Hey guys, not trying to spoil the excitement, of those they called but something seem amiss, heard GTs have finished their Onboarding.Dunno why it took so long for HR to call them till ds week, if there was a gap in numbers of GTs for those that rejected the offer past the deadline.
By next week though, I believe will get more clearer view/picture for both them and us EH

Bros stop being self centered abeg, these guys prayed day and night, some fasted and begged God in the middle of the Night, many shed tears of joy when they finally got their APL. during the orientation, NNPC consistently kept warning them on the consequence of sharing info to the public without autorization. Even if there's 99% chance that NNPC were bluffing, I won't advice anyone to take the 1% risk. You keep on saying "nothing will happen and even if something happen, activist will fight for their right and they'll get hundreds of millions or billion", I just laughed and in my mind I said guy u wicked and u can push person wey no wise inside pit. Many of these guys are local men without any god father. activist ko, shehu sani ni. Even if they won't be sacked its too early to start answering queries or start jeopardizing their career just because they want to be their brothers keeper.accept it or not we're now on different sides of the divide, thats the reality of life. When we also get our APL, we won't be proud, neither would arrogance overtake us but in reality we would also be on different sides of the divide with those that didnt make it. My 2 close GT friends got their APl in this recent recruitment, I noticed they were being conservative and usually speak less whenever I ask for update, initially I felt bad that they're now forming and acting strange but the moment I learnt from Nairaland about the severe warnings and sophisticated device tracker stuff NNPC used to threaten them, I perfectly understood with them and stopped asking questions. lets leave them alone abeg 4 now, b4 they got thr APL there were other means we got info from.

Na so Brother they are now at the other side.

But for tracker, I no gree!

Dear Fellow EH,
I know some people on this platform have been asking for everyone to move on and find a better way of utilising their energy. What I would like to say is that seeking for the closure of the EH recruitment is not just an act of desperation or a plea for help. At some point we have to all stand and hold our organisations and it’s leaders accountable for their actions. There is no sane clime in the world that a recruitment of this magnitude would be prematurely completed without the applicants getting some feedback from the recruiting organisation. I have always said it that our capacity to absolve pain in this country has become a burden more than a blessing and our leaders keep using this to our disadvantage. In conclusion, the EH component of this recruitment must be concluded and if the for any reason it cannot be, NNPC must come out with a public statement clearly stating the reasons for not doing so. We can’t just keep sitting back praying and not acting. As the saying goes “faith without works is dead”. We have to make sure our leaders are accountable to us. Please if don’t feel the urge to join any of the efforts demanding the closure of the the EH recruitment that is understandable but remember if they keep getting away with things like these we are giving them the boldness to act with more impunity in the future. Stay safe guys and let’s beat this virus together.

My Dear,

I stand with you on this one. What is leadership without accountability??

Why MUST we take the back seat all of the time in situations like this??

How would posterity judge us?? Please if there is anything we can do even if it is to draw attention, its OK then. The sneaky manner of ending the 2019/2020 employment us suspect and EHs must ask questions....

Peace! Stay safe guys!

My.brother I feel so sorry for your current situation. Usually we consider so little before taking a new job;

1. simply because there is a slight hike in pay.
2. Not minding if an internal condition of service is available or not and what is contained there in.

If your health condition(I.e. rxns to the chemical) was not taken into consideration and documented when you were taken up the job offer, I would advise you to see a doctor and get a medical report un that regard, make a passionate appeal and attach the report to it. Also, if your boss is not the overall boss look for other influencers in the company to help you.

You must have learnt your lesson

Good luck Bro!

PhenomenalAustin:
I'm sorry for bothering you all but please hear me out.

I'm posting this on behalf of my uncle.

I was working in a company, and was being paid 40,000 a month not including other allowances. A new company called me to work with them as an Officiator and we negotiated a salary of 60,000.

Both companies produce the same products.

They agreed to pay and I resigned from the other company. I started my new job in Oct. last year and was paid all through Oct., Nov. and Dec.

Earlier this year, January precisely, I had a little issue with my boss. The misunderstanding was that I complained to him that the chemicals we use during productions was adversely affecting me. In the previous company where I worked, I didn't work during the production of the products as I was allergic to the chemicals used.

On a working day, during the time for production, he asked me to join in the production but I politely reminded him about my allergies to the chemicals being used. He commanded me while shouting that I should go back and work. I normally have heart burns, dizziness and severe migraines when I'm exposed to these chemicals.
I left during production as the chemical adversely affected me.

The next day, he came and asked if I had finished the work he commanded me to do the previous day. I apologised to him that I didn't because of the chemicals rxns which he knew about. He didn't say anything but from his body language, I thought everything was alright.

I returned the following day, only to receive a 2-week suspension notice. I was surprised and asked about my offense which the General manager told me, the boss was really pissed and so mad at me which I also explained to the GM and he was really surprised as I did no wrong. Nonetheless, he advised I serve my suspension sentence.

After suspension, I was given a review of my salary and my salary was slashed by 20,000 to 40,000 because of the issue...

I was really confused and bewildered because out of the revised 40,000 I receive per month, the company takes 15,000 out of it for my rent loan...

I've been apologising while also pleading with my boss to reconsider his decision as I'm a family man and 25,000 realistically, will not be sufficient for I and my family. He hasn't yet changed his stance.

I'm so confused, please I need your opinions, suggestions and help whatsoever..

I'm sorry for bothering you.. Thanks

Please help me out please... My uncle is really down at the moment...

Thanks!

It's not number of staff (junior, Senior, Mgt) rather it's ranking. Each state has its rank ranging from rank one being the highest. Highest rank in each level means that that particular state has the highest number of staff in that level.

Ok. Now understood.

Congrats to all new GTs.

Prepare your mind for the following:

(1)The coronavirus will most likely affect resumption date. State govts across the nation are banning large gatherings and minimising physical contacts as much as possible. It is clear your orientation will be postponed.

(2) The problem is further compounded by the extremely low oil prices which have not even bottomed out yet. Nigeria is currently producing at a loss with the current prices, and we are not even able to sell our crude. No oil firm recruits during periods of low oil prices. NNPC boss has emphasized the need to cost cuts to.produce at current prices. Most companies fire or place employees on furlough. So the orientation will be moved to much later date when or if things stabilise.

(3) You are yet to receive official appointment letter. You have only received a notification of success. By law, no company is not legally bound to recruit any candidate that has not yet received an offer letter. Even with official letters, there has been several cases where govts or insitiutions withdraw offer letters even after resumption with no consequences. So the current case is even more precarious.

I therefore foresee a situation where the new GTs are put on reservation list for several months or years. A worse case scenario is that the recruitment eventually be cancelled or extremely streamlined. Forget sentiments, this is a real scenario right here.

I therefore ask all new GTs to hope and pray this crisis pass as soon as possible. The longer it stays, the less chances you will be recruited.

I understand your analysis,...truth is bitter! We are hopeful the fortunes of the oil market turns around soon

Peace!

It's obvious you don't know much about these guys, contact Staffs.
As we speak, without these contact Staffs, no SBU can run successfully, NNPC is short of staffs. They are the board men, shift operators, panel men, area operators etc if you know what these mean.
You see why the GMD is giving them a thought?
Just so you know, most people on cheif officers course now, came into the system as contact Staffs.
So, contact staffing is not new to NNPC and the oil industry.

Thanks for your insight here....but let's analyse further, will the consideration of these contract staff affect EHs for the positions they applied for or with contract staff conversions EHs employment will not be affected due to wide gap needed to be filled??

Hey guys, spoke to a Mgt staff concerning EH and conversion of backup staff. He said the issue of conversion of backup up staff is being considered but many of them do not have the necessary qualifications to be placed within SS1-SS6 roles as specified in certain requirements for meeting these roles in Nnpc's conditions of service and also it will be unfair for full staff whom have worked for a long time to get usurped in hierarchy.
The plan is to fix few of them on JS role with a caveat (Could be assessment or getting a better qualification within a time period)

Thought as much. I think with this NNPC can be said to VERY considerate to the plea from "Contract Staff"
