The depressing is as a result of lack of money. Oyinbo people are smart. They keep taking unsuspecting foreigners to do all their jobs and take nothing less than 40% tax on their earnings. You know if every taxable Nigerians were taxed, our own wailing go pass these people.

8 out of 10 japa-ed people will not be able save 1000 Pounds even after living in the UK for 20years! That's a fact....forget about the paparrazi and buga that dey do on social media.

They are fourth-class citizens in most these western countries.
The tax is not all 40% for everyone. It varies in the UK from basic rate of 20% to high rate of 45% depending on what you earn.

I do not feel like a 4th class citizen and neither am i treated as such, so this is not a true statement.

And how many average people do save up a good pension or complete their mortgage payments?
I don't have stats but if you grew up in this country and started working at age 22, even if it is an average job, by age 65, you should have completed mortgage payment and have a reasonable pension. Completing mortgage would mean that your outgoings post retirement will be little.

Just like this movie IN TIME the day you stop working that the day you die.
In reality the day you stop working that the day you be come homeless many home base will not understand this unless you have idea in the street you will see a 68 years old still working at Walmart or doing babysitting job just to add up from social security to pay bills .
If you haven't saved a good personal pension or made investments or completed your mortgage payment, then you may need to carry on working beyond 65. State pension or social security will not be enough to survive on. I know white colleagues in the UK and US who retired, enjoyed for a few years and became bored, then took on part time professional work and even gradually increasing the hours.

This depression thing is for extroverts who go to UK and seek the kind of social life they had in Nigeria. Friday night Clubbing, hanging out with friends on the streets, and gisting all day. For introverts that have fallen in love with their beds in Nigeria when they go there, it's basically the same thing. With steady light, it's even better. Once laptop, phone and bed is set wetin concern introvert with depression.
Very true. No wedding here every weekend or one party/celebration or another every weekend. grin

Yes you will see the results.
Their government is not corrupt like our own
But their weather is opposite to out own.
Loneliness is opposite to our own.
Social life is opposite
Job opportunities is opposite
Life is more than food and drink.
You will eat the food and drink there and still be depressed
If I am tired of the weather, I fly to southern Spain, Portugal or Italy for the weekend. keep yourself busy with different things and activities and loneliness will not set in. I agree social life can be difficult here but just get yourself involved in activities.

That is not a healthy approach to living on any coast. You need to learn how to make a home for yourself where you are rather than live postponing your joy for when you eventually make it back to some place else. That is something many Africans do which I notice people from other races/cultures don't do a lot of here. undecided
Well said!

PoliticsRe: Why Is Life So Struggled In Nigeria? by Tats(m): 5:20pm On Feb 10, 2023
gaby:
When we decided to jakpa in the late 90s during the googled-Abacha's regime, we all thought that Nigeria was a struggle. It's sad and a huge shame that over 20 years down the line, this same struggle has been raised to several numbers.

It saddens me to know that many Nigerians who will be unable to leave the shores of this British contraption will die thinking the suffering and struggle in the Nigerian style is a normal phenomenon.

I wish so many would be able to see that life isn't supposed to be all struggles and the government indeed does owe us as citizens all the basics of life to help us build upon and lead a better life.

Ironically, the ones making up the government are a part of the citizenry so, it gets even more difficult to apportion blame seeing how rotten and dubious the entire fabric of the society has been battered with continued eroding morals and glamorization of everything materialistic/evil over selflessness, uprightness, and legitimate grinds.

As an activist who's always been passionate about creating awareness of the dangers of irregular migration and human trafficking, na which mouth I come get to tell people these days say make them no find a way to go try their luck instead of idling away and still dying anyways.

Everything in this country is gone left. The only thing we got ''right'' from my personal point of view are the left-hand drive cars on our roads. I'd advice we just go back to our owners right-hand driven cars, perhaps, everything else might start going the opposite way "right".

Enu gbe my people...
When Andrew said he was checking out in the mid 80s, it was no joke sad. The conditions have not changed since then and are worse now.

They gave you the reason. It simply means that you did not behave like the average Nigerian will do by carrying heavy luggage (which is mostly food), so you were flagged. Nothing wrong with going with very light luggage. I always return to the UK with very light luggage, but then I don't fly Qatar Airways.

It's a lie. This is from the Australian government website. Rwandans arent eligible for e visa. If they were, rwanda will be empty. Rwanda is a much bigger shithole than Nigeria.
You are right. Although those websites you pasted are not the official government websites. The first one is actually a commercial website.
This is the correct one:

Na lie. The Nigerian passport is stronger than rwanda isn't visa free to Australia. If it was rwanda will be empty.

Australia is grey. The green parts are the ones you can travel to without visa.
That is old information. These things change. Rwanda Citizens can apply for Australia eVisa. Do more Google search or go to the Renowned "Passport Index" website and search for Rwanda Passport Dashboard and check Australia

Rwanda passport has a better mobility score of 71 countries versus that of Nigeria with 54 countries

China's foreign exchange reserves rose to 3.1277 trillion U.S. dollars at the end of December 2022, up 0.33 percent from a month earlier: State Administration of Foreign Exchange xhtxs.cn/DtI
I’m pretty sure even Nigeria’s external reserves rose this period. Anyway, we all know that China is on the rise. Nevertheless, much of their external reserves are held in the US.

One thing Russia and North Korea is doing well than this places you mentioned

Gdp does not mean the common man is wealthy.
Ha ha. So would you trade living in North Korea for the US or France? You have little to no idea of what is happening in North Korea. Why do you think people try to escape the country each time and when caught, they get killed and their families sent to labour camps? Try and watch a foreign movie in that country and get caught and see what will happen to you.

As for Russia, I guess you like your freedom and can say anything you like. Try living in Russia and see if that would fly. If you need information on these places, YouTube and Google are your friend.

The same crappie was said in the 70's. The UK will prosper, its a dynamic country.
Well said.

I don't think people realise how much money was spent to sustain the UK economy and people's jobs (furlough) during the pandemic. We were only recovering from it when the war in Ukraine started. As for Brexit, don't expect that after such a "Divorce" from several years of EU membership, it will immediately result in wonders considering also the Pandemic and War effects. It takes time to unbundle from the EU and proceed as other non-EU developed countries run their economies.

Its not usually set up.

When loved ones pass away, their relatives usually give away most of their properties, either for free or at very cheap rates.
The relatives may not know that the person stashed away some money or valuables in items especially large ones such as furniture. This is likely what happened in this case.

Write a hidden code in the website for it to self destruct in 3 months with a recovery mechanism. So if they pay you before then and the website goes down, they will call you and you will restore it. If they don't pay you, then that is the end grin grin grin
EducationRe: Why Do Some Graduates Find It Difficult To Speak Good English? by Tats(m): 5:47pm On Mar 30, 2022
It is simple. Standard of education is poor and Teaching standards have dropped. This is not about using complex words. It is just constructing basic correct sentences and using right grammar. It is no wonder that Nigerians are made to write English Language exams in order to get into universities in some foreign countries.
