Religion / Do Muslims Pray “in The Name Of Muhammad”? by tallfish145(m): 9:02am On Mar 24, 2020
Short Answer: No, absolutely not. Muslims do not worship Muhammad like some Christians worship Jesus. He was only a man, a very good man, but a man, nonetheless. We only ever pray to God, using God’s name(s), as we do not believe that people need an intercessor between us and God.

Due to the fact that most, if not all, Christians pray in the name of Jesus, coming from the Christian perspective, it is a logical parallel to make.

The assumption is that Muhammad is to Muslims as Jesus is to Christians, so why wouldn’t Muslims pray in Muhammad’s name?

Is Prophet Muhammad the Muslim equivalent of Jesus?

In short: no.

Within the views of most of Christianity, Jesus is seen as something of an incarnation of God.

Christians believe Jesus to be the son of God, yet also God Himself. He is divine.

This is not how Muslims view either Muhammad (pbuh) nor Jesus.

To us, Jesus and Muhammad (pbuh) are both exceptionally important to the religion.

They are viewed as being messengers of God, prophets chosen to spread His message.

There is no way to understate just how vital these men (and many other Prophets mentioned in the Bible) are to Islam.

However, they are just that: men. The best of men, yes, but mortal men, nonetheless.

They are just as human as the rest of us.

Who do Muslims pray to?

The most important tenet of Islam is: la ilaha illa Allah wa Muhammadun rasool-Allah. This means “There is no god but God, and Muhammad is his messenger.”

There are two separate points of importance in this statement.

First and foremost: la ilaha illa Allah There is no god but Allah.

(As a side note, “Allah” is simply the Arabic translation of big-G God in English. Arab Christians use the word “Allah,” too!)

One cannot be Muslim without holding this belief.

Monotheism is the absolute central tenet of Islam. The only divine being that exists is Allah; the One God.

Allah has no partners, He has no sons. The Christian trinity – although it is understood that Christians believe in only one God – is not compatible with Islamic beliefs.

The second important point is: Muhammadun rasool-Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.

He is the final messenger of Allah. Prophets and messengers are of vital importance in Islam, but they are not divine.

They are not god-like. Muslims pray to God and to God only.

What about praying “in the name of…”?

The Islamic belief on intercession is very complex.

There are certain contexts in which we believe in intercession – for example, we believe that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) will intercede on behalf of believers on the Day of Judgment.

But we do not believe in intercession in prayer.

When Muslims pray, it is very simply between the person praying and Allah. We don’t pray in any of the Prophets’ names.

We don’t pray for saints or deceased loved ones to pray for us.

Religion / The Deception Of Paul About Salvation by tallfish145(m): 3:16pm On Feb 02, 2020
The Difference between Jesus Christ’s Concept of Salvation and Paul of Tarsus’s Concept of the Salvation:

Paul misled the way to salvation by excluding one of the essential elements, that is observance of the Law of Commandments. He advised only the lip service, escaping from the reponsibility to keep the commandments. He wronged the concept of righteousness and faith, and misrepresented the judgement of God. To become righteous, and to achieve salvation, faith alone, is not sufficient, obedience to God's commands is a must, but according to Paul he has a different and weird concept :
a-" For we come to the conclusion that a man is justified by faith without the works of the Law." (Romans 3:28)
b-" It is the message of faith, which we preach, that if you confess with your lips the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes so that he is made righteous and with the mouth confession is made for salvation."
(Romans 10:9)
Although Jesus {P.B.u.h.} taught his followers that anyone who attains salvation, must have faith in God, and at the same time must obey the revelations of God. It is contrary to every human intellect, that the salvation can be obtained by faith, leaving aside the practical obedience to God.
However, we read in (Matthew 5:19)
"Whoever, therefore, abolishes the least significant of these commands and so teaches the people , he shall be of least significance in the Kingdom of heaven; but whoever shall observe and teach them shall be prominent in the Kingdom of heaven.”
And in (Matthew19:17)
"If you wish to enter into life keep the commandments."
And of course this will lead us to The Concept of the original Sin
Paul's Doctrine of " The Original Sin"
The unreasonable concept of "the Original Sin" was intiated by Paul, according to whom, a man is a sinner, only because his father or forefathers have sinned:
"Sin came into the world through one man {Adam}, and his sin brought death with it. As a result, death has spread to the whole human race because everyone has sinned." (Romans 5:12)
This concept is also an innovation by Paul, it is not found in the previous scriptures, instead, it is strongly negated in the Old Testament :
a-"A child shall not suffer for the inquity of a parent, nor a parent suffer for the inquity of a child; the righteousness of the righteous shall be his own, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be his own . " ( Ezekiel 18 :20)
b-" …every one shall die for his inquity. " ( Jeremiah 31:30)
c- " Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor sons for their fathers; each shall be executed for his own crime. " (Deuteronomy 24:16)
So it is very clear here that sin is not a hereditary disease or a gentic disorder, that can be transmitted from a person to his offspring, through lineage; sin is an individual deed, for which the person doing it is responsible himself, not his children . A child is born free from sins; on growing up, his behaviour makes him a sinner or a righteous.
And of course we have to shed some light on The Atonement:
According to this doctrine, 'the Atonement ' means, God killed the innocent and guiltless Jesus {PBuh}, as a punishment for the sins of those who believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus {PBuh}.It is a doctrine of self- deception, and an attempt to escape the responsibility of righteousness, believing that punishment given to someone else will release us from our burden of sins:
Paul said in Ephesians (1:7) : " In him (Jesus) we have redemption through his blood ,the forgiveness of our trespasses "
And in Romans (4:25):" (Jesus) who was handed over to death for our trespasses and was raised for our justification "
In the Bible –as usual we find what contradicts "Paul's Doctrine of"The Atonement" :
a- " ….and my judgment goes forth as the light. For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings ." (Hosea 6:5-6)
b- " Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice " (Matthew 9:13)
c- "He is one and there is none beside Him, and to love Him with all one's heart , with all one's mind, with all one's soul and with all one's strength, is more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
(Mark 12: 32-33)
Therefore, we can say that this doctrine is a blasphemy against the Justice of God. It is highly injust, inhuman and ungodly, to sacrifice the life of an innocent man, for washing off the sins of sinners. God Almighty is never unjust so how can this injustice be attributed to Him. God Almighty is Absolate and Mericful enough to forgive sins, even without sacrifices.

Religion / Why Prophet Muhammad Come After Jesus by tallfish145(m): 6:04pm On Jan 03, 2020
Why Did Prophet Muhammad Come After Jesus?

Short Answer: Mostly because the true message of Jesus was lost with time. Jesus and Muhammad taught the same basic idea: worship God alone, be a good person, be just and generous and helpful and stand on the side of the oppressed. But over time, his message was corrupted by people like Paul. It’s the Paulified version of Christianity people practice today that’s the issue here. Prophet Muhammad came to correct the ideas spread by people who weren’t actually following the true teachings of Jesus.

Jesus: For the People of Israel Only. Muhammad: All Mankind

While Jesus (peace be upon him) was sent specifically to the Israelites, Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent to all humanity.

According to the Gospels,

“But he [Jesus] answered and said, ‘I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.’” (Matthew 15:24)

In contrast, the Quran declares the universal message of Islam.

The Quran says what means:

Say: “O people! surely I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, of Him Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; there is no god but He; He brings to life and causes to die; therefore believe in Allah and His Messenger, the illiterate Prophet who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him so that you may walk in the right way.” (Quran 7:158)

Did Jesus and Muhammad Teach the Same Thing?

Yes and no.

It is true that both Jesus and Muhammad, as well as all true prophets from Adam, Noah, etc. (peace be upon them all), carried essentially the same message.

That message is Islam—monotheism and submission to the will and guidance of God.

However, the details were not identical, but varied to cope with the time and nation addressed.

Also, while the original message of Jesus was distorted and deviated away from monotheism, the message of the final Prophet Muhammad was to stay valid and preserved to the end of time.

While Jesus’s emphasis was on moral salvation and reform of the individual, with only a few rulings on marriage and divorce, etc., the final message of Islam brought a detailed comprehensive code dealing with all aspects of human life.

This includes personal, family, social, economic, political, and international issues.

Jesus stressed purifying the soul; Muhammad was sent to build and maintain the model: individual, society, and nation.

The Original Message Of Jesus

Jesus, a human monotheistic prophet, repeatedly called people to worship God and warned those who ascribed partners to Him:

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and Him Only.’ (Matthew 4:10)

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One.’” (Mark 12:29)

Jesus emphasized his own humanity:

[As it is, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God.] (John 8:40)

[By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear.] (John 5:30)

Jesus never claimed to be God, or part of a God. He never mentioned Trinity, nor did he appoint a church to entrust itself with reshaping the faith and re-inventing the law.

The deviation started with Paul and some others—leaders, clergy, and philosophers—centuries after Jesus’s departure.

Christianity Today= Paulianity

Christianity as we know it today was re-formulated with its concepts of:

– Trinity, centered around the prophet Jesus who was thenceforth called God, begotten son of God
– The sacrosanct Church of Christ, talking and enacting laws in the name of God
– The story of crucifixion and resurrection from the dead
– Original sin and atonement

Read for example, according to Paul (NIV):

“At once he [Paul]began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.” (Acts 9:20)

“Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel…” (2 Timothy 2:cool

Pauline Christianity Originated in Pagan Beliefs

Most of these distortions were borrowed or coined from earlier pagan creeds.

Close similarities can be found between this Pauline Christianity and Mithraism, Buddhism, and ancient Egyptian polytheist creeds.

During the seventh century CE when Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent, there were only a few groups of followers of the original message and teachings of Jesus.

The Injeel revealed to Jesus no longer existed in any form, as was the case of the Tawrah of Moses before him.

They were replaced with the Old and New Testaments written by different human authors selected and sanctioned as holy by the Church ecumenical councils, several centuries after the departure of Jesus.

It was high time then to re-establish the eternal guidance of the Creator to all humanity, but this time in a final eternal form, through the Glorious Quran and the detailed teachings and living model of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Jesus prophesied the coming prophet whose universal message will stay forever:

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— ” (John 14:16)

Religion / Re: Six Reasons Gambling/Betting Is Not Good For You As A Christian by tallfish145(m): 4:54pm On Nov 03, 2019
In Islam, gambling is not considered to be a simple game or frivolous pastime. The Quran often condemns gambling and alcohol together in the same verse, recognizing both as a social disease which is addictive and destroys personal and family lives.
“They ask you [Muhammad] concerning wine and gambling. Say: ‘In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit.’… Thus does Allah Make clear to you His Signs, in order that you may consider” (Quran 2:219).
“O you who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, dedication of stones, and divination by arrows, are an abomination of Satan's handwork. Eschew such abomination, that you may prosper” (Quran 5:90).
“Satan's plan is to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer. Will you not then abstain?” (Quran 5:91).
Muslim scholars agree that it is acceptable or even commendable for Muslims to participate in healthy challenges, competitions, and sports. It is forbidden, however, to be involved with any betting, lottery, or other games of chance.
There is some disagreement about whether raffles should be included in the definition of gambling. The most common and sound opinion is that it depends on the intention. If a person receives a raffle ticket as a “door prize” or side-product of attending an event, without paying additional money or specifically attending in order to “win,” then many scholars consider this to be more of a promotional gift and not gambling.
Along the same lines, some scholars consider it permissible to play certain games, such as backgammon, cards, dominoes, etc. as long as there is no gambling involved. Other scholars consider such games to be impermissible by virtue of their association with gambling.
The general teaching in Islam is that all money is to be earned—through one’s own honest labor and thoughtful effort or knowledge. One cannot rely upon “luck” or chance to gain things that one doesn’t deserve to earn. Such schemes only benefit a minority of people, while luring the unsuspecting—often those who can least afford it—to spend great amounts of money on the slim chance of winning more. The practice is deceptive and unlawful in Islam.
