Tpappie: You have wonderful manners. Don't you? That you don't know me and asked me to think before I talk? You r simply unreasonable. Ijebu-Ode is where I have lived all my life. You should have been reasonable enough to ask questions rather than just jumping into your silly conclusion. I have worked in over 5 schools in Ijebu Ode. It's not a big place. The schools are not many. 9 out of every 10 schools owe salaries. Why are we working? They would even cage you with strict rules and make you work like hell. So, if you would respond, think! Be reasonable. People wouldn't just wake up to cook up stories. I'm saying it again, ONLY 3 private schools are good for anyone who wants to teach in Ijebu Ode, the catholic schools, AOC private and AGGS private. If you are in Ijebu Ode and your school doesn't owe, say it and I will retract my write-up. Nice One! Ijebu Ode Teachers, o ya nah |

This is pathetic. Less than a year marriage. And people will keep shouting that Linda should go and marry as if the joy of a woman lies in marriage alone, or as if all married ladies are living happily in the marriage. Well, I wish them quick reconciliation, after all, it's TILL DEATH PART THEM, though might not be too long before it (death) does. |

latoye1: This big school owned by a deeper life member at Meiran with branches in other areas, which name starts with Good is truly a good school but not a great place to work. If you are ready to be collecting previous month salary on the 20th and above of the next month then you're welcome. In terms of staff welfare they are not there. Where you can't be happy working is not a place of work but a dungeon where you seek any available escape route. I'm saying this to save a disillusioned soul. All that glitters is not gold. Beware!!!! Sometimes I wonder when people you look up to as pious and God fearing, people you expect to be better in some ways and you see them do some things. You truly begin to wonder!!!!! AMZYMAYO: A. Hanging on the telephone
Telephone interviews are tricky because establishing rapport or conveying your enthusiasm for the job without the face-to-face element of most interviews is difficult. However, you can create a positive impression on the phone if you always:
-Eliminate background noises.
-Smile when speaking.
-Use verbal cues (such as I see and That's interesting) instead of nodding and eye contact.
-Have a copy of your CV or application form in front of you.
-Thank the interviewer at the end.
Make sure you get the interviewer's name and contact details and consider sending a thank you email or letter afterwards to maximise your chances of getting the job. Nice tip |

PapaNnamdi: Useless girl No husband No pikin
No mother inlaw No sister inlaw
No husband brother to trouble u
Only u just de the house,
Bia dis girl, Enter inside I love your comment, especially that part that says "...no husband brother to trouble you", but your opening of the comment with "useless girl" doesn't make it sound sarcasm to me. I think it's her life, and she deserves to live it the way it pleases her and makes her happy. Priorities vary from person to person you know? Yea, I agree there are folks that value marriage and can even go as having three set of twins without the finance to cater for them, thereby calling on the government, NGOs and social media to assist them, even when they know that their (the parent) income joined together is slightly above 30k in a month. Not everyone attach such importance to marriage and raising children. I mean not everyone buy the idea of "poverty is okay but being unmarried isn't". For the fact that you assume many people indulge in something, and feel it's the best does not necessarily means it is generally acceptable. My submission is that you should let Linda be, as she has her "scale of preference" which she's using in dealing with her life, and since it doesn't affect you and I in any negative way. It's easy for somebody like her to get "just any man" to marry, the only problem is that the marriage may not last, and WE will be the first set of people to mock her here on Nairaland when the marriage eventually crash, as such thread will hit the front page before the OP finish creating it, despite the fact that it won't be the first marriage to crash and won't be the last. I wonder why we so much worry about other people's lifestyle and pay less attention to ours. So, chill pal. What you attach much importance to might not be that important to others. Not every husbands and wives is happy in a marriage, and not every singles is sad, though some are. Let's leave Linda alone, after all, it's her live and not ours. |

deebsman1: Over hyped uni, always rushing students without delivering anything tangible academically. (JUST MASTER THE ART OR SCIENCE OF CRAMMING, AND IN NO TIME, YOU WILL BECOME A SCHOLAR IN NO TIME).....but all in all, its working for them, so good for them. I don't think there is any rushing in Unilorin in terms of how they run their academic calendar as many people view it. After all, other things being equal, a semester shouldn't extend 15weeks at most. An academic session shouldn't take the whole 12months, and it's not compulsory that the inter-semester break should be up to months. The only thing this school seems to enjoy is the total absence of strike, cultist activities and crisis that may lead to unstable and extended academic calendar. Most of the situations of extended academic calendars and delay experienced in most of our universities today are due to strike, cultist activities or community crisis. Practically, no semester is expected to run for up to six months. I could remember during the days of one of my elder brother in higher institution, there was a crisis by two rivalry cultist group that led to the suspension of academics for months. After this issue was resolved and students are back on campus, the ASUU began it's national strike the third week, and they had to vacate the campus again as the issue wasn't resolve on time. Few years back in this country, hardly will a year pass without experiencing ASUU or similar strike in our universities. I think these are just what Unilorin enjoys over the years that made it looks as if there is any special thing attached to it's academic calendar. I don't think they rush in any way. Let the school experience just 2 months of strike and see what will happen. Our education system, not only the universities alone, needs reformation. Even you see some government secondary school experiencing similar issue. If you doubt this, visit Osun state and make enquiry. |
