeria, I reali need to pass across an important info to you. How do I contact you? Any mails?? Pretty important...Una dey plan coup abi? ![]() |
The Vile purveyors of political agenda using multiple ID's to comment. Labaran Maku's propaganda team! |
Now I see why ASUU does not completely trust the Government. This alleged WAEC certificate forger and disseminator of unadulterated falsehood claim N100billion has been shared, even though It is public knowledge that the universities are yet to receive a kobo from the N100billion. Government sponsored propaganda is not helping matters at all. Unfortunately, the propaganda is being spewed by those who have no modicum of integrity. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/10/ASUU-strike-re-yet-receive-n100bn-fg-vcs/ A thief would always think that every other person is a thief. Since every thing to politicians is all about politics, it is commonplace to hear politicians imbecillic rants, ascribing their failings or stupidity as 'politically motivated'. Na opposition sign the agreement? All the members of ASUU are united in pushing for the implementation of the 2009 agreement, including those from the President's region and Federal University Otuoke! The greedy crooks in Government should stop playing the 'Victim', and ASUU should consider the plight of both parents and students who are the real victims. |
Now I know why Nigerian women suffer from psychological and emotional torture. Many of them making up excuses for Chime. The truth is the lady wants out of the relationship, but she is being threatened by Chime and pressured by her siblings to remain with Chime. I'll urge you all to re-read her letter that was published by SR. In the letter, she complained that she has been deprived of sex for 4 years. That whenever she wants to leave the relationship, Chime threatens to disown her child. That her siblings out of greed prefer to see her die as first lady than leave the Government house. Shior. Na dem sabi. |
taharqa: Abeg, SHUT ya mouth tha @takedat. You increasingly getting closer to dem hypocrite these days. GEJ is 'allowing looting to continue in d oil sector', ko?? The same GEJ that put his political line on d line in other to completely remove d Fraud that is called 'Oil Subsidy' (and is still paying d political cost till today), and was vehemently opposed by many Nigerians (including me, I must add). You do know that this Report is bw d period 2009-2011, and virtuali all of d Nigerian partners are bn prosecuted in courts today. GEJ allows 'looting to continue' yet NEITI was this year recognised by EITI as d Most effective Oil/Mining Transperancy Agency in the whole world; this is a Federal agency under GEJ, the same Agency that were almost kicked out by EITI in 2010 for not undaking any Comprehensive Oil Sector Audit since it was formed in 2005 (all d 3 Comprehensive Audits they hv done both in d Oil and Solid Mineral Sectors hv been unda GEJ who gave them a complete freehand to do them, a fact EITI acknowledged this yr)..... By d way, where are those shameless NOISEMAKERS who were shouting on d top of their voices about d PIB Bill b4 GEJ sent it to d NA, touting it as d most Comprehensive 'cure' to d humegeous corruption in d Oil industry (and it is d 'cure')?? They hv all bn completely Silent for more than a year now cos GEJ had sent d Bill since July last year and d NA hv bn siting on it FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER, abi? because GEJ cannot be criticized in this instance again, Silence; none of those NOISEMAKERS care whether that extremely critical bill is passed or not!! 'Anti-Corruption' campaigns only matters these days to the extent that sm People can smhow get at ONE MAN. We will all see where that wud leave us...Bros, I'll overlook your first 2 lines by not giving you an appropriate reply cos say na you. Warning Sign :8 ![]() I read your defense and it can be categorized into "total nonsense, silly excuses and half truths". Oil subsidy is not a bad thing, rather Government's incompetence and mismanagement gave room for fraudulent practice in the subsidy regime. Wasn't it under GEJ's administration, that over N2trillion was mismanaged? You claim virtually all those involved in the scam are being prosecuted in court? The Imokhuede report indicted Total, Sahara Energy, MRS, Rahamaniyya and co. I am sure none of these companies are currently being prosecuted in court. These companies and others were asked to reimburse over N200billion all together, but the last we heard from NOI was that only N12billion or N14b had been recovered, almost two years after. Unfortunately, most of these indicted companies are still the ones importing fuel. How many cases have been successfully prosecuted, and how many are in jail? Trust you to blame the Judiciary but not EFCC who cannot handle a case effectively. NEITI won an award, and so? NEITI is a coalition of government, companies and civil society working together to improve openness and accountable management of revenue from natural resources, it is not the regulator, rather it is a powerless watchdog. How many of the reports, audits or recommendations of NEITI has Jonathan implemented? NONE. What of the Ribadu's report? Kalu's report? Has he implemented any! NO. Are you trying to tell us that corruption, leakages and so on has abated in NNPC, PPMC and so on? Are you not aware that these fraudulent companies involved in crude oil lifting do not have their backers in government? Are you not aware that these companies are ripping Nigeria off heavily? Where are the thieves who have been stealing our crude oil? Nowhere to be found! Why? Its because the crime is being perpetuated by ghosts or those involved are friends of Jonathan. I am with you on the PIB, even though the report has its own comma. |
Enugu Government House Hostage: I Was Fully Briefed By Mrs Clara Chime, Asserts Femi Falana Human rights advocate Femi Falana has repudiated the claim by the governor of Enugu State, Mr. Sullivan Chime, that he did not receive a brief from his wife to represent her to secure her release from the illegal detention imposed by her husband, the governor. “I wish to say, without any fear of contradiction, that I have her instructions in writing to challenge her illegal detention at the Government House, Enugu,” he declared in a statement on Wednesday. “Through the assistance of some of the security personnel in the Government House she has since spoken to me on phone to confirm her instructions. Indeed, Mrs Chime's mother and her personal physician have also been in touch with me urging me to take all appropriate measures to secure her freedom from Governor Chime's illegal confinement.” Beyond that, Mr. Falana pointed out that contrary to the governor’s diversionary statement, he does not need the instructions of citizens who are illegally detained to demand for their release. “Without any instructions I am duty bound to file cases in court to secure the enforcement of the fundamental rights of detainees to personal liberty. For the avoidance of doubt, the doctrine of locus standi in the area of human rights has been abolished by the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules 2009 which came into force on December 1, 2009,” he said. Mr. Falana noted that at the press conference Governor Chime succeeded in confirming the allegation that he has held his wife in illegal custody but attempted to justify the illegality by alleging that his wife has "a medical challenge". Said the statement: “When Governor Chime was recently medically challenged he was not subjected to solitary confinement in the Government House but flown abroad for adequate medical treatment,” the lawyer said. “But Mr Chime has conspired with his private physicians to sentence his wife to unwarranted mental torture and psychological trauma in a room in the Government House for the past four months. If Mr. Chime's claim is correct that the wife is non compos mentis, when was the Enugu Government House converted to a psychiatric hospital? “Having confirmed the allegation that he has willfully infringed the fundamental rights of his wife to personal liberty, dignity of the person and freedom of movement Governor Chime should release his wife from illegal custody [and] be warned not to divert attention from the brutal abuse of the rights of his wife. If he and his doctors are convinced that she is medically challenged they should send her to a hospital for quick recovery!” Mr. Falana thanked the Director-General of the State Security Service who, he said, has directed the security service personnel attached to the Government House to desist from teaming up with the Governor to hold his wife hostage. http://mobile.saharareporters.com/news-page/enugu-government-house-hostage-i-was-fully-briefed-mrs-clara-chime-asserts-femi-falana |
Oshiite: Like i said earlier, the brother is acting like he is the sibling who would rather see her dead than to leave that exalted positionYeah, you are right. She wrote in the letter that was published by Sahara Reporters that "3 of her siblings would rather prefer her dead than leave the Government house". I'm sure Mr. Tony Igwe is one of them. |

Good submission! The outcome should be subjected to a referendum. I am particularly worried with these past-masters, and senescent septuagenarians and octogenarians holding various meetings to define and determine the future of Nigeria. I believe the proposed dialogue should be all about the future of Nigeria, and should be populated by Youths and not some old geeps who in a way or another benefited from a decayed Nigeria. The Youth should set the tone and agenda for the dialogue. Nigeria Youths are sleeping! ![]() "We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future."~ Franklin Roosevelt |
I am amazed by the level of stupidity both Tinubu and Metuh are willing to put on public display. How many of such hospitals did Tinubu build in Lagos during his time as the executive Governor? Metuh listed achievements of Jonathan's administration in the health sector, but do they(Jonathan and other PDP top shots) patronize these hospitals? Jonathan, Tinubu, Metuh and other thieving political elites are quick to board the next flight out of the country for mere medical check-up, because they know our hospitals are not delivering praise worthy or high quality health care services. So who are they fo0ling? * Lagos State owned, LASUTH is far better and more equipped(Nigerian standard) than 80% of Federal Government owned hospitals, and it is the best state owned hospital in Nigeria. Isolo, Apapa, Badagry and Lagos General Hospitals attend to more patients than many Federal Government owned tertiary hospitals. |
Some of these companies with powerful backers in and outside of Government are the major perpetrators of Crude oil theft. According to the Chief of Naval Staff, the bulk of Nigeria's crude oil is stolen from crude export terminals. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/chief-of-naval-staff-major-oil-theft-occurs-at-terminals/156441/ Only the IOC's and companies with oil lifting license(s) are the ones who load crude oil from the terminals. Apart from ripping Nigeria off through heinous sweet heart bonanza oil deals in cahoot with Government officials who fatten their pocket books, they are also engaged in crude oil theft. The Government is very much aware of these happenings, but because they have vested interest in it, all we hear are Presidential sermons on how he is tackling oil theft and corruption, yet no 'Big Fish' has been caught. As far as Jonathan is concerned, its 'A LOOTA CONTINUA'(the looting continue). |
“There are two reasons underlying the creation of these subsidiaries… In certain cases, it is a matter of benefiting from the tax that the cartons offer for companies working primarily abroad – which is undoubtedly relevant for a Nigerian importer in other case the primary motivation is to get closer to banks specialising in financing trading. This hope has often proven vain due to the reputation of Nigeria and the relative anonymity of these firms. This is all the more so since several of these companies have no real activities in Switzerland, have contended themselves just with an address in a fiduciary or lawyer’s office.” The report identifies seven major Nigerian fuel importers as the worst culprits. They include: MRS Group, which owns a subsidiary, called Petrowest Services SA. MRS Group was indicted by the Technical Committee on Payment of Fuel Subsidy for collecting tens of millions of dollars between 2011 and 2012 that it could not back up with documents of physical transactions. The Presidential Committee on Verification and reconciliation of Fuel Subsidy Payment later cleared MRS. The committee did not give any reasons to show that its transactions were legitimate, according to the Swiss report. Ontario Oil and Gas limited owned by Ugo-Ngadi Adaoha has a Swiss Subsidiary named Ontario Trading and located at the premises of Nimex Petroleum in Geneva. Nimex Petroleum was once suspended from trading in Nigeria for not supplying required maritime documents. Mrs. Ugo-Ngadi was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, in August 2012 for fraud and conspiracy but was later released on bail. Ontario was indicted for over N4 billion false subsidy claims. The report revealed that despite dropping Ontario Oil and Gas from the list of fuel importers for 2013, the company was allowed to continue its crude oil export business. Rahamaniyya Group, which owns a subsidiary called Rahamaniyya Oil and Gas SA in Geneva since October 2010 is also located in the premises of the shady Nimex Petroleum which seems to be acting as an incubator for shady companies. The company was asked to reimburse over N507 million subsidy funds collected, but has not been stopped from importing fuel. Tridax Energy and Limited and Mezcor Limited have Swiss subsidiaries named Tridax SA and Mezcor SA in Geneva. They both received N2.544 billion ($15.9 million) without importing any petroleum products. In fact, the companies received permits to import products before applying for it. The companies, according to the Swiss report, have been traced to close associates and the younger brother of the Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke. Sahara Energy’s Swiss subsidiary is called Sahara International Pte Limited. The company was requested to reimburse the government’s N6 billion subsidy fund it falsely collected. Despite importing less fuel than they should have and have been paid for, the company is still being allowed to import fuel. There is also the Lagos-based Aiteo Energy Resources Limited owned by Benedict Peter and Francis Peter. Its subsidiary in Geneva is called Aiteo Suisse AG. Aiteo was asked to reimburse the government over N578 million in subsidy fund it falsely collected. Just like Tridax and Mezcor, Aiteo also received the permit to import fuel without requesting for it. Efforts to reach the NNPC spokesperson, Tunmini Green, on the agency’s reaction to the report were unsuccessful. Ms. Green’s phone was switched off.
